Samuel Saleh Umoru, chief accounting officer of the Makurdi Zonal Office of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB and Mrs Philomina Chieshe, a clerical officer in the same office, conspired to stop the board’s auditor, Mallam Ibrahim Oba, from carrying out a financial audit of the zonal office with a bribe of N50,000.This was revealed by the first prosecution witness, Patrick Obilo who is also an auditor with the Board, as he appeared before Justice Peter Affen of the FCT High Court, Maitama, Abuja on Monday, September 30, 2019.Umoru and Chieshe are first and second defendants in a charge brought against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), over the disappearance of JAMB’s N35,000,000 in its Makurdi Zonal Office, where both work.During Obilo’s cross-examination by prosecution counsel, Ekele Iheanacho, he disclosed that Oba was sent to the Makurdi Office of JAMB in 2016 for a routine examination of the account books and consignment notes, which show quantities of items supplied such as e-facility cards-used to check and print results, change of course card, scratch cards, question and answer cards, receipts or tellers.He revealed that during this procedure Chieshe visited Oba’s hotel room with an envelope containing a sum of N50,000 as “gift” from her boss, Umoru, and urged him to return to Abuja. The auditor according to Obilo, sensed danger and returned to Abuja and reported the situation to the head of JAMB’s Audit Unit, James Ochijele, who ordered that the N50,000 “gift” be paid into the Board’s account.Ochijele had to replace Oba with the witness (Obilo) for the same assignment in the Makurdi office. While examining the books of accounts in the Makurdi Office, Obilo said he discovered a shortfall in the proceeds from the sales of e-facility cards and change of course forms to the tune of N35,480,000, which were not remitted to the Board’s account.Asked for explanation, Chieshe began to cry as she gave all manners of justifications for the disappearance of the money, including a tale that a mystery snake had been swallowing the money in Umoru’s office, even as it was kept in a safe.In another incredible story, she claimed that a mermaid appeared to her in her bedroom to attack her at various times and that her house maid is a witch. Real trouble started for Umoru and Chieshe with the coming on board of Professor Ishaq Oloyede as JAMB’s registrar, who set up a reconciliation committee to look into the accounts of all the state offices. This committee unearthed monumental stealing.With no objections from counsel to the defendants, the prosecution tendered the report of the reconciliation committee and its summary, which Justice Affen admitted in evidence.Under cross-examination by Mark Fees, counsel to Chieshe, Obilo said each of the e-facility cards, change of course forms and other cards are sold at N1000 per unit, disclosing that Umoru was the coordinator of the sales at that time in his capacity as the chief accounting officer of the Board’s Makurdi Office and had the record of every cards that were delivered to the office and the proceeds realised from the sales.Responding to Chieshe’s claim that she made some payments into the Board’s account but has lost the tellers, the witness revealed that the bank statements which were traced for confirmation of the said payments did not establish any of such payments as claimed by the second defendant . The trial judge adjourned the matter till January 21, 2020, for continuation trial.

A couple, Maybeth Espinoz and Hector Vidal, plunged to their deaths while they were kissing on a bridge in Peru.

The couple had been locked in an embrace, while on their way home from a nightclub.
The incident which occurred on Saturday, August 3, 2019, was caught on CCTV.
According to DailyMail, the couple plunged 50ft off a bridge called Bethlehem in Cusco.
Maybeth and Hector had stopped on the bridge to kiss after leaving a nearby nightclub around 1:00 a.m.
CCTV footage showed the couple leaning against a railing on the bridge, while hugging and kissing each other.
Maybeth, 34, proceeds to sit on top of the metal railing and wrap her legs around Hector, 36.
However, she appears to lose her balance and begins to fall backwards, taking Hector with her.
The couple tried to cling to the barrier but were unable to stop themselves from falling off the bridge.
Maybeth was killed outright, while Hector sustained a fractured skull and later died in hospital.
The couple were reportedly mountaineers who had moved to the Cusco region to work as tour guides.
Their bodies have since been transferred to Ancash in northern Peru.

Understandably, the decision to stay faithful to your partner, or to your marriage vows will take a lot of energy, strong will and restraint, but hey, you chose this, didn’t you?
The least that is expected of you is to have the balls [and I’m not referring to only men here] to stay true to that person you decided to enter into a relationship with.
But as we have already said here, being in a relationship or being married will not automatically take away your attraction to other people, neither does it mean interested people will stop chasing after you for sex and other extramarital affairs.

When you are faced with temptations, [believe me, you will] these are some of the things that will help you out.
1. Be determined
Whatever will happen will first happen in your mind, so you need to decide to never entertain the thought of ever cheating on your spouse. The thought will cross your mind, but you can't allow it have a firm grip in there.
You should choose to hold your end of the bargain, regardless of what your spouse does or does not do. Of course, I have to repeat here that being faithful is not an easy thing to do as you’ll be tempted a lot and your determination alone might not be enough, which is why you need the other things listed below as well.
2. Limit opportunity
If you never get in a situation to cheat on your partner, you’ll most likely not.
Hence, it’ll do you a world of good to limit or totally cut off ties with everyone who might be too tempting to ignore. Stay away from old flames and people with whom you’ve had sexual relationships in the past.
3. Get your spouse involved
Becoming married or getting into a relationship does not mean that you have to leave every other person you were once close to.
However, to avoid the temptation of falling for someone else, or them falling for you, you need to always find a way to remind them [and yourself] that you are now committed to someone else who deserves your loyalty.
Wear your wedding ring, find a way to bring up your spouse’s name in conversations with them.
That, plus your strong determination to be faithful should be enough to ward off any chance of becoming tempted to cheat.

4. Keep your emotional issues for your partner only
When your partner offends you, or does something wrong, and refuses to see reason with you, sharing it and asking for someone else’s opinion might seem like the easiest thing to do. [Especially someone of the opposite sex]

Well done. Continue.
You should know that sharing sensitive information aka regular, intimate communication is how many emotional bonds begin. Soon a shoulder to cry on might soon become a ‘rod’ to ride on.
Do not get too close. Do not build that emotional connection. You’ll not be able to fight that temptation to cheat.

5. Seek assistance
If you feel tempted to spark up a relationship with someone else, tell someone.
Just tell someone.
Of course the best people that people often find it easy to talk to in these instances are their spiritual heads, and it’s just fine.
Talk to your religious head if that’s who you can fearlessly confide in. In the instance where you do not have any, or you feel they cannot be completely trusted, then you might want to meet with professional advisers/ counselors/ therapists.

Get out, get help! [It might not be a bad idea to go see the professional with your spouse if you are married].
All in all, staying faithful and true to any exclusive relationship requires so much work, and you should be ready to do what is needed.

A high chief in Edo state, Chief David Edebiri who is the Esogban of Benin Kingdom and the Odionwere (Head) of witches and wizards in Edo state, has given reasons why self confessed witches and wizards in Benin kingdom are not killed. Edebiri in a chat with members of the African Bar Association who paid him a courtesy call today, said any witch or wizard that confesses in the Benin kingdom, is treated with uttermost respect and is rehabilitated back into the society after undergoing certain processes.

A man has revealed how watching his identical twin brother transition to become a woman gave him the strength to come out as gay.

Branden Miguel and Jada Tahiry, 27, originally from New Orleans, were born identical twin boys - Branden and Bryan - but after Bryan made the decision to transition, they are now brother and sister.
Branden said witnessing the positive reaction to his sibling's transition gave him the courage to accept his own sexuality, and tell his family and friends he is gay.

I was sixteen years old and extremely foolish.
My foolishness was also garnished with a heavy helping of adventurism.
This daring nature that defied reason.
Somehow unlike Christopher Columbus, I just felt that I was born to discover something no one else had discovered before.
So I chased knowledge, in all forms, like a drug addict running after a line of cocaine with his leaking nose.
I read about Alchemy.
And got fascinated by the pseudo-science.
The possibilities of using naturally occurring elements to create other naturally occurring elements was exciting.
And the potential of using naturally occurring elements to improve the naturally occurring abilities of living organisms was intoxicating.
Like Kryptonite and Clark Kent.
This was in the days of JAMB.
When our days were filled with going for extramural classes where instead of studying for our impending entrance exams to university, we sat listening to and telling tales of ‘clandestine deals’ that would enable us attend university in style and free us from a lifetime of 9 to 5 jobs.
This was when the phrase - “He has hit!” before it went local as “He done hammer!” - was popular and boys looked to pilfering and selling their parents money, gold and any other valuables in order to shop at “Homeboys” in Ojuelegba, and acquire that ‘Janded” look which was the passport for climbing the social ladder.
It was at this time, that stories about the power of mercury spread like wild fire.
That naturally occurring element.
Not the one’s that were housed in thermometers which were also known as quicksilver, owing to their silvery colour, but the rare ones that few people ever saw.
Red mercury.
That mystical element that held untold powers.
The tales were that with it, herbalists could invoke endless wealth, just the same way the tales of female panties in the hands of herbalists creating wealth are rife these days.
Boys were in search of red mercury.
They heard it was in the glass contraptions in power transformers, so they broke them, extricated the mercury and left neighbourhoods in months of darkness.
Then they walked around Lagos in search of that person, who would connect them with that herbalist, who would invoke that money, which would make them forever rich.
And as expected they only found fraudsters who exploited them and relieved them of the little money they had or made them loot their parents property to raise the money that would pay for the missing “ingredient’ the herbalists needing for his invocation to work.
I heard of mercury and was mesmerized by it’s power.
And its mystery.
There was nowhere you could find information on it.
The internet cafes at the time were just coming on stream and when you went to search on MSN and Netscape, you saw little information on it.
What you saw where people wanting to know more about it, or people speaking about its numerous powers and applications.
It was used for nuclear bombs, Space shuttles, Ginormous telescopes, Submarines and the list went on and on.
It built a longing for it in me that felt like a drowning man craving for air.
I needed it.
I wanted it.
And unlike the boys who wanted it to obtain wealth, I wanted it to obtain infinite knowledge.
Somehow I had this belief that through the powers of alchemy, mercury was the sole naturally occurring element that when ingested could improve the mental powers of the brain in geometric proportions.
To make that easily understandable, I believed that if you drank mercury, you will become superhumanly smart.
So I sought after mercury.
Days.
Weeks.
Months.
Then I found it.
With a friend of a friend, who had lost incredible sums of money looking for a herbalist to invoke it and give him untold wealth.
He was so frustrated and disillusioned, he gave me the mercury for free.
It was the last of three.
And was in a metallic container that had an opening in the side, through which you could see the red viscous liquid.
The metal container had a “MADE IN THE USSR.” stamp on one side.
And on the other side, was an inscription in a language I believed was Russian.
And he told me that he had got it from some guy, who had bought if from some sailor, who had stolen it from some ship, where it was being used to stabilize the electrical power in the ship’s engines.
He told me not to open it in the presence of electricity or natural light.
It had to be in a dimly lit dark room.
Lit by a native palm oil lamp.
If not the mercury will disappear.
I hurried home in mounting excitement.
I was going to become the smartest human the world had ever seen or would ever see.
I would outdo King Solomon in wisdom and outshine Albert Einstein in intellect.
When I got home, I found a Nescafe tin, emptied out the coffee, poured palm oil into it, took the cover, drilled a hole in it and threaded a tiny piece of cloth through it. I then covered the tin with its coffee and waited impatiently for the oil to permeate the piece of cloth, before I lit the cloth.
It took some time to finally catch fire, but when it did, it was a steady flame, that was blue at the base and red within.
I took it into my room, drew the window blind, turned off the light, and took the saw which I had kept on the bed and began to cut through the thick metal container. It took a herculean effort, until I finally opened the container.
There was a glass vial in it.
Like those used in hospitals to house injectable fluids.
I carefully hung it over a plastic cup, and used a nail filer to cut through it.
Slowly.
Until it cracked open and the red viscous fluid poured into the plastic cup.
At last, my red mercury.
Not.
It had separated instantly.
Red colouring that had stained the cup and ordinary mercury that had pooled together.
Silver and red.
Separate but together.
I dropped the broken glass vial and lifted up the cup with one hand the native lamp in the other.
So I could see clearly.
The silver fluid moved in a gelatinous whole.
Smoothly.
Unmixed.
Over the red fluid around it.
Unstained.
I put it down on the table in my room.
Covered it with a blank cloth.
Opened the door and hurried out to the kitchen to get another cup.
I practically ran.
Got it.
Came back.
Shut the door behind me.
Removed the cloth.
Lifted both cups.
Then slowly turned one above the other and the silver fluid flowed as one whole dollop until it dropped into the other cup.
There they were now.
Two cups in my hands.
One with the quicksilver or mercury and the other with this red colouring fluid.
It was a let down of massive proportions.
So disappointing I had to sit down on the bed to save my knees from buckling down under me.
I can’t remember how long I sat down there thinking.
About everything.
My dreams which had gone up in smoke took up most of my thought.
It was hard to bring myself down from the dizzying heights I had climbed as I fantasized about the immense knowledge I was going to have.
Then it occurred to me, that I could still be smart, maybe not as smart as I would have been with red mercury, but smarter than I was at the time.
After all quicksilver or ordinary mercury was still mercury.
It had to also have some potential to make you incredibly smart.
So I stood up and walked over to the table.
I picked up the cup that had the quicksilver or mercury in it.
Said a short prayer.
And lifted it to my lips.
Just then, the door swung open and light rushed into the room.
I squinted as I looked towards the silhouette that stood in the open doorway.
Panic seizing me at the same time as I shouted.
“Nooo! Shut the door!”
It was my father.
Instead of shutting the door, he reached in and flicked the light switch.
The room came alive.
I stood there, slowly lowering the cup until I placed it back on the table.
He didn’t ask any questions in that moment.
Just a stare, that went from me, to the cups on the table, the saw, the native palm oil lamp, the broken vial, the sawed through metal container and the black cloth, then back to me.
Then he said in a calm voice.
“Follow me.”
I could smell trouble like a foul scenting perfume.
It emanated from him.
He walked out of the room.
And I followed him.
Through the living room that was in front of my room, through the pantry where the large freezers where, through the corridor that had a large window which looked out to the trees in the compound, up the staircase, pass the room where the water heaters were and then into the library.
He looked through the books that lined the shelves and pulled out a large red book.
Encyclopaedia Britannica.
He opened it to a page, walked over to one of the tables in the library beside which the Atari computer sat, and laid it open on it.
Then he turned to me and motioned me over.
All he said to me was simply.
“Sit down and read.”
I sat down and stared at the open page in front of me.
It had at the top right hand corner, in bold the word - MERCURY.
I had seen it before.
Sought it out myself.
But because he had asked me to.
I began to read it again.
In a scheming way.
Fast.
Then I looked up at him.
He said to me again.
“Read it.”
I lowered my gaze and read it again.
When I was done.
I looked up again.
He said again, calmly.
“Read it.”
I read it for the third time but this time slower.
And as I read I began to see things I had seen before but hadn’t really seen.

I couldn’t believe it for a moment.
So I read it again.
Then I looked up at him.
And all that came out of my mouth were the words.
“I didn’t know.”
He nodded his head, sat down by my side and said again in his calm way.
“I want you to tell me why you decided to drink it. Please don’t hold anything back. There is a reason why I came into that room at that very moment. God wants this to be a teaching moment for you. He wants to use this to lead you towards that purpose he has destined for you, but then you will not be helping him do that, if you lie or you hold things back. Please be truthful.”
I had expected him to be really mad at me, but he wasn’t. There was just this feeling that all was well and it was okay if I opened up.
The scent of trouble had dissipated.
So I told him about red mercury and my quest for knowledge.
And as I spoke his eyes misted over.
A tear rolled down his cheek.
I didn’t notice it at first because I kept looking down at my knees as I spoke.
But when I looked up and saw it, the words caught in my throat.
I felt an overwhelming sense of guilt wash over me.
And sorrow.
There was silence for a moment and it was shattered by the sobs that rushed out from somewhere deep in me.
It shook me.
Every nerve and every cell.
My father reached out and pulled me to him in a deep hug.
And as I cried and he cried.
He started speaking to me.
“Jude, do you know how much your mother, your brothers, your sisters and I love you?”
I couldn’t answer as the sobs shook me over and over again.
He continued.
“You already have what you are looking for. Remember the Tree of Knowledge in the garden of Eden? Remember what it did to Adam and Eve? That is what happens when you chase knowledge without understanding the power, purpose and the seduction of knowledge. Experiments are not a game, you cannot use yourself as a guinea pig. There is a reason why people go to university to learn and study. Please don’t do this to yourself and to us. I am always here for you to run your ideas by. A sounding board. I will not judge you. I will simply advise you as a and lead you away from danger as a father should. Even King Solomon had advisers.”
And when we separated.
And he was even calmer.
He said to me.
“Do you think your mother will want to know about what you were about to do?”
I shook my head.
“Neither do I. I know you have told me the truth and that you weren’t planning to take your life because of something you have not disclosed, am I right?”
I nodded.
“So do you promise me that this will never happen again?”
I nodded.
“Say the words.”
“I promise.”
“Do you love yourself?”
“Yes I do.”
“Do you believe you are alive for a reason?”
“Yes I do.”
“And do you want to find out what that reason is?”
“Yes Dad.”
He smiled and patted me on the knee.
“Good. I want you to write an essay for me - I want it in a week - Three thousand words - Why I Want to Be The Most Intelligent Man in the World.”
I wrote that essay.
In 6 days.
A period of digging deep.
Self-reflection.
Honest exploration of desire.
The understanding of delusion.
And the many faces, power and seduction of knowledge.
An enemy and a friend.
That essay saved me from me in so many ways.

A nurse working at a sperm bank in Virginia was arrested after she fell pregnant from a stolen vial of semen she smuggled out of her workplace in her vaginal cavity.
29-year old Jessica Jensen was arrested this morning by the Fairfax City Police Department after an investigation revealed shewas implicated in an illegal sperm smuggling ring.
The young worked in the Sample Collection Department of the Fairfax Cryobank, the largest fertility clinic in Virginia.
She’s accused of using her position to steal semen samples which were then sold on the black market by an accomplice.
According to the Fairfax police chief, Captain Harold Pardini, Ms. Jensen is actually 4-months pregnant after one of the vials broke while hidden in her vaginal cavity.
“She admitted that she had smuggled over 2,500 sperm samples over the last year, and that two of the vials broke during one of her smuggling operations.”
According to Captain Pardini, the accused fell pregnant from those samples but kept smuggling sperm despite her pregnancy, until her accomplice was caught selling stolen semen to an undercover police officer.
“She was clearly addicted to the money it brought her. We think that she gained more than $2 millions from her crimes.”
According to the Fairfax County Police chief, Captain Harold Pardini, this was probably the most active “illegal sperm ring” in the history of the country. He estimates the total profit of their crimes to over $25 million.
Ms. Jensen now faces a total of 83 criminal charges and a maximum of 435 years in prison.
Her accomplice, 47-year old Michael Donovan is also facing 67 accusations in a separate trial and could end up in jail for a maximum of 315 years.
Both of them have decided to plead “not guilty”, and their trials are expected to begin in March.
Jessica Jensen also confirmed she had decided to go on with the pregnancy and is expected to give birth in June.

FBI agents made an astonishing discovery this morning while executing a search warrant at the residence of a Houston mortician: 3,178 embalmed human joysticks.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation suspected 54-year old Dave Murray, an employee of the Harris County Morgue, of being implicated in an organ trafficking network.

Investigating several reports of missing organs and body parts, dozens of agents raided his residence this morning, hoping to find evidence of his involvement in the crimes.

What they found on the site was a lot more disturbing than what they expected, as the FBI spokesman Andy Ramirez described the scene in an interview with WNTV-4.

“There were shelves everywhere, filled with hundreds of glass jars. Each of them contained a penis floating in formalin.”

According to Agent Ramirez, the accused rapidly confessed everything as soon as he was arrested.

“He explained in great detail how he had been cutting off dead men’s genital organs and collecting them for more than ten years.”

It took the FBI more than seven hours to gather all the organs and other pieces of evidence that were found on the site.




A dozen federal agents of the FBI’s Evidence Response Team were still identifying, collecting, and packing jars more than six hours after their arrival on the site.

A total of 53 criminal charges have already been filed against Mr. Murray and hundreds more could be filed over the next few days.

An anonymous FBI source told WNTV-4 that the number of charges could reach over 3,000.

Dave Murray will remain in custody for the moment as a psychiatric evaluation has been ordered to determine if he’s fit to stand trial.

If he is considered fit, he should appear in court in October for the beginning of the procedures.

An explosive expert was arrested this morning in Greenville, North Carolina after he set more than 5 tons of TNT in the wrong building and blew it up.
According to his colleagues, 51-year old Marty Daughtry was visibly intoxicated this morning when he showed up to work, but that was not unusual for the demolition team foreman.
Recognized as an expert in his domain, Mr. Daughtry has led several major demolition projects over the years.
He is known to have a severe alcohol problem but is usually able to get the job done, so his coworkers were still confident when they decided to let him manage the demolition of a 6-story apartment building.
Unfortunately, Mr. Daughtry was unable to remain concentrated on the job at hand and had his employees set the explosive in the wrong building, leading to the demolition of an entirely occupied 36-apartment building.
Fortunately, there was no one inside at the time, but the mistake has left dozens of families homeless and caused over $4.5 million in damage.
Greenville Police Department spokesman Lieutenant Gary Walters commented the incident in a press conference a few hours after the arrest.
“The accused was too drunk to pay attention and he didn’t even get the address right. It’s a miracle that all 36 apartments were vacant when the guys blew it up. That drunkard could really have killed several people!”


Lieutenant Walters says the accused was so drunk at the time of his arrest that he vomited several times in the patrol car on the way to the station, before falling asleep.
Marty Daughtry now faces a total of 98 criminal charges, including 79 charges of criminal neglect endangering the life of others, on for each of the destroyed building’s tenants.
If found guilty on all charges, he could face a fine of $3,450,000 and a sentence of up to 425 years in prison.
He is expected to appear in court in March for the beginning of his trial.

A New Jersey couple had the surprise of their life after a DNA test proved the lovers were, in fact, twin brothers.
Both men were convinced into going for DNA tests after friends and family members urged them to check out if they had any family ties due to their remarkable resemblance.
“We did the tests partly as a joke and to shut up some of our friends who were constantly teasing us about being cousins,” remarks Jason.
“Never did I expect to learn we were in fact long lost twins” he admits, visibly disheartened by the news.
“The man that I expected to spend my life with, my soul mate, is, in fact, my twin brother. I don’t know if I have to cry or to jump with joy,” he admits in tears.

Facing reality

“I told him we should cherish this news and celebrate the fact we have found each other again, but he doesn’t see it that way,” he told local reporters.
Separated from youth
Both men were separated at birth and adopted in different families although they both were unaware of this fact until the DNA testing.
“It’s only when I confronted my parents that they finally admitted to the truth,” admits Jason Osbourne.
“First I learn that my gay lover is my twin brother, now I learn I was adopted and that my parents have lied to me all my life. What a heck of a way to celebrate my 25th birthday” he adds, visibly furious.
“Sometimes I wish we had never gone for that DNA test,” he added.
Sexual relations between siblings are prohibited in the United States but the two brothers should not be prosecuted because of the particularities of this specific case, believe legal experts.

Malibu, CA | A California yoga teacher who performed a MouthAction on himself was rushed into the Malibu Urgent Care Center this week after doctors had to surgically remove his own penis from his throat.
Marvin Lewinski, 39, who was practicing a Tibetan form of Tantric yoga at the time of the incident, managed to contact 9-1-1 before eventually losing consciousness moments later.
Lewinski, a Malibu yoga instructor who specializes in teaching Karmamudrā, a Vajrayana Buddhist technique of sexual practice with a physical or visualized consort, said he should have been more prudent in his practice.
“Had I used lubricant, none of this would’ve happened. It usually doesn’t get stuck in the back of my throat like this,” he told reporters.

"And when it comes to me, it's like, do I have to give you this story to understand? It's been nine years since I've been famous, and I never told that to nobody [...] Yeah, I was a stripper, and I did what the f**k I had to do to feed my family."
