Everything was revealed to me wen I stumbled on her Facebook in box..her Fone got damaged so I collected it and gave her mine. It was until I repaired the Fone that everything got revealed.. How she got pregnant for the guy and arboted it. How she joked with the guy that I am her ATM card..I screenshot the info and sent it to her..she felt like dying.
I left the relationship without saying a word..Her brother begged me, her mum did the same..I didn't tell them what their daughter did
Last year, we got chatting again and I asked her abt the guy, she said he usually beat her, he borrowed all her savings, sold his uncle's office and use the proceed to travel to Libya thru Niger.. Currently she complained to me that her new boyfriend hardly show care to her..she is 28 now and her mum has started mounting pressure on her to get married..




Second lady was a year after I left the first one..
It took me time to start a relationship with her.. We were so close but I was scared of a relationship. It got to a point I asked her out and she after some time succumbed. After a month, I noticed she wasn't into the relationship so I backed off immediately.. Then she met me and pleaded for acting that way..I explained to her what I experienced and I donnot want a similar one..She promised and gave assurance..
After a year, she started acting cold. I was transferred to Abuja from LAGOS..I will take flight to go see her every weekend, give her up keep cash, got her into a computer training school, got her a laptop to quicken her learning, Sometimes, take night bus to lag..until her friend revealed to me she was already dating one guy in the company I helped her secure a job..I felt devastated.. She wasn't remorse.. I remember taking a bottle or jact Daniel weeping like a child all because I wanted to love and care..
I lost so many things in time and value during this period. Some I haven't been able to recover.
I wish dem well, but I have learnt a GREAT lesson in life.

That is how they are wired... they hardly appreciate the good ones... HARDLY. All you have to do is love yourself more than these ladies. Give sparingly ONLY.

You need SONCAP.
It is usually issued in the country of goods manufacture after SON officials visit.
Obtaining it is quite easy and straight forward. If you are dealing directly with the product manufacturer in China.
Tell the manufacturer you need SONCAP certificate of the products to be sent with your bill of laden. The manufacturer will include the cost of the SONCAP to cost of goods and issue you invoice. (Note that your manufacturer will advice you of a Shipping company) Once you pay, manufacturer handles the remaining process. You only need to make sure your bill of laden, SONCAP and any other documents specified in your Form M gets to your Clearing agent in good time to avoid demurrage. You need a good and honest Clearing Agent at this point. Lots of tout without an office claim to be a Clearing Agent. The Clearing Agent is the one in position to answer all the questions you have been asking.

Importation is not a one size fits all affair.
SONCAP is for a select type of products that SON (standards Organisation of Nigeria) has to certify before they can enter the country. Same way with NAFDAC no which takes care of foods and drugs.
While a tyre importer will require soncap, a pharmaceutical importers requires a NAFDAC no while a textiles importer requires none of this.
The deal is with the product is you are importing.
Industrial machines requires little or no import duty depending on the industry using it. It's a government policy to encourage manufacturing. Afro processing machines have zero duty but you would have to 'settle' Customs.
There is also no fixed price to clear a container from the terminal. It all depends on the duty rate and FOB value of the consignment.

For instance, a 20" FCL of knockoff Vlisco brand of textiles with FOB cost of 100k+ USD would definitely cost higher to clear than tiger nuts cleaning and processing machine which takes up a 40 footer container.
The key is choosing a trustworthy agent who will guide you in the process.

Let me explain. It's not that your goods won't fit in the 20ft, it certainly will. The issue is that it is by itself and would have it's own bill of laden. This bill of laden is what customs look at to inspect, collect tax and allow your goods in. Your agent would have a lot of work to do, but at the end, the money comes from you and this drives cost.
However, in groupage, a predetermined amount is charged by the agent and cost is reduced by leveraging on others who will also contribute their own share towards their own goods. That is how small impoter survive the high cost of shipping and clearing.

I use all those ones recommended in the mini importation threads like st patrick, nonikings, base 1 and Co. Their shipping charges is based on weight and if I use them, I will likely pay as much as $20,000 for shipping and clearing.

Base 1 for instance charges 5.5$ per kg and if one unit of what I am importing is 4kg, that is 4 x 5.5 which is $22. Now 22 X 8xx units and you see what I am talking about.

However, shipping your products via sea, if in large quantities, is far cheaper because they charge you based on cubic meter( I.e volume)

Shipping via sea takes longer 30-60 days and some shipping companirs charge $188 per cubic meter. If 20ft container is 32 cubic meter (just rough estimate and u can google to get the actual volume of 20ft container) that is 188 X 32 and that gives you the estimated cost of shipping.. It could be less or more but at least you get the idea now.

Do you know that your goods could be labeled substandard if you don't have the SONCAP and they might use that to obtain from you?

If you are starting little, like 8xx quantity you mentioned, you best be would groupage from China. They will handle everything including clearing.

I asked the manufacturer and they told me that 9xx unit will feel 20FT and since we are buying 8xx units, which is very close to 9xx, I believe there is no need for groupage (LCL).

Concerning the SONCAP, doesn't the shipping company handle that?

My best advice, seek the services of a freightfowarder in your best interest. The values you are quoting aren't the real deal from experience. Firstly, have you opened a 'FORM M' with the bank of your choice before proceeding to ship in your goods? Secondly, you can contact any shipping line of your choice for the shipment of your goods e.g MAERSK LINE, COSCO, PIL, CGM e.t.c to confirm cost. You can then notify your sender on your preferred shipping vessel line for him to send your goods through. There exist other little charges which you are not aware of but might pop later to add to the shipping cost. Though you will be notified accordingly by the shipping company.
Important point to note, ensure you open a 'FORM M' before bringing in your goods otherwise you might end up over paying for your goods !

Hello Sir, are you say ONLY clearing is 3M? how much then is shipping from China to Nigeria?

Besides, the item in question is not car or any of those and the proposed container is 20FT because my manufacturer told me that 9xx units will fill the 20FT contain but we are buying 8xx units.

It is just portable machine, the height of old rechargeable lamb that had cassette player and radio in the early 2000. Let's just use the size , height and weight of that rechargeable lamb as an example. So imagine shipping 8XX unit of that lamp, are we gonna spend spend 3million naira to clear it? How much are going to use to ship it ?

I don't know where to start bro. Many of us what we learned from online resources to push ourselves and everything boils down to your skills, knowledge and information at your disposal. The first thing is to raise capital by using what you already know.

You can freelance online to raise capital and there are lots of information on nairaland alone to help you in that direction but this is only possible if you have your own laptop and a fairly stable power supply.

It may surprise you that money that my friend gave me in 2012 is what has sustained me to this day. How? It boils down to your knowledge bro. Most people think capital is the most important thing but I tell you that knowledge base is the most important thing of all. With knowledge and no capital, you can raise capital. On the other hand, capital and no knowledge, you can lose the capital.

You can see me asking questions on here, this is how it is done. You don't wait for anybody to come and spoon feed you. You research hard and tight!

Most clearing companies are Form M compliant. They process these forms months in advance in anticipation of protective clients. The agent's gives you the Form M and BA no which is processed with their name, the BoL is issued in the name of your agent's company while you are the notify party. This simply means your agent is the importer.
The benefits of this process far outweighs the inconvenience of not having your name as the importer.

Agent in this context means the clearing agent, right?

We don't have the technology for many of these things because of lack of constant power supply. If the government fix power supply and make it constant, 50% of Nigeria's problem is solved because I know the Igbos will dive in with everything they have got.

if you are buying a container load from one manufacturer, you dont have any problem really because they would tell you/know how much of your goods would fit into one container and they would calculate freight cost for you all inclusive. its when its at the port they send you your BOL and all that..

So if the shipping fee from China to Nigeria is $2200 according to your Chinese friend, we can add some extras to the $2200 for cost of moving the goods from base source to the Chinese port.

Let me tell you how we do ours, we have at least 2manufacturing companies we buy things from and from the beginning they handle our shipping, so already the shipping freight which has a fixed price will be included in the PFI (proforma invoice). The company then send the name of the shipping company to us and usually our agent handles the rest till we get our goods. I don't know if this helps in any way

there are different shipping company and you don't need to stress yourself much on this.
what you need to do is to inform the company you want to place order from in China to get you different shipping line from China to Nigeria with prices and how many days does it takes their container to arrive in Nigeria. the shipping price and date of arrival is different from one shipping line to another.
what kind of product do you intend to import from China to Nigeria? are you sure that the product is not contraband.
Do you intend to get SONCAP certificate because it is very importation while you are about to clear your goods when it arrived in Nigeria.
