The Nigerian Naira weakened by 17.9 per cent or N144.49 against the American Dollar in the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM) on Wednesday, December 6 as confidence waned in the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) ability to boost the market with enough foreign exchange (FX).

Yesterday, the exchange rate of the Naira to the Dollar closed at N951.22/$1 in the official market compared with the preceding session’s rate of N806.73/$1.

This current FG will not go borrowing money or use hard-earned forex inflow to fight against the overvalued US dollar on the streets. You all will get burnt las las.

Those being deceived to keep hoarding forex will get burnt severely las las. It's laughable ignorance when poorly educated people who have almost 100% of their day to day expenses in naira still go and hoard forex and crowd out those who genuinely need it. If they don't get burnt, no defence of the naira will. Not even EFCC that Mr Emefiele kept sending after them will make them stop.

I am 100% in support of the steps FG through CBN is taking to allow free float to determine our real aggregate demand till those unpatriotic elements are burnt by real market forces.

Nollywood couple Yul Edochie and Judy Austin faced an embarrassment of a lifetime after they were chased out of an Abuja shop when their card was declined whilst paying for some goods.

According to notorious blogger Cutie Juls, Yul Edochie’s card was declined when the couple tried paying for some household appliances they were purchasing to the tune of N10m.

The blogger claims Yul and Judy have relocated to Abuja from Enugu where Yul is set to become more involved in politics.

As part of the move, they are attempting to furnish their new place however, their attempts to buy some items was fruitless due to Yul lacking sufficient funds in his account.

The blogger claimed even as the shop owner asked them to pay as much as they can, las las Yul’s account could not even cover N500k worth of goods!

At this point, Judy Austin insisted that they should take the goods but would pay later as her husband is famous.

The shop owner allegedly chased Yul Edochie and Judy Austin out and asked them to return when they have enough cash!
