Dave mo mehn! Don't mind the director, I spent years in varsity studying HRM and I can categorically tell you that Human Resources Management has everything to do with managing people! Unless maybe he wanted you to convince him that you are knowledgeable about the field. Even though cleaners interact with people, they can't be said to be playing the role of HR in their organization... they vary! Customer service Officers also interact with people but they function in a different capacity. I guess he downplayed your confidence.

Maybe he also needed a definition of management to understand HRM better.

OP, but why that age 15 and you call the girl a nanny? Is she not supposed to be in school at that age? A 15 year old in my opinion should not be given such "job", she can help around the house and take care of kids but not as a 'worker'.
