That woman alongside her family name and backing of the elders of Lagos Island gave Tinubu the supports he had when he first became Senator and when he was later voted governor in 1999.

One thing I've noticed about Tinubu is how he destroys the ladders he uses to ascend to power immediately after. Elrufai did a lot for his re-election but he immediately humiliated him and has incarcerated him just to rewrite history that he wasn't helped by anyone in order to maintain a godlike status. It's a combination of low self-esteem, megalomania, and chronic ingratitude.

Tinubu lost states like Ebonyi, Imo and Cross Rivers woefully but the APC governors in those states won their re-election effortlessly. Bottomline is that, it's not necessarily the APC that is unpopular, it is Tinubu and Nigerians can tell the difference. He knows this and that's why he's running from pillar to post to ensure he's the only viable candidate on the ballot.

So who made Tinubu? You have not answered that question. Does supporting a governor to succeed you suddenly mean that you own their souls in perpetuity? Tinubu is not the only governor from the 1999 set, why is he the only one that has refused to let go of the state he governed? What manner of greed is that? There were governors in Lagos before him. Did he also make Seyi Makinde? Baba Kabiru already had a solid grassroots base before Tinubu became governor.
