Okay. I'll start being strict about this again on TUESDAY. Today and Monday, if I see questions like this, I will answer them, because I know everyone is suffering.

Drum roll please.....

ISSUED! It should be ready for pickup next week Thursday!

Fantastic! I can't describe the smile this formed on my face. Thursday it is then! Thank you for the information. It's funny to think people's next frantic calls would be directed to the Pick Up center. God help the guys there wink

1. We are cautiously back online!

2. This means that we are beginning to be able to print some visas, and we hope that we'll be back to full capacity soon.

3. Yes, we will be here this weekend, and I totally want everyone's sympathy and compassion because it is also Sanitation Saturday this weekend, which means that we all have to be here well before 07:00, and one of the most profound joys of my life is sleeping in. cry But, considering what all of you are going through, I can get up at 05:00 on a Saturday once in a while.

4. I can't promise you anything... we are still cautious... I don't want to get your hopes up unnecessarily. (This is the moment where I'm supposed to say "You should never, ever buy a ticket before your visa is actually in your hands" but you seem to be in a good mood and I don't want to shake that.) Shoot us an e-mail on Monday, or if you're comfortable posting your case number post it here, and I can at least let you know if your visa was one that cleared for printing on or before Saturday.

5. Nope, it's cool.

1. Cautiously? What a word lol

2. Great News! Can't wait to have you people back at full throttle

3. Awwww...be assured that my undiluted sympathy goes out to your kind heart this weekend. I work a Mon-Fri shift and i loathe those weekends i get to work because of system issues too ( I am network engineer). As a matter of fact, Saturdays and Sundays are those days i talk to my wife for several hours non-stop on the phone, she wouldn't allow me attend to any other thing. Whew! I am glad those long calls would be reduced considerably very very soon unless she decides to sit in the bedroom and call me while i watch football in the living room! (Please don't tell her, i know women love long calls grin)

4. Yes guilty as charged! I should never make travel plans until i get the visa in hand I took a leap of faith! If by friday i do not get any mail or sms from you guys, i'd be at the airline first thing monday morning to change the ticket to maybe Dec 25th grin . At least before Xmas we would be back online non-cautiously. Well about the case number, I am not sure there's much anybody (wrong hands) can do with it except check the progress of the case, is there? I tend to be a little careful in some areas except buying tickets without a visa cheesy

5. I am glad you never get tired of answering questions, even stupid ones.

Please let me know if you think its safe to post one's case number online.

Cheers

Dear Visa Officer,

A little birdie (Dept of State Website) told me Lagos Post is one of the 39 posts back online as at yesterday. 1.) Is this true? 2.) have you started printing visas now? 3.) Will you work over the weekend if need be to cover the backlog? 4.) Will i be lucky to get mine printed (interview was 11 june) before 30th June as I have a flight to catch and my wife is boiling like a hot kettle as we speak. smiley 5.) Are these questions too much to ask?

I shall expect your usual swift reply.

Cheers and have a great day!

Answering this one from my e-reader -- will find a real computer later to answer the rest. We could use your help! smiley We're experiencing worldwide computer problems affecting passports and visas of all categories. Our specialists are working on it, but it's really affecting our operations. I apologize for the delays and will keep you posted as I learn more!

Thank you very much. Tell your technicians to restart the systems, sometimes its as simple as that cheesy

I'm late to the party. How did the interview go? I hear we're having computer problems -- did that affect your case?

Dear VO,

I was approved grin yesterday but was told there is a system problem and an email will be sent to me with regards to pick update. What is it with your systems? I am an I.T Specialist and i can help if need be (Just teasing) . Please have you come out of the computer problems yet? If not, do you have like a time frame for this issue to be resolved? Well, not like I have a choice than to wait but just curious. Your response would be appreciated.

Cheers

I'm sure that if you had any health problems, especially ones that affected your clearance, the physician would have informed you. But we do like to receive the medical paperwork in its sealed envelope so that if the CDC asks, we can attest that it wasn't obviously tampered with.

My thought on the I-864 instructions is "I hope I didn't write that. That's confusing." Basically, the rule is that we like to see the most recent three 1040s (tax returns) at the time of submission of the I-864, so if someone's submitting the I-864 after April 15 (the date tax returns are due in the U.S.) and they're late filing their tax return, we'd want to see the most recent three years that they DID file. How's that?

Wow, no one could have explained better in a short time. Suddenly I feel back on track. Once again, you are doing a great job!

Dear VO,

Nice work you are doing here. Keep it up.

Ok i have 2 questions for you today.

Firstly, I am scheduled for an Immigrant Visa interview in June, I have done the medical screening and have obtained the result in a sealed envelope which i am to bring to the embassy, but surprisingly I have not been told the result of the screening. Wouldn't you agree that I should be privy to such information? Is it safe to conclude that I am medically cleared to Travel?

Secondly, I have looked at my Interview Letter (P4) over and over again. There is a conditional statement that should ordinarily be understandable but appears a little confusing. It goes thus; "If a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of Support) and provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal income tax extension in lieu of a Federal income tax return, bring the sponsor's most recent Federal Income tax return to the visa interview" In my own case, the AOS along with Federal Income Tax return (not Federal income tax extension) was submitted since 2013 and everything was complete. Now I do not know if there is a validity period for AOS which may require 2014 Federal Income tax return document. Not forgetting the fact that the case was approved and completed in February 2014 based on 2013 AOS document.

Please what is your thought on this.

Cheers
