I have noticed that the 3gb data i have after subscribing for glo bis comonth is now draining very fast unlike before. Who else has noticed this.. i now use average of 200mb perday without downloading. Is this from Glo?

SMILE did it, Etisalat towed that path as well as SWIFT, Spectranet, Airtel and they all went unpunished by NCC. Tell me why other ISPs would not be encouraged to cheat their subscribers this way.

Set your phone to 3G and not 2G/3G. I'm sure that way there'll be an improvement. That's what I have on mine. Though you need to bear in mind that Glo has been crappy for the last few days with only a slight improvement noticed today.

Good you identified some key issues. However you mentioned KVa and not KW. The difference being that generators use KVA while solar uses KW.

The difference being that KW is of a higher rating compared to KVA. Simple reason why a 2kw solar energy system would require a Generator of about 3.5 to 4kva to match up to.

Another thing you identified are the batteries. Standard issues for my company is 2 x 120v 200ah batteries per kilowatts so basically you multiply the batteries who's us 2 x the amount of kilowatts. So example a 1kw system would come with 2 x 120v x 200ah batteries which is 400ah.

The components come with the solar panels, charge controller, inverter, battery pack and rack. That's the real deal anything less us a sham.

One thing that the OP mentioned that I like so much is the information on the solar charge controllers. Many people don't this fact, NEVER BUY a PWM charge controller, it will give you a lot of headache, instead, be ready to buy a PMMT charge controller no matter the amount.

PMMT charge controllers may cost 3 times the price of a PWM charge controller, but the benefits are enormous. PMMT charge controllers ensures that you have optimum power conversion from the solar panels. If you are not ready to buy a PMMT charge controller, don't install solar panels

The OP did not mention cable sizing, this also an important aspect you need to consider when installing solar panels especially when distance of termination (connection) points is far apart. Small cables will drop voltages which will eventually affect the overall power delivered to your load(s).

This is information coming just at the right time. I'm thinking of investing in an inverter with solar integration (1.5kva, two (2) 200AH backup batteries, charge controllers and four (4) solar panels), but have been faced with several offers like 375k, 525k and even up to 700k for this same configuration. As a lay man, I'm tempted to go with the lowest offe of 375k, but I'm kinda sceptical about jumping onto this.

With your experience, pls how much will a good MPPT controller go for?

mine is a genuine windows 8.1, it came with my laptop and i havent tried to alter it.... done all my updates, nothing about windows 10.... but i can actually push it out using command prompt ( wuauclt.exe/updatenow) but network has been cutting it shut

In that case, why not try another network. Initially, I tried using Glo for my download, but wasn't getting anywhere. So, I had to change to Swift.

Before I did my upgrade to Windows 10, I made sure all my device drivers were up to date so as not to run into issues such as the ones you've highlighted. In any case, Google and download Driver Booster 2 to search and analyse all drivers on your computer. There and then, you can run the updates for all outdated drivers.

I want to believe the reservation period is over as you had till July 29, 2015 to do that. But like I did, check out the "check windows update" option in the control panel and let it run to see if Windows 10 will be among the available updates for you and then you can check the box by the side and download. Once the download is done, the upgrade will start automatically. Mind you, your computer has to be running on genuine Windows 7 and 8.1 OS for you to be eligible for the upgrade to Windows 10. Otherwise, forget it.

Follow the guide below which I have copied from an available on-line write up.

Windows 8.1
If you want to just download the installation media for a fresh reinstall of Windows 8.1, there’s a new option from Microsoft that can allow you to download that image without even entering your product key.

And if you are completely reinstalling a Windows 8.0 PC you can use this 8.1 installation media with the same key from Windows 8.0, so there’s no reason not to do so. It even comes with Update 1 integrated.

Simply download the Windows Installation Media Creation Tool from http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media, and then select the details about which version you want (Windows 8.1 or 8.1 Pro, etc), and then follow through the wizard to create your boot media.

N.B. In downloading the media creation tool, make sure you download the correct one for the right system type for your computer i.e 32-bit or 64-bit processor. To know your system type, simply right click "This PC" on your desktop and select properties. There, you'll see whether it's a 32-bit or 64-bit system type OS.

You can choose to put the boot media directly on a USB drive, or you can create an ISO for later use or to burn to a disc later.

It’s as easy as that.

After a successful installation of my Windows 10 upgrade, I ran into some issues like the start, search, WiFi and other buttons on the were not working. Even Microsoft Edge was nowhere to be found.

To resolve this, I had to do several restarts and a forced shutdown by taking out the battery while laptop was still on as I had read this somewhere on-line sometime ago. Good thing is that it worked.

I finally upgraded to the Windows 10 OS today after spending well over 5 hours on the venture. I guess this had to do in a way with the speed of the Internet download. I used Swift Networks despite getting the whole 5 bars.

To get my upgrade from 8.1, I simply activated the "check for Windows updates" though I had gotten a notification for an upgrade from my reservation. I'm happy I chose this route because I would have ended up installing some updates to programs I couldn't get uninstalled. When the available updates showed up, I simply ticked the Windows 10 updates only and commenced the upgrade download which was a whopping 2.7GB.

Download and installation was seamless as I simply followed the on-screen guides.

But after the installation, I noticed the start, search and WiFi and other buttons would not work. I couldn't even locate the search lens. You can imagine how hysterical I became and immediately started looking for ways to roll back to my 8.1 jejely.

To resolve this, all I did was to go through several bouts of restarting my laptop. Voila! It finally worked as I could now access the start, search and other buttons. Even the Edge finally appeared on the task bar.

N.B. Make sure you update all device drivers and disable any Antivirus software before proceeding to upgrade and install.

Did you say 20 minutes? I've been trying to download mine over the Glo network here in Naija for over 2hrours and it's still on 10%.
