Hi guys, is anyone experiencing the glitch today as trips all seem to cost around N700 or even less in some cases? I got a tweet from Uber saying they sent out communication in that regard, but I never got such. Who got one?

I also have the unlocked MiFi device E5573s-320 from MTN and have used the 4G Glo sim on it, but 3G is the best I got. From what I've read so far on Nairaland and elsewhere, the Glo 4G won't work on the unlocked MiFi from MTN.

I tried doing this on my own by going through Google to see if I could get any help, but every guide I got was hazy and all confusing. So, I had to give a friend in Computer village to get mine cracked and voila, I have other network sims like Etisalat, Ntel, Glo (except Spectranet and yet to try out Swift and Smile) working on it. The only problem is that I'm limited to 3G from Glo and Etisalat. Well, I guess it has to do with the 4G "band" wahala.

Oh really? I got mine 2 Fridays ago (Oct 14) and it was still 5k then though I had to test it with the 1k/1.5GB plan. It's quite fast I must confess, but the way the data volume gets depleted is so legendary.

They know there is strong competition now, and so they have devised better strategy at getting ahead.

Take, for instance, their 4G mifi. MTN is selling its Huawei E5573s mifi at #10,000 naira, but Glo and Spectranet are both selling theirs at #25,000 naira. But people are expected to always patronize ingenious companies at the detriment of their pocket, especially in these hard times. That is stupid.

MTN is also running a promo that allows its customers to get 100% bonus of their data bundle when they subscribe on a new device, or a device that the bonus hasn't been awarded, for six months.

The MTN MiFi device is actually now N5,000 though I hear it's only a promo price. Grab yours now while stocks last.

To buy MTN internet data with a 30-day activation on a 3G enabled smartphone, all you need to do is dial *131# and select 1 (buy data plans) and then select 3 (monthly plans). You'll get your regular data volume plus an additional device bonus.

The beauty of MTN internet data subscription is that you never lose any unused data volume even if you have to subscribe to a new plan. At least that I know for a fact.

Yes. By rolled over data I mean that your unused data volume when your subscription expires OR when you activate a fresh subscription before the current one expires. Either way, the unused part is added to the new subscription.

But then note that you will need to renew your subscription on the same data bundle within a 10-day grace period (for MTN) after the current subscription expires to still have access to the previously unused data volume.

Why will you want that changed? You'll be getting double data volume on MTN on your renewal/activation. I got an extra 1.5GB (device bonus) on 1k subscription totalling 3GB in addition to any rolled over data volume.
