CHELSEA STARLETS: WHERE ARE THEY?
John Terry won Chelsea’s Young Player of the Year in 1998 and, as the banner at Stamford Bridge suggests, has gone on to become a ‘captain, leader and legend’ at the club.
However, since the Roman Abramovich revolution, opportunities for young players have become rather more restricted as millions have been spent on established players from the Premier League and abroad.
In the week that Chelsea’s U19s won the UEFA Youth League Final, we take a look at the 12 players to have won the club’s Young Player of the Year award since Terry and see how their careers ha ve unfolded in south west London and beyond…

hardywaltz: They should understudy the APC and if they are smart enuff they can grab one of the Chambers of the National Assembly in the next round of elections in 2019 effectively turning the President into a "Lame Duck President" and by 2023 grab back the seat of power or worse case they grab both houses of the National Assembly and turning the President from the ruling party into a "Sitting Duck President". point of correction: it is now governing party and not rulling party |

Writing this made me wonder, a lot of players didnt turn up this season..... Especially United and City United own might be understandable but that of city is weird. |

Ibime: Well said. We're on the same page. James McCarthy is a good player. I doubt he'll be cheap though. If Everton signed him for 12.5m, they will want at least 22m. I will pitch my tent with Christian Eriksen, me thinks the £22m is enough to price him away from Tottenham. |

nateevs: And we better be. This Ramires issue, I no understand. We will never have a midfield the type of Ballack, Lampard, Maka/Essien like we had if we keep this Ramires thing on.
Even a Koke, Fab, Matic, Ruben midfield is light in numbers and strength. We still need one dude in the middle with technique and strength. James McCarthy if we don't want to spend money. and we also have options in the forgotten ones, the likes of Josh McEchran and Lukas Piazon. |

AirborneLacer: "I think he will be a player to compete for a position. Now is the moment to protect him.
"If in this moment we were sixth or seventh, he would play. But Ruben is a player I expect to compete for a place in the team next season, his evolution is superb.
"I don't speak about Pogba or other players. We look to our midfield players and between Fabregas, Matic, Ramires, Ruben, we have a good group."
- Jose Mourinho
Ibime it seems like our summer would be quiet. I don't think so. Rumour has it that we are chasing Koke. |
