nateevs: Obvious improvement on the previous 8 games or improvement on our 17 game winning run?
Obvious improvement on avoiding another shambolic performance and disgraceful defeat in the hands of Wolverhampton.
It does not end at that, we were able to neutralise them in their prime and saw a match with peace of mind without the tendency of developing high blood pressure.
1st half : Some painstaking, uber patient build up, you would think that they were playing in slow motion.
2nd half: Improved performance, we didn't just rely on cross and nod, we tried playing in between the lines, passed the ball faster and the hunger to win the ball back quickly was evident. Havertz could have won it.
Best player I think was CHO, his best game so far. He is just missing that final decisive pass to up his game but his work ethic has definitely improved.
Chiwell definitely struggled and good to see we had a manager who actually reads the game. Ziyech didn't do much and was not surprised he got substituted.
Tuchel failed to win his first match (not happy about that at all) but surely everyone can see the improvement. Looking forward to the next match.
Ibime: You want to bait me into comparing a new managers bounce to Lampards last horrible month. I pray Tuchel does well, but since you want to bring your agenda to my domot, let's be fair and compare like-for-like. Below is what I will compare Tuchels input to against the same Wolves. Go ahead and compare.
BlueRayDick: One funny thing about this match is the “running around “ and “activity forming “ that has been used to critique Mount is exactly what Havertz did all day
Since Mount was praised for just that, Havertz is as well deserving of praise too
Sarri reloaded or not, at least his style of play is obvious in his first match in charge unlike Lampard who oversees for 18 months and till today, his pattern is still unknown.
ItGeek: A new coach, that just had one training session with the guys, and have gone for a mix of experience and youth, yet people are already making conclusions. TT is our new coach, lets all support him to succeed. It will take a while for us to know his settled starting eleven.
Hope they will listen and stop this irritating attitude of the live of Lampard to pass a hasty judgment
nihilistjnr: That second goal was a comedy of errors to me. Our defenders left Vardy in an offside position from the goal kick - of course you cant be off from a Gk, and it was his contested header from that GK that led to Albrighton getting the ball
While James was busy ball-watching, and Maddison was busy scoring, did you see that Rudiger actually gave away a pen on Vardy?
This our squad is 75% useless tbh, though Lampard too is looking more and more clueless these days
nateevs: Let's not make analysis is silos. No one is running away with the league. That's an indication that no one is consistently edging out the smaller teams.
We on the other hand are coming off a phase with most of our players fluffing their lines. We need a win however we can.
When we went on 17-match unbeaten run, I didn't see people saying we were predictable or only crossing, despite still playing the same football.
My grouse is not the personnel but with Lampard.
I don't have issues with his selection but his set up.
At least, one can tell the identity of Sarri, Mourinho and Co.
Can you at this point of his second season at the helms give us an explanation on his pattern, tactics, and imprint?
What is he doing technically to unlock opponents who sit back and all that?
Have you ever seen Lampard with a tactical twist and switch?
Is there any coherency in our football?
Proof me wrong about the tactical ineptitude of Lampard and I will succumb.
Ibime: Have you seen any Fulham player in Chelsea half? If that's not parking the bus, tell.me what is.
There's nothing relegation about their defending. Spurs, Southampton, Liverpool and Leicester have been unable to break them down and take the win in the last month.
When you see the middle is packed, criticise with sense
Next match, you will come up with another excuse in support of the opposition.
This effort each of Chelsea opposing teams put up are credits to their coaches.
What are other big six coaches doing to better them in the act?
What has Lampard done differently?
A child is not brilliant, you're praising such child for a find handwriting.
snoopanddre: Music really get money these dayz o. Just that i can't fully understand how they make all these monies from music. Any body with a better understanding should explain. No hating pls.
The statistics have been well publicised. Chelsea have now conceded 11 Premier League goals from corners since Lampard took over. That is more than any team still in the competition - and this despite the fact that his team have actually faced fewer corners than every team to play in the Premier League both seasons in that time bar Manchester City.
Chelsea are conceding a goal from every 14 corners they face. It is a weakness and a sign of a weak team - one that has conceded more goals away from home than any other team in the Premier League since Lampard was appointed. It is a damning record and it needs to change but are any of the big-name summer signings really going to be able to do that?
nateevs: CHO is far more effective on the left. He has never been effective on the right.
CHO is only 19. It's easy to forget that. He deserves all the chances and this is the age to make those mistakes. I am always for giving young players chances.
Last season, people wanted to force Tammy out. But playing alongside an intelligent Havertz, we see what he (Tammy) is capable of in the right conditions. Always been the biggest fan of Tammy's. Statistically, he's still our most prolific player in front of goal.
rationalmind: I think the plan is to have them( thiago, pulisic, azpi) play the midweek league Cup match to gain some match fitness before throwing them into the league
Where did they lose their fitness and where did Alcantara gain his?
