oga barcanista, i have been seeing your post opposing this government from day one, ppl like you are the reason why nigeria would not move forward. accept the fact that JONA has lost and support the present one to take nigeria to a greater height. that what a patriotic citizen would do not come here everyday to find a fault in every utterance buhari makes.
minister are there for just four years and you are saying they develop policies, well to me it would take more than that, am sure he would have appointed the most senior person in each ministry as the minister because they know more about how to get maximum output from their ministries. but lets say he wouldnt because he doubts their loyalty.
the administration showed us how important ministers were. grin embarassed undecided
1)I'm not sure appointing the senior persons in ministries(perm secs) as ministers would promote or give room for transparency apart from loyalty that you mentioned.
2)I'm not sure the constitution allows such move only if we'd have to ammend the constitution and that'd be cumbersome.

This argument has been over flogged. If you don't know that Ministers own their allegiance to the ruling political party, then I suggest you find another section to air your views
Sir, not all ministers are there coz of their allegiance or affiliations to the ruling party, some are there coz they are experts in certain fields especially in an ideal society. I believe Nigeria is not an exception especially in recent past.

I hope u read my post...
If a president... Has a clear cut out policy in his mind. .... do he need a minister?
Yes ministers are important but not a most for any government to function well. ... .. There job can be neglected and still have an effective government
It is one thing to have policies in mind, it's another thing for your policy to fit in, I mean valid and relevant. The president can't be an expert in all the fields/ industries, can he?? We cannot undermine the effectiveness of a reasonable and sound minister.

Learn about what you intend to speak about. The constitution mandates that for someone to be made a minister he must meet the same criteria that is mandated for a senator. He must be a member of a political party and must be well known to the political class. So PMB can not make a Perm.sec a minister.
Are you serioushuh I wouldn't mind if u quote that part of the constitution and What about technocrats, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina belongs/belonged to what party?

persius555:
Pls, save us us all the rhetorics that dont hold water in any circle of discussion. In as much as i support and append BRF's massive contribution to the lives of lagosians and nigerians, this project was an overkill and uncalled for. Why should an administration use public funds to fund a project that solely publicises the works a public office holder, making it look like the former governor was doing lagosians a favor. Ideally, a noble idea of such should have been included as part and parcel of the entire lagos state establishment with or without BRF on seat of govt. A subdomain attached to the numerous LASG websites would have been appritate and cheaper to maintain, e.g brfprojects.lasg.gov. Whatever the intent of the project was, it was overpriced, over valued and controversial. It did more damage to BRF's image than good. All the same, BRF is my man any day.
God bless u for this. Fashola to me was discharging is duty as Lagos sates' Governor, why must he spend so much in publicizing it, what will happen if he doesn't even publicize it at all, I mean those projects are there for all to see. Fashola did is best for Lagos state but if he's found guilty..he shld face the law.
PoliticsRe: Official Press Statement By Former Governor Raji Fashola On Website Allegations by Amorl(m): 8:01am On Aug 14, 2015
It's almost impossible for any public office holder(politician or public servant) to be completely transparent especially in this part of the world. Anyone found guilty should be made to face the law, perhaps then, sanity will return into governance.

Unfortunately they won't do that, they are serving the party's interest and not of the people.

Sir, the fact still remains he doesn't make mistakes. If u have any idea of programming, I guess you'd understand what might have happened. There are rare cases of genetic alterations, mutations, damages nd some omissions while d genetic info are bn copied and replicated. These can have terrible implications, I guess this is one of them.

D guy performed well in his first term before gradual reduction of his allocation. No governor has ever done what he did in history of osun state. Only that his financial projection was wrong nd his people understand that fact, d reason they show him understanding. Its a challenge wc he will surely overcome besides people do nt c PDP as an alternative in osun.
Yes, he did what no governor has ever done, I guess that's Y he's experiencing what no governor has ever experienced. In my own opinion, some of his projects are brilliant and successful(like the environmental programme 'Oclean' nd Health's O'ambulance). He'd increased government expenditure(like O'arugbo, O'Yes and the likes) without reasonable measures to increase government's income and generated revenue. As it is nw, only miracle can solve the problems on ground, I pity him tho', the state government is now considering mass retrenchment or massive cuts in salaries to cut government expenses. These problems could have bn avoided, like I said, the former Finance minister wasn't mute about the nation's doom (both present and proposed).

It's because you are not there. You will never understand. yes!

I went to the place last week and visited three cities, They all understand this simple explanation :- "Aregbe was recieving huge allocation and started big project and later Jonathan mismanaged our treasury and states allocation droped, that made it difficult for Aregbe to continue his project and hinder his salary payments and bonuses including 13months payment. He did not embezle our money, he only thought thats how juicy allocation would continue" they said.
please listen to yourself, how can u be assuming when you're competent, it's a gross maladministration if u ask me. The former Finance minister wasn't mute about the nation's doom(both present and proposed).
