Business5 Ways To Start A Business While Working A Full-time Job by Amosjaj(op): 8:35pm On Aug 16, 2017
It’s not as impossible as you might think to start a business while working a 9-5 job. There are certain ways to make it work and Jumia Travel, the leading online travel agency, shares 5 ways to start a business while working a full-time job.

Be Committed

Commitment is one of the major things that will help you get through the hard and difficult times of starting a business while working a full-time job. To help with commitment, you can write a list of all your necessary activities and prioritize them. Try to lessen your involvement with or the time you give to activities that are not very relevant, and invest that time in your new business venture. It might not be the most convenient thing, but you have be determined to sacrifice as much as you can to make it work, without jeopardizing your full-time job or spreading yourself too thin. This is why prioritizing your activities is very important.

Consider Your Strengths, Interests and Weaknesses

To help you successfully start a business while working a full-time job, you should take an inventory of your strengths, interests and weaknesses. Your strengths and interests can culminate in you having some of the necessary skills to drive your business success. For the skills you don’t have but are necessary for the success of your business (in other words, your areas of weakness), you can take time out to learn the skill, or outsource or hire someone else who has the required skill and can help you pick up the slack.

Be Sure to Validate Your Business Idea

This is very important because a business can’t be successful if there is a lack of market need for its offerings. You should thus ensure that you validate your business idea before starting a business based on it. A business needs a lot more than the passion of its founder to be successful and sustainable. Ensure your business concepts and product ideas are fully thought out, useful and properly researched, and that there is ongoing feedback from your customers or target audience about your product or service. This is one sure way to guarantee business growth.

Outsource as Much as You Can

You might have the skills to do virtually everything related to your business, but because of your full-time job, the fact is that you just don’t have the time. This is where outsourcing comes in, to help you pick up the slack and move your business forward. Focus on doing what you can do better than anyone else, and outsource the rest. To help save cost, you can consider outsourcing to people that will be willing to work for free or at a low cost. You can also consider offering some of the shares of your business to some of these people for coming on board, rather than paying them cash, if you consider the skills they are bringing into your business extremely valuable and vital to the growth of your business.

Try Not To Blur the Line Between Your Business Work and Your Full-Time Job

When push comes to shove, you’re still being paid to work for your employer so you should ensure that you take care of the work for your full-time job when you need to. Avoid abandoning the work for your full-time job to take care of your business work. Give to Caesar what’s Caesar’s

Education8 Tips To Help You Survive Moving Out Of Your Parents’ House by Amosjaj(op): 6:47am On Aug 16, 2017
There comes a time when everyone wants a place of their own.

If you would know when you get to that stage. The stage when you feel it’s time for life on your own. If you’re not sure if you’re there yet, these signs will definitely help. If you’re ready to move out, here are some tips to help you out:

1. Steady Income
Before you even consider yourself ready to move out of your parents’ house, you must have a steady income. How are you going to pay rent and furnish your new place? You must have a steady source of income before you consider moving out.
Image: Giphy
2. Make a budget
Having a budget of how much you wish to spend on rent, furnishing, food and other things is necessary. Following a budget keeps you from overspending and enables you to save as well.
Image: Flickr
3. Learn to prioritise
You already have a monthly budget for things that are important such as food, light, security etc. You also have to employ a scale of preference when it comes to your monthly expenses. Going to concerts every weekend might skewer your budget and lower how much you save that month.
4. Choose your new vicinity with care
You have to choose where you’d be moving to with care. You would have to factor in how close to work your proposed new place is. The security situation and how constant the power supply is in that area are also factors you have to consider.
Image: WhiteWallProperties
5. Make a long term plan
You have to plan for the long term. How long are you going to be living there? How much do you want to save while living outside your parents’ home? These are just some things that should be in future plans.

6. Learn to hunt for bargains
One thing about living on your own is learning that skill you must have seen your mother use on several occasion. Yes, that ability to negotiate and lower prices as well as knowing a bargain when you see one during your shopping trip. Also, learn to buy in bulk to save money.

7. Bring some furnishings from home
To reduce the cost of moving, you can bring your bed from home as well as plates, cutleries, cups and other minor things your mother probably has in excess in the pantry.

8. Maintain a friendship with your neighbours
Once you’ve moved out, you have to be on good terms with your neighbours. Nobody will go out of their way to inform a grumpy neighbour about new developments on your street or building.

FashionFour Ways To Keep Your Beard Irresistible And Soft by Amosjaj(op): 6:38am On Aug 16, 2017
Men keep their beard for different reasons. Some keep them because it compliments their face, whilst others keep them because it is a sign of masculinity and most women find men with beards attractive.Whatever the reason may be, if you have a beard, then you must know how to maintain it.

So, if you wish to maintain a soft beard to impress your lady-love, then let us help you out. Here are some useful tips on how to maintain a nice and soft beard.

Shampooing

Shampoo your beard at least twice a week this will keep your beard soft and shiny. Instead of using a regular shampoo, buy a good beard shampoo because they are especially made for being used on facial hair.

Apply the shampoo with your hands and massage it in a rotational motion. Leave it on for some time, and then rinse it off with lukewarm water.

Apply your conditioner

Use a conditioner on your beard after applying shampoo,Conditioners moisturise the beard keeping your it soft which improves the quality of your facial hair.

Keep your beard nourished

Mix coconut oil, almond oil and olive oil and add a drop of warm honey or a few drops of milk cream.

Coconut and olive oil are known for their healing properties, and they will also keep your facial hair moisturised. Almond oil will condition and soften further.

Prepare a paste and once it settles down, apply it on your beard. Leave it on for 25-30 minutes and then wash it off.

Apply a cold compress after this procedure to close the skin pores.

Finally, comb your hair with a bristle brush to discipline the stubborn and standing strands of facial hair.

Apply your face wash

While applying face wash, ensure that you clean your beard every day properly. This will remove the harmful dirt particles.Washing your beard regularly will improve the texture of your beard, making it lighter and softer.

Shaving Tips

Apply some warm coconut oil to your hair before shaving. This will soften your beard.

Use a good razor and shaving cream. Also, make sure you change your razor once in every three months.

As you are shaving your beard, make sure that you rinse out the residue from time to time; otherwise it will close the pores and cause irritation.

Trim your bread every now and then. This will benefit you with an even beard growth. Also, as new hair will take place of the old ones, it will make your beard softer and finer

Romance13 Things You Need To Think About Before You Stay With An Unfaithful Spouse by Amosjaj(op): 4:31pm On Aug 15, 2017
You probably used to be the person to shun people who would stay with an unfaithful man/woman willingly.

Then now you wonder how you got here but you are and instead of walking out the door like you should have, you’re trying to work out just how you will stay with a cheating spouse. The thing about staying with someone who cheats on you, it messes you up one way or another, you may even end up being like them.

Once in a while, you feel infuriated and the fact that you are thinking of how to stay with a cheater means you are willing to entertain their disgusting choices you just need to figure out how you can save the strength to tolerate them. So here you are seeking a reality check and here are the things you need to think about before you stay with a cheater.
1. Monogamy takes time and it won’t be easy.
Rome wasn’t built in a day and a habit takes 21 days to develop. If your other half is used to cheating they can stop but they must want it as bad as you for him/her. Its not an easy journey, I imagine they go throw withdrawal symptoms from not playing around.
Image: Giphy
2. What about your spouse makes you so happy that you can forget they cheat?
Does he/she have something so much greater that can make you overlook their nasty habits? If so they you may prosper.
Image: Tenor
3. You will not feel safe for a while.
No doubt the safety you had with this person once upon a time is now fictional. Any time you feel you need to protect yourself from the person you love then just know you don’t feel safe and it will not feel good.
Image: Giphy
4. You might end up cheating and justify it with “I’m with a cheat”.
This may happen especially if you have been such a loyal person. After feeling betrayed you will be angry and wildly emotional becoming vengeful may be the next best thing for you. So if you step out on your other half whether physically or emotionally then you may end up saying he/she does it too. It doesn’t make sense to do something that will force you to be the one on the wrong.
Image: Giphy
5. You may never really build full trust if the cheater’s habits don’t change.
By this time you have already mastered the art of finding out if there’s something suspicious going on. A cheater’s habit will not change overnight this means you will not trust them and believe me when I say your actions will prove that. You will most likely be irritable and always ask questions about their whereabouts.
Image: Giphy
6. What kind of cheating was it? Because it matters.
I don’t care what people say, but emotional cheating is the worst kind of cheating. Physical is horrible too but was it a one night stand or ? The kind of cheating that was involved will also tell you the kind of cheater this person is. Is he/she a serial cheater or once in a blue moon ? Or anything goes. This will tell you if its even worth trying.

7. You will sometimes have random outbursts, will your partner be ready for this?
Yes you will have outbursts and it is your right. Sometimes you will want to leave your other half especially if you feel they should be working harder. It can get very frustrating and emotionally depriving.
8. You will not be as vulnerable as you were prior to the cheating.
Before the cheat you could probably allow yourself to be vulnerable and in love and now, not so much. This is because whether you realize it or not you have decided to shut a part of yourself off from this person.

9. You may feel the need to have other male or female friends who you can date just in case it doesn’t work out.
Because you are insecure you may end up feeling the need to have options just in case the mess you decided to work with doesn’t work out. Remember you don’t feel safe so you’ll find a way to protect your heart.

10. Diseases, diseases and more diseases as a possibility. Can you really have sex without worrying?
Need I say more ? You will not feel safe because you don’t know where this human being has been or if he/she used protection.
Image:
11. The cheater might just become better at cheating but doesn’t stop.
Yes, so they identified what makes you suspicious and now they will cover their tracks so well. You may also end up becoming some sort of investigative reporter or spy which will make you feel crazy.
Image: popsugar.com
12. If you stay with a cheat you will beat yourself up trying to understand why he/she won’t stop.
You will feel like its your fault unless you develop a backbone which is so unnecessary especially if you’re not married. But this is a battle that will change you.
13. Emotionally and mentally, you will be drained.
Emotionally you will not be settled for a while and mentally you will not have peace unless you’re with him/her because you won’t trust them no matter how much you try.

BusinessLucrative Ways To Use Whatsapp For Business by Amosjaj(op): 11:08pm On Aug 14, 2017
The simplicity of Whatsapp shouldn’t fool you into thinking its use is limited to mere casual chatter. Whatsapp can be a powerful and highly cost-effective business tool to those who know how to properly employ its features for business. Jumia Travel, the leading online travel agency, shares 5 lucrative ways to use Whatsapp for business.

For Customer Engagement and Support
Whatsapp is a great tool for delivering customer service and a great platform for customer engagement and support.
Whatsapp’s SMS features and its ability to send images, video clips, documents, media and audio files make it a great tool for customer engagement and support; it can be used to engage customers and help increase sales as well as garner a good reputation for your business.
Whatsapp is also a great follow up tool for converting business leads into repeat orders, and is a platform for you to also share regular updates about your business at little or no cost rather than through email or SMS.
It’s also an effective, convenient and cost-effective way for customers to reach out to you when they have complaints or feedback on your products or services, rather than customers wasting time and spending hundreds of Naira on-hold, waiting for their calls to be picked on a customer care line.
For Market Survey
Whatsapp is a great interactive tool for getting real-time suggestions and feedback from your customers about your products and services, through brief and concise questions relating to the areas of your business or service you need information on.
For Promotions or Advertising
In addition to helping with customer engagement and support, Whatsapp offers a good platform for promoting your products, discount or sales offers.
If you don’t want to broadcast messages, you can use your display picture, status updates and even profile updates to promote or advertise your products or services.
If you want to be creative and put in some extra effort, you can send out e-brochures with images of a product, video clips containing directions on the use of a product, or video clips on discount or sales offerings on your products or services to targeted people or groups on Whatsapp. You can also solicit responses to your videos or e-brochures at the same time.
For Business Services and Transactions
As a business owner, you can encourage your customer to make orders for your products or services on Whatsapp, and you can even hold E-Classes or Tutorials on Whatsapp.
In cases where your students might find it hard to get together at a central venue, Whatsapp can easily be the venue for your tutorial classes, and Whatsapp media, documents and audio file sharing feature makes it very interactive for an online tutorial platform.
Your students can easily make the payments to be included in the class before-hand, and once the payment is confirmed, you add the students to the closed Whatsapp group for your tutorial class. Even concierge services can be run through Whatsapp, as well as other similar business services.

For Internal Team Communication
A great thing about Whatsapp is that practically everyone uses it and it really doesn’t require any training to use. In addition, you don’t need to explicitly ask your employees or team members to check the app because chances are they’re already hooked to it, this makes Whatsapp a great tool for internal team communication.

You can form Whatsapp group for different teams in your business, for example you can form a Whatsapp group for the Business Strategy team, another for the Sales and Development team etc.

Your team can share ideas, instant messages, images, audio files, video clips and other media among themselves in a quick and fun way.
You also don’t need to be too afraid of the information shared on the these groups getting out because Whatsapp messages are protected with an end-to-end encryption that not only makes it one of the safest messaging apps in existence, but also adequately protects your data from leaks.

Health3 Signs Showing It's Time To Watch Your Sugar Intake by Amosjaj(op): 10:57pm On Aug 14, 2017
Apart from causing obesity, inhibiting the brain's performance, find out more reasons why you need to cut out sugar.

Too much sugar affects the brain's perfomance (Rosanna Davinson Nutrition)
Excessive sugar consumption does the body a lot more harm than good!

Though there's no disputing that the body needs sugar, sometimes people unconsciously go overboard consuming sugar in drinks/soda, desserts, chocolates and much which not only cause tooth decay but also take a toll on overall health.

Eating a lot of sugar causes poor oral health (Readers Digest)
There are pointers to when its time to lay off sugar consumption and these three are most common:

1. Oral health is affected
Excessive sugar consumption is bad for oral health. Sugar is one major cause of bad breath and tooth decay, cavities and gum diseases.
Eating too much sugary foods encourages bacteria to breed and thrive in the mouth resulting in poor oral health.
It's best to cut out overly sugary things/sugar generally. To keep this in check, brush after eating anything sugary especially before you go to bed at night.

Too much sugar affects the brain's perfomance (Rosanna Davinson Nutrition)

2. Excessive weight gain
Overly consuming sugar is one fast way to be obese! High sugar intake is a fast way to gain weight which eventually overworks the heart. When sugar is consumed in high quantity, the body's insulin level fires up getting in the way of normal metabolism.

3. Poor memory
Lack of concentration and poor memory/memory loss come as a result of high sugar consumption.
High sugar intake fires up the sugar level which slows down the brain after cutting down on the energy it needs to function properly. In the end if sugar consumption is not controlled, this can be a major issue

HealthStress Management Ways To Avoid Stress by Amosjaj(op): 10:46pm On Aug 14, 2017
Stress is a part of life, and you can’t always avoid it. But you can try to avoid situations that can cause it, and you can control how you respond to it. The first step is knowing your own coping strategies. Try tracking your stress to record stressful events, your response to them, and how you coped.

After you know what is causing your stress, try making some changes in your life that will help you avoid stressful situations. Here are a few ideas:
Manage your time
Time management is a way to find the time for more of the things you want and need to do. It helps you decide which things are urgent and which can wait. Managing your time can make your life easier, less stressful, and more meaningful.

Stress Management: Managing Your Time
Look at your lifestyle
The choices you make about the way you live affect your stress level. Your lifestyle may not cause stress on its own, but it can prevent your body from recovering from it. Try to:
Find a balance between personal, work, and family needs. This isn’t easy. Start by looking at how you spend your time. Maybe there are things that you don’t need to do at all. Finding a balance can be especially hard during the holidays.
Quick Tips: Reducing Holiday Stress
Have a sense of purpose in life. Many people find meaning through connections with family or friends, jobs, their spirituality, or volunteer work.

Get enough sleep. Your body recovers from the stresses of the day while you are sleeping. If your worries keep you from sleeping, keep a notepad or your cell phone by your bed to record what you are worried about-to help you let it go while you sleep. For example, if you are worried you might forget to run an errand the next day, make a note so that you can stop worrying about forgetting.
Insomnia: Improving Your Sleep
Adopt healthy habits. Eat a healthy diet, limit how much alcohol you drink, and don’t smoke. Staying healthy is your best defense against stress.
Exercise. Even moderate exercise, such as taking a daily walk, can reduce stress.
Get support
Support in your life from family, friends, and your community has a big impact on how you experience stress. Having support in your life can help you stay healthy.
Support means having the love, trust, and advice of others. But support can also be something more concrete, like time or money. It can be hard to ask for help. But doing so doesn’t mean you’re weak. If you’re feeling stressed, you can look for support from:
Family and friends.
Coworkers, or people you know through hobbies or other interests.
A professional counselor. (See tips for finding a counselor or therapist.)
People you know from church, or a member of the clergy.

Employee assistance programs at work, or stress management classes.
Support groups. These can be very helpful if your stress is caused by a special situation. Maybe you are a caregiver for someone who is elderly or has a chronic illness.

Quick Tips: Reducing the Stress of Caregiving
Change your thinking
Stressful events can make you feel bad about yourself. You might start focusing on only the bad and not the good in a situation. That’s called negative thinking. It can make you feel afraid, insecure, depressed, or anxious. It’s also common to feel a lack of control or self-worth.
Negative thinking can trigger your body’s stress response, just as a real threat does. Dealing with these negative thoughts and the way you see things can help reduce stress. You can learn these techniques on your own, or you can get help from a counselor. Here are some ideas:
Cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) helps you cope with a problem by changing the way you think. How you think affects how you feel. To learn more, see the topic Stop Negative Thoughts: Choosing a Healthier Way of Thinking.

Stop Negative Thoughts: Getting Started
Problem solvingProblem solving helps you identify all aspects of a stressful event, find things you may be able to change, and deal with things you can’t change.
Assertive communication helps you express how you feel in a thoughtful, tactful way. Not being able to talk about your needs and concerns creates stress and can make negative feelings worse
