@op, its possible. As far as its the same phone number (unless if its not) that is connected to your acct, money can be transfered.

You do not need to register with 737. Since the number is connected to your acct, it can be used to recharge your line and transfer money.

When I started using 737 to recharge my line and send money, I never had a pin. So it means anyone could use my phone number to make transfers.

So when I realised that, I quickly applied for use of PIN before any transaction.

So in your case, u have no ATM card and no pin. So the person simply had a free way to your acct.

Can I sue the bank? Because it's simply not my fault base on your explanations..

Well the can only use ussd code, since you said there is no internet banking app in the phone or Debit card.

But in order to use that ussd code some details are required like account number, etc

And you said there is non of your accounts details in that phone


Then write to EFCC, ICPC and CBN.... I remember there was a case like that in naira

Hello folks. Please I really need your input on this matter because I'm kinda confused on the whole issues going on.
My phone was stolen at a friend's event on friday, before Monday my gtb account had been wiped.
Please note they I've never applied for any atm on this account, I've never done any withdrawal, online banking, 737 stuff, etc. I only make deposits through transfer from my other bank(strictly savings).
What I don't understand is that the bank is blaming me for not blocking the line as soon as the phone got missing. According to the bank statement, some transfer was made to some an account, and airtime of 100k was bought on different phone numbers.
But my question is how did they get to sign up for whatever means that was used to do these transfers without contacting gtb(since you cannot sign-up on any activities without going to the bank)
Please guys I need your advice because I'm actually thinking of making a legal case against them
