I heard the Andale song a couple of times it was played in the house and it was subpar. Not that bad of a song, but no wow factor to it either.

When Hermes was invited over and over again for shoots, was he in the limelight? A lot of the people you see on TV commercials are not necessarily in the limelight but are still making their money as models. Your point is moot.

The simple fact that his singles does not leave a lasting impression on the listener and his song does not have the je ne sais quoi that makes tracks a hit. Mediocre. Not necessarily bad, but not great.

Yeah but music is harder to break into than other art expressions. There are lots of truly talented ones that will never blow. So mediocrity will never cut it. I think Bryan has a good singing voice and I've mentioned that a couple of times but that's not enough to be a break out star in the naija music scene. Well, if all else fails, his mum can always rent a shop in balogun market and stack it with Turkey wears for him to sell. Laslas na omata way.

Popularity does not equal success. There are lot of people that are good at their craft and very successful at it without being popular, so your point is moot.

As for what he does,the important thing is that he's known within the circle that matters to his craft. He is patronised for his artistic expression because he's good at what he does.

Every publicity is good publicity. He was good, but will come out from this a star. I never said he was rich. Why will he turn down a chance of making 100m. Is he mad? Even rich people won't turn down the chance of making that amount of money.

Hermes is not one to toot his horn or brag, but I saw him casted in some music videos even one of Davido's. If he wasn't good at what he does, why will they want him in their videos in the first place? So yes, he's doing great in his field. Hermes oozes art from his pores. He doesn't even have to move a muscle for his expressions to be conveyed. He's sought after for what he is, a true representation of art in a human body.

And about being pursued by a music producer, I believe almost every successful artist in the world have experienced this so its nothing new.

I used the word aesthetic which technically means 'outward appearance' in this context.

But why are we not feeling his singles he already released though. If it was great, it should have caught fire by now. If it's the same songs he played for those producers, it might explain why they're a little hesitant in signing him.

I wish him well, but music isn't for everyone

Apple and oranges. I agree with you. This is a big break for Hermes. He has the charisma to be even better at his art. For Bryan however, if he was talented musically, his singles would have taken off by now considering the publicity he has gained so far into the show. He might be due for a career change.

Yeah Don Jazzy also made a post about being the one that reaches out to all his signees. He also had a screenshot of the messages he sent to the signees before taking them on-board. His point was, if you're good, I'll be the one to reach out to you don't break my door down. Methinks it's a subtle sub to Bryan and his momma.

Hermes didn't claim to be failed musician like your fave. He's a video vixen and a model and has made many an appearance.

It's sometimes people that don't have a whole lot going on that will think fall back to music as a last resort. Not everyone is cut out to be a musician no matter how good they think they are. 9 weeks in the house and no one is bopping to his singles. Let him dust up cert and get a 9-5.

True. If he was all that he would have blown even before the show especially as he's from a well to do family. I remember he told the story of how his mum took him to the house of a famous music producer to see if they could get a record deal and the person left them standing outside without attending to them or let lose his dogs to give them a chase (might be exaggerating on that last part ).

I'm thinking the music producer in question was Don Jazzy. We all know whose aesthetic Bryan copied. Copycats don't get far in the game. What do we need a knock off Rema when we already have the real thing.

Hermes is really gaining momentum, people that slept on him have started waking up. Me that voted passively for him last week went hard this week. Hopefully if he makes it into the finals, I will vote harder. I refuse to accept the fact that the prize is between 2 contenders. Anyone that makes it to top 5 or 6 this week has a fighting chance to clinch the win.

No! we really don't have to choose between those two. Hermes is still very much in the running and I truly believe he can and will win that prize. I was scrolling through Instagram today and Olorisupergal asked her followers who they thought was going to win BBN7, and a good portion of the commenters named Hermes, some Phyna and very few said Bella. Stelladimoko also asked her readers same question and Hermes came up quite a number of times too. If this question was asked few weeks ago, I doubt anyone would have actually called him. If these people truly believes he can win, why can't you! There's a lot of PR going on with the others, but people are starting to see who the real star is.

Hermes is building momentum every day. Real people love him. Check out BBN comment section on instagram when Hermes is posted. All just love and you won't find one negative comment. I'm not content with him just being at the final, I won't be satisfied till he's declared the winner of BBN S7

The guy is one of a kind. I would really love Hermes to win the money, but with Phyna and Bryaan in the picture, the chances of that happening are kinda slim. But he's a winner already, he's gonna do so well after the show.

I don't discourage myself because of Bryan or Phyna's fans. If Hermes had an early nomination like those two, he would have had a formidable fanbase but even with his early disadvantages, nothing is stopping him from clinching that crown.
