I am very sure of this because on of my uncle is an agent of bet9ja. And almost 90% of all his cashiers has been taken to Ojo Police station because they use the money that is meant for business to fire bet9ja and end up loosing it

I am an agent and I know how this things happen but I am surprised both the manager and the agent did not noticed the shortage till it reach 130,000 loun loun . 130,000 is not a small money I'm this business and no way my cashier will have #5000 shortage without me detecting on time .

Though the court has set you free, but this is Nigeria where the rule of law don't apply.

The big man who owns the shop may give money to the police to re-arrest you. He may also insist you pay from your salary, even when the court has set you free.

let me share this experience with you
a friend of mine owns a bet9ja shop and one day he was working as a cashier since he has less hand that day.
he observed that about 16k plus in his visual account disappeared.
as a former banker, he run a tray of all the transaction and couldn't see it.
he called his super agent who said he has never experience such and advised him to send mail to bet9ja which he did.
after like a week plus, he was credited with the exact amount meaning that the problem was with bet9ja.
that might be your case if you are sure you didn't play game with it.
you can imagine if it was a cashier that happened to that day.

The court can get a lawyer for you if you dont have. Whenever you are in a dire situation like this,ask for the leave of the court for you to get a lawyer to defend your case. Some lawyers present at the court will defend you when you ask for their assistance. The absence of a lawyer defending you made your case worse. Dont pay him if the court verdict does not touch on it.

There are a lot human rights issues in your case if you can find a good lawyer to defend your case. It is a civil case and did you pay the police N30,000 as bail or pay part of the debt? There is no law that empowers the police to act as a debt collection agency.

Under no circumstnce should the police hold you for more than forty eight hours. Thats another civil action you can take against the police.

Money cannot just disappear like that like when Betnaija has a detailed record system, you used your boss money to play game and lost or you used it to solve a pressing personal issue; Stop all these half truths.

I have a friend who owns a betting shop and his staff did exactly what you did and he arrested the offending staff.
What you did is setting your employer's business back.
Its a case of defrauding your employer and you got jailed for it. Case closed.
He can go still back to court to ask for his money to be recovered, you are not fully out of the debacle

Don't know...but would think that's the end of the case since that's how they usually end.....guilty/not guilty...if guilty fine/imprisonment or both. But how much more did you need to pay back if the fine was 10K? Why would you choose to go to prison instead of paying the fine?...is prison conditions now luxurious? Am not a lawyer but I think u have served ur verdict/term, 6months in prison or option of 10k fine.

But the court fuckedup sha, how will they give u option to settle out of court and on d day of settling they slam you with a sentence. Lawyers in d house is this normal?

Anyway, your case closed! U have done what d court asked. U don't owe nobody shìt. Goan look for a new job.

Your story is not complete. For a court to jail/fine you, it has to first find you guilty of something. What crime were you charged with, tried and found guilty of?
