Was the trial in a high court or at a Magistrate court? If it happened in a Magistrate court, ask your lawyer to move the case to High Court where he can ask for a judicial review of that trial citing bias of the judge to the other party. Ask for damages from the police and your former employer for trampling on your fundamental human rights detailing how you were detained in their cell for two weeks and all the bribes you were forced to pay them apart from the N30,000 you paid him at their station. If you institute a case of fundamental human rights on this issue, they will either come and beg you or forget about the money because the police knows what is involved.
