Business / Re: Data Shows CBN Not Defending Naira With FX Reserves - Businessday by Anatolia: 2:56pm On Apr 18
Whether it is propaganda or not, the appreciation of the naira is to be commended after they almost ruined it. If they can also work on reducing the cost of fuel to around 300 or 400 people can breathe. For now, things are very bad due to the stupidity of Tinubu.

IfnobeGod20:
When we talk their defenders will say we are the enemies of the country, that we always wish bad luck fo the country. It is now clearer that we are the real lovers of the country while they are the enemies, that doesn't want better things for the country. How would a government be using her own reserve to be defending the naira? The reserve that serves as collateral and confidence to investors to come to the country to invest. They have gone to many countries to woo investors to come and invest in Nigeria. With the depletion of the reserve, which investor would want to come and invest in a country with unstable reserve. So that their investment will go down the drain in their own very eyes. We are in to a very serious trouble in this country but the hailers would not allow us talk. Hailers the enemies of Nigeria.

Do you prefer to have money in the bank and be suffering? I tire for you oh. Forget investor confidence.

I am anti- Tinubu but Cardoso is doing a great job of doing damage control to the stupidity of Tinubu impulsive economic policies. Anything that needs to be done to rescue the naira, I support it 100 percent.

Politics / Re: More Pressures On Pockets As Food Inflation Rises To 40% by Anatolia: 1:42pm On Apr 16
As long as the cost of fuel is high, the appreciation of the naira will have minimal effect on things produced inside the country. The cost will only go down if government can reduce petrol to 300 or 400 naira.

I wanted to shout what do women want but on a second thought I came to the conclusion that they like a nice guy with a bit of craziness. If you are too nice, they will treat like shit. If you are too hard, they will run away from you. So be nice and be tough on when necessary and they will stick by you.

The way we hate each other in this country, I wonder why we are still one country. Those who are boasting have nothing tangible to show. There is hardly any part of Nigeria that is doing well economically yet people will always use any opportunity to lambast the other tribes even those who call themselves intellectuals. I do not see anything intellectual in constantly degrading people who are not from your tribe.

The three major tools of evil politicians are 1. Bribery 2. Propaganda/lies and 3. Intimidation. APC is using all three in full swing to the detriment of Nigerians.

What kind of subsidy are you paying for supplying nothing. Anytime they want to generate more revenue, they will claim they are paying subsidies. The three major tools of an evil government are bribery, propaganda and intimidation and we can see that in action.

These are mostly western constructs - they apply mostly to the west, especially the USA.

Only Gen Z and Alpha apply to Nigeria (and Africa) because technology makes the world smaller.

All other prior generations in Nigeria na generations of suffering and corruption and unintelligent religion...

Gen X, downwards is a global phenomenon. As for boomers, I don’t think it affects us so much because we were not so involved in the world wars. The challenges facing millennials and gen z are the same across board.

You do not like the answer of your question.

Things cost money, sadly. If you want 24 hour power, you pay the price for it. Or you take your bad power without complaining.

Your assertion doesn’t make sense when you compare the Nigerian situation to other countries in the world. Most people in advanced countries can’t survive under the conditions you are supporting. You are defending the indefensible.

Because the cost of things has no respect for your wage.

If it did, I would be buying a Ferrari tomorrow.

Government paying subsides over the years is a big reason for our debt mass.

You have not answered my question.

Tinubu is the price we pay for collecting bribes for political contestants, allowing ethnic sentiments to becloud our sense of reasoning and cowardice. The cost keeps getting higher and higher. At this point, only God can come to Nigeria’s rescue. The people are helpless.

Unfortunately the cost of production of electricity has no respect for anyone's purse especially the government

What cost are they incurring when they are producing nothing.

Yeah and it can't be for all because we aren't paying cost reflective tarrifs.

In the big countries everyone pays a cost reflective tarrif, and also pays enough in tax for government to pay some form of energy subsidy for the very poor, not for everyone.

In Nigeria, not only do we don't pay a cost reflective tarrif, millions of us openly steal electricity and as a result the power companies don't have enough money

Yeah , even the profit they made last year...they owe far more than that to the gas companies. We haven't even mentioned the one they owe the tax man.

Forget politics, forget apc pdp nonsense, me I never voted for apc in my life, but it is a thing that the only way to let a business run well is to allow it to charge the prices they set. And to never pay then consumption subsides

We've subsidise power for decades. Time to try something different.

You are free to disagree with me.

My question is how can the cost of 24h power supply be higher than the minimum wage? There is no where the average monthly minimum wage is less than the cost of 24 h electricity supply.

I don't think we need to divide the country but to change our system of government revenue sharing.

Let every state or region generate their own money, then pay taxes to the federal.

Development always start from the grassroots, and it's easier to develop a small place than a big one.

As we talk, economy of Lagos only is bigger than alot of countries listed there, so imagine uses 95% of her IGR on herself for everything excluding only military and ambassadors. U will see a state with 247 power, trains, trams etc

How do you know the economy of Lagos is bigger?

To the best of my knowledge, Lagos is not the only state in the SW. Why is the template not work in other states (Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, Ogun) Tunubu has major influence on before now.

Lagos was built by Federal government when it was Federal Capital just like how they are building FCT now but Rivers state is being build by Rivers. Mention any significant landmark project owned by Lagos state or Tunubu when he was a governor? Lagos is one of the dirtiest state in Nigeria with a terrible Road network

Maybe tomorrow, when Federal capital is moved another place, and FCT is made a state, they will claiming of building FCT.

Almighty Tunubu has been given Nigeria to build, we can see how he is building it now.

Don’t mind their empty boasting.

It is only sheer economic ignorance and lack of statical knowledge , that will make someone to think that because your tribe is well-represented in the few richest people in Africa, it means you are doing well. The question is what is the average purchasing power of the tribe this people come from? Because Dangote has consistently being the richest, does it make the northerners richer than the south? The wealth of a society is measured by the distribution of resources not by the number of few billionaires hoarding money.
