Why is it that all of them are now claiming to belong to the low class whereas their action and inaction shows otherwise. Being a bus conductor or a street hawker isn't a prerequisite, prerequisite is his ability to lead, govern and better the life of the masses. Ezehrobinson: Good evening forumites, I just finished reading Robert Kiyosaki's rich dad and poor dad and I realized that I've been financially illiterate all these while. I was really impressed to come across this topic. Please I want to know the procedures involved in buying treasury bills cos I have dormant cash in bank. I would also love to know if the 10% interest on 91days is calculated per month or just 10% for the whole three months. Thanks in anticipation as you guys help me in my quest for financial intelligence.
PS: Is treasury bill and shares, which is better? The 10% is your interest calculated per year hence for 3 months, you will divide 10% by 4 = 2.5%. For the three months, you will have an approx. mathematical interest of 2.5% for the 91 days. |
Properties › CV Writing For Engineering & Construction Professionals by ANBAKO(op): 10:01am On Jun 07, 2015 |
CV Writing for Engineering & Construction Professionals How to Write a Good CV
How to write a good CV? What CV layout should I use? There is no single way to construct a CV; it is your document and can be structured and presented as you wish but you should adhere to some basic principles. This guide will provide you with some dos and don’ts, useful tips and a template specific to engineering professionals.
What information should a CV include Dos and Don’ts?
Layout
DO: use clear headings; space information out clearly; use a simple standard font; use bullet points DO NOT: use different colours of text, use hard to read fonts, have large blocks of hard to read text, use tables or text boxes if possible
Personal details
DO Include: The essentials such as; name, address, email, telephone number, DOB, nationality DO NOT Include: Unnecessary information like; religion, favourite book, children’s names
Education
DO Include: Tertiary Qualifications; Diplomas, Degrees (BEng, MEng etc), Industry Specific Qualifications DO NOT Include: Secondary or Lower Qualifications or Non Professional
Skills
DO Include: computer programs and proficiency, professional certifications DO NOT Include: unprofessional certifications or personal skills
Work Experience
DO: list all of your experience in chronological order; list any projects clearly with values and locations; summarise your role and responsibilities for each role; use bullet points to emphasise key achievements or responsibilities; stick to the facts! DO NOT: Leave unexplained gaps in your CV; have large paragraphs of text outlining everything you have ever done within the company; make any negative comments towards previous employers, state salary earned
Useful Tips
Hobbies and Interests, if you decide to include these, keep it short! Decorative borders are not considered to be professional A good CV should ideally cover no more then three or four pages. Aim to ensure the content is clear, structured, concise and relevant. Using bullet points rather than full sentences can help minimise word usage and allow potential employers and recruiters to quickly assess your suitability for a role. Large rambling CV’s that are difficult with large blocks of text or bad formatting may simply be discarded, hiring managers and recruiters do not have time to carefully read CV’s from front to back so make your experience leap out! NEVER USE BLOCK CAPITALS IT IS HARD TO READ AND POOR GRAMMAR A good CV needs to be tailored to each job application. Check your CV carefully for grammatical errors and spelling mistakes Ask an 'independent' party to review the whole CV before it is sent out. __________________________________________________________________

DesChyko: How did he lead by example? What and what did he do when? Isn't that the title of your thread? We're here for that information. Where is it? If we also have to obtain that information from the Nigerian Army records offices, just say so. You dont sit inside AC eating 517 Million naira food annually while telling your starving soldiers to go and fight some lunatics without ammunition. You lead from the front in situations like this in order to motivate your men. This is what Buhari did. They did not employ civilian JTF or Local hunters. It was simply leadership!. Secondly he did not deny that we have a problem of terrorism then, it was publicized and effectively dealt with unlike your oga @ the top that was saying BH were cultists, armed robbers etc. He even denied that 200 girls were kidnapped until after 3 weeks. I am not clueless like your Ball-less Mr. clueless (PhD) to read. You can go to the Army records to know which war tactics and strategies were adopted!!!! GMB/OYI 2015 OYI -fresh air!!! |

DesChyko: The key information isn't contained here. How did he end it using his military experience in a military regime? The details. So we can see if we can draw out a solution using a democratic experience in a democratic regime. Using military experience in a democratic regime spells out 'Odi 1999' Key info here is that the terrorists were defeated, How? By leading by example.Simple!!! Using military experience in a democratic regime spells out "victory 1983" and not "cluelessness". Sai GMB/OYI OYI - fresh air!!! |
Politics › Re: How Buhari Ended Maitatsine Crisis by ANBAKO: 9:02pm On Jan 05, 2015 |
Skillz02: Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) retired General Muhammadu Buhari if elected he would end Boko Haram insurgency like he ended the Maitatsine crisis in the 1980s. Buhari disclosed this in a video of his meeting with youth volunteers in Lagos released yesterday. In the video, Buhari spoke on issues ranging from the economy, stabilizing the naira, politics and his stewardship at the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF). He also repeated his call for peaceful elections and for citizens to protect their votes. He spoke about how his regime’s success in fighting domestic terrorism. He reiterated his decisiveness in dealing with enemies of the Nigerian state, recounting an episode when Chadian troops killed Nigerian soldiers, during the regime of Hissene Habré. This was despite the fact that Nigeria was giving petroleum products to Chad at that time. “Unfortunately for him, (Habré) those Nigerian soldiers were under me,” Buhari said, to laughter from the audience. Speaking on Maitatsine crisis, the former head of state, recounted how the problem recurring after the leader of the group was first exiled by the then Emir of Kano, then returned and was killed by the police. When the group resurrected in Adamawa, Buhari said: “I flew into Adamawa as head of state, and that was the last you heard of Maitatsine.” In the video Buhari took his time to explain his role in events like Nigeria’s observer status in the OIC, the so-called $2.8 billion ‘missing’ funds during his time at the NNPC, his time at the PTF, the famous 53 suitcases, among others. That is a visionary, fearless and real leader, man and sane person. The bolded says it all unlike our ball-less Mr. Clueless who hid under PEJ wrapper. They even denied that 200 girls were kidnapped by BH. See how government mumu reach. May we never see evil again!!! Sai Buhari |

Politics › Re: 10 Reasons Why General Buhari May Not Be Our Needed Messiah by ANBAKO: 8:42pm On Jan 05, 2015 |
oluwagream: To all the APC e-thugs, I'm not a PDP warrior lol. And To the PDP Warriors, I'm not a sympathizer. I'm just a NIGERIAN, which is difficult for most of us to admit these days, as a result of our political interests.
Let me just go straight to the points.
1. He's not a man of his word:
One thing most of the APC defectors have always held against GEJ is the fact that "He is not a man of his word" . Ok, let's assume that its true that GEJ promised not to contest again in 2015, what can we say about GMB, Who came out publicly to promise not to contest after 2011? I leave you to ponder on this From above, Both of them are not men of their words but GEJ does not even have words, mouth, tongue to talk. Go and watch his interview with Christiane Amanpour
2. His "holier than thou" attitude is suspicious. Why must he always come out to preach about his holiness at all times? It looks hypocritical to me.. Your though here is just assumption. Not guilty until proven unfortunately GEJ has been proven to be unholy. Mere fact that he surrounds himself with the like of Bode George, Tompolo, FFK, Ibori, Kashamu has open his yansh. How can an holy person leave 200 innocent girls languishing in captivity of BH? How many life is lost to BH everyday?
3. Lack of Outside-Power achievement: He has not achieved anything since 1984, when he was kicked out of power effortlessly by IBB, please can anyone of us point to a singular achievement that GMB has been able to do? "A man who thinks he can only achieve anything through political power, may never achieve anything, with or without it" But you believe he has a lot of in-power achievement like quenching terrorism within months which GEJ cannot do in 3 years now after NGN26B security vote and $1B loan for security. Now I am going to educate you on GMB's post presidential achievements: He was the chairman of Petroleum Trust Fund in mid/late-90's which developed a lot of infrastructures across the nation. Guys in Federal institutions will remember the buildings constructed, Buses for student transportation, Equipped laboratories, Libraries etc. He also served in his state of Katsina.
4. He is too old.(Excuse my cliche).: I wonder why no one is paying attention to this. GMB is 72 years old, Why should Nigeria, with 65% population under 28 want such a leader? After they enter, they will spend all our money on Health check-ups and the likes abroad. Even Jonathan, who is 20 years younger than GMB looks 68 already, as a result of the unprecedented complexity of ruling a country as big as Nigeria. Is this not another "Yar'adua in disguise?" Let Elder Statesmen Remain Elder statesmen. Age is a relative thing. If we are talking of age both of them are old.If as you said 65% of the population is under 28 years then the best shot should be like 40 -45 years old. What are we even talking about? Life expectancy in Nigeria is 52 years hence both of them are demographically and statistically dead. Lastly, I even see GMB more physically fit than GEJ.
5. He's a ethnocentric politician, who only garnered few love in the south west, by the virtue of ACN/CPC merger. Buhari has always been a Boko Haram apologist. One way or the other, the APC always have a conspiracy theory which states that GEJ is systematically killing northerners. This has done nothing to reduce the crisis, infact, it has formed a basis for recruiting boko haramites, who have been brainwashed with this deadly "conspiracy theory" This is not true for someone who chose a Yoruba and igbo has his running mate in his elections, who was voted for massively across Nigeria. Where are you proof that he is a BH apologist? If GEJ think GMB is guilty, why not arrest and prosecute him. All these about is fallacy and baseless. Ignoring the infrastructural development of the south west is not ethnocentric? The ommission of the west fro key position in government is not ethnocentric? He even proclaim it in Ekiti. I will develop Ekiti if you vote PDP ....meaning no PDP no development.
6. He has an history of Inciting his followers. You all know what I'm talking about so, let's move on to... At least he has followers. BTW he is a politician and not an ungrateful opportunist like GEJ whom the whole country fought for during the Yar Adua saga and whom the whole country voted for but left us in the hand of BH. Unfortunately GEJ does not have followers to incite except his bandwagon of uncorrupt "stealers" that oppress and milk our country dry
7. He hopes to ride on the back of "bandwagon"youths, who are everywhere screaming "Sai Buhari' even when they don't know the meaning. During his tenure, he never did anything to better the future of the youths, which he was part of then. I wonder who he's going to represent this time around, pensioners? as stated earlier, GEJ is only running on the back of militants, theifs and corrupt politicians. BTW we say Sai Buhari because he is Mr. Capable
8. His only political asset is "Integrity": This is laughable. This shows the level of moral decadence in nigeria, where integrity is the most valuable trait. What of leadership, visionary, consistency? etc? Where were you in 1983-85? GMB"even without WAEC certificate" has shown exceptional leadership, discipline, courage, imagination, incorruptible and lastly integrity all which GEJ lacks even with his PhD.. Even a foetus know this, it is audible to the deaf and visible to the blind
9. If Jonathan is a "weakling", who is he? At least, Jonathan has been able to uphold our democratic life. For 5 years Buhari interrupted a democracy in 1983, and lost power in just 12 month. How many month will he be able to hold on to power this Time? Do the maths,(and please factor his age into your maths too). Life is not just about mathematics, it is also about statistics, science and art so quit that sh.it. He had 2 years in power but the impart was felt positively for decades what of GEJ, he had first chance (first 2 years as acting president), he squander it, last for years was also squandered. He cannot even go to Chibok to see first hand what is happening there. Ball-less president, that his why he is #5 on the list of Nigerian current president.
10 His Political Party is PDP's Recycle Bin. Its obvious. From the chairman, to few other chieftains, APC is full of PDP politicians who fell out of favour with the presidency, hence their desperation. How will a party, which claims to be law abiding, threaten to form a parallel government if the election is rigged? Now HOW WILL APC DEFINE RIGGING? This question will only be answered after the election and the events that will follow.
Don't you now that recycled object is better than waste (PDP politicians). How will a government who cannot protect his citizen from BH can now use the same soldiers to intimidate citizen to win elections? A government that does not consider stealing as corruption be law abiding? A government that justifies missing of $20B, $350000 for 2 cars, NGN510M for food, billions for private jet....They are law abiding.
Maybe its time to look further than these two candidates. Sincerely, there's no "CHANGE" in the picture of these twos I just wonder where other candidates are It is just time to look the other way. We have been looking in the same direction for 15 years with no result....let us change .....Change! Change!! Change!!! I am not a warrior but an agent of change, a supporter of change and a supporter of GMB/OYI & APC. Sai Buhari GEJ till 2015 |

Op, Even though I don't like PDP, GEJ etc This your info is flawed. There is a difference between installed capacity and generation. Installed base is the amount of power all the equipment and facilities (Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Dams)can produce if all of them are working while generation is the actual amount of power (in MW or GW) being "pumped out. I can authoritatively tell you that Ghana has installed base of 2.8GW while Nigeria has an installed base of over 8GW. Nigeria is generating 4MW while Ghana is presently generating less than 2GW.
Finally you forgot to add that Ghana is generating their power using gas/crude oil from Nigeria while we dont have the same gas to power our own country.
We need change.
