Hi guys, I have a quick question regarding my POF. I'm a single applicant and have about 1m fixed deposit(gotten from a property sale) which I just did last week and I have around 600k in my savings account waiting for some allowances which is about 300k to be paid around next week. That would make it a total amount if 1.9m and I want to know if submitting a copy of the fixed deposit certificate plus my saving account statement would be accepted considering the lodging date of the fixed deposit and the 300k allowance.
It will fly...Good luck

On a serious note all jokes aside
Big shame that those temporary school buildings which Jakande designed to be replaced within ten years are being used 30 years after Jakande left office.
Fashola would not send his own children to the schools where he enjoyed free education less than 35 years ago!
It is a big shame that many of those schools, just like many of Lagos residents do not have portable water or toilet facilities. Never mind laboratories, workshops or sports facilities.
LASU has become one of the worst universities in Nigeria. How can you people live with yourselves?
Why didnt Jonathan leave his family to school in Otuoke? How many of our politicians (APC and PDP) has their children in Public school? Please just be truthful to yourself for once. Why did you singled out Fashola? What is happening in LASU is happening everywhere....Abraka, IMSU, Kogi state, Kebbi state universities......

You are talking about facilities as if if you go to other states you will find them abundantly.. If you want to criticize do so without being partial...

Per Mrs. Bridget Nunoo, head teacher, First Star, Fagba, Lagos,
private school teachers in primary school are paid N12,000 per month. Senior staff between N20,000 and N30,000 per month. You are talking about ignorance? State pays less!
http://www.punchng.com/education/private-school-head-teachers-seek-better-pay/

If they even get paid!

They pay foreigners http://www.seekteachers.com/jobs.asp?country_id=62 a wooping N300,000 to teach in Lagos is that fair that outsiders get paid way more. APC is truly the government for the Elite by the Elite.
From you just wrote above, I see you cannot differentiate between National and state issue. Who determines minimum wage?
Every odd things that happen in Lagos is the fault of Fashola. Do you know that Federal Government also has stake in Lagos? How many housing estate has PDP govt build in Lagos, affordable or luxury? How many investment has Federal Governemnt of PDP brought to Lagos state? Please save us some time and quit this.

Note: I am neither a supporter of APC nor PDP

What a nice write up. Unfortunately, until our people stop to "idolize" religion at the expense of God/Allah/whatever you believe in, this tirade of religious clashes will remain. People worship the Church more than the God they serve. What is even religion? To me personally, it just an association. In nigeria religion has turn to an industry, Multi-billion dollar industry. This industry milk us in many ways, no tax, collect your tithe and offering, receive fund from Government.
They lately even become political with CAN accusing Muslim society of sabotage and vice versa. Shame without end!!!! Politicians are now their God. Flying around in private jets at the expense of their poor followers who will still go ahead and kill each other for their "religion".

Religion leaders who are suppose to be a sort of check and balance to government and voice for the masses is always mute but when GEJ comes around na the prayer of all the congregation will be focused on him...what a hipocrisy.
Thank you jare

Health › Re: Lagos Has 1 Million HIV/AIDS Patients? by ANBAKO: 7:14pm On Nov 30, 2014
plendil:
Pardon me sir, your post is ridden with ignorance.

Funding for HIV?AIDS control programs, especially the PEPFAR-based (which arguably takes the largest share) has been on a steady decrease despite the fact that there's been more patients placed on medication in the past few years. The foreign donors have insisted that the Nigerian government take up more responsibility in the care of their patients. So the 'artificial inflation' of figures (if it exists) has no effect whatsoever.

The prevalence figures are obtained from a variety of sources such as general hospital attendance, anti-natal attendance, outreach testing programs (like the one usually held on Dec 1st, etc). Of course, not every single Nigerian has been tested; but through some complex epidemiological and statistical processes, we can get the current prevalence with a fairly accurate degree - close to 95% accuracy.

I doubt if you've ever taken a trip to the HIV clinic of any of the major teaching hospitals to see the crowd there. That could explain your rather naive belief.
You are pardoned!!! And my post is not ridden with ignorance but facts, facts that are hard to swallow for people who believe in what is unreal. The funding is decreasing because Oyibo no dey fall mugu again. They know that these figures are "fabricated" using complex epidemiological process (your word). Why is funding coming again for Polio after it has almost been eradicated almost a decade ago? 'Because simple statistic shows it is coming up again (in Northern Nigeria). These donors know that our government is irresponsible per issues like these so they will not allow govt to spoil what they have started. They will never expect anything from government. There is no matter of complex epidemiological and statistical process that can convince me. It is my personal belief. Period!!
I have been to the HIV clinic in LUTH and it is not filled with HIV infected people but people coming for HIV test. You mean 1 million people go to HIV clinic for treatment and counseling in Lagos? where? which hospita? not even half of them, not even one-tenth......
Why dont you answer the simple question that was in my post? That is simple statistic and not your Complex epidemiological process that cannot show the simple way data was collected.

This is not a debate but my personal view, if you like fly with it, if not , you have your own mind.

You want to be a leader? What are your qualities? You are crying fowl play because you believe that becoming a leader automatically means wealth which is what it is in our country.

An average Nigerian youth is corrupt an he is only thinking about money. This is the genesis of our problem. Everything is money. Greet someone in the street, next thing is " bros, what did you bring for me". The lower cadre officer will not do his job unless you drop something. We want to prove smarter than your fellow man. Was at the Airport 2 weeks ago enroute one of the Latin American countries.
At the Lagos airport, After check in with Delta, I was told to proceed to do screening with these port health inspector (because of Ebola). I got to her she was like you have to fill this form but I will fill it for you. Thank you, I said. But you will do weekend for me to which I said "I have nothing on me" Her attitude changed immediately. She return my form to me and even tried to stylishly hide my passport. I just told her immediately "don't cover the passport"

See the likes of Reuben Abati....writing all sorts of article against government, as soon as he got Abuja contract...everthing change. This is because we have no values. Labaran Maku...shouting on top of his voice in late 80's/early 90s...now what is he doing....all because of money.
Unfortunately it we youth that will still fight each other that they should continue. Remember 1 million youth Match for Abacha? GEJ own don dey start now. What a shame. What of Bode George?

There is no sense of service in our society. We lack responsibility and our values and concience was long thrown into bar beach...washed off into the Atlantic maybe to the other side because On that same journey, I got to one the countries where I had stop over, see courtesy, I don't speak their language (Spanish) but they provided me someone (Airport staff) to help throughout my stay in the airport. I was even given a free pamphlet for translation....Those are people. Sense of service, maturity, national pride.

Abeg jare....Let us change our attitude and we will be leader of today and tomorrow because the men of yesteryears has overstayed their welcome.
Health › Re: Lagos Has 1 Million HIV/AIDS Patients? by ANBAKO: 5:21pm On Nov 30, 2014
Even though I believe in protected sex or only one partner (I prefer the later), I strongly believe that the figures of HIV infected people being published in Nigeria is not real. I believe people, Government, NGO, health societies are just inflating these figure in order for the foreign aid associated to HIV to keep coming. Do you know how much foundations like Bill and Belinda Gate foundation, DFID, USAID etc donate to NGO and government to combat HIV? Of course the figure will keep increase in order to increase the funding.

How did they do the statistics?, where and when was data collated? Did ever state these? No. Because all the figures is just "permutation and combination".

Ask yourself a simple question how many people do you? and how many has HIV or died of HIV? How many of the people that you know someone with HIV? If yes how many do they know...How many poeple in your street died of HIV? How many in your school, church, office, Mosque is infected with HIV?My believe is that HIV infected people are less that 1 percent of the population. Take it or leave.

Protect yourself.

Hello guys. Am new here. I think this is a great initiative, just like the travelling to Canada Thread. My first question is whether a lawyer qualifies under any of the eligible professions. The second one is whether I can apply in Canada instead of from Naija here. The second question stems from the fact that I already have admission for Masters of Law from a University in Canada and I'll soon be applying for Study Visa and I hope to get it. So am planing to apply for the FSWP in Canada.
Lawyer can qualify based on the role and responsibility presently. You can apply from Canada. But do not forget that you will be needing a lot of document from Nigeria..... Good luck

France? The worst colonialist ever. I just dont just like anything about them. Sorry to post this on ur thread op. They make useless policies and make life difficult for our african brothers under ther rules. Their govt policies o, govt foreign reserve and accounts o, contracts o, etc everything na France. Just repackaged slavery. All their colonies are suffering n smiling. Ask Benin, Bukinafaso, Mali, Togo, Ivorycoast n co.
It is real slavery of the 21st century. The french has eaten through all their colonies and now recolonizing them. No francophone country president can survive without the support of France. Ask Lauren Gbagbo of Ivory Coast. It is the francophone countries that you will find a predsident of 30 years (except Mugabe)..See Biya of Cameroun, Deby of Chad, Gbasingbe of Togo, Benin etc. As soon as the president do not meet their condition, something will happen....either plane crash, coup or loose election.

The french control all aspect of the life of Francophone countries. I was in Ivory Coast, and every where I go for business meeting is french, refinery-French, Power plant -French, Transportation -French, Bank - French, Malls -French. Even the French military base occupies the left side of the whole expanse of land to the airport. That is why anytime something happens, the french will highjack the airport..meaning no one is coming, no one is going.

Chad i s another disaster, the french airforce are the main user of the airport runway. The guys will just be blowing and out.

Niger - French colonize them and their uranium

Togo ....

Guinea - this is just visitation to the slaves. How to encourage them to produce more because most of the french there have ran away which has led to reduction in production from " Guinea Farm"

Please dont ask me what I do in all these countries.... smiley

I don make tire...(like Ghanaian friends say)

Thanks damkollins. After i obtain the stamp on my passport, does it mean I only have 1 year duration to enter Canada ? What if i get the stamp and dont travel till after 1 year? Then since I would be getting a year passport, when i get into Canada, is there something i am to do to reflect the 5years, or I have to renew it after 1 year?
Yes you need to enter Canada within that 1 year. If you do not enter Canada, your visa will expire which means you have to start the whole process again (resubmit another application, ECA, IELTS etc). You are not getting a year passport but a year visa. A visa is a legal document that allows you travel to the issuing country, in this case Canada. It is when you get to Canada that you will be given Permanent Residence (PR) Permit which is what all these is all about and which i believe is valid for 5 years.

Good luck.

You are a very dangerous person. It seems you have missed the last 20 years in molecular genetics, molecular epigenetics, systems biology and complex systems and you write from a fundamentally misinformed base. Let’s just get this straight, you don’t understand how genetics works in a developmental context, and that’s a shame because information ONLY WORKS IN A DEVELOPMENTAL context. You have consistently unabashedly demonstrated that you fundamentally don’t understand, and rather will not even consider the probabististic nature of developmental processes. Your 5th grade conception of biological processes does not qualify you to possess the opinions you have which is because you write in pop-blog. The only thing that bothers me is that people with even less understanding might read your misinformed opinions and mistake them with a scientific consensus.

UPDATE!!!!

14:00pm - The diagnosis is out and the doctor says Hamed has "Liver Abscess". This is caused by an infection of the liver and he has been put on antibiotics in the hope that the infection will be cured.

The illness started about 3 months ago (according to Hamed) and hopefully, it has not gone beyond treatment.

The consultant mentioned that with the treatment he is getting, his urine will increase which is how the fluid accumulated in his belly will be passed out and hamed confirmed that he has been urinating frequently in the last couple of days.

Hopefully, there won't be a need to operate or have a transplant.

Thank you TEHN. Short and precise!

Ok...let us get this straight. I did OND in this institution and I know this building very well. The building involved is not any complex. It is one of the first buildings on the campus which houses deans offices : electrical, mechanical, civil and agricultural engineering.there is a lecture hall that is all. Ado poly is a sophisticated institution Eben as at 16 years ago when I got admitted. The building that houses labs, workshops, staff offices are not affected. These building a solid and state of art educational equipment are installed for learning. There are few institutions in nigeria that can boast of what ado poly has in term if technology. The mechanical workshop is well equipped, automotive workshop is superb, go to the civil and electrical labs.....there is actually a glass production plant under the department of glass tech..(cannot remember the name) ado poly has the best foundry workshop as at 2000.

My concern here is that a student campus of that enormity dos not have any safety risk mitigation plan and taught us safety. Definitely the institution is not practising what it preaches.....
