Ekpekus: @Damikollins thank you very much for the IELTS materials you sent me via mail. they were so helpful. just checked my result:
Speaking: 7.5
Reading: 8.5
Writing: 7.0
Listening: 8.0

i believe this earn me the maximum 24 points? or will there be an additional 4points as said by @solomonwis
24 points. There will be no additional 4 points unless you write the French test and pass with required scores.

Goodluck.

While i agree with that, i guess you should check up
the details of each occupation (Engineering) on the NOC.

Based on that, I still firmly believe that Constuction Mgr/Estimator and Civil Engineering
fit in best to claim the required ponts for Work Experience.
What if he is practising his project engineering in the field of mechanical or even computer/electronics engineering?......what I am saying is that project engineering is not only about construction or civil engineering. It is a broad role in the engineering field.

twentyfourseven: Closely related occupations are Construction Mgr and Construction Estimator.
You might not be so sure. Project engineering can be virtually in any engineering field.
@ fingertips, please clarify which area of engineering you are into.

Good luck

What a confusing write up. This is because it initially states that the cost is between 1.5m to 1.99M for i10, grand, ascent, elantra and so on. As if the cost of ix65 will be 1.9M whereas only i10 and grand cost within the specified range.....

Laudable development anyway......God bless Nigeria.

House,

I am declaring total asset of 26800CAD, a liability of 4300 CAD (I owe my bank), and encumbered sum of 22500 CAD for a family of 4. But the evidence I am showing which include my pension, account statement, and shares (stocks) equals about 50000CAD even though my Account statement and stock equals 22800CAD. Is this ok?

House..... Solo, Damkollins, Scrollmeout, technolee, Ferdimako and co.

Thank you all for the good job. After my last question about common mistakes, I got answers which are so helpful because through them, I found 2 important mistakes that I made and further scrutiny shows that a document is not included because of my oversight.

Now I have to wait till Wednesday to submit because the doc in not in English Language hence I need to translate and certify it. I will also make amendment as per issues on the form. It is better to wait till Wednesday and get all the necessary doc than get the whole application returned afterwards.

Dear Forumite, It is good to ask questions. Please do not be overconfident. Ask questions. Try and be 105% sure that all is right before sending your application. At this stage, I have spent so much to stop, I am deep into this to retreat.

In short, it is good to be here and let's keep up the good work.

Good luck.

BTW, I was ban for 2 days but I don't know why.

House,

Please anyone with experience with payment with Bank Draft should advise me. I am the principal applicant and I got this Bank draft from GTBANK.

In the CIC payment form, it was stated " Name of Payer (if different from Principal Applicant)" and "Address of payer (If different from Principal Applicant)"

My question: Am I the payer? I am asking because there is no place on the bank draft where my name is written.

Secondly, The letter from my employer does not have any e-mail address or phone number. Will this fly?

Meritl: Hello house.
Please I've got a number of questions.

1. How do I write my name in my native language in IMM5669.
2. Under "military or paramilitary service", can I fill yes, based on NYSC levels.
Thanks.
I dont think that applies to a Nigerian because we use the latin alphabet but for people of arabic, chinese, japanese, hindus, korean, bulgarian, Russian, Ukrainian, georgian or isreali origin where they have different alphabet/signs/codes, these are mainly the ones that needs this.

Meritl: Hello House. I just got a worry that I call "little".
I took my passport photograph from Photoshop. I showed them the specifications but, when I took the passport home and measured with my Ruler, I discovered that the passports were about 3 centimers
Longer than the (35X45mm) stated size.
Do I need a retake or its still in order.
Thanks.
I think you meant to say that the passport is about 3mm longer and not 3 cmm which is equal to 30mm. The latter means you were given double the required size.

If the difference is 3mm (not 3cm)......I dont think that should be an issue.

Good luck.

damkollins: You are right.....guess my explanation of it is ambiguous.
Even though I've not have any translation done,I believe it is expected that a translator have affidavit to support his or her business .If it is also a legalized translator by the government ,he or she will surely have a firm backing to support his claim in terms of affidavit.......if he doesn't have,an applicant can insist on his doing affidavit to make it legal.
Also, caution needs to be exercised in interpreting the third point you stressed as the way you put may mean the original native document needs to be included after certifying it.This is the reason why it seems my initial explanation is ambiguous too.
I'm sure you know that you are not expected to send any original of your document to CIC except IELTS,ECA and possibly PCC.
Now if you are translating any document......a photocopy of the original document in native language needs to be made and certified........this is called certified true copy which carry the same weight of importance as the original document.Instead of sending your certified original native document, you will send the certified true copy of it which is what CIC itself explained for "certified through copy".
There is no reason to certify an original document in its original state again.
I hope I'm able to explain further the ambiguity in my earlier comment .
Like I said.........I do not believe Nigerians have need to translate......certify or notorize their documents.......I didn't do any of these and i was okay.
Cheers.
DamKollins,

Thanks for your input.
Per the third step in my post, I stated "Certify a copy of the original document in the original language".
I think that is clear enough to understand.

Lastly, it will be so naive (with due respect) for you to think Nigerians have no need to translate....etc. We have different conditions. As I said on this forum I have 6 document to translate and I know at least 4 applicants, Nigerians, that need to translate 1 or 2 document. This whole thing is not one-cap-fit-all thing. Everyone has his own condition. Someone with a birth certificate in CHINESE, Someone with BSc in Ukrainian, Someone with police certificate in Portuguese etc.....

Thanks for your input and good luck.

1.Average processing period from date of submission as updated last from CIC website is 31months.....that's like 2.5 years .Personally i think it's btw 2 and 2.5 years.Currently,Accra is still rounding off FSW2011/2012 applications .

2.I always like to be positive minded regardless of how hopeless the situation is.September is not too late for submission ....but all still depend on your NOC been actively pursued by other country nationals.

3.Everybody in the application package needs to provide birth certificate and so not related only to the principal applicants alone.

4.You are only expected to notorize only your sets of documents or supporting document that are in your native language..I'm sure you are a full blooded Nigerian like myself and i believe mostly if not all of our document's are written in English by default..........which means I'm quite sure you don't need to notorize them.If however you have any document of yours written in your native language ,You will
A.Translate it
B.Certify the translated copy
C.Notorize the certified copy
You will include the certified/notorized original copy in your application and also include the photocopy of the original copy in your native language.
Cheers .

Solo, I think there is a point of correction about translation process.
All that is required is as follows

Translate document from original language to ENGLISH or French
Translator should swear an affidavit that translation is correct
Certify a copy of the original document in the original language.

All 3 must be combined to make a perfect translation.

See excerpt from CIC website

Translation of documents

Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:

the English or French translation; and
an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
a certified copy of the original document.

Note: An affidavit is a document on which the translator has sworn, in the presence of a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the translator is living, that the contents of their translation are a true translation and representation of the contents of the original document. Translators who are certified members in good standing of one of the provincial or territorial organizations of translators and interpreters of Canada do not need to supply an affidavit.

Important information. Translations by family members are not acceptable.

Certified true copies

To have a photocopy of a document certified, an authorized person must compare the original document to the photocopy and must print the following on the photocopy:

“I certify that this is a true copy of the original document”,
the name of the original document,
the date of the certification,
his or her name,
his or her official position or title, and
his or her signature.
Who can certify copies?

Persons authorized to certify copies include the following:

In Canada:

a commissioner of oaths (authority to certify varies by province and territory)
a notary public
a justice of the peace

Outside Canada:

a judge
a magistrate
a notary public
an officer of a court of justice
a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the person is living
Family members may not certify copies of your documents

barinnbomi: Hello guys,

Do a HND holder send degree from his ND and HND to WES for evaluation
or the HND is alone?

SHALOM

ND is a prerequisite for the award of HND thus your ND certificate will be required by WES to do a complete evaluations.
I think that you need to send both ND and HND for assessment else they might think you attended a 2 year post -secondary education.

See below excerpt from WES website.

VOCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION : Polytechnics, Teacher Training Colleges, Colleges of Nursing and Midwifery
What to Submit How to Submit
1. Clear, legible photocopies of all diplomas issued by the appropriate awarding authority
e.g. Certificate of Registration issued by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Nigeria Certificate of Education
AND To be submitted to WES by applicant.

2. Academic transcripts for all post-secondary programs of study to be sent directly to WES by the institutions attended.

This is my personal thought.
Good luck
