solomonwis: You don't have to renew it before sending in your application. Your application is treated as valid as at the date of receipt.

You can however make arrangement to renew the passport once your application has been forwarded.
What if the passport of any of my dependents (Son) is expiring in January 2015? Do they need to apply for another passport before I can submit my application?

House, Is it allowed to start filling a form electronically, print it out and later complete it (the same form) by hand (Writing with Pen)? This is in respect to forms like IMM5669E with the tiny spaces.

solomonwis: I don't have experience in translation of documents except of course with those embassies who have official translators in Nigeria but I do know there are official translators around Ikeja high court in Lagos.

Maybe others in the thread can help out. You can also read up on the threads relating to this on NL (Germany,Ukraine,Norway, etc).
Thanks for your input.
What is CIC format/requirements for translation of document?

solomonwis: Please go to ikeja (if you are in Lagos). There are translators around ikeja high court who would also notarize the translated documents for a fee.
Solo, Thanks for your response above but unfortunately this has not answered my question.
What is the format for translation?
Does it require official stamp, signature, address, contact details of translator?
Does it require copy of translator's certification?
Who can translate the certificate? Certified translator or any competent person (with sworn affidavit)?
Do I need to notarize it? or just an affidavit will do?

The reason why I am asking these questions is because i want to save some money on translation (close to 50k) and it is only possible if what is required is just a translation from a competent person (schoolmates/friends)with sworn affidavit.

I need serious enlightenment on this.

House, I ran into a lil' confusion per form IMM5996E. Do I and my spouse need to complete separate forms? or do we jointly need to complete a form?

If your country of permanent residence is Nigeria, then the answer is Accra Ghana.

House, I have 6 document in a language other than English and French. What are the requirements for translating document to English Language? Can anyone apart from family members translate it? Must be translator be Certified? This is because I have friends who can translate the document correctly but they are not Certified Translators.
Kindly advise!!!

Below is the excerpt from CIC website on translation.

Translation of documents

Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:

the English or French translation; and
an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
a certified copy of the original document.
Note: An affidavit is a document on which the translator has sworn, in the presence of a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the translator is living, that the contents of their translation are a true translation and representation of the contents of the original document. Translators who are certified members in good standing of one of the provincial or territorial organizations of translators and interpreters of Canada do not need to supply an affidavit.

Important information. Translations by family members are not acceptable.

olasalamis: Good evening guys, i need adequate information about my concerns as stated below?

1. I have worked for close to 10 years in 3 different organisations, my question is do i have to get letters from all the employers stating my job functions and a lot of other things or do i have to just get a letter from the employer i have matching job description according to the NOC

2. Can i submit double application i.e my wife and i separately to increase our chances. We both have jobs that are under the NOC list

3. Once you are granted the visa, what will be the duration of the visa in the first instance and what is usually the latest date of entry into Canada or must i go immediately
1. You need to get letters from all your employers in order to get the max point for experience even if they are not matching the NOC under which you are applying

2. You and your wife can submit separately but Personally I will not advise that. Why not do a single well-packaged application with all necessary document. There is high chance that the mistake you will make in one application will be repeated in the second hence it will be a case of 2 blind man and the double chance will be jeopardized. Again looking at the financial side....it is just unimaginable. My final word.....a correct, complete, well-packaged application will just be enough

3. I think you are given a certain period of time to travel. I know a friend who did not migrate fully to Canada until after 30 months of being offered PR although his family (wife and son) already settled there and goes there for visit. I think 4 times during those period. He is just in Nigeria due to his work. Another friend that works with NLNG did the same thing.

Kosefowora: Hi

Generally its best to use what she is officially known as. If her official documents eg passport, school docs, work ID have her maiden name by all means use her maiden name. If her official docs have her married name please use her married name for the IELTS.
IELTS in Nigeria (British Council) deals with mainly international passport hence let the name appear as it appears in the passport.

Please is there anyone one with Evaluation experience CES of Uni. of Toronto?
My document (and those sent from my school) got to them since 27th May and got confirmation, deduction of payment, a portal (with login detail) on their student portal...since then nothing.

Any advise? Should I write them or still give them some time. Average evaluation period is 3 weeks.

UnknownT: I guess u didn't see Cahill's half volley against the Netherlands
I saw the goal but I personally think it does not match the 3 goals above. Top 10 till date - Yes.

My personal opinion though.

technolee: You are the man @ANBAKO. My case is like this; I have a 3yrs3mnths work experience with a coy but 1yr6mnths of it was for a function outside of the NOC I am applying for. Would my 1yr9mnths give me 11points because of the years spent altogether?
My thought is that you will only be assessed based on these 21 months which will earn you 9 points.

Why don't we just start from the beginning. Because I guess that your points are not adding up and you are looking for a way to augment this.
I may be wrong though.

Answer the following questions

Age Range
Education
English proficiency
Work experience
Adaptability

Per your question, I am not so sure but I will not want you to gamble. Ogas in the house (Solo and co.) please come and rescue me......!!!! smiley

technolee: whao! That is way too small. What will a proof of relationship in Canada earn too? Will the maximum point of 10 be awarded for that??
You will get 5 points for having proof of relationship in Canada. Only previous work experience in Canada (at least 1 year) will give you 10 points.
Good luck

After watching another brilliant goal from James Rodriguez of colombia, I decided to come up with this piece.

1. Robbie Van Persie's (Netherland vs Spain)

2. James Rodriguez (Colombia vs Uruguay)
3. Lionel Messi (Argentina vs Iran)

Add your best goals in this ongoing WC.

olas2u: Forget about land in that area ,you may regret it .
Olas2u,
Thanks for your comment.
Kindly give your reasons for your comment above.
Why do you think one can regret it?
I saw the place as fast developing area only with poor roads (Which is very common in Ikorodu anyway cos all the roads are in bad shape)
Properties › Should He Buy This Land? by ANBAKO(op): 11:28am On Jan 05, 2014

Document: Family Reciept and survey (not yet sighted)
Price: 600K
Owner: Family (claimed it is a virgin land meaning it has never been sold by the family to anyone)

Comments are welcome on the price, location, conditions on ground .....Thanks.
Happy sunday.
