Many people have complained in silence about the occasional occurrence of suddenly waking up around bedtime or early in the morning with the inability to move and the feeling that a presence is resting on their chest...the usual thing then is to try to shout Jesus or God or Allah and after a while, it seems they are able to chase the demon away and regain their ability to move and talk.

Its actually called Sleep paralysis, aka yoruba's call it ''Ogun oru'' ( nocturnal witchcraft ). its most commonly due to a normal none-disease state called Isolated sleep paralysis. the occurrence is associated with stress, insomnia, sleeping with your face to the ceiling, bad sleeping habits among others. Remedy can be achieved with good sleeping habits, sleeping on the side or face-down.

People generally attribute the occurrence to a spiritual attack and are usually silent about it. and prayers are usually said to try to overcome, but all you need is just good sleeping habits and see how it disappears. Cheers
