Congratulations to Nigeria. Keshi and his players played just like professionals. I like their mentality. This mentality will really help them for the World Cup just like it did for qualification and AFCON. Ethiopians need more experience... grin grin grin

With the Walya Ibex of Ethiopia arriving today for
Saturday's final world cup qualifying match against the Super Eagles, officer of the Ethiopia football federation media department, Enyew Girmachaw has confirmed that over 1,000 Ethiopian fans will be in the country for the game. Girmachaw revealed that 500 fans will storm Nigeria from Ethiopia, while another set of over 500 will arrive from South Africa and some neighbouring countries.
Meanwhile, with the Ethiopians still expecting to go
through, former Nigeria international, Tijani Babangida has described the East Africans as dreamers, whose dreams will not become reality on saturday.
In the same vein, General Secretary of the Nigeria
football federation, Barr. Musa Amadu says the Super Eagles players know the stakes and are fired up for Saturday's battle.

If dem like, let them bring the entire country, its stil 6-0.
If 1000 pple come calabar, who will now govern d country? That's like the entire Ethiopian population.
That is a great news for Ethiopia!

By the way, Ethiopia is not a small country. It is the second most populous country in Africa with 92 million people. You don't know Africa but support a team trying to represent Africa, kidding. grin grin grin Surprisingly, this play off is unique as it is going to be held between the top two most populous countries of Africa.

9icegee: u r not gettin de point. If the qs is, 'was d bus tht carried the super eagles stoned and one of d players injured'? The answer obviously is YES. No one is saying weda ethiopians love nigerians or not. Even if It was just a handful of irate fans tht did it de deed was done. Its not often d whole stadium tht chants racist songs but all it takes for ur club 2be fried is a handful of guys doing it? I hope u get it now
You got part of what I wanted to say. What I can say at this point is there is no conclusive evidence or photos of the attack. In the era of smartphones, how is it hard to show a photo proof of the attack? Yes, if it really had happened, it was done by few shameful, immature fans.

9icegee: for all those doubting, u can read tht then tell me supersport is lying
ng.supersport.mobi/football/super-eagles/news/131014/Eagles_bus_is_stoned
What the supersport said seems to be the word of NFF. If it is the words of NFF, then we have to see if FIFA punish Ethiopian Football Federation. But some of the complaints seems exaggeration, like traffic and cockroch infested bus. When I am typing this, I am in a traffic jam and I have no choice as many main roads in Addis Ababa are closed or half closed for construction. I don't know how it is possible to nurture or bring cockroches in a luxurious bus. Maybe they saw one or two small ones.

This is not to deny anything. But we have to be truthful. If any Ethiopian body is responsible in any wrong doing, they have to be punished but I can assure you that most people never saw Nigeria as enemy as depicted by NFF or Nigerian media. The people on the photos are evidences of how they treated Nigerians.

Would you send me any video statement form Nigerian officials or players mentioning the incident? Seeing is believing. I can't trust a BBC written in Lagos that will use the same newspaper.

I walked long distance because of lack of transport. I had no time to snap pics while there is transportation problem, grin grin grin Fans were only annoyed by their bad luck and experience of the team. The eagles did well in playing poorly and giving lots of chances to Antelopes, which antelopes wasted.

Nigerian fans were roaming around the city. These photos were taken when they met Ethiopian fans few hours before the game outside the Millennium Hall, where large crowd has gathered to watch the game. The reception to the Nigerian fans was nice and friendly and Nigerians were friendly too.

There are videos but couldn't upload them yet.

SportsRe: Ethiopia Vs Nigeria - WCQ (1 - 2) On 13th October 2013 by Andex12(m): 6:30pm On Oct 13, 2013
The game showed how experience matters in soccer. If Nigeria played like this with a big side, they would have been humiliated. Anyways, good try for Ethiopia and Nigeria must really work hard! Please, you are going to represent Africa for Christ sake.

I liked the atmosphere, Nigerian fans were roaming around the city but they received a very warm reception in Addis. This is good thing!

For some ranter who claim to be Somali, we are talking about soccer, peace, and fun. This has nothing to do with beauty etc, we are not in Beauty contest and even in that case, all countries have all type of people, no one is fully good or not good looking. By the way, Keshi is the most handsome coach in Africa, from what I remember.

Nigerian fans are getting a very nice treatment in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This is lovely. Did this happen before? A video and photos will be uploaded later.

Somalis at Niaraland, you are our nearest brothers and Nigerian are our West African brothers we are treating them with lots of love both men and women!

Don't be annoyed with the Ethiopian coach. He might have his reason to say that. That is his choice. He doesn't have to say Nigeria will win, lol. But I like Keshi's comments and attitude.

I am loving football. I am Ethiopian in Addis. grin A girl working near a hotel where Nigerian team is hosted, told me that Nigerian player are bullying girls passing by lol. Men never change lol ( kivenkod you are right, it is happening let them enjoy lol grin grin). She said they seem to be over confident. She said most workers in the area are wearing Ethiopian Jersey frighten Nigerians. The overconfidence of Nigerians is never declining grin which is good for Ethiopia as the weather, the support of the fans, the focus of players on Ethiopian women than the game and the underestimation, will simply favor Ethiopia. Let's see the game.

It is good to respect any team and avoid underrating. Because being defeated by a team that you have underestimated will lead to sham, division, sacking of coaches, collapse of moral, etc.

In my view we will have 1 positive outcome for Africa. Either Nigeria or Ethiopia will be in the World Cup!! shocked

RSA: Based on what I saw yesterday,Nigeria and Burkina Faso will make it to the next round.Football aside I love Ethopian girls, they're the best in Africa, even though they lack a bit of bakassi/yansh grin.Zambians is our little brother and they made us proud last pity it wont happen again for them this time around.
I am sure Burkina will be out as their next game is against Ethiopia. I am sure Ethiopia will win by just comparing the skill bank of Ethiopians with Burkinabes.

Aya hoho zare new deleee should be said after the Nigeria match. Don't be too over excited as Nigeria is a team that can pass football unlike weak Zambia that depend on long crosses and heading.
SportsRe: Nigeria V Burkina Fasso - The Premier League Has Destroyed Our Football by Andex12(m): 4:10am On Jan 22, 2013
I agree with your headline. English football will never succeed with skill less players and teams. What I feel is, almst all African teams are playing an ugly Gerard style of long cross and heading dependent game, which is sad. So what do you think is the solution? Abandoning the professional players?
SportsRe: Zambia, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia - AFCON 2013 Group C by Andex12(m):
I am so happy as I am Ethiopian. Scoring against 1 player more team who is a defending champion of just last year is a great result! I am a bit sad for Nigerians as they nearly topped to group. Sorry Niranders. However, if Nigeria is a strong team, I expect them to go in to the semi final. If they are a semi final material, they will get paste this hurdle so 1 - 1 draw is not a disaster. I am sure Zambia will easily fall for Nigeria if 9ja is 11 men team. Zambia didn't deserve it last time, they are just a surprise team that should go out of the group this time. I really don't know about Ethiopia vs Nigeria. I am sure it will be a tough game as it will be a decider for both.

ola_pluto: UPDATE: Super Eagles beat Farense 5-0 in their last warm up match. Mikel scored a penalty. IK Uche scored a hatrick, Emenike scored final goal. Not too bad going to SA. Hope we win our last warm up game against Angola.
What is the use of playing with 2nd division club while the players are first division professional players? Did Nigeria think African teams are same as Catalonia, Venezuela, or Farense? Did Nigeria play any friendly with any of the teams that qualified to AFCON? huh huh huh huh huh

I am sorry for that happened to you in Ethiopia. There are bad people everywhere. Which hotel did you use? I will spoil their name!

About the game, Ethiopia is not a weak team that you saw last year. Even last year, the eagles barly drew 2 - 2, one of the reason why the eagles failed to qualify.

This year's team is a rejuvenated side. Just check the recent statistics. In addition, The last game is less important for a "strong" side. I guess the eagles will win the first two and relax with Ethiopia. Which is good for us to either top the group or qualify. But Zambia is very tricky team so nothing is for granted on this group.
RomanceRe: Anyone Notice Ethiopian Women Do Not Date Other Africans by Andex12(m): 3:38am On Nov 04, 2012
This is just a matter of culture and social influence. Women and men are expected to marry Ethiopians. In addition, Ethiopian culture is far more different from West African or Nigerian culture. So it might be hard for West African to match in personality with Ethiopian women. In my view, look doesn't matter, body shape does but not always. However, in case anyone needs advice on this, PM me.
