This thread is based on numerous mails i received from nairalanders concerning the virtual keyboard on the new torch series.
This bug is well noted by rim and will be corrected in the next major update. The on screen keyboard appears gray and faded
making it unusable. This is due to an errror in the configuration algorithm. here is a fix. use bbsak and read system, export
net_rim_bb_vtkeyboard.cod

decyrpt and open, take not of the bolded, its a small mistake but the effect is gigantic.

Nope they wont blacklist in nigeria, the operators in nigeria can forward phone details to rim on which device should be blacklisted and why, also providing detailed level of blacklist. rim operats an online blacklist database only available to telecom operators. operators from different countries post their desired phone details fro blacklist and the technical team carry out as instructed.

Yes they can be blacklisted. The blacklist if only on nigerian networks can still work on other networks in other countries. We have e-5 and e10 blacklists. e-5 can still make calls but can never register to bis while e-10 can receive full signal but cant even check balance.

Where it comes from is not relevant. Those phones are produced with same quality and branded for the operators on demand.
If you choose an at&t phone because of the operators apps many will not even work for you with another sim so is of no use.
You can brand it to suite your style so this pole is meaningless. pick any bb you like as long as its not a cloned imei and pin you are ok.

on your home screen, type *#0011#, you will get a menu, press back, choose network info, choose wifi tx and xrx data, press custom,
input 18900 for rx and 18500 for tx.

No support for the LG- U 400, even if you bought a rebel sim card, it will not work in Nigeria. First hand experience !!!
The rebel sim would work to unlock the phone in the UK, but not in Nigeria, I do not know why.

Because most u400 come with sim voltage output of 6v while all our simcards are 3v. And new u400 now operate
on 1800 mhz and 900 that is the band operated by networks in nigeria.

Update

We now have a patched mml 4.0 running ok without rtas, you can full erase your phone and reload os with 10 meps left.
