The root cause of unemployment in Africa is not bad government nor limited industries, the root cause of unemployment is traceable to unproductive education in the African setting.

It's pathetic to note that a typical African will spend his entire life in school (6years in primary school, 6years in secondary school, 3-4years in tertiary institution and another 1-4years pursuing a master degree) spending about 20years in school only to graduate from school and come into the society as a job seeker, begging to apply here and there.

No matter your academic qualification, if you cannot graduate solutions out of your mind you are not educated, you are simply decorated.

Where we missed it all in our quest for development is that we too in a haste to make ends meet, with a survival mentality, Africa is most bless with resources but her citizens live in poverty!
We have good land for agriculture, good weather condition, unlimited mineral resources... yet the citizens are poor and the nation remain under develop 55years after independence.

Develop countries are develop not because they have more resources but because they labour for the future. They cultivate and process their treasures while we hastily trade ours.

When we finds a treasure we quickly head straight to the market square to trade it but when they finds any treasure they head straight to research centres.
When we find a treasure we ask "how much will this cost"?
But when they find any treasure they ask "how many ways can this serve"?

The challenges in our society are what foreign investors call opportunity for business. The things we cry and shout about are what makes them smile and shine... What a paradox.

We say there is no light, hence they made generators for us, thereby taking advantage of our power problems.
They also made for us rechargeable lamps which has eroded the use of candles and lanterns.

We complain of unemployment for a common man, they see the same problem, they then come into our society, buy our lands, build factories and employ us to work for them and they pay us peanuts! And yet we call them master. What a shame.

Almost everything we enjoy as a yardstick for comfortable living are products of develop nations.
When you Visit any supermarket and shopping mall around you will find out that majority of the products stock there are imported goods, from toiletries to greeting cards, wines, home appliances, biscuits, food ingredients and even chewing gums...

They buy our raw materials and sell to us the finish products.
They buy our cocoa and sell to us Bonvita, and chocolate which they refined from our resources.

We hastily trade our crude oil and we sell it to them and they refined it into fuel, kerosene and gas and sell them at exobedient cost back to us!

Raw materials in African's nations are littered everywhere, but you hardly find raw materials from develop state, what you see are their finish products.

It is more important for us to fill the potholes of our minds than the portholes of our roads.
We have more needs for mind lights than street lights.

Unemployment is not an indelible task to combat, it's all starts by having the right understanding of education and it's right application.

It's an irony to graduate as a first class student without a first class productivity to match.

This is to notify all Nairalander about the new trick of scammers in this forum, it's unfortunate that many people, myself inclusive believe that people can be trusted, we are quick to believe that people are who they say they are... But the reality of this age reveals that there the are fake people every where, a lot of people are on the street and online seeking for who to defraud...

There are scammers on Nairaland who claim to sell data, just yesterday, I came across a banner on nairaland with an inscription 'buy cheap data' 5GB- 1500, 10GB-2500, I then call the number to make enquiry, the guy told me that he will transfer the data in 3minutes and I don't need to worry, he added that he has been in the business since 8years...

I sent him the fee (#2500) via mtn recharge Card, I called to confirm the payment... he then promise to make the transfer of data in 3minutes, I kept calling after every 5minutes but to my surprise this thief refuse to pick my calls, I then thought of calling him from another line, the fool then pick the call and I pretended to be another potential customer, the idiot still gave me his tricks, I then expose him to who he is and what he is doing, without wasting time, this guy hang up the call and since yesterday until now he never picked both lines again.

Friends please help me trap this guy, please let's stop this guy from getting other innocent people, I will leave his number here for you guys to bombard him with call, please anyone who is in the investigation course should kindly track and tame this guy.

Enough is enough for people like this who takes advantage of people and making them share secret tears.

Nigeria can only be a better place if people like this are sent to kirikiri, how can Nigeria become a better place when people like this have a free hand? No!
