what age difference are we talking about here? This issue has been up for discussion so many times already on NL. Read what everybody answered.

I am 5 years older then my boyfriend and we treat eachother equal. We don't have a problem with the agedifference because we find our relationship and what we want in life much more important then these numbers.

If you love her, then go for it!!!!
RomanceRe: Pls I Nid Tips On Coping With Long Distance Relationship! by angel72(f): 1:26pm On Mar 20, 2009
i have a long distance relationship and i know it isn't that easy. Especially if you live in 2 different countries. The most important thing is that you trust eachother and have daily contact in some kind of way. By phone, sms, email or chat. And if there is a day that you can't get in touch with eachother, don't think the worst, because there is always an explanation. If you start thinking the worst you will not have a life. Try to see eachother by webcam if that is possible. Because if you can't see eachother for a long time it's taking a lot from your relationship too.

And if you really want to be with eachother forever, then make plans together to make that happen, so you have something to look forward too. Both!

good luck!

PS: i disagree totally that you should have a second choice nearby. Because when you do that, it only shows lack of character. That your not willing to do everything to make it work!
RomanceRe: What Can You Not Tolerate In A Relationship? With Reasons Please by angel72(f): 12:37pm On Mar 20, 2009
the most things are said already:

1. lack of respect

2. lack of hygiene

3. cheating

but i got problems with the following things too:

4. being to late, i like to be punctual and expect my boyfriend to be that too. If he says he will call back in 10 min, i expect his call in 10 min, not 2 hours

5. stand for what your saying, don't make empty promises! Because it hurts that you tell me one thing, get me all excited on it and then tell me that it isn't what you want right now. It's like stealing a candy from a child  undecided

6. Never take me for granted.

I guess you could say that i treat the guy as i want to be treated.

PoliticsRe: Worst Places To Work According To Cnn by angel72(op): 3:57pm On Mar 12, 2009
Just like any other foreigner working in another country then his/her own, if your not done working there and need to extend your workingvisa, you don't wanna spend money on a airplaneticket to go back to your own country and apply to the local Nigerian embassy for the extension. And i'm sure that the offices in Nigeria make the foreigners bribe the nigerians to get the extension. The only thing i have seen with my own eyes, you don't get anything done without a bribe! I'm sorry to say that, but it's true, everybody wants to have extra cash because they don't get paid well for there work. That's why i find it so important that the salaries have to go up so the bribing can be stopped.
PoliticsRe: Worst Places To Work According To Cnn by angel72(op): 3:31pm On Mar 12, 2009
@Pataki:

What i mean with more woman in politics is that there could be less corruption and bribes. I don't hear much about female politicians around the world that have been accused of taking bribes? And what i ment with more companies invest in the country i ment not that more companies should settle in Nigeria, but that they use a part of the money they make in Nigeria to invest in the country. For better schools, jobs, roads, electricity, etc, everything that can make the country going in the right direction.

@just good: don't the nigerians do the same? and not only nigerians, but every country that has this kind of visa problems?

Getting back to the topic, what would you do to get Lagos from that first place? I know traffic is hell there, but that isn't so strange since everybody just can buy a driverslicence for 5000 naira and start driving cars there! There has to be rules! And people have to be willing to obey those rules. It's not only about the traffic, it concerns all the issues Nigeria has. Everybody complains about how bad it is overthere, but is anybody willing to do anything about it? I think the biggest issue is corruption. I heard that even teachers get paid for giving specific papers, it breaks my heart, it shouldn't be this way! There need to be more woman in politics and maybe even more companies willing to invest in the country. If the payments for the jobs would be better, they don't need to use corruption, Or am i totally wrong here?

So what can you do to make it a better place?

Hi MrCrackles,

Like you, I'm not in Nigeria either  grin

But i am a stubborn girl and when i put my teeth in things i don't let go untill i am satisfied with the outcome of it  grin

Travelling to Yobe state isn't an option for me, so i will have to find other ways to reach him. I know he went with a friend, i just need to find somebody who knows that friend and has his number so i can try to reach him instead, will take a while and hope to get help from our friends to reach that goal,

I know a lot of Nigerians find the NYSC very useless, a waist of time, but do you think that this people (including you) will have a chance for a good job in Nigeria without that paper?

It's very kind of you that you want to give me your brothers phonenumber, but to be honest, i feel uncomfortable calling strangers and ask there help. Your brother and i don't know eachother so i can't ask him to help me with this. He is in the city anyway like you said and not in the village, so the chance that he can help me is zero %. But thanks anyway. Can you at least answer the above asked questions? What is there daily schedule? Do they have time for themselfs during the day? Do they have days off? Would a local offlice help me to get a message to him? Did you do your NYSC? Then you should know this i guess?

I'd like to keep taking here so that other people that are in the same situation can benefit from our diolog too. Ok, so he is in the village, bad network there, but he can have his phone switched on. Do you know the schedule? When do they have some time for themselfs? Do they have days off or is it 7 days a week there busy? I found a number for a local office in Yobe state, didn't try to call it yet to see if it is working. Prefer to send emails anyway because it can be a bad connention and then it's hard to understand eachother. Maybe i should try go get help from our friends in Lagos with the calling,

Hi,

thanks for your reply. I don't know if this NYSC camp is in the village. It must be if his phone isn't reachable. I guess i have to wait untill he calls. I'm just worried that if something happend nobody can reach him. Is there a number we could call at this camp or a local NYSC office to get in touch with him? Do you know that?

Hi everybody,

I'm new to this forum. Joint it because i have a relationship with a Nigerian guy. and wanted to learn everything there is to know about the country and the people. We are together a year now. He went off to do this NYSC in Yobe state last week. We didn't have contact by phone yet and now i am wondering if there are policy's when it comes to mobile phones and how this first month in the program is working? Tried to read about it on the internet, but didn't find out much. Can anybody tell me if you can use phones, if there is a good network up there (he has a GLO number)  if you even have some free time and if there are people out there that have the same problem? I read about problems with robberies, killing, accidents etc. Not be able to reach my boyfriend makes me worried. Even his mother and friends haven't heard from him yet.

Please serious answers only. Am not here to amuse anybody. So please not come with answers like " he probably wanna get rid of you and found this an easy way out" because i know that is not the case. We are getting engaged this year.

Thanks in advance for the answers.

hi everybody,

my boyfriend was send to Yobe state for his NYSC. He lives in Lagos normally. Does anybody here has friends out there? Tried to contact him by phone for the last 4 days, but it's never reachable. Is that because of the network or are phones not allowed in the camp?

plz, serious answers only, you all know what i'm talking about wink
