Christianity EtcThe Condition Of The Heart Of Man. by AngelahFlo(op): 6:23pm On Sep 18, 2025
Hello Guys
This post is gonna be short and straight to the ppint. It reveals and draw attention to why we do certain things and think certain way. I had to place this post in the Christian section to make the reader question the condition of their heart in certain issues and to always think before they speak or write or respond to a matter presented to them.
The Bible says "The heart of man is very wicked" and also Proverbs 23:18 says "Eat and drink says he to three but his heart is not with the for as he thinketh in his heart so is he.
The above passages reveal sketching about the nature of a man's heart out of which his thoughts and decisions arise from.
A good man is a good man because of the conditions of his heart. The factors and events that influence and encourage his thoughts and decisions which is why everything he or she does always result in good. As in the case of God and Jesus and every true believer of Christ.

It's the reason why we must be quick to judge people by the contents of their words alone. Certain factors may have mitigated why they think or speak or even act a certain way. Some may have been discouraged at some point that they now scoff at the Truth or even challenge the truth on grounds of relativity which is very wrong. The Bible says in John 8:32 "And you shall know the Truth and the Truth will set you free
The Truth referred here is not relative but Experienced Truth.
The heart of man is programmed to think and act a certain way because of the nature of Sin which is everyone born of a woman on earth. The only way to condition your heart right is by turning to Jesus for a heart cleansing. Only He can change the evil nature of the heart of man and replace it with a new heart filled with righteous thoughts. Until then no man can change him or herself. No religious activities or ritual can change it. Nothing except man cokes back to His creator and make things right with Him.

Ah, this is nostalgic!
Back in the early 2000s, life was a lot simpler, and one gadget stood out as my closest companion – the iPod.

That little device was more than just a music player; it was like carrying an entire world of sound in my pocket. Whether I was on the bus, studying late at night, or just chilling with friends, my iPod was always there. With thousands of songs stored, it gave me vibes for every mood – from gospel to hip-hop, R&B, and even those evergreen Naija classics.

I can still remember the joy of scrolling through playlists with that famous click wheel. No internet, no streaming, just pure offline music enjoyment. Honestly, the iPod shaped how I connected with music and created memories that still stick with me today.

Who else had an iPod back then? Which one was your favorite – the Classic, Mini, Nano, or Shuffle?

Let’s hear your iPod memories
I had the Classic. At that time to own one is to be a really big guy.

Nokia just refused to adapt to change.
It's the fault of their brand strategist when he made Nokia enter into a deal with Microsoft to produce the Nokia Lumia series. It was the beginning of the end and at that time with android phones getting a strong foothold with the emergence of the Techno series and the Samsung Galaxy series, that was their window to join and maintain their edge but they held back like BlackBerry and faced the same fate. They're still out there with their new android range but they joined too late. The once King of the Pack is now an Old soul basking in former glory.

Hello Guys
It's Throwback Thursday again and this time, I'm towing the line of phones. GSM came to us late in Nigeria but despite that we rocked some retro phones back then when they were the trendsetters. In this series I'm gonna be dropping about 3 popular brands that were the rave among the average and the Odogwus of that era. First on my list is the first antenna less phone to hit the markets under the almighty Nokia brand.
The Nokia 3310

This phone was very rugged when it first came out. One Ad depicted a white guy stoning an errant mouse with it. The phone's panel was so rugged that when it falls and dismantles on the floor while you're working or going about your daily activities, you can bend down and recouple your phone and it will still be functional. An upgrade of the not so popular Nokia 3200 with it's prominent antenna, this phone quickly gained popularity that it could be seen in the hands of about 7 in every 10 Nigerians you pass on the street.

Next up is another not so popular phone: The SonnyEricsson Walkman Phone range
These were a range of phone brands that was quite popular among the big boys of the Era which was early 2000s to around 2015. Don't know if still in the market. I happen to own one around 2012. Which I used to write and publish my first two short story articles on Facebook and the now defunct NaijaStories forum blog of the early 2010s.
The phone has many brand designs from the slide to the multitap version. I happen to have the slide version which is still somewhere in my room. It used an old SD Memory card of the model used on Old BlackBerry Bold 1 phones and some Cameras. Although you can use a micro SD if you have a memory card SD reader.

Finally on my list is this really high end gadget of that era. This gadget was both a phone and predominantly an Assistant. It's the PDA the precursor to the Tablets of today. This particular brand was the most popular to hit the markets in Nigeria. It was the preserve of the real Odogwus. The Sony CLIE PDA. It was used by business men and executives for the sole purpose of helping with their multitasking jobs. Before it went out of fashion, there was a multimedia version. It was like a mini tablet phone with a stylus which was used to perform functions like taking down notes and preparing a listed itinerary for the day.
This one won't be too known among most of us unless we happen to have an uncle or parent who worked in the IT or government paratstatals of that era.

Thats all for this week's retro Thursday on phones. Till I come your way again. It's me the Brand watcher and Storyteller dropping my fingers for now.

FoodEntomophagy: Desensitizing This Beneficial Trend by AngelahFlo(op):
Hello Guys
Today we're looking into this ancient common trend that promotes mixed feelings among many of us.
By the way Entomophagy is the term used for a form of cuisine involving insects so in simple terms, it's the eating of insects as a staple food.

Insects from my research has been known to be sources of protein in higher quantities than those gotten from meat or fish. And because they're inexpensive and common, they make a very popular food source among certain cultures in Africa, Asia and some parts of Europe. In Africa for instance it was a staple food source until the advent of westernization. It was after this event that made some people shy off this trend and view it with a conspiratorial look probably due to the conspiracy theories woven around it.
Truth is Conspiracy theories or not, Entomophagy is a trend that's not waning but is even gaining traction to the point that even the Western people who used to shy off it now embrace this trend fully by not making it obvious in their meals. One research I conducted list one retaurant who mixed crushed Cricket powder in addition to their mealy products so that the products can be marketable and accepted by the populace. The Bible list some insects which are considered edible and they include Grasshopper, Locusts, Crickets and Katydids etc infact any insect that hops is an edible variety. I personally haven't eaten any of this edible variety that's being touted but I've tried Termite reproductives and the Giant beetle larva that usually reside in old palm tree stumps.
In conclusion, there's nothing wrong with eating insects except those exotic creepy crawlies like roaches and some beetles.
Aside from being a source of food, some.insects like the Driver ants have medicinal value. Once my old Grandma who's now late harvested some Driver ants and pounded them in her mortar to make a potion which she administer to a friend's few months old baby. By the way she was a native midwife so she has knowledge of such things.
Entomophagy is good for you. Never be afraid to try out this cuisine on one of your cooking moments.

Would love this article to make front page so people can be educated and learn a thing or two.
Please anyone can help me tag the relevant mods for this purpose

Exact
ly what I wrote about in an earlier post. The physics showed that her calculation was wrong and disaster was in the making. That's why she even reduced the number of bags from 250 to 200. But disaster still happened.

What Hilda was trying to achieve needed precise mathematical and engineering solutions to handle that much weight of rice. The pot itself should have been polished reinforced steel.

Like I said yesterday, physics is impassionate and brutal.
I'm no physics guru but I know if she had used the same material used for constructing the normal party cauldron, she'd have consulted an engineer to construct such a pot in a massive size that will be proportional to the weight of the contents that the pot will contain.

That's one side of the coin but others shouldn't also be blamed when they tell you the girl reminds them of the trauma they had to live through. Actions have consequences and no one should be forced to suffer for someone else's indiscretion.
Still on still bro I agree but I think the girl shouldn't be made to bear the consequence of a decision that wasn't her own. She just happened on the scene to inherit what wasn't her decision or problem in the first place. I'm looking at it from both sides. She didn't chose the parents. God did. If only her real dad was alive. Her mum is just one wicked woman. For she would've either raised that child as a single mum or come clean with any potential husband like this guy on the paternity of the child and they'll work things out from there. As it stands now, if he withdraws from that young lady, it'll tarnish and damage her emotionally. She'll grow up seeking the approval of guys for the wrong reasons . I repeat I won't push that girl away. I'll support and still be a father figure in her life as I've been doing its the mum I may not roll with.

and what kind of dad lives a lie
You're right on that bro but as it stands now. That poor girl has no living dad as of this moment. If the dad was still alive, it'll have been right for her to make a reconnection but her real dad is dead as we're made to believe. It's wrong to just ostracize her just like that. The man is now her bonafide daddy as it stands. He can maintain the relationship only with her and deal with her mum's case at his discretion. It's what I'll do. This ain't a case of living a lie or not. It's a case of making the girl not grow up as a misfit and cold child in future.

RomanceOnce Bitten... by AngelahFlo(op): 2:49pm On Sep 15, 2025
Hello Guys,
This will be a rather short post or would I say a sort of narrative. I just wanna share why is it that some guys appear hard and uncaring to a female who approach them for help. It was Eldee who sang in one of his songs with an artist he featured that "If you've walked in my shoes, you'll know what it's like to be me"
As humans we've been conditioned to think that when someone behaves a certain way then he or she must be heartless or uncaring. Hmm if only you guys know...
Lemme start with my first
I met this young lady on Facebook about 4 years ago. Before then and even during that time I've met and became friends with many ladies on Facebook who have turned out to be very good friends when we eventually met. Some only became online friends till we lost contact while others simply drifted apart. Met some foreign friends from the US, Uganda and one close one from Brazil. She taught and piqued my interest in Brazilian Portuguese language. I still miss her since we lost contact when my old phone was stolen.
Nowner back to my story. I met this young lady and we hit it off right from the start. We'd spend hours chatting about romantic stuff and even go dirty. Then I knew how to spin some of the dirtiest yarns to swoon a babe. Don't know if I still have that skill since I decided to become serious with God but back then I have a way with words. Like a master weaver, I'll have a lady fantasizing online while we're chatting I was that dirty. Now I have used my artistic lyricstry to swoon this lady to the point that we decided to meet offline and that's when things went south. Until then and even after that experience I've always been a guy with a soft heart. I trust people wholeheartedly. On this day, we've agreed on a time and place to meet. She had requested for transport fare to and fro. I didn't have the full transport fare but I sent her the one that will be enough to bring her because we've already agreed that she'll source for half the transport. After sending her the money. She not only showed up at the precise venue where we've scheduled, she went as far as blocking me on Facebook for a long while and even changed her line so I couldn't reach her again. It was a big blow to me really big blow. That took some time to heal. We would later reconnect after a month on Facebook but at the time I had already lost the desire to hookup with her so we just jawjawed awhile and drifted apart.
Not long after that, I met yet another one on the same Facebook and we hit it off immediately.
This one was more matures than the previous one so I thought this one will be better but I was again proven wrong. She had asked me she was going through a challenge and that she needed some money which I had transferred to her even without meeting her and she had taken me for another simp. Since then which makes it about 3 or 4 years now, I've been wary of ladies who asked me for any form of assistance while we're still in the chatting phase of our friendship. Aside from being sidelined in relationship I've been duped twice by online money making gurus. This crypto magnates who tells you to invest some certain amount to get 3ce the amount as profit. I fell for that scam about 3 times before I wised up and decided to play my own form of game with them. What I later did was to feign interest and narrate my sad tale of being duped by former guys and they always sound sympathetic and insist that I give them a try. I'll feign interest and pretend to go along by waiting their time until they leave me alone.
So for the ladies out there we guys ain't evil. Some of us have gone through even worse than my own sad version that when we show our hard face, you ladies think we are just stingy
If only you knew...
If only you knew how many trust issues we've grappled with...
I've met several wonderful lady friends online. Some we met offline and struck up a lasting friendship till I lost their contact. Some we maintained a strong online presence till I lost their contact. Which is why I'll always be hopeful that as there are bad online ladies, there are also good ones with honest spirits ready to be friends with you.
Feel free to contribute and share or otherwise just enjoy my little anecdote.
Once bitten...3 times shy!!!

It's very sad and painful but He shouldn't cut off ties from the girl at least. Lord knows why events turn out this way. Truth is the ex should have been honest upfront and not let it get to this point. I'm of the opinion that he maintain a kind of relationship with the girl while keeping a distance from the lady. The girl's daddy has been dead years ago that makes him a bona-fide dad.
