Music/Radio / Davido's Incredible Contribution On Chris Brown's Lower Body by AngelUriel: 3:27pm On Oct 04, 2019 |
Who would have thought Davido would deliver as beautifully as he did on Chris Brown’s Lower Body? Not me. But he proved me wrong. I initially didn’t want to check the song out, but with the much hype on Twitter, I thought I’d give it a shot and listen. What I heard coming out of my speakers literally blew me away. No lies. I personally think most mainstream Nigerian music artists and producers lack versatility. Once they’ve got a style or sound that works for them, they build a career around it. Only a few acts in the industry are capable of switching lanes. An established artist or producer leaving his/her comfort zone to try something new seldom happens in the Nigerian music scene. This is exactly the reason why I think Lower Body featuring Davido is incredibly phenomenal. Lower Body is a typical afrobeat song, but on another level thanks to Kiddominant’s amazing production. The beat is undeniably African, but the melody is foreign in every sense. Davido also did well to give the song a typical afrobeat feel with his impressive vocals. Geez! Can’t believe I heard Davido singing in minors. So cool. I wish more artists and producers will take this innovative path and make afrobeat more appealing to the rest of the world. This is to all talented Nigerian music artists and producers out there: Enough of giving us the sort of music we can relate to, give us something new and exciting. If you’re yet to listen to Lower Body featuring Davido, you might not understand a thing I’ve stated on here lol. Trust me on this, it’s a fascinating song. Lower Body is one of the 10 songs on Chris Brown’s newly released Indigo: Extended edition. Other artists featured on the album include Dani Leigh, Tory Lanez, Rich the kid and Sage the Gemini. Music/Radio / Headies 2019: Zlatan Ibile And The Next Rated Drama by AngelUriel: 7:49am On Oct 04, 2019 |
The list of nominees for the 2019 Headies Award set to hold on the 19th of October has been released. And as usual, it has met with mixed reactions from both nominated acts and music listeners in the country. Fast-rising star Zlatan Ibile who got nominated in the Headies Next Rated category didn’t take it well. Soon after the nominees were unveiled, he wasted no time to make a lousy statement on his Instagram page. "We fit they the same school! Mago our department no be the same o! #KELEGBEMOEGBE O Ayiiiiii." “The minute you think you have to belittle others because you think you’re better than them is the same minute you’ve proven you’re worse.” ~ Joanne Crisner Alcayaga Quick question: Do you think Zlatan is better than the other artists nominated in the Next Rated category? Now let’s consider those in the same category as Zlatan. 1. Rema – August 6 2019, saw Rema hit a whopping 50 million streams on all streaming platforms. An incredible feat if you ask me considering the fact he’s only been around for a while. 2. Joe Boy – Rave of the moment Joe Boy sure deserves a place on the list. His songs Beginning and Baby have been instant hits. Last I checked, he’s already got millions of streams to his name. 3. Fire Boy DML – The voice and brain behind such massive joints as Jealous and What if. Fire Boy DML has become a household name in such a short while. He’s also one of the most-streamed acts in the Nigerian music industry today. 4. Victor AD – No one can deny Wetin We Gain was a massive record. The song was a viral hit topping charts around the country. Between late last year and early this year, Victor AD was the proud owner of the biggest song in the country. Since its release in 2018, Wetin We Gain has garnered over 6 million views on YouTube. 5. Lyta – Lyta is having the time of his life with the release of his mesmerizing single Monalisa. To most, he might not seem a strong contender for the prestigious award, but he sure deserves a place on the nominee’s list. Who knows, he might even be the lucky one amongst the Magnificent 6. Now back to the leg work king. Zlatan has had a successful year apparently. But truth be told, he has little or no major hits of his own. In addition to that, he only became popular last year with the release of Chinko Ekun’s Able God. It’s not even like he’s been in limelight for way over a year. So tell us Zlatan, how on earth are you in a higher class or department than the other artists on the list? Don’t forget these are guys whose songs became massive hits with no features. Zlatan is an amazing talent and I sincerely respect him, but he’s in no way bigger or better than the other acts in that category. I know his fans will say otherwise. It’s allowed This year’s Headies Next Rated Category is super-packed with incredible talents. No kidding, every artist nominated in that category deserves the highly coveted prize, but sadly, only one act will emerge the winner. Who do you think it’s going to be? Business / Re: How I Made Over 160k In 2 Months As A New Seller On Fiverr by AngelUriel: 10:06am On Sep 26, 2019 |
Starx: I had no international passport or a driver's license. Plus my identity on there was fake. Fake name, fake photo... You know how it is on there nau, how folks tend to take on false identities and use false locations just to make sales. The struggle is real lol. Some people even told me they verified their account with just their voter's card. Don't know how true that was. But then, even if all the information on my profile was true, I wouldn't have risked using a voter's card for the verification. I had about $400 dollars being cleared at that point and didn't want to risk losing my hard earned funds in the case of a suspension |

interiordesigna: Okay. So what do you suggest I use as a gig picture? A good looking picture of me or a random image that shows the services I offer? The latter worked for me during my time on Fiverr before I was kicked out lol. Awaiting your response. |

interiordesigna: Thanks for your response. I just might create me a new Fiverr account I wonder how you made it on there as a Nigerian tho, especially in the articles and blog posts category. That niche is heavily saturated, plus the white folks on there would rather give jobs to English speaking natives (fellow white folks) than people from other regions lol. 1 Like |

interiordesigna: Nah. Not talking about that phase. Everyone is usually asked to verify their phone numbers during sign up, I did that successfully. Months after I had been on the platform, I was asked to verify my account with an international passport or driver's license bearing all the details I imputed when signing up. Details as my name, picture and location. That's the verification I'm talking about here. |

interiordesigna: Hello Interiordesigna, I'm really happy for you. I used to be on Fiverr until early this year when I lost my account owing to fact that I couldn't verify it. The account was just a few months old and I was on the verge of becoming a level one seller Please permit me to ask you these question: Were you ever asked to verify your account? If yes, how was it verified? I wish to start all over again on Fiverr, but I just don't want to lose my account again after working so hard to build it. Awaiting your response. |
