In his remark, Obi Cubana hinted it is a one stop shop for a broad spectrum of businesses across the country and would love to do more businesses with the Capital Luxury Group.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, Sunday evening, reached out to Guinness World Record candidate, Hilda Bassey (Miss Hilda Effiong Bassey), and has commended her for representing the best attributes of the Dakkada philosophy of the State.

The Governor, according to his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ekerete Udoh, spoke with the Chef via a telephone call from Uyo shortly on arrival from an official engagement outside the Country.

Mr Emmanuel was full of praises for Hilda’s passion and determination to break the Guinness World record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual. He said, “This is what our Dakkada philosophy is all about; the determination to dare and conquer what others assume to be impossible.

“We salute you for putting our culinary skills on full display and of course, our nationally and internationally celebrated cuisines. You are an inspiration to millions of Nigerians, and especially our dear fellow Akwa Ibomites.

“We are all solidly behind you as you embark on this inspirational moment. We look forward to hosting you soon,” the Governor reportedly told the Chef.

Hilda, 27, hails from Nsit Ubium local government area of Akwa Ibom State.

Earlier, the Akwa Ibom State Governor-Elect, Pastor Umo Eno, had sent his message of encouragement to Hilda. The Governor-Elect in his message celebrated “the passion and ingenuity of the renowned chef.

“By embarking on this great and historic undertaking, you have brought to the fore, our unique and nationally celebrated culinary skills and rich cuisines.

“As the world celebrates you, I want you to know that Akwa Ibom State is on the cusp of further explosion in tourism, which is a key component of our A.R.I.S.E. Agenda, and we look forward to working with resourceful Akwa Ibomites like you, who are willing and ready to break the glass ceiling of accomplishments. You have done our State proud, and we are all behind you.

“Akwa Ibom will always roll out the red carpet to celebrate you and your likes in the years ahead,” Pastor Eno added.

The restaurateur kick-started the competition on Thursday at exactly 4 pm after she turned on her cooker. She aims to beat the 87 hours 45 minutes record set by the current Guinness World Record holder, Lata Tondon, an Indian chef who made the feat in 2019.

The event, which is taking place at Amore Gardens in Lekki, Lagos, is being live-streamed on YouTube, and several celebrities are in attendance.

OBASANJO ARRIVES AKWA IBOM TUESDAY, INAUGURATES 23.4km DUAL ROAD

All is finally set for the Commissioning of the 23.4km Eket Etinan Road, which was constructed by Governor Udom Emmanuel.

The inauguration of the road is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 2nd May 2023, and will be graced by the former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, as the special guest of honor.

A trip to the Eket Etinan dual carriageway shows that preparation for the commissioning of the road is in top gear as things are already in place to ensure a successful inauguration ceremony on Tuesday 2 May.

The special assistant to the Governor on research and documentation Mr Essien Ndueso who led a team of journalists on a visit to the new road, said everything is in place for the commissioning of the Eket - Etinan dual carriageway constructed by Governor Udom Emmanuel’s administration and handled by Chinese firm, CCECC.

He said the new road is the fulfillment of Governor Emmanuel’s promise to ensure a dual carriageway from the state capital to the Atlantic Ocean, adding that the new road is a continuation of the 20km Uyo- Etinan Road that is almost ready for inauguration.

Mr Ndueso said before the construction of the Eket - Etinan Road motorists were previously compelled to pass through a long and arduous route before reaching Uyo. Many had to go through Ikot Ubo in Nsit Ubium, down to Ibesikpo Asutan LGA, or even pass through interior villages in Nsit Ubium and Nsit Ibom before reaching their destination.

On his part the construction project manager Engr Samuel Ukata said the road was executed to specifications to stand a test of time.

The Eket - Etinan Highway traversing Eket, Nsit Ubium, Nsit Ibom, and Etinan, which will be commissioned tomorrow by Former Nigerian president Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is designed with road furniture like side drainage, pedestrian walkway, traffic markings with pavement and center lines as well as concrete stones walls for enhance movements.

Meanwhile Commuters plying the Eket/Etinan dual carriageway are filled with joy seeing the state government complete the road in preparation for commissioning, Tuesday 2nd May.

Some of them expressed delight on the new road , saying it will enhance their movement , describing it as smoth and sweet to drive on.

A driver, Mr Bassey Ime said before the construction of the dual carriageway, movement from Eket to Uyo used to be difficult as they take pains to navigate village roads in Nsit Ubium and such trip last for an hour but with the newly constructed road now their trip to Uyo from Eket has shortened to just 30mins.

Former President Obasanjo had earlier commissioned the longest flyover bridge in the South South, a one kilometer flyover bridge in Uyo and also inaugurated the longest stretch of dual carriage way executed by any administration in the State, the 29km Etinan - Ndon Eyo road.

“I don’t why Governor Udom Emmanuel loves me so much that he always invites me to inaugurate his best projects. I recall that I was here to inaugurate the longest flyover in the south south and now I am inaugurating the longest dual carriage road with two cable bridges”, said Obasanjo while commissioning of the Etinan - Ndon Eyo Road last year.

A new President + continuous vandalization of public property cannot bring a new Nigeria.

A new President + education not based on self-reliance will still bring an old Nigeria.

A new President + a people who blame the government for everything will not give us a new Nigeria.

A new President + leaders who want to give you fish instead of teaching you how to fish = no new Nigeria.

A new President + people who borrow money from others but refuse to pay back = old Nigeria.

A new President + people who only identify problems in the society but refuse to see it as a business opportunity = old Nigeria.

A new President + people who patronize fake prophets and live 24/7 inside prayer houses instead of looking for gainful engagements will not give us a new Nigeria.

A new President + a graduate of Chemistry who cannot produce common detergent or handwash will not give us a new Nigeria.

A new President + people who constantly strategize to rob, kill and destroy will not bring a new Nigeria.

A new President + NEPA staff who constantly rob others with inflated estimated bills will not give us a new Nigeria.

A new President + medical workers who don't see human life as anything will not give us a new Nigeria. These people hop and dance around the emergency ward which is supposed to be calm and quiet, till innocent lives are lost and they don't care. With these kind of people, there will be no new Nigeria.

A new President + contractor who has been paid to supply 300 hospital beds but he only supplies 100+ and shares the remaining money among cartels will not bring a new Nigeria.

A new President + weak institutions will not give us a new Nigeria.

Remember, these institutions are being manned by our fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters who refuse to take responsibility but constantly look for ways to steal money and gain more wealth + drive the latest Benz. Sadly, with them, there's no new Nigeria.

Technicians who purposely spoil an equipment in their place of work, so they could make money by replacing parts will not make the new Nigeria.

A new President + people who want to make sudden wealth by swindling others or getting involved in fetish schemes = old Nigeria.

A new President + people who are only beautiful on social media but not beautiful in real life, a-swear, will not bring a new Nigeria.

A new President + organic cream sellers who use filters on their photos and videos will not give us a new Nigeria.

We can go on and on and on but...

A new President + a new mindset + a personal resolve to succeed + a mindset to learn from failures + take responsibility + abhoring entitlement mentality + living a new life + taking community service seriously + living in peace with one another + having genuine love for humanity + seeing opportunities in challenges + discharging our duties professionally and efficiently in our place of work can set us on the right path to a new Nigeria.

So you see, a new President isn't the problem and a new Nigeria isn't in God's hands!

Leadership with quality followership will take us a long way, more than we could ever imagine!
