And the reason why I insisted on peace and not to drag the matter further i.e go to court, is because Wizkid and his lawyers have been apologizing since Friday, up until today! I spoke with Wizkid through his lawyer on Friday April 15th where he tendered an apology to me and said he wasn’t a violent person, that he didn’t mean what he said, that it was just an emotional outburst. And then he asked for forgiveness. Please continue… But despite forgiving him, he still had to show up at the Police HQ to officially apologize and write an undertaken which he did today.
I see a lot of negativity has come out of this case with Wizkid – with many folks bashing me for reporting a threat on my person. But here’s my consolation and why I am glad this happened. At about 9 a.m. the next day, Mrs. Maryam Yaro, a married mother of two, an assistant director and subordinate to the governor at the CBN, arrived Sanusi’s unnamed Abuja hotel, seeking to keep the date and help address her boss’ craving for a kiss. (Insiders say board members, including those who live in Abuja, are usually lodged in hotels ahead of board meetings).

But by the time Mrs. Yaro left the hotel to return to her official desk at the CBN, the duo had also struck out an arrangement to spend the rest of the week together in Lagos.

Premier League Players Hit Cash Jackpot

Nigeria Premier League players are beginning to hit the mega bucks contrary to hisses and frowns that had hitherto characterised the domestic top flight players remunerations.

The new leadership of the NPL under Davidson Owumi has hinged its priority on welfare of players and Complete Sports finding has revealed that some clubs are already paying as much as N200,000 to their players as monthly salary.

With the 2010/2011 season billed to start this weekend across the country, our close watch on the clubs especially as it affects players monthly take home reveal that Lobi Stars of Makurdi tops the chart of high paying teams.

The 1999 League Champions have abolished payment of sign on fees and have consequently jacked up the players salaries.

The first category of players earn N200,000 as monthly salary while the second category earn N150,000 bringing to N2.4m and N1.8m respectively as players earning in the season.

Heartland of Owerri also comes under this category with players going home with N.2m salary, like in Lobi stars, Heartland of Owerri falls within the category of high paying sides. The first category of the Naze Millionaires players smile home with N200,000 monthly.

Enyimba of Aba which prides itself as the Peoples Elephant rank second among teams with high remuneration index for their players.

The two-time African Champions pay up to N150,000 to their category A players. Kaduna United, at present pay up to N120,000 and plans to increase it to N150,000 come January 2011.

Sharks of Port Harcourt ranks next in the grade. They pay N100,000 to their category A players while Rangers players receive N65,000 as monthly salary.
Kano Pillars category A players earn N100,000 monthly.

Can these salaries give these players the type of opulent lifestyle that mirrors that of players in the EPL?

Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu, has rented a mansion in the elitist Maitama District of the Federal capital territory (FTC) Abuja, News Express can report this morning.

The storey building located at No. 8B, Rudolf Close, off Katsina Ala Crescent, in the highbrow Maitama District, was the abode of a former federal minister who died some time in May 2014.

An impeccable source said: “The property was rented to the Acting EFCC Chairman for N40,000,000 at N20,000,000 per annum.

“Furthermore, the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) curiously awarded a contract to Africa Energy, a company owned by Rtd Air Comm. Umar Muhammad, to furnish the residence at the cost N43,000,000, in a Government where the President is known to have frowned at and rebuked his ministers for requesting N20,000,000 each to secure accommodation and furnish them.

“It is shocking that the man spearheading the anti-corruption crusade of the government will be involved in such a venture. More surprising is the involvement of FCDA in renting a house for EFCC and under what arrangement.”

News Express made efforts to get the reaction of Magu and EFCC but the commission’s spokesmen Osita Nwajah and Wilson Uwujaren did not respond to text messages sent to them seeking their reaction to the story.

The co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls, BBOG, group, Aisha Yesufu, has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s letter to the Senate on why he cannot sack and prosecute indicted Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal.

Recall that Babachir had been alleged to have diverted money meant to fight humanitarian crisis in the North East, and the senate had called for his arrest and prosecution.

But Buhari, on Monday had explained why he cannot honour the senate’s report calling for Lawal’s arrest, prosecution and sack.

In her reaction, Yesufu called out the President, saying the reason for his defense was because he was corrupt.

In a series of tweets on her Twitter handle‏@AishaYesufu , she called on Buhari to resign.

She tweeted: “Does the President need the senate to even sack d SGF? You must not only talk tough. You must act it.
