tho. some haterz wnt agree cos their oga no succeed
Has your saviour succeeded in anything? Just one thing oh. No! The perpetual FAILURE remains just that- a perpetual FAILURE despite winning the election after THREE failed attempts.
BreadandBeans: make God just help us for this country o.. with how blessed our nation is, our electoral body is using tokunbo printers to run election too bad
A tokunbo, used, "expired" president can only use tokunbo, expired printers too for his INCONCLUSIVE National Electoral Commission, INEC, nor be so
Ozin: “What has CPC got to offer? We certainly don’t need expired leadership as we are offering the best in terms of brilliance, courage and patriotism in the class of Sarkozi of France, David Cameron of Britain and Barack Obama of the USA.”
Tinubu’s position came on the heels of Ribadu’s declaration penultimate week in Kaduna when he hinted during a political rally of a joint ticket between the two opposition parties to confront the dominance of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Why did their "printer's devil" only miss out PDP's logo? Buhari's INCONCLUSIVE National Electoral Commission, INEC is simply his tool for RIGGING elections. Yet some zombies will call him an incorruptible incorrigible man of integrity. If our hero of democracy handled INEC the same way, Buhari would have retained his perpetual FAILURE status last year, not so
APC are master riggers from the days of AC/ACN in Lagos.
Uploaded on Oct 30, 2011 This is a mobile phone video of the announcement of PDP as winners of the Badagry Central Local Government Elections with over 7000 votes. LASIEC Chairman, Justice Adeyinka later announced a different result. The lady speaking in the video is the LASIEC Returning Officer for Badagry Central on Saturday 22nd October, 2011.
smileysmiley: You said it all, you carried your placards for yourself. Think before you speak. So you think its right that this dead guy became popular cause of death? Is he Jesus? Jesus had a mission on earth, to die for the sins of the world. Was this young man's mission to die for Rivers rerun election? Jesus's death had a purpose, what will you say is the purpose of this death? Please educate me cause its not everyday we see someone who "thinks before speaking"
It is up to those still alive to draw meaning/purpose from the death of this youth corper.
What was the purpose of the death of those who fought for our nation's independence, for example? What was the purpose of the death of Martin Luther King, for example? What was the purpose of the death of Oluorogbo, the son of Moremi?
As for the highlighted parts of your above post, please see below again. Cheers.
emperorchedda: Wike should end this killing ASAP. He has bitten more than he can chew.
You mustn't win all of Rivers for Christ's sake
Did you say that after the 2011 presidential election when our "only saviour " and messiah lost for the THIRD time and he said he will not contest anymore Did you?
Emmalez: A popular Nigerian senator, has shown a sign of kindness and humility to his people few hours ago after he was pictured hanging out with beggars on the streets.
Would it not be a BETTER "sign of kindness and humility to his people" if he leads a campaign to REJECT the bogus pay he receives along with other SINators and representaTHIEVES in Abuja (compared to our minimum wage of N18,000) such that there will be LESS beggars since such released funds can ensure:
- their children are ALL enrolled in schools. - they have access to health clinics and hospitals - to create EMPLOYMENT for them so they don't have to beg.
1.The companies will take the Govt to court to reclaim moneys invested in the business...which have now been lost thanks to the reversal. And the courts will award heavy damages. After all....govt signed a contract...and if you break contracts, judges will tend to throw the book at you.
(Democracy, isn't it grand )
I hope the man does not reverse this privatisation policy. He can tinker with it to redress possible shortcomings but not outright reversal as he did with Jakande's metro in the 80s. It did not bother the military dictator that the government had to pay for breach of contract.
Splashme: The first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, on Tuesday, said that the cancellation of the Lagos metroline project in 1985 was a major mistake and disservice to many Nigerians.
Jakande spoke in Lagos during the launch of a book which chronicled his life in politics and journalism.
The book, entitled, ‘Jakande: Leadership in Action’ is written by Dr. Bola Olaosebikan, who told the audience at the event that the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), was not responsible for the cancellation of the project.
Jakande said, “Reflecting on the metroline project, I think it is a major disservice to many Nigerians. Imagine how many people would have benefitted. It would have made life easier and changed the face of transport in Lagos. Whoever cancelled it or gave the advice towards its cancellation didn’t do right.”
The former governor asked Nigerians not to vote for unserious leaders in the coming polls, saying the elections presented Nigerians with a good opportunity that should not be squandered.
Expressing the hope that Nigeria would soon overcome its developmental challenges, Jakande said hope would be actualised faster if credible people emerged as leaders in the next dispensation.
He said, “This book comes at a very auspicious time in Nigeria’s history as we need leaders who can act. We need leaders who would not compromise the standards of good governance. God has blessed this nation the most in Africa, although we have not reached where we should be; with the right leaders, Nigeria would overcome its challenges.”
The laudable POLICIES of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan yielding fruits still. Thankfully our new president has not cancelled or reversed this as he usually does.
justjeff: President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday assured that the implementation of National Automotive Policy approved by the Federal Executive Council in 2012 would not inflict pains on the people. Jonathan gave the assurance when he received a delegation of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The president, who spoke against the backdrop of criticism that had trailed the policy from certain quarters, said it would bring back the country to the right path in automobile sub-sector. Specifically, as the policy commences in March, some group had criticised the proposed increase in clearing rates and tariff on imported fairly used cars also known as “Tokunbo”.Similarly, prominent automobile dealers, Toyota, CFAO, Honda, Mercedez Benz, had late last year protested to the National Assembly seeking a review of the policy.
The dealers, who sent petition to the president on Nov. 6, had alleged that the policy was designed to favour a particular firm to the detriment of others.Jonathan, who thanked RTEAN for supporting the policy, assured that the policy would ensure competitiveness and productivity in the automobile sector. He added that the policy would assist in the establishment of automotive supplier parks and clusters and job creation.“One area I want to commend you is on the Auto Policy of Government. People have different views, but the most important body that can comment on the policy is your body.“From RTEAN position on the Auto Policy, I am quite pleased, let me use this opportunity to assure Nigerians that government cannot bring a policy that will increase the hardship of Nigerians.“If that comes up, I will abort it even midway because we cannot come up with a policy that will make Nigerians suffer or pay higher prices for vehicles.
“However, we must come up with policies that Nigerians will pay less and especially job and wealth creation and improvement on our economy.“As a nation, we spent an average of over four billion dollars in importing vehicles.“If this chunk of money, even half of it, is invested in the country to assemble and manufacture, it will go a long way. ’’“When you assemble, other small cottage industries will come up to produce one component or the other to serve the main assemblage plant. “This will create jobs and stimulate the economy. By the time you import, you are exporting jobs, but if you assemble locally you are creating jobs. That is the thinking of government.”The president thanked the association for coming to interface with government and commended its efforts to procure 4000 vehicles of various types for mass transit in the country. He directed the Secretary to the Government of the Federation to incorporate the union in all programmes in the centenary celebrations. Jonathan thanked them for decorating him with the highest honour of the association, “RTEAN Great Grand Patron” and for presenting him with a centenary card.“Your decoration is intimidating, attempting to be your enemy is suicidal because you can stop people to develop. We consider you are great partner in our development plans.”Earlier, the RTEAN National President, Chief Musa Isiwele, commended Jonathan for the Automotive Policy and the improvement in road network across the country. Isiwele acknowledged that the improvement on national highways had improved road transportation and reduced accident. He said RTEAN with over 16 million members nationwide planned to create 1.5 million jobs for young people in the next one year. Isiwele said that already, the association had commenced a special mass-transit scheme of 4,000 units of exotic brands of taxis and commercial buses/vehicles.
The RTEAN, he said, had also embarked on construction of world class transit parks and drivers academy to further give capacity to the transport operators. He said the association embarked on 1000 units of housing projects for members. Isiwele requested Federal Government’s Concessionary Sovereign Guarantee for loans and tariff waivers on all vehicles it imported. He asked for land allocation for the establishment of world class ultra-modern transit motor parks in each geopolitical zones and Abuja. He also urged the president to grant the establishment of Transport Development Bank (TDB) by the government to address critical transport infrastructures development.Present at the event are Vice President Namadi Sambo, Ministers of Transport, Sen. Idris Umar, FCT, Sen. Bala Mohammed, Solid Minerals Development, Mohammed Sada, and the Minister of State for Works, Bashir Yuguda.
cecegorz: Seems you know nothing about Nigeria's politics. National elections are usually sponsored by Governors, the more a state receives from FAAC, the more armoury in her war chest to deploy for the buying of votes. From Peter Odili sponsoring OBJ in 2003, to Ibori sponsoring Yar'Adua, to Amaechi bankrolling Buhari, money bag states are very crucial to any government.
......and the governors work through the LGAs. Abeg, nor mind the JJC o jare.
1ladyonly: If only he will seat down and stop junketing, he can. Where there is the will there is always the way. I wish this guy PMB do listen to Bob Marley Music and put it into practice.
acaolly1: I see, do you expect a miracle in 12months from economy destroyed over 16years All these economic hardship are the results of bad governance of 16years plus... It cant be revived in 12months take that
Meanwhile your saviour messiah is surrounded by those who "destroyed the economy for 16 years", including the man who ruled ruined our country for 8 of those 16 years, not so
Obasanjo endorses APC moves, as party leadership visit Abeokuta 22.Dec 2013
The push by the opposition, All Progressives Congress, APC to dislodge the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP received a boost yesterday as former President Olusegun Obasanjo openly threw his weight behind the APC’s current initiatives. The APC leadership, comprising some national leaders and governors visited him Obasanjo in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Saturday to solicit the former president’s support for the party in the forthcoming elections. The party leaders, which started converging on Obasanjo’s Hilltop Mansion around 5:22pm, included former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the party’s Interim National Chairman, Bisi Akande; former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari; former speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Masari; former Borno State governor, Senator Ali Modu-Sheriff; Senator Osita Isunazor; Senator Bukola Saraki and Lai Mohammed. Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State came to the former president’s house in company with the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commissioin, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; the former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode and others in a convoy of three black jeeps. Other APC governors at the meeting included Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Abdulfattah Ahmed (Kwara), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano) and Senator Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo). The Chairman of the New PDP, Kawu Baraje led some of his members and the former Kaduna State Chairman, Yero Makama, to the meeting. Presenting the party chieftains and the APC governors to Obasanjo during the opening of the meeting, Akande said the party was in support of the former president’s 18-page letter to President Goodluck Jonathan. The APC National Leader, Tinubu who alluded to Obasanjo’s contribution to the building of the Nigerian nation, lamented that the country was divided more than ever. Apparently referring to Obasanjo’s recent letter to Jonathan, he enjoined the former president not to shy away from speaking the truth. Tinubu added that the APC had resolved to rescue Nigeria, appealing to Obasanjo to lead the mission. “You’ve come out of tribulation and held the highest position in this country. We are here because of your courage. Nobody can say he has information more than you. You have surmounted a number of crises. Nigeria is divided more than before; to realise stable Nigeria, we want to encourage you to continue to speak the truth. We’re resolved and determined to rescue Nigeria. We want you as navigator,” he said.
obailala: A lot of bitter people just jump online to oppose just for the sake of opposing. Nothing wrong or new in what the president has just said.
Nothing wrong with a man who promised 20,000Mw by 2019 last year while campaigning for office to now say he is CONFUSED about the power sector while his fellow citizens wallow in darkness Chai, the effect of this Aisha rice plus salad must be very strong on brainless zombies oh!
nnachukz: What isn't he confused about in his administration? He is virtually confused about everything. Bubu leave governance and traveling around the globe, go and look for your land in Ph.
Now that is a wickedly powerful punch you just threw at the glass jaw of our incorruptible incorrigible man of integrity.
PhockPhockMan: But Buhari, in the document titled, ‘I pledge to Nigeria’ had also said that all his political appointees would only earn salaries and allowances as prescribed by the Revenue and Mobilisation and Fiscal Allocation Commission.
He said, “I pledge to publicly declare my assets and liabilities, encourage all my appointees publicly declare their assets and liabilities as a pre-condition for appointment. All political appointees will only earn the salaries and allowances determined by the RMFAC. I pledge, as Commander-in-Chief, to lead from the front and not behind in the comfort and security of Aso Rock, to boost the morale of fighting forces and the generality of all Nigerians.”
Islie: He said the privatisation of the sector had yet to show any improvement in the quality of service, saying it was difficult to determine whether it was done in public interest or with profit motive.
This our president is really CONFUSED. Of course privatisation is to make profits by the new owners through greater EFFICIENCY such as happened with mobile phone operators compared to LOSS-making, subsidy-gulping NITEL, not so Chai, we are in trouble with this DullardPoo oh, if he can't understand something as basic as this.
Opinedecandid: Read my comment just before yours. That guy didn't just build that house.
i just read your comment below:
Opinedecandid: Well done, the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House Assembly for performing this role.
Congratulations, Mr. Nicholas for this feat.
However, to allay some misconstruing by uninformed readers who may be misled by the title of this thread, the Governor's Aide did not just build this house after becoming an aide to the Governor.
He has been on the project for over two years.
He had a life, earned an income and was productive before his appointment.
Congratulations to him, once again.
You may wish to let us know that he has been paying his Personal Income TAX appropriately and completely to reflect the cost of this house. Is that so
AceRoyal: Do u know how many civil servants are into business due to the hash economy realities on ground? I'm a realist and nonpartisan. Don't be blinded by political sentiments or jealousy. Try to be objective and fair in ur reasoning.
I am usually anti-APC and pro-PDP so forget about your "blinded by political sentiments or jealousy." You can go through my posts here and on NVS.
Civil servants are better off ensuring they are paid salaries legitimately that are comparable with those of political jobbers like this SA and their bosses- our public SERVANTS. What do you say about a situation where a 25-year old, ATTENDED secondary school LGA Councillor is guaranteed N300,000 salary while a graduate teacher struggles to earn N50,000 for example? Do you think Nigerians will be rushing out to be under-employed SLAVES in the UK, Canada, USA etc if they also have such wide GAPS in the pay of workers of the SAME government? Think, bro, think!!!
AceRoyal: Before we cast aspersions, let us truly ascertain the source of his wealth. He might also be into business. I'm not in support of corruption but I hate to judge based on assumptions. For him to make it public in this present regime shows that he's not afraid to be questioned. #JustMyOpinion
Is he allowed to be in business while working for government? Is that legal and allowed under relevant civil service rules? Again, how much TAX do you think he has been paying to reflect the amount used to build the house
Growingboi: APC thugs should keep quiet. The house is not bad for a governor's special one, even oil workers have 2 of such house.
BTW was he living in the bush before?
Is he working for an oil company? Is the minimum wage for AKSG workers the same as those in the oil industry? Why do we short change ourselves unduly yet complain of UNEMPLOYMENT and lack of money?
What is the salary of a Special Assistant vis-a-vis the minimum wage of N18,000 such that he can afford to build suich a house? Also how much TAX has he been paying to reflect such income earned to build the house? Until we ask these questions persistently of all our public SERVANTS and the political jobbers around them we will continue to wade in the dark of deprivation:
- tap water - school enrolment for ALL children. - good roads - health clinics and general hospitals.
that can generate EMPLOYMENT and create the environment and pool of skilled labour for private sector JOBS.
