AmmarOscar: Nonsense. We are in 21st century, they're taking us back to 17th...
The Spaniards must also be taking us back to the 17th century with their tomato feast/fight that draws many TOURISTS and brings forex into their economy plus EMPLOYMENT, not so The same for (sometimes deadly/tragic) bull fights.
Memejem: I'm not sure if what these boys are doing is based in religion. But I think what the country you're thinking of is iran. The shia Muslims practise beating themselves on a particular day to pay homage to a prophet I think. The Sunni Muslims do not follow this practise.
But I don't think that's a what these boys are doing. As they collect a prize afterwards
I think that I said CULTURAL/religion. Please check my post again. Meanwhile every religion is finally a culture i.e. a way of life for those who choose or are forced by birth or otherwise to be members of the group. Not so
baum1: Bro, we are all here to grow in our faith and not to pick arguments. If you refer to my previous submissions and particularly look at Romans 13: 1- 5, you will see why that statement was made. The statement builds on a previous submission.
God's authority can be manifested through any of his governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God and the authority that exits are appointed by God. No one says an usher is God, that would be blasphemous as you have pointed out. The point is that in a genuine, true house of God, our Lord Jesus Christ is the head and every appointment is made by Him and overseen by Him so that decisions are in line with His plan.
This is the point I have tried to make. If you disagree with this, say why and let's reach an agreement that is based on the Bible so we can learn.
Blessings.
What I have highlighted is the bane of the matter. There are almost NO "genuine, true house of God" today. You may read the conversation of Jesus Christ (Prophet Isa to the Muslims) in John 4 with the Samaritan woman at the well for more insight to what I am saying. Cheers.
gurunlocker: brainless zombies will still deny this....
Don't blame the APCshit zombie followers too much, bro. Not their fault, really. First they used the party's witch broom to sweep out their brains and then gave them Aisha rice plus salad.
koboko69: I have looked at this pic several times. Can someone tell me how this cap is the same
maimalari: @op, The facecaps ain't same. Very different. Everyone in Nigeria is full of lies
Oya make you explain where the man cap disappeared into na? Abi na inside ya pocket the cap disappear enter ni? You better put on your shakomended glasses and look the pictures very well, clearly and closely.
baum1: Bless this post, bro..Disobedience manifest itself in various ways. I too in the time past didn't like being directed by the ushers but as time went on, the Lord open my eyes. Little things that we do count. Submitting to God's authority is crucially important.
I pray that bro Shumuel gets led by the spirit to realize the importance of the point we are making.
Blessings
So, according to your post, ushers are the same as God, right I guess your pastors are Super-gods then. What blasphemy!
MoltenMagma: What I narrated is the edited version becos I don't have energy to be typing epistles. I'm not paid to post on nairaland.
The guy was 21 years old studying for his license in the UK when his aunt activated the jazz she had kept for him since his birth. She used his bathwater for the jazz and bewitched him. The guy was in the bathroom bathing, in the UK, when the jazz kicked in. Water calleth unto water.
He says one minute he is bathing, the next minute he is in Nigeria. He doesn't know how he got here. And that is how this brilliant man wasted the next 30 something years doing nothing because he was under a spell. He had no wife, no child. He was just rigmaroling around being useless to himself and everybody.
When finally the spell was broken, he got the license he should have gotten in his 20s, at the age of 71.
What of the late Fatai Rolling Dollar? His breakthrough came when he was in his 70s, after struggling for 50 years in abject poverty. How long did he live to enjoy his fame and wealth before he died? What this man should have achieved and enjoyed when he was young, because of wickedness of enemies, he was only able to achieve in his old age where he spent a short time before dying.
Bro you should be the one opening your eyes, not me.
The two examples you cited are obviously short on DISCIPLINE as with most people who claim witchcraft/enemies for their shortcomings in life. How many months do you think it takes to get a flying licence? How long did your 21 year old stay in the UK before he suddenly returned home? Since when did having a wife and a child (children) the ONLY yardstick for enjoying life? Do you know how many of those who contributed meaningfully to our modern conveniences and whose name are celebrated daily NEVER had a wife/husband nor child
You should read up more on Fatai Rolling Dollar's life before using him as example next time to avoid further embarrassing yourself. You can START from this tribute in Vanguard at his death:
Rolling Dollar was born July 22, 1926 in Lagos as prince of the royal family of Fatai Olayiwola Olagunju, originally from Ede, a Yoruba town lying on the Osun, the river famously linked to Yemoja, the river goddess.
He attended schools in Lagos and was later to move to Ede at the age of sixteen, upon the death of his father. Showing a rebellious streak at an early age, he allowed himself to be drawn towards music.
He started his musical career in 1953 and had mentored other great musicians like Evangelist Ebenezer Obey and the late Orlando Owoh, among others. Known for his dexterity at playing the guitar, Rolling Dollar’s last major hit was “Won Kere Si Number Wa’’.
In 1957, he formed an eight-piece band called Fatai Rolling Dollar and his African Rhythm Band, and they recorded numerous seven-inch singles for Phillips West Africa Records. In this line-up was a young budding star, Ebenezer Obey, who played Maracas in the band. They had some hits with Phillips, then decamped to Jofabro/EMI where they recorded over one hundred and fifty singles and had many hits for the company including “Sisi Jaiye Jaiye” and “Won Bumi”.
After decades of struggling to make ends meet and musical doldrums, Rolling Dollar bounced back to life after the French Cultural Centre, in Lagos, brought him back into public consciousness. He later got a higher lift through Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while as Lagos State governor. The late musician was given a house in one of the low cost housing estates in New Oko Oba, Lagos. Juju music legend, Ebenezer Obey was among those trained by the late musician. Rolling Dollar, who had three wives and 16 children, died as the oldest surviving music artiste in Nigeria.
Do you know how many UNDISCIPLINED artists and sports men in America, especially blacks, have gone BANKRUPT and died wretched despite having earned millions $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Would you say they were also jazzed and bewitched by their aunts or some random enemies? Again open your eyes and think.
TJNoble: CSR Team - Corporate Social Responsibility Team of the RCCG rendering valuable and easily quantifiable service to the society, thumbs up for the church and its members.
Is the use of the word, CORPORATE, a confirmation that the church is simply a BUSINESS venture
However, it behoves on the residents of the area to also take a cue from this and keep their surroundings neat and tidy for their own benefit and good health. Happy Palm Sunday, brothers and sisters.
If the residents keep their SURROUNDINGS i.e. roads, open drains aka gutters and the bushes in PUBLIC areas neat & tidy, why do they have a LGA Would you do a job that you have already PAID someone else to do? Does that make you a REASONABLE person?
MoltenMagma: My brother, it reminds me of the old man who got his flying license at the age of 71. The person responsible, his own aunt had long died before his eyes became clear. Now tell me who wants to employ a 71 year old pilot??
Did the 71 year old pilot tell you that he trained so as to be employed. Have you considered that he might have done so for his own self-actualisation and sense of personal accomplishment? What makes you think that everyone is about employment and money? Abeg open your eyes and broaden your horizons, bro.
emusmith: 5. Gave God an ample sum of money and didn't announce it.
You'll see people give with one hand and broadcast with the other. Little wonder, the seed fails to reproduce maximally.
Overall a good post. Can you please explain to others HOW YOU give God money I hope you know that God is NOT the same as your church or pastor. Thanks.
You may wish to reflect on the words of Jesus Christ (Prophet Isa to the Muslims) below before you reply.
Matthew 25
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Walelavender: OP, there is an arm of the church saddled with the responsibility of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). It's n't limited to street cleaning alone. There are many laudable CSR going on at many Paishes/Area/Zones. The church isn't in the habit of publicizing these impactful projects.
Don't you think greater impact will be achieved by the church setting up and subsidising:
- primary - vocational - secondary and - technical schools
while lobbying the state and local governments to ensure ALL children enroll and stay in schools to be educated so we have less people throwing trash in OPEN drains aka gutters
Abukc: The church want to collect PSP contract from Ambode, that's why they come out in large for the cleaning process
Why will the church need a PSP contract from Ambode when they can simply wait to collect:
- tithes - vows - offerings - seeds - special projects for the pastor and his wife. - import waivers even
collins011: ADEBOYE, REDEEM CHURCH LEADER IN N20 BILLION IMPORT WAIVER SCANDAL
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has been linked to a scandalous import duty waiver said to have cost Nigeria a whooping N20 Billion in revenue loss between 2006 and 2007.
A Fiscal Commission source in Abuja preferring anonymity told Pointblanknews.com during the week that pastor Adeboye, tapping into his well-known ties with former President Olusegun Obasanjo benefited from the shady import duty waiver in which Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chief Mike Adenuga, Alhaji Saminu Turaki, Mr. Donald Duke and others were prime beneficiaries.
According to the impeccable source, the duty waiver granted Adeboye was said to have been used “dishonestly” by the church to import luxury Sport Utility Van, SUV (usually called Jeep in Nigeria), building materials and Digital Recording equipment some of which were said to belong to top members of the church both within Nigeria and abroad. In other words, the source surmised that Adeboye used his high level connections to “aid and abate” his church members to defraud the nation by not paying the requisite importation fees.
The source said that many of the RCCG’s faithful in Nigeria and abroad had celebrated the “unlawful act” as a “testimony to the goodness of the lord.” It was said that a Pastor Ghandi of the Jesus House, RCCG in Washington DC where the late first lady Mrs. Stella Obasanjo used to worship whenever she was in the United State, was a facilitator of the deal.
Many of the luxury cars that were said to have been imported through the deal were not meant for private use. They were said to have been sold at several car dealerships across the country. The source explained to pointblanknews.com that even if the items were not traded, it was unheard of that “people would import duty-free luxury items into any country.”
The official did not rule out the possibility of a thorough investigation of the deal which he said could make Adeboye to pay and possibly face charges.
A document made available to pointblanknews.com indicated that in 2006, RCCG got an import waiver of N9,831,109,309.00 through certificate no.,BO/REV/12235/S.2/T.133 to import construction materials; generators and vehicles. The value of the imports was N49,155,546,846.00.

In 2007, another import waiver was granted. This time through a certificate number BO/R10260/V111/161, RCCG was granted rights to import building/construction materials with value put at N48,988,454,876.00 with a total waiver of N9,757,690.975.20. The two waivers total N19,588,800,284,20, while the bulk transactions amount to N98,144,347,130.20.
Also 300 luxury cars with value put at $6,923,000, 100 Jeeps (SUV) valued at $8,000,000, Video Equipment valued at $12,000,000.00, were all part of the shady import deals.
It would be recalled that the comptroller General of Nigerian Customs Services, Mr. Jacob Gyang Buba had been investigated by the independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC in connection with an annual loss of N50 Billion in respect of the importation tariff waiver introduced by the Government of President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The spiritual depth of some practices of the RCCG has been subject of concern amongst growing conservative Christian worshippers. Adeboye is often criticized for being interested in quantity and not quality. He is said to have broken his church to model parishes were prosperity theology is often preached. The other class of followership is usually called Redeemed Classical. They are more mortified and often completely scriptural. Apart from Adeboye’s too cozy with the high and mighty elite, he was said to have given tacit blessing to ex-president Obasanjo’s third-term Presidential dream that was truncated with sudden humiliation.

Raydos: Can You Tell Me Anywhere In Nigeria That's Developed To New-York Standard??
Nigeria As A Whole Is A Big Slum Even Lagos & Abuja - Even V.I, Lekki, Banana-Island, In Lagos Are All Slums!
To the extent that something as basic as TAP water supplied regularly at a good pressure is not available in most "posh areas" of our country coupled with intermittent electricity, we ALL live in slums!
Ordinarily this is a good and laudable initiative.
However, is this not the work of the LGA authority to keep side roads motorable, clear gutters and bushes Perhaps the LGA chairman and councillors, instead of using the allocation they receive on BEHALF of the people and the IGR raised from them to do the work, have shared the yams they STOLE from the people with mosques, shrines and churches like this one.
Tunami: lets form our own party, that is mainly for youths.
And you think that they will not be violent? Who are the ones LYNCHING suspected petty thieves etc instead of handing over to the police? Are they not Nigerian youths? The reality is that vast majority of us are violent, uncivilised, uncultured pseudo-animals. Question is- Can we change ourselves. If yes, HOW can we
shamecurls: Its difficult to bliv that you have brains.
Do you feed well?
Since I exposed your saviour for the FRAUD that he is, it is time for you to ask if I have brains, right Why did you not ask for your brains when you shared my post below?
anonimi: This is a USELESS title and statement. Why compare with Boko Haram These PDP people are learners.
This is NOT possible. The journalists are NOT telling the truth. Shebi our minister of DIS-information just told us that Buhari is on top of the situation. And Buhari told us many months ago that Boko Haram terrorists are TECHNICALLY defeated. Does anyone know what happened to our only saviour who is the incorruptible incorrigible man of integrity Could he be LYING to us all this while?
Firefire: I am really worried about the increasing death toll...
Buhari said: “If you elect me as the President of Nigeria on February 14 (now March 28), I am assuring you that our government will chase Boko Haram out of Nigeria within two months because it is the responsibility of any reasonable government to secure the lives and property of its citizens.”
Which PDP? The one that is born-to-gain progreTHIEF inside APC or another? The Agbaya of Owu who ruled ruined at the federal level for 8 of the 16 years is APC's navigator today, not so Abeg shine your eye bro. Today na Sunday, you hear!
Obasanjo endorses APC moves, as party leadership visit Abeokuta 22.Dec 2013
The push by the opposition, All Progressives Congress, APC to dislodge the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP received a boost yesterday as former President Olusegun Obasanjo openly threw his weight behind the APC’s current initiatives. The APC leadership, comprising some national leaders and governors visited him Obasanjo in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Saturday to solicit the former president’s support for the party in the forthcoming elections. The party leaders, which started converging on Obasanjo’s Hilltop Mansion around 5:22pm, included former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the party’s Interim National Chairman, Bisi Akande; former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari; former speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Masari; former Borno State governor, Senator Ali Modu-Sheriff; Senator Osita Isunazor; Senator Bukola Saraki and Lai Mohammed. Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State came to the former president’s house in company with the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commissioin, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; the former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode and others in a convoy of three black jeeps. Other APC governors at the meeting included Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Abdulfattah Ahmed (Kwara), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano) and Senator Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo). The Chairman of the New PDP, Kawu Baraje led some of his members and the former Kaduna State Chairman, Yero Makama, to the meeting. Presenting the party chieftains and the APC governors to Obasanjo during the opening of the meeting, Akande said the party was in support of the former president’s 18-page letter to President Goodluck Jonathan. The APC National Leader, Tinubu who alluded to Obasanjo’s contribution to the building of the Nigerian nation, lamented that the country was divided more than ever. Apparently referring to Obasanjo’s recent letter to Jonathan, he enjoined the former president not to shy away from speaking the truth. Tinubu added that the APC had resolved to rescue Nigeria, appealing to Obasanjo to lead the mission. “You’ve come out of tribulation and held the highest position in this country. We are here because of your courage. Nobody can say he has information more than you. You have surmounted a number of crises. Nigeria is divided more than before; to realise stable Nigeria, we want to encourage you to continue to speak the truth. We’re resolved and determined to rescue Nigeria. We want you as navigator,” he said.
