Has this man got some supernatural powers or what?
Even in India, see how billionaire investors were rushing to shake his hands. And he sealed investment deals worth 14 billion dollars with them.
As he was leaving India, the German chancellor literally held him by the neck to tell him when it would be okay to visit him in Abuja to talk business, only releasing him after he was given a date.
Then he touched down in UAE, where he ordered their president to reverse the ban on Nigerians, and as punishment for their transgressions, he ordered them to invest billions of dollars in Nigeria, and they said ‘Yes Sir’!

Omisore surrenders, reaches deal with EFCC on alleged N1.3billion fraud
July 23, 2016
The anti-graft commission moved him to the National Hospital, Abuja, after he complained that his health was failing. He was however kept under close watch by two well-armed police officers.
Then his lawyers approached the Federal High Court in Abuja to press for bail but the court, on July 15, dismissed the application for lack of competence.
This week, the former deputy governor capitulated, those close to him said. He approached the EFCC and agreed to refund the money he was alleged to have fraudulently received.
On Friday, the EFCC granted him administrative bail after he struck a deal with the commission to refund the N1.3billion in installments.
He paid the first installment of N300million before he was allowed to go home, this newspaper learned.
Those familiar with the negotiation said before his release on Friday, Mr. Omisore issued a letter authorising his bank to release N170million to the EFCC, being the entire amount in his frozen account.
He also gave the anti-graft commission a draft of N130 million, bringing the first installment of the repayment plan to N300 million.

All Progressives Congress chieftain, Bola Tinubu, on Monday, urged the Federal Government to recruit at least 50 million youths into the Nigerian Army to boost Nigeria’s fight against terrorism, banditry and all forms of internal and external security threats confronting the nation.
Tinubu spoke at the 12th colloquium to celebrate his 69th birthday in Kano State.
He said, “We are under-policed and we are competing with armed robbers and bandits to recruit from the youths who are unemployed —33 per cent unemployed?”
“Recruit 50 million youths into the army,” he stated, adding that “what they will eat —cassava, corn, yam, will grow here.”
The APC chieftain, while reacting to recent statistics by the National Bureau of Statistics that over 23 million Nigerians are jobless, also urged the government to create jobs for youths in the agricultural value chains.
He said, “Don’t talk about illiteracy, anybody who can hold a gun, who can handle a gun, who can cock and shoot is technically competent to repair a tractor in the farm.”

“Buhari is not a very hot person on the economy and foreign affairs,” Obasanjo said.
The former President stated this on Monday at the third International Conference on African Development Issues — themed, “Driving inclusive and sustainable development in Africa: Models, methods and policies” — organised by Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State.
While reacting to a question posed to him by a member of the audience: “Is there any hope for Nigeria under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari?”, Obasanjo replied, “Is there any hope for Nigeria under this administration? I came back from Geneva, Switzerland a few days ago to attend a conference titled, ‘Are elections giving democracy a bad name?’ We had an election, we elected a leader and the good thing about democracy is that the power you have to elect a leader is also the power you have to remove him. I am saying this because I said earlier that if you don’t see any leader that has done well in the 56 years of Nigeria’s independence, then let us forget about Nigeria.
“I will tell you what I know and I will tell you what I don’t know. I know Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. He served under me in the military. His characteristics that I know, his behaviour that I know, he has not deviated from them. He was never a perfect man, he is not a perfect man and no leader can ever be a perfect man because they are human beings. But if you read my book, what I said about him is correct. He is not a hot person when it comes to economy. He is not a very hot person when it comes to foreign affairs. But he will do well in matters of military and he will do well in fighting Boko Haram.”

Silence of the graveyard Sunday Igboho’s delayed return linked to 2023 elections November 21, 2022
There is a projection that Igbojo’s return would heat up the polity, particularly in the South-West region.
Igboho caused a stir in January 2021 when he issued a quit notice to Fulanis in Oyo. He accused them of murder and kidnappings.
“He won’t come back now, maybe anytime after the elections have been decided.
“His return would create a charged atmosphere and re-ignite the agitation and protests.
“The government is dealing with a lot already and would not allow this to happen…not with Buhari still in power.
“Apart from that, Igboho’s presence in Nigeria will affect the presidential ambition of who we all know.
“He cannot afford anything that will jeopardize his ambition, or create a clash with the North,” the source said.
In March 2022, the Benin Republic authorities released Igboho from prison to his doctors.
His lawyer, Yomi Alliyu announced a standing pact that he should not leave Cotonou for any reason.

1Sharon: The black man has no power and leverage. Does a beggar have a choice Oga no troway, I go manage am so- is that not our level? TheBedWench: The one-drop rule is a social and legal principle of racial classification that was historically prominent in the United States in the 20th century. It asserted that any person with even one ancestor of black ancestry ("one drop" of black blood)[1][2] is considered black (Negro or colored in historical terms).
This concept became codified into the law of some states in the early 20th century. It was associated with the principle of "invisible blackness" that developed after the long history of racial interaction in the South, which had included the hardening of slavery as a racial caste and later segregation. It is an example of hypodescent, the automatic assignment of children of a mixed union between different socioeconomic or ethnic groups to the group with the lower status, regardless of proportion of ancestry in different groups.[3]
The one-drop rule is defunct in law in the United States and was never codified into federal law. |

Business › Re: What Made The Dollar Fall Over Night? by anonimi: 11:20am On Apr 22, 2024 |
SULBELL: It very simple sir. Let me explain as a lay man too. What you did at bolded is called speculations which many other Nigerian are doing For example assuming you bought $1 @N1600 then, you will be eager to sell it when you see someone who is willing to buy from you @ N1650, thereby you made an abritage gain of N50 on the volume of $ you bought. This looks very easy right, its like free money, and you don not even have to lift a finger, you just need to punch some keys on your phone Just as you are involve are thousand others too involved, thus the value of the Naira depreciates further. Note that this is profitable for you speculating with the Naira, but it is hurting the nation and millions of Nigerians, A clear example is the skyroketting cost of foodstuffs and electronics, which naturally could have only been marginally affected by the removal of subsidy.
On the flip side, the CBN has cracked down on aiders of such speculations, now there is a bit of sanity, and the Naira is gradually and consistently fighting back, Here what happens is they make the black market rate cheaper so those who hoard $ now will have no choice than to dispose it at a loss. Because I can not see aboki who is ready to sell $ for me @ 1,075, and you expect me to come to you and buy for N1650 because you bought yours for N1600 and we are friends
In simple englis, its the survival of the fittest, while speculators are fighting to make gains from the Naira, the regulators too are fighting to strengteen it, so brother, the fear of uncertainty will make many dispose off the $ they keep, this will further bring down the value against the Naira, thus the reason why the Naira is appretiating.
The decision is yours bro, you can sell it off now and count your loss or with for a miracle that it will somehow magically go toward the 2k mark before ending of May as many have speculated Excellent simple layman explanation. How long do you expect the appreciation to last before we return to the fundamentals of low productivity and exports vs high imports weakening the Naira? For how long will the borrowed dollars and depleting the reserves to defend the Naira last? HeatSeeker: Nigeria is expected to lay its hands on the long-awaited foreign exchange support facility from Afreximbank today as the government of Africa’s most populous nation looks to ease the acute FX shortage that has hobbled the economy and push for growth.
BusinessDay learnt that Afrexim Bank signed the dotted lines yesterday and the funds should come Friday.
Business leaders in Lagos have called the development a major catalyst for the economy as the arrival of the funds could help curtail the exchange rate volatility and ease inflation.
Wale Edun, finance minister and co-ordinating minister of the economy, would not offer any specific comments when BusinessDay spoke with him Friday, insisting that it was in the position of Afrexim to announce the disbursement at the appropriate time.
According to the minister, “this is a transaction in process with Afrexim and it is for them to make the announcement relating to funds disbursement.”
He spoke, however, about the work being done to put in place a comprehensive range of solutions to Nigeria’s economic challenges including improving finances through leveraging technology to raise tax collection as well as ease the foreign exchange position
Loans targeted at solving Nigeria’s FX crisis since Tinubu’s Administration
“We are looking at a range of support mechanisms capable of bringing about all round improvement in government finances and FX liquidity and we are optimistic we are on the right path.”
The disbursement of the funds could be the tonic Nigeria needs to rebuild investor confidence, improve credit lines for an economy brought to its knees by eight years of mismanagement by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
While Afrexim is the lead arranger, there are sub-lenders including Sahara energy group, UBA as well as Guvnor, one of the world’s largest energy trading houses by turnover

You sound like a supporter of Peter Obi who came third but incredulously believes he won the election. That's delusional.
From your stats, jakande did very well. I did not know this much.
Do you think Peter Obi would get anything done with both Houses filled with the opposition? He'll be mincemeat. He'd be forced to dish out pork (corruption) before the senate or house of reps approves things.
I am apolitical. I don't even vote.
What I pointed out in my post was the political realities of our time. Even Peter Obi would be considered unelectable in the UK for not declaring the $15m) he had stashed overseas. Where did he get the haul from sef?
During Jakandes time, the schools he constructed were called "poultry sheds." His take over of many elitist schools led to there eventual demise. However, I still give him top rating in education.
Soludo refused to even endorse Peter Obi. He wasn't impressed by his record in office.
You need to wake up and accept the climes of today. The only way endemic corruption can be fought is when a strong middle say "no more." Thanks for acknowledging your insufficient information about Jakande. I am not an Obi supporter, since he left PDP for his desperate bid that helped Tinubu become president. grandstar: First and foremost, I'm sure the money accruing to Mobalaji Johnson and Jakande were higher in real terms or based on per capita bases.
The population of Lagos state was much smaller during those day.
The money accruing to the state today, even if spent very prudently can't achieve the student teacher ratios you speak. In the health, LASUTH beats LUTH any day. It is well run I must admit.
Nevertheless, one can't deny the Jakande and Mobolaji performed quite well.
As for Marwa, he was a magician. With very little money, he focused on where he'd make the most impact such as filling potholes and duallizing Ketu to Ikorodu road.
Present day Lagos could do much more but sadly, endemic corruption is part and parcel of the society..
The form of corruption the country practices is hideous. People see political as primarily the main priority is self enrichment, then other things follow.
This was the legacy of the Babangida regime and which the Abacha junta solicited. The primary goal pf office is to become stupendiously rich. In addition, Babangida also made mediocrity respectable. The populace hails thieving politicians and called them "my brother."
Imagine the senseless pensions Tinubu awarded himself after leaving office as governor? Yet, there was no backlash strong enough to push him to cancel it
Lagos has done fairly well but could have done better if sleaze was much lower. The government has done well in creating institutions that cater to its citizens. Is the church beside you blaring music to heavens? Call LASEMA. There are many like that. In this regard, they beat Jakande and Mobolaji. They are good administrators.
Just look how Tinubu has dealt with money spraying? Laws need teeth. Labouring in vain to defend the indefensible, no matter how stylishly done makes the defender look somehow ( to put it mildly. You are sure per capita revenue is lower now than in Mobolaji-Johnson and Jakande times but fail to provide details for your assurance while talking about how corrupt Tinubu and his stooges have been since 1999? nairalanda1: They can't stop borrowing, unless they diversify the economy and improve taxation to gdp ratio, and crucially...manufactured goods and services. What of looting and frivolous expenditures, like the president travelling to Europe for medical tourism for weeks without reimbursing the cost? Why did you fail to mention this |

nairalanda1: Because it is the nature of the beast called subsidy
Why did Gej remove subsidy partially in 2012? Because subsidy costs tripled in 2011 compared to 2010. And it was not because government bad, it was because the high oil prices then meant it cost more to refine one liter of fuel and thus subsidy costs were rising by the day. Something had to give
And he would have kept it removed if it wasn't for Nigerians being to blind to see. And tinubu and buhari doing bandwagon things.
I'm surprised you have forgotten the grumbles around GSM in the first five years.
Looks like you support subsides remaining. I don’t support subsidies remaining. I am against politicians like Fayemi and his A-looter ProgreThief Congress, APC fellows scamming us with their propaganda lies you are repeating here. Do you see the difference Omooba77: A former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Tuesday, said the protest that trailed the fuel subsidy removal during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2012 was due to political interests.
Fayemi said this in his keynote address delivered at a national dialogue organised to celebrate the 60th birthday celebration of the founding National Secretary of Alliance for Democracy and Fellow, Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Professor Udenta Udenta in Abuja.
The programme was attended by Jonathan, former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili; former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, among others.
The PUNCH reports that on January 1, 2012, President Goodluck announced the removal of fuel subsidy and adjusted the pump price of petrol from N65 per litre to N141.
The decision sparked mass protests, tagged ‘Occupy Nigeria’ across major cities of the country.
The price was later re-adjusted to N97, after more than a week of protests.
Petrol price was later reduced to N87 in 2015.
Jonathan faced serious backlash for the fuel price adjustment, especially from leaders of the All Progressives Congress, who were then in different opposition parties, including the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, Congress for Progressives Congress, All Nigeria Peoples Party, and All Progressive Grand Alliance.
While condemning what he described as the “winners take all” style of Nigeria’s democracy, Fayemi said the challenges facing the nation today cannot be solved unless the country embraced proportional representation, where the spoils of elections are shared between contestants.
According to him, the last time Nigeria experienced economic development was during Jonathan’s administration
