National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu had during the presidential campaign in 2015, referred to President Muhammadu Buhari as the only solution for the security and economic challenges facing Nigeria.
During a mega presidential rally, the former governor of Lagos State recalled how some powerful nations in the world returned to army generals when they were challenged, saying “Major General Buhari would revive Nigeria’s economy”.
He named the current opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP as the “Poverty Development Party saying they had nothing to offer.
His words at the time were; “Every nation has a period of their own challenges, when America was challenged, they turned to one great man, their ex-military general, General Eisenhower. When the French were challenged, they turned to their general, Charles de Gaulle.
“When Britain was challenged, they turned to their general. Today, Nigeria is economically and physically challenged so we turn to General Muhammadu Buhari. He is the right man for the job. If you talk about military experience, he has it abundantly, he has courage, simplicity, he has it abundantly.
“If you talk about great determination, a combination of vision and ability to perform, honesty and integrity, he has it abundantly.
“I laugh when the incapable government, ‘Poverty Development Party’ PDP were talking. They have nothing again to say, they now want to question the qualifications of General Buhari and look for his certificate”.
Following the manifestos in 2015 which projected the APC presidential candidate as a ‘saviour’, Buhari defeated the then incumbent president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with Nigerians expecting a total change in security and economy.

His characteristics that I know, his behaviour that I know, he has not deviated from them. He was never a perfect man, he is not a perfect man and no leader can ever be a perfect man because they are human beings. But if you read my book, what I said about him is correct. Atiku was reportedly asked to join a team to Ogun to inform Obasanjo that he was going to run for the highest office in the land.
“When Atiku and Obasanjo discussed the call to serve as president, Obasanjo said he could not be president because he was a nearly bankrupt ex-convict. Atiku, through General (Aliyu) Gusau, paid money into Obasanjo’s account to begin his financial rehabilitation.
“Head of State Abdulsalami Abubakar helped out by granting him an unconditional pardon. Atiku put everything he had at his disposal to support Obasanjo’s emergence as the PDP presidential candidate and, when he joined the ticket as the vice-presidential nominee, continued to make his assets available to Obasanjo and the campaign.

Okealaaye: Peter Obi is not corrupt! He's Mr Clean Whistle. He was sleeping jejely in his room when the dollars were flying around in those PDP years. Please stop this truthful vawulence early mormor of a holy day like Sunday SATANICALLY: In a 2018 interview, Peter Obi said he invested $20 million in International Breweries on behalf of Anambra state as a governor.
Obi’s claim was in response to questions on economic development, Anambra politics and his presidential ambition.
“… Anambra state is the single-highest shareholder in that facility. I invested in it, over $20 million,” Obi had said.
“It is worth almost $100 [million] today. That’s what government should do.”
TheCable had previously fact-checked some of the claims.
Chukwuma Soludo, governor of Anambra, also debunked a recent statement ascribed to him regarding the investment.
International Breweries (IB) Plc is a subsidiary of the world’s largest brewer, Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) — a multinational drink and brewing giant based in Leuven, Belgium.
In its 2021 audited financial statement, the company said it holds 43 percent economic interest in International Breweries Plc, a publicly listed company in Nigeria.
According to a report by The Nation, AB InBev merged its Nigerian operations under a single corporate entity in 2017. It had three indirect Nigerian subsidiaries — International Breweries Plc, Intafact Beverages Limited and Pabod Breweries Limited. SABMiller Nigeria Holdings BV — another subsidiary of AB InBev — was also a major stakeholder in Intafact and Pabod.
ANAMBRA’S INVESTMENT
In a statement made available to TheCable on Tuesday, Ifeatu Onejeme, Anambra’s commissioner of finance, confirmed that Peter Obi’s administration invested the sum of N1,955,535,247.00 (an equivalent of approximately $12,616,356.43 at the then average CBN exchange rate of N155.00/$1) in Intafact Beverages Limited, a green-field brewery set up in Onitsha by SABMiller Breweries of South Africa in 2012.
Onejeme added that the state government still holds 407,321,264 ordinary shares of International Breweries Plc in exchange for the Intafact Beverages Limited investment.
“Based on the NGX closing price of N5.50 as of 20/6/22, these shares were valued at N2,240,266,952 on that date,” the statement reads in part.
“Based on the Central Bank of Nigeria I&E exchange rate of N415.75/US$1.00 on same June 20, 2022, this investment was valued at an equivalent of approximately US$5,388,495.37 (and at N604/$1.00 parallel market rate, only US$3,709,051.24).”

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/12/fashola-battles-to-justify-lasu-fee-hike/
Governor Babatunde Fashola battled hard weekend, to justify the astronomical hike in tuition fees recently introduced in Lagos State University, LASU, by the state government. Recall that the state government had increased tuition fees paid in the university from N25,000 to N250,000 per session.
Fashola, who spoke at Government College, Ughelli’s, annual luncheon party in Lagos, said Nigerians were unconsciously making the country one where there would be separate schools for the rich and poor.
According to him, critics of the increment are indirectly calling for a Nigerian society which will be divided into poor university for the poor and rich university for rich people.
He said: “Countries that do not prioritise education are always at the mercy of those who place a high premium on education.
“Where in the world have we seen tuition fee of university of N25,000? You cannot find this anywhere. Even the nations that are developed and wealthy do not give education for N25,000.
“LASU started very well and over the years, the population grew and beyond the available facilities and the school began to deteriorate. We are determined to rescue LASU and we will not make it a school for the poor.
“We are unconsciously making Nigeria a society where there will be a school for the rich and one for the poor. “Several people in this country pay so much for education abroad while the schools here continue to deteriorate. It is only in the university that the children of the rich and children of the poor can sit in the same classroom.”

UYEMDO35: I have decided to accept the new changes in my place of work. But with terms and conditions.
That's not really the case here. I have worked for years and didn't get promoted, but then i thought of helping my friend, and my friend ended up achieving what i couldn't achieve while having the same qualifications and even been paid x2 of what am earning. though! I have no bad intentions towards my friend but I think he made a wrong move by making some changes that’s unfavorable to me and others.
Of course I have reasons to feel been treated unfairly. Am also human too. some said I was jealous of my friend been made the assistant Boss, but to be candid, I never did... I just didn't like the way he was acting so professional as if we that have been working there for long are unprofessional.
after much thought, I decided to summon courage to tender my letter of upliftment for the Increasement of my salary today, and for God so good... my letter was approved and my money has been increase to what my friend is earning.... so the only difference now is that, he's my superior and I will have to be taking orders from him in which I have started to adapt to it.
To be candid, my friend possesses all the quality that it takes to be the assistant Boss because he's bold and fearless.... not like me that's very quiet.

First, I dated her all because of my emotional trauma, I love her so much I can't denied d fact, I did a lot of crazy thing just to prove how much I love her....... Though! I am in my mid-20. And I know what I want in life. She has done more harm than good in which I have tolerated enough. I think it's time to kiss her good bye. Like i said before she did a lot of crazy things to me which is unforgivable, but still yet. I can't breakup with her. She took in and lied to me dat am responsible for it and I was very sure that am not responsible for it, I carried out a research and later discover dat it was a friend of mine who helped me in wooing her dat got her pregnant, I even went to d extent of confronting my friend which he admitted to be true and pleaded that I should forgive him, which I did.. Funniest part, I gave her money to get rid of it becuz my friend couldn't afford it. I also confronted her about the pregnancy of a thing, she never admitted d truth. I let everything died down and never bothered asking her again. Thought! She played fast one on me, I still continued loving her..... What trigger me most recently....I saw her with a ring, I was shocked. I asked her about it and she told me that it's just a promised a ring, dat it was her boyfriend who gave her and not that she love him, he force it on her. (Yes) am aware of the guy. But d girl parent do not approve of their relationship but dey are still in touch.
She promise to stick by me that I should give her sometimes to get rid of d guy first, dat d guy happened to be her first love and is going to take time to get rid of him completely.
I kept moot about it.......
From a close friend of mine, I heard she's still in touch with dat friend of mine who got her pregnant.... Dey are secretly dating.
I have spent a token on her but I regretted ever dating her.
Am thinking of breaking up with her today.{ that's if I had courage to do so}

Now, Atiku agreed on zoning when it favoured him but he is now against it because it did not favour him
Atiku agreed that Deborah's death must be accounted for but as soon as he was tackled, he ran and removed the post....
Atiku should just focus on his mikano business and forget about the presidential seat....
His referee from his previous boss, Obasanjo is terrible...
He has a money laundering case hanging on his neck with his ex wife....
Wike is not clean though but he has the right to fight for the zoning.... Can you please share Peter Obi and ThiefNuibu’s statement about Deborah’s death if you are not a dangerous sectionalist like Buhari. |

I know Atiku is desperate but he would not get it bcoz his heart for this country is not to rebuild it but to further enrich himself. Can you please quote the Rule that was disobeyed by the party with the Clause in their constitution. |

toneroforever: Don't live in a fool's paradise. Nothing about the PDP's crisis favors Tinubu. Tinubu's insults on GEJ is still fresh in the memories of the Rivers, Bayelsa,Ijaw & SS people. Whatever the outcome of this Wike's issue, they have no love for BAT,so expect no votes from them. Let me help those who need memory refresh. Emergingnation: Flashback: How Bola Tinubu spoke highly of Buhari in 2015, named PDP ‘Poverty Development Party
Following the manifestos in 2015 which projected the APC presidential candidate as a ‘saviour’, Buhari defeated the then incumbent president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with Nigerians expecting a total change in security and economy.

thisisit: THANK GOD FOR WIKE...GRACE OF GOD BE WITH HIM. Grace of God, or demonic magic for the looter who is foisting another rogue on Rivers people kcmichael: *N117Billion Fraud: Rivers PDP Governorship Candidate, Sim Fubara shun Ikwere Chiefs and Elders as EFCC Ambushes Him*.
As the 2023 general elections draw closer, consultations and discussions on political parties and her candidates are becoming the concerns to her electorates by the day, including our Chiefs and Elders, Religious Leaders and Ethnic groups. In Rivers State, every patriotic Rivers sons and daughters would wish that the next Governors be properly screened before giving her support . They also wish the elections should be peaceful, free from any violence and altogether fair. These are the the prayers on every lip gravitating towards peace and order in this political season. If politicians were to play by the rules and show some respect for the sanctity of human life, these anxieties about peaceful elections would have been unnecessary. Can our Candidates and incoming Governors be free from crimes, especially financial crimes? Can our politicians exercise firm control over their supporters? These are pertinent questions in the mind of every electorates.
It is obvious that some states like Rivers State may likely attract more than the normal attention of local and international observers. In the case of Rivers state, the signs are already very glaring, because of the antecedents of Mr. Siminialayi Fubara , the governorship flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rivers state has all eyes on him as the Campaign and elections approach. The entire Rivers People are standing amazed, asking and watching" Will only Wike and Sim defeat a whole Federal agency's (the EFCC) and can't the EFCC bring a wanted looter of our collective resources to book?
The thinking community in the state may be justified in their apprehension because of the style of the man who preferred and imposed a fugitive on the state. Sim Fubara is on EFCC watchlists and he is on the run. He is said to be hiding in the Rivers State Government House for the fears of EFCC.
Well, there are indications that the EFCC has not relent on their search and arrest of Mr. Sim Fubara. Few days ago, Mr. Sim Fubara was ambushes by the EFCC on his way to interacts with the Chiefs and Elders Ikwerre Land. The visits was initiated by the Rivers PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, siminialayi Fubara and was a well publicized event for weeks, but he failed to attend his own event. It gathered that during the weekend, Sunday 18/9/2022, Sim Fubara again, in course of avoiding arrest by the EFCC, absent himself from his consultations meeting organized with the Ikwere LGA'S PDP Chiefs and Elders. A situation that had angered and raised some concerns among the Chiefs and Elders from the ethnic group as they see it to be a deliberate attempt, unknowing to them that Mr. Sim had already gotten the noticed that he has already been ambushed by the EFCC.
A reliable source closed to one of the chief confirmed how disrespectful and angered they felt when they saw Prof. Ngozi Odu, his Deputy, come down alone. He also narrated how regrettable they felt of all his assurance to be present. He also confirmed that they used almost two weeks to carried out major publicity's of the events both on print, electronic and traditional medium of communication, Invitation, billboards and banners as well as organizing cultural play as they were compelled to do so by the power that be.
I am sure some of them may not had been of the know or are pretending or doing eyes service to Governor's Wike. Mr. Sim Fubara coming was to interact with the said Chiefs and Elders. Little do they know that the EFCC will get the knowledge of it and ambush the entire areas for the arrest of the wanted PDP Governorship Candidate. And when he finally heard of it, he said "it seem this is a set up by some of these chiefs and Elders that they can not be trusted ". He reluctantly send his Deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu to represent him . A situation that is said to be a total disrespectful to the chiefs and Elders, and the entire Ikwere land .
Recalled that on Tuesday June 7, 2022, some supporters of the Rivers State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Sim Fubara beat up officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on that Tuesday night when EFCC operatives attempted to arrest Mr. Fubara as the chartered plane carrying him and other PDP members landed at the Omagwa Airport in Rivers State from Abuja. The operatives were beaten as they made to arrest the PDP flag bearer who had gone to Abuja to receive his certificate of return. It was unclear if the anti-graft agency officials suffered serious injuries. The EFCC had declared the PDP candidate wanted over a N117 billion alleged fraud. So the continue ambush on Mr. Sim Fubara by EFCC is a clear indication that he is a wanted Fugitive and can be arrested anytime . If as just an Accountant General, he embezzled N117Billion, what will happen if he eventually becomes the Governor? And if Mr. Sim Fubara believes he is innocent, let him go and defend himself so he can be moving Freely to avoid disrespecting our respected Chiefs and Elders. |

Naughtysex: Atiku is reaping what he sow during 2014 general election Just as Thiefnuibu will reap what he sowed in 2011 MANDIPUTIN: Aminu Tambuwal, now Sokoto State governor, won the seat, against the preferred pick of his party, Mrs Mulikat Adeola Akande, from the South-West. Defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, then a fledging opposition, which had Akande and his soulmate, former Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Tinubu, as front- line leaders, openly asked its elected members of the House of Representatives, mostly from the South-West, to work against their region and back Tambuwal from North-West.
The opposition party’s support carried Tambuwal through the contest against Akande, then ruling party’s favourite for the speakership seat.
In his book, Chief Akande revealed that former president then as incumbent, personally reached out to Tinubu, who is now believed to be nursing presidential aspiration in 2023 and himself, but couldn’t convince them.
He wrote, “President Jonathan, immediately after the meeting (with political parties), called Bola Tinubu aside into a lobby to broach the matter of ACN support for a choice of who would become the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
“That same day, President Jonathan talked to me on phone about the same matter. He disclosed that PDP had zoned the position to the South-West but that only one Muraina and another Mulika won elections on PDP ticket from the zone into the House of Representatives.
“I quickly reminded him that, as at (sic) that date in the United States of America, while the Democrats produced the Senate President, the Republicans (the opposition) produced the Speaker of the House of Representatives. I boasted that ACN was capable of suggesting to him ten names of members from the South West from among whom to choose if PDP would be magnanimous enough to practice democracy the way it was being practised in the USA, from where we imported our presidential system.
“He seemed pissed off and stopped the conversation,” he said.
In the era being referenced by the former national chairman of the defunct opposition party, the controlling party in each of the chambers of the Congress in the United States was in the majority, which wasn’t the case with ACN when the Ila-born politician was making his claim.

membranus: And what are you, or your family member doing in the Lagos, if you hated it so much?
Besides, what is the population of the Berkane, compared to Lagos? What's operative in a small city cannot work in a big city like Lagos, and New York. Ki Ólórun ma jé ki iya dun mó wa bi omi óbé oIs that why Jakande achieved so much with so little but Ógbéni Ojuyóbó and his rogue minions have failed spectacularly to do anything close since 1999? SB2020: Interesting facts about Addis Ababa and Lagos light rail projects.
Addis Ababa / Lagos Cost == $475Million / $1.2Billion Length == 34km / 27km Time to Complete == 4years / 7years (projected) Year Awarded == 2011 / 2008 (Construction began 2010) Contractor == China Railway Eng. Corp (CREC) /Chinese Civil Eng. Constr. Coy (CCECC) Population == 5Million / 20Million
Ethiopia has managed to deliver Sub-Saharan Africa’s first modern light rail project which opened in the capital Addis Ababa on Sunday, and in the process, beat Lagos whose own rail project remains four years behind schedule.
Ethiopia’s rail project was delivered on time, despite its being longer than the Lagos – Badagry rail line currently under construction.
Addis Ababa’s two line 34-kilometre system was built by the China Railway Engineering Corporation (CREC) and cost $475m, 85 percent of which has been covered by China’s Exim bank. The Lagos Light Rail Project or Blue on Badagry Expressway, was to have 13 stations from Okokomaiko to Marina via Iddo for a total of 27 kilometres.
The contract was awarded to the Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) at the cost of $1.2 billion in 2008, and was to be delivered in 2011. Survey work took one year between August 2009 and August 2010 while construction began July 2010.
The work is being implemented using the public and private partnership (PPP) model, whereby the state builds the infrastructure and the private sector provides the rolling stock and management. However, the project has not worked out according to the plan. The 2011 deadline was missed, even though the State government got a loan to fund the project.
Source http://businessdayonline.com/2015/09/addis-ababa-beats-lagos-to-light-rail-as-construction-delays-mount/ Splashme: The first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, on Tuesday, said that the cancellation of the Lagos metroline project in 1985 was a major mistake and disservice to many Nigerians.
Jakande spoke in Lagos during the launch of a book which chronicled his life in politics and journalism.
The book, entitled, ‘Jakande: Leadership in Action’ is written by Dr. Bola Olaosebikan, who told the audience at the event that the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), was not responsible for the cancellation of the project.
Jakande said, “Reflecting on the metroline project, I think it is a major disservice to many Nigerians. Imagine how many people would have benefitted. It would have made life easier and changed the face of transport in Lagos. Whoever cancelled it or gave the advice towards its cancellation didn’t do right.”
The former governor asked Nigerians not to vote for unserious leaders in the coming polls, saying the elections presented Nigerians with a good opportunity that should not be squandered.
Expressing the hope that Nigeria would soon overcome its developmental challenges, Jakande said hope would be actualised faster if credible people emerged as leaders in the next dispensation.
He said, “This book comes at a very auspicious time in Nigeria’s history as we need leaders who can act. We need leaders who would not compromise the standards of good governance. God has blessed this nation the most in Africa, although we have not reached where we should be; with the right leaders, Nigeria would overcome its challenges.”
http://www.punchng.com/news/cancelling-metroline-a-major-mistake-jakande/ Lagos light rail’ll be ready in June – Fashola January 9, 2013
The Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola on Tuesday said the first phase of the state Blue Light Rail project would be completed by June this year(2013).
He expressed confidence that Lagosians would start enjoying the services of the rail project immediately.
The first phase would run from Marina and terminated at Okokomaiko area in Ojo Local Government.
Fashola spoke during an inspection of ongoing projects in the state which took him and his cabinet members to Orile-Iganmu, Alimosho and Ejigbo areas among others to assess the level of works being done by contractors.
The governor, who inaugurated the trackwork of the blue light rail at Alaba Suru, Coker-Agunda Local Council Development Area, said the level of work on the road and those of the National Theatre and Alaba-Mile 2 rail stations, would ensure early completion
He said, “In order to finish the project, the contractor did not go on vacation during the festive period. This will ensure that the project is delivered on time for the use of Lagosians.
“The first section of this rail, which started from National Theatre, Orile-Iganmu to Mile 2 Bus Stop, would be fully completed with the tracks laid.
“Construction work will continue on the project from Orile-Iganmu to Marina, the expansion work on the road from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko will also be intensified.
“This is what we do with the loan collected by the government. We don’t use our loan to pay salaries and other recurrent expenditure, what we do with our loan is to provide capital projects that would serve the residents.
“When the project is completed, the state would be at par with other major cities of the world.”
