Kidnapping in Nigeria exaggerated — Osinbajo June 25, 2019
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has downplayed the cases of kidnapping in Nigeria, saying they were sometimes exaggerated for political effect.
Mr Osinbajo was addressing Nigerians based in New York on Monday when he was confronted with questions about kidnapping, which is a major part of Nigeria’s worsening insecurity.
“With respect to general kidnapping which we have seen in parts of the country, again, this is not entirely new. In fact, some of the kidnapping stories you read or listen to are simply not true anywhere, some are fuelled by politics,” Mr Osinbajo was reported as saying by the state-run News Agency of Nigeria.
“There are cases of kidnapping, no question at all about that, but some of the more dramatic stories that you hear are simply not true.
“Every report of kidnapping we receive, we try to verify, and at the end of the day you find out that people just tell all sorts of stories,” the vice-president said.
WhizdomXX: You guys should calm down, I just heard Etsako East result is on its way.
In another news, Tanko just said the Edo election did not substantially meet the standard set by Sharia Law for conduct of Elections and that he's waiting for Obaseki in Court. grin grin grin
onatisi: if obaseki wins this election , that will be the semi burial of oshiomole political career.
he will no longer have the clout he used to have , that means within 12 months , he lost his position as the party chairman and also his state to the opposition
What does it mean for ThiefNuibu, especially after his video order to Edo people to vote Iya mumu so that his bullion vans empire can extend to their state

Yobabad: Iza_Iyamu is leading in Ibadan and have got the highest vote from Iwo Road
What of the Bourdillon polling unit? Is he leading there also? At least ThiefNuibu’s video order to vote in the thief thief acid throwing cultist must yield something in Lagos

dre11: FLASHBACK: Oshiomhole once wanted building named after Obaseki for ‘selfless service’
Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), once said Godwin Obaseki, governor of Edo, worked for the state using his brain and creativity.
Oshiomhole, who praised the governor during the governorship campaign of 2016, said a building at the government house should be named after Obaseki for his selfless service.
Oshiomhole said while he was governor of Edo, Obaseki helped him build the economy team of the state with his network.
“I know my limit. He knows his limit. Godwin Obaseki has worked for seven and half years for the people of Edo state, using his brain, creativity, quietly, not making noise,” Oshiomhole said.
“He sits in the office of the economic team which he built using his network of friends inside the heart of government house without demanding one naira.
“A man like that who will not ask me to give him contracts, but will promise me, comrade, you just do the thinking, we will create the means to actualise your thoughts. And to his credit today, check the books of Edo state, we did not build new structures in government house with government money. That economic team office was built through Godwin’s network. Today, it remains a permanent asset of the state government.
“I want us to be calling that building Godwin Obaseki building. I don’t see your opponent Ize-Iyamu being able to say that. In 2007, check the records, Ize-Iyamu was hiding from EFCC. He didn’t not vote. How can somebody who didn’t vote claim that he made me.
“If you have to look at Godwin and his credentials and you look at a man whose only work, by his CV, was a student and rusticated for two years, he read law but he is not a barrister. That is his foundation. I never gave him government job. Lucky Igbinedion’s mother was reported to have slapped Ize-Iyamu for misleading her son. He tried it with me, but we kept him away. Nothing near government circle. No access to public funds.
“Look at the road to his house, in our books, was dual carriage way. They took the money, constructed the road to his house and stopped. Although we have liquidated the godfathers politically, the entire political family will be liquidated.”
Pastor Ize Iyamu, the Edo PDP flag bearer of the forth coming Governorship election in an interview agreed of being a one time member of a fraternity in University of Benin. He also agreed to being expelled from the university before being accepted back after two years to complete his school as lawyer.
Woke up with strength and vigour this morning and was up to face today with all hopes and aspirations but was sad & almost started crying after watching this video.
I've been an advocate of leaders been strong at all time with will power to carry out leadership responsibilities. And that emotional leaders don't go far but certainly not this way.
In leadership and governance, there's a place for 'Human face' no matter the circumstances. Widows to the best of my knowledge are integral part of our society and if we don't apply human face when dealing with them, am afraid we are far from getting there as a people.
Two wrongs indeed can never make things right and as such, can't fathom why the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams A. O. will treat this widow like this and even tell her to go and die when she's struggling to provide food for her family. I think it would've been far better to make her pay a fine for her wrong doing than this humiliation.
Gerrard59: I think anything that doesn't involve manufacturing/production is bound to be casted. How come Nigerians have not copied the Indians, Lebanese and Chinese in opening factories everywhere?
Do you think that is due to our inability to go the long haul and be adventurous? Is there anything we can do to improve that capacity among all of us
Timekeeper: Yes ooooo while some are still busy look for a billionaire dick so as to feature on xvideos.. They call themselves Elites pornhub. Anytime they sight a billionaire kid, na how to collect him dick dem go dey think. All Elites think the same way
Yes, for Obaseki, the people's choice. Nothing for that acid throwing cultist being packaged by the godfathers to loot Edo dry as the bullion vans man is doing to smart Lagosians since 1999.
SecretSpy666: Greetings Nairalanders, I want to seek for you peoples opinions regarding my family challenges.
I'm from a broken home. My parents divorced when I was a child of two years. I'm the only child from their union. My father and mother abandoned me and remarried to other spouse each. I passed through hell growing up with relatives who insulted me with all kinds of names and I was treated like a slave to their own children.
Because of public outcry about my dehumanizing treatment, my father came to village and took me to the city. It was from fry pan to fire experience as my father's new wife was maltreating me. At a point, my father asked me to leave his house that since my arrival, he don't have peace with his wife.
I packed to the house of a relative and work in a block industry to help myself. Most times, I slept in a CAC church close to the relative house as the two-room apartment is not enough for his family. My mother never care if I was alive. She never call me nor reply to letter I sent through someone to her. I continued working in the block industry and started a part time programme. I completed the part time programme and did my NYSC and master degree. I got a job with University of Ado Ekiti with the help of a course mate, managing myself now and surprisingly my mother and father started calling me often.
Both of them have 6 children each with their respective second spouse. Mother want his son to come and live with me, I refused and my father too have been requesting for financial assistance which I also refused. I don't want to have anything to do with both of them. My father's daughter recently called me to help her with school fees, I bluntly told her to ask her mother what she did to me and caught the call. Since then, she never call.
I'm alone and have just two friends. I don't have family. All of them calling now are just looking for what to get from me, not that they care about me. My mother never call me once to ask about my welfare even when I sent my phone number to her through her relative. I wrote WAEC, completed degree course before she started calling me and it is only to request for one thing or other. I'm planning to get married without telling them and build a separate family.
You have done well. Very well for other parents to learn to be responsible and show love to their children even when they don’t have money. Remain blessed and double your hustle for greater success. Amen.
ogunsbanjul: Vanity upon vanity, futile upon futile, waste upon waste, asan lori asan imule mofo. Happy birthday to you though I doubt this age o probably that's official age (adjusted age) and moreso, no need of all these show because some are struggling to survive though you're not the cause but to me no need.

Yes he is alive, kissing the asses of the owners of the Fulani Government of Naijeriya, FGN after successfully kissing the asss of the bullion vans godfather who wants to extend his tentacles into Edo, if the people there will be dense enough to allow him.
