Factcheck0001:
if by now u still think Tinubu lost in osun then u are beyond redemption

Even when Tinubu spoke openly with APC leaders in osun to adopt Adeleke n they refused n Tinubu even told efcc to release his money to him

Then u still believed Tinubu was against him?

So for your mind u don't know the meaning of what Adeleke did by thanking Tinubu in his first speech?

Everyone in osun knew Tinubu didn't interfere in osun election

Before u come here to argue blindly, go n watch fayose interview after the election about how the federal cam collect any state if they are interested n what obj did for him n ladoja then

Imagine withdrawing the security details of a governor, locking the state account, arresting his wife n deputy then making soldiers write election result on open field.

U kids know nothing about politics, Adeleke understand better n that's y he appreciates Tinubu
If Tinubu has not arrested and prosecuted EFCC’s chairman for allegedly embarrassing him in Osun State elections, then why should we not conclude that he gave the order to freeze the state accounts, and he only withdrew after public opinion was united against him?

Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, has defended the purchase of sports utility vehicles (SUVs) for members of the national assembly.

There have been reports that the leadership of the 10th national assembly has bought SUVs for all lawmakers.

Each SUV is said to be valued at N160 million.

The LP had asked members of the party in the national assembly to kick against “wastage”.

While responding to questions during a press conference in Abuja on Monday, the former governor of Anambra said the SUVs are not personal cars of the lawmakers, noting that they are for official use.

“Let me start with the issue of Labour Party members in the house. I have actually discussed this issue with them,” Obi said.

“Surprisingly, I can tell you I heard that these vehicles are official cars. They have to use it. It is meant for office.

“So it is not as if it is their vehicle. They said it is official cars and you are meant to use it while you are in the senate.”

Obi also hinted at contesting for the country’s number one position in 2027, adding that Nigeria deserves dedicated and visionary leaders who will lead the country towards a brighter future.

You don’t understand.

Atiku is not contesting to win election.

Atiku is there as major distraction to divide votes. He is a Tinubu man and will be compensated well.

That’s why he said this will be his last election because his assignment would have been completed.

With this divided oppositions, Tinubu and INEC can decide to give him any number they like while cutting from Obi’s number. This is what they did in 2023 and that’s why Obi and Atiku had identical numbers at 6M+ votes. It was intentional

It’s the same reason Tinubus camp never want a United opposition because a United opposition brought APC to power and they know how powerful that method is. It’s difficult to beat no matter how you look at it. It’s also why they have working overnight to ensure they scatter any gathering that has a United front.
At the end of the day, Nigerians should hold Atiku responsible for what Nigeria has become because he has been doing this since 2015. The project/contract will end in 2027 in which has decided not to contest ever again.
Are you smarter than Soludo huh

jameshankss:
Arguing that Obi’s presidential bid would only work in favour of Tinubu, Soludo said, “Indeed, if I were Asiwaju Tinubu, I would even give Peter Obi money as someone heading one of the departments of his campaign, because Obi is making Tinubu’s pathway to victory much easier by indirectly pulling down PDP.”

Obi, according to Soludo, would only deplete the votes of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and pave the path for an APC victory.

He stated, “The current fleeting frenzy, if not checked, will cost Ndigbo dearly for years. The South-east has the lowest number of votes of any region, but it is also the only region where the presidential race might be a four-way race (it is a two-way race in the other five regions) thereby, ensuring that our votes won’t count in the making of the next president of Nigeria.

Or perhaps you’re smarter than the master strategist of Nigerian politics huh

lexylaw40:
The “president-elect” saw in Obi's presidential bid, a good chance to reduce the winning chances of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Oyo State, Tawfiq Akinwale, on Wednesday stated that the “President-elect” Bola Tinubu asked popular economist, Prof Pat Utomi to step down for Peter Obi in the buildup to the 2023 general elections.

Akinwale made this revelation while he appeared as a guest on a radio programme on 101.7 YES FM, Ibadan, Oyo State, while alleging that Obi received campaign funds from Utomi, whom he described as Tinubu's "son."

The LP aspirant, who spoke in Yoruba language, said "In the buildup to the 2023 elections, Obi who had purchased the nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), suddenly announced his exit from the party.

"Initially, Pat Utomi had secured the LP's presidential ticket, but when Peter Obi said he resigned from the PDP and joined the LP. Bola Tinubu, a master political strategist, quickly told Utomi, that everyone knows to be his son to step down for Obi.

"The “president-elect” saw in Obi's presidential bid, a good chance to reduce the winning chances of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

"What Peter Obi didn't know is much more that what he knows, he started collecting campaign funds from Utomi, while Tinubu was giving the money to Utomi.

"This went on until Obi's presidential campaign got to a stage it went beyond target. Obi was used without him knowing," Akinwale said after announcing his departure from the party.

Obi defected to the LP after resigning his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and also withdrawing from the presidential race under the party.

The former governor consequently joined the race for the party’s presidential ticket, while Professor Pat Utomi, in June 2022 stepped down for him to emerge as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, unopposed in Asaba, Delta State.

honesttalk21:
The picture is mixed. Lagos has clearly built stronger fiscal capacity, but whether that justifies the tax burden and rising debt is a fair question. Higher IGR, transport and road investment show greater capacity, but revenue growth alone doesn't prove residents are getting better services. Lagos also isn't immune to national policy governing inflation, exchange rates, federal allocations and wider economic conditions which all shape what the state can deliver. Migration reflects those wider pressures too. Ultimately, the test is whether today's spending creates lasting infrastructure, productivity and growth capable of servicing the debt without continually pushing the cost onto residents. That requires transparent capital expenditure reporting, revenue tied visibly to service delivery, and disciplined business practice among citizens themselves, not unfair profiteering that erodes whatever gains reform delivers.
If Tinubu grew the state budget 100 times to N4.2 trillion in 27 years but failed to make ordinary pipe borne water available to all households then what is the basis of any renewed hope for anything different from him at the federal level?

Perhaps this is why Bwala said nothing worthwhile can be achieved by Tinubu even if he is given 30 years.

How much money, adjusted for inflation and population did Jakande have in four years to achieve all these progressive agenda, which didn’t stop Buhari from detaining him for corruption in 1984?

Splashme:
The first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, on Tuesday, said that the cancellation of the Lagos metroline project in 1985 was a major mistake and disservice to many Nigerians.

Jakande spoke in Lagos during the launch of a book which chronicled his life in politics and journalism.

The book, entitled, ‘Jakande: Leadership in Action’ is written by Dr. Bola Olaosebikan, who told the audience at the event that the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), was not responsible for the cancellation of the project.

Jakande said, “Reflecting on the metroline project, I think it is a major disservice to many Nigerians. Imagine how many people would have benefitted. It would have made life easier and changed the face of transport in Lagos. Whoever cancelled it or gave the advice towards its cancellation didn’t do right.”

The former governor asked Nigerians not to vote for unserious leaders in the coming polls, saying the elections presented Nigerians with a good opportunity that should not be squandered.

Expressing the hope that Nigeria would soon overcome its developmental challenges, Jakande said hope would be actualised faster if credible people emerged as leaders in the next dispensation.

He said, “This book comes at a very auspicious time in Nigeria’s history as we need leaders who can act. We need leaders who would not compromise the standards of good governance. God has blessed this nation the most in Africa, although we have not reached where we should be; with the right leaders, Nigeria would overcome its challenges.”

Politics › Re: FAAC Allocation With Dollar Equivalent 2010-2025 by anonimi: 11:15pm On Aug 23
honesttalk21:
The honest picture is mixed; total debt is relatively stable in dollars as at December 2025, while external debt is the real growth story. And since the float, the DMO rate has broadly tracked the market, making the fraudulent rate criticism more applicable to the pre-2023 regime.

The old exchange-rate peg effectively subsidised imports while hurting local production. But calling the correction flawless oversells it. The reform may have been necessary, yet poor cushioning turned it into a rapid economic shock.

FAAC makes the point. Record naira allocations in 2024–25 translated into some of the lowest dollar equivalents in roughly 16 years seen in more naira inflation and depreciation than real fiscal growth.

Debt is similarly nuanced. Total public debt in dollar terms is broadly stable despite the naira figure nearly doubling, meaning much of the increase is an FX effect. External debt, however, rose from about $42.5bn to $51.9bn roughly 22% reflecting genuine new foreign borrowing.

The 22% rise reflects actual borrowing, not simply currency effects: Eurobond re-entry, increased World Bank/IDA financing, and a shift toward multilateral lenders. The aim is to diversify funding, support reforms and infrastructure, and ease pressure on the naira. But there’s a clear risk: if growth and revenue don’t keep pace, higher dollar-denominated debt means greater servicing pressure and potentially more naira weakness.
What has 27 years of similar reforms yielded in Lagos State apart from higher revenues to government from greater tax burden on people without commensurate increase in government services and utilities to create the environment for future growth to repay the debts?

Ofunaofu:
Report: Current Govt Added More Debt in Two Years Than Nigeria Accumulated in 55 Years

• Decries Nigeria’s debt service-to-revenue ratio

•Urges FG to declare fiscal emergency

A new policy brief has warned that Nigeria’s worsening debt profile and weak revenue generation have pushed the country into a dangerous fiscal position, with the current administration accumulating more debt in two years than Nigeria recorded during its first 55 years after independence.

The report, released by the Alliance for Economic Research and Ethics LTD/GTE, a Nigerian policy think tank, argued that the country’s debt crisis has evolved into a governance and revenue emergency, as debt servicing obligations now exceed the federal government’s retained earnings.
>
>
According to the think tank, Nigeria’s public debt rose sharply from N87.38 trillion in June 2023 to N159.28 trillion by the end of 2025, with President Bola Tinubu’s administration accounting for about N65.9 trillion of the increase within its first two years in office.

The organisation in the brief titled: “Nigeria Is Borrowing to Breathe—and the Clock Is Ticking”, noted that Nigeria accumulated only about N12.06 trillion in debt from independence in 1960 up to 2015, meaning the current administration added more than five times that amount in just 24 months.

The report stated that while previous governments also contributed significantly to the country’s rising debt burden, the speed of accumulation under the current administration had intensified concerns over fiscal sustainability.

“President Bola Tinubu’s administration has added a further N65.9 trillion in just two years. To put that in perspective: it took Nigeria’s first 55 years of independence to accumulate N12 trillion in debt. The current administration has added more than five times that amount in 24 months,” it argued.

It recalled that Nigeria briefly became almost debt-free externally after the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo secured an $18 billion Paris Club debt relief package in 2005 and paid $12 billion to extinguish about $30 billion in external obligations.

Obasanjo that removed 4 governors from office and wanted a third term ?
How did he remove them from office? Who are the four?

Thanks for reminding us about Atiku leadership of other democratic heroes to be loyal to the constitution and kill the bill of 3rd term in the NASS despite Obasanjo’s Ghana must go bags of bribe.

The NASS is in his pocket and the constitution specifies a two thirds majority. They used a voice vote by which no one can tell. That's illegal.

Secondly I didn't say the declaration of the state of emergency was illegal, I said the removal of the state govt was unconstitutional. They are two entirely different things.

Finally the Supreme Court which is also in his pocket deliberately delayed the issues and eventually side stepped the critical question as to power to suspend elected officials.
Obasanjo was right about how dangerous Tinubu is to our democracy, with Wike’s help in destroying the judiciary.

The only surprise is that the same Obasanjo helped Tinubu fight for power and grab it, maybe because he is jealous of Jonathan and Atiku being better administrators than him.

Wike Boasts Of Helping APC Use Judiciary To Kill Osun LG Funds Case, Warns Party Leaders Against Ingratitude

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has openly boasted that he assisted certain elements within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in deploying the judiciary to frustrate the Osun State local government allocation lawsuit.

In a video now circulating widely on social media and obtained by SaharaReporters, Wike made the claim while addressing a crowd in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The former Rivers governor accused the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, of benefitting from judicial actions against the Osun State Government without knowing those who did the work behind the scenes.

The suit in question led to the withholding of local government funds in Osun State, a development widely seen as targeting the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke as opposition in the state.

Wike, who spoke angrily, suggested that the court action supporting the APC’s position against the Osun government did not happen by chance, boasting that powerful political forces worked quietly to ensure the outcome.

“Don’t take our support for Mr President for granted,” Wike warned, in an apparent message to APC leaders defending Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara. “You have to be careful about the statements you make. You have to be very careful.”

He accused Basiru of political ingratitude, claiming the APC was enjoying in Osun State without understanding who engineered their advantage.

“Today, you are enjoying in Osun. You don’t know those who did the work,” Wike said. “You are opening your mouth to talk about Rivers State.”

Tony Elumelu in 2022 publicly crying about oil theft in the Nigeria Petroleum sector...
One would wonder why Tony will support Tinubu now? I know the Obidients will start calling him names now...

He supports the amalanomics expert in balablu bulaba propaganda politics because of his own personal interest.

An example is his bank arranging SPV loan for $3.3 billion to defend the naira which failed to help Tinubu achieve his N300/$1 short term goal.

If it’s true that oil theft has reduced so much then why is Tinubu using Elumelu to take SPV loans secured by future oil revenue, at the outrageous rate of 11.85%?

By the way, why are you labouring in vain to cyber bully Nigerians to stop asking questions about our money huh

It’s up to the people to be vigilant and protect their own interests against politicians who want to destroy us before they die.

May Ogogo’s soul RIP.

I love watching him in the classic film- Owo Blow. Masterful performance of a well scripted film, the first two parts.
