Has the state upgraded its primary and secondary schools with enough well paid professional teachers for the free education of all children, since it is the bedrock for sustainable development
gigabyte13: Pdp prosperity.....? Do you know the amount pdp spent on power supply....?? Number of ASUU strikes.....? Petrol queues every festive periods.. Is that your definition of prosperity....??
You can focus on propaganda, or you can focus on facts. Your choice. Your consequences.
thisweekng: The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chief Olawale Edun has said the last time Nigeria’s economy looked stable was about a decade ago.
He made this statement during his maiden press conference as Minister of Finance where he outlined President Bola Tinubu’s vision, agenda and strategy for the economy.
He said, “I think as we all know, we are not where we should be. The economy is barely growing above the rate of population growth.
“But it was not always so, and I think in trying to look at the way forward, if we now have a situation of slow growth, double-digit inflation, weak/depreciating exchange rate, as well as security concerns that are resulting in an economy that is not growing and not taking Nigerians out of poverty.
“If we think back to the last time when the economy was stable- when it was growing, when inflation was low, and the interest rate was affordable, that period was about a decade ago. Growth was about 6% in 2013 and 2014.” Private sector to drive the economy
NNPCL’s subsidy payment jump by 47.9% to N7.1trn in 2024
November 26, 2025
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) paid a total of N7.1 trillion as subsidy for premium motor spirit (PMS) in 2024, this sum represents a 47.9 percent increase from N4.8 trillion recorded in 2023.
This is despite the government’s announcement of subsidy removal in 2023.
The company explained that the amount, which it termed ‘energy security expense’ arises when there is differential between the exchange rate used to freeze the premium motor spirit ex-coastal price and the prevailing rate at the point of import settlement.
According to the report, government had instructed that NNPC Limited cannot sell its PMS above a certain regulated price. It added that the cost of petrol import is usually much higher that the regulated price.
aswani: They didn't give you cheap petrol or dollars, they were kicking a can of debt issues down the line. The house of cards would have collapsed soon enough on top of the common man's head while they and their family simply went to start a new of continue their lives abroad.
You think you got cheap anything while they and their friends in the petrol industry were making fortunes out of the subsidy regime.
Is Tinubu and his friends making more fortunes or less than PDP politicians did when we had cheap petrol and less corruption

PDPdestroyer: US shouldn't try shit. Atiku is our saviour, the man to librate us from the problem of Fulani herdsmen that only started after Buhari became president, return our economy to one of the top 10 globally, give us stable power like we were enjoying before 2015, make our roads motorable again like they were between 1999-2015, and bridge the long-existing gap between the rich and the poor.
Atiku as part of Obasanjo’s administration did far better than Buhari and Tinubu’s APC have done in all aspects of governance.
This includes the fact that they are less corrupt than APC vuvuzela noisemakers of corruption will kill us if we don’t kill it first. Otherwise, why did we have less debt than now, when Atiku and PDP gave us cheap petrol, cheap dollars and less unemployment with high productivity that made us the biggest economy in Africa?
socialmediaman: The 2018 Rating by Transparency International placed Nigeria at 148th position out of 180 countries. Nigeria was improving over the years under the previous government, until Buhari got elected as president, things became worse.
There is a difference between fact and fiction. We need to face facts, Buhari is worse than GEJ when it comes to fighting corruption, at least that’s what the facts prove.
Most of us believed there was corruption under Goodluck Jonathan’s Government. I agree with those who did, there was corruption, but not as bad as it is today under Mohammadu Buhari.
In 2012, Nigeria was placed at 139th position, In 2014, Nigeria gained 3 steps and was placed at 136th position. Under Buhari, Nigeria has lost many positions down to 148th.
There’s no further proof needed that corruption has worsened under Buhari’s government compared to previous years.
Just that many of you are just haters. Trump that narrowly escaped impeachment twice is now your savior and Democrats. The same guy that is wrecking everywhere globally. Continue, by 2031, una body go calm down
How can anyone be a worse hater of Nigeria than the balablu bulaba master strategist of propaganda politics? The man who begged Buhari to make Jonathan a one term president after APC invited terrorists to destroy our country. He called Buhari expired in 2011 o, when he tried and failed to stop Jonathan’s election with a Fulani candidate on his ACN platform.
Did he not delegate his own responsibility as CinC to Trump on Christmas Day, for the American president to kill innocent northerners as collateral damage in his search for Muslim terrorists accused of Christian genocide?
gigabyte13: Atiku zero manifestos OBI zero manifestos Their only manifesto is TINUBU..... So who will take this clowns serious...... They are just making PBAT more popular than he is. They are not even selling themselves to Nigerians.
Atiku’s manifesto is simply a return to the better days of PDP prosperity, peace and security with cheap petrol, cheap dollars and less debt.
WizardOfNG: "Mike Arnold's" obsession with Nigeria is fascinating but not surprising. Every drifter and layabout is looking for "projects" today in the social media age to gain virtue-signalling fame and prominence.
PBAT is President and about to complete his first term. "All eyes on the judiciary" did not prevent him leading as our President.
How will supposedly cash forfeiture, linked to a speculated drug case, Tinubu was never criminally convicted of now remove or disqualify him?
Opposition should get serious. Only the likes of Atiku and Obi can be excited about this nonsense because they never built political capacity, loyalists and useful mentees as Tinubu did over decades while planning patiently and meticulously to be President.
They failed to make hay while the sun was shinning because they are lazy and not talented at political leadership.
As "food is ready" politicians Atiku and Obi think they can land in Aso Rock via some disqualification technicality against PBAT. We dey laugh.
Where has president aBAT led us with his amalanomics? Extreme poverty and insecurity shege that is worse than the situation handed over to him by his clueless APC predecessor
Lithiumite: ADC name ur own council make we see, wetin concern you with tinubu own and we still dey wait atiku make he come tell us how he go take bring back subsidy.
What is there to tell you about what he did already without giving us huge debt burden, and without wrecking our economy to 4th place in Africa?
Why choose to perish from lack of knowledge and history?
anonimi: Nigeria remains fourth largest economy in Africa despite rebasing
July 21, 2025
Nigeria has retained its status as the fourth largest economy in Africa despite a rebasing exercise that expanded the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) announced that the economy expanded to N372.8 trillion ($243 billion) in 2024, down from N314.02 trillion in the prior year as more sectors in the informal economy were considered in its calculations.
The statistics bureau adopted 2019 as its base year away from 2010 that’s previously reported.
The rebasing exercise covers the period from 2019 to 2023 and reflects changes in the economy’s structure, sectoral contributions, and data sources.
Despite the overhaul, Nigeria fails to reclaim its erstwhile status as the largest economy in Africa.
According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), South Africa remains the continent’s biggest economy with a GDP of $410.34 billion for a country with little over a quarter of Nigeria’s population.
Following the Southern African nation is Egypt with a GDP of $347 billion while Algeria maintains its third position having $268.9 billion as the size of its economy.
Although Nigeria’s economy grew 30 percent above the projected $188 billion estimate by the IMF this year, the rebasing was poised to place the economy as the biggest in Africa.
1. Atiku Abubakar: A former US congressman, William J. Jefferson, kept funds in a freezer that he said he was sending to Atiku, about $500,000, to secure telecoms contract. Atiku had been accused of corruption by El Rufai and Obasanjo. Obasanjo said Atiku paud bribes to get Obasanjo impeached. Atiku's audio on SPV to siphon public funds was released by Achimugu. Atiku admitted to paying power sector contractors 100% of the funds and they disappeared. Atiku also promised to make his friends rich.
2. Rotimi Amaechi: why didn't he complete the monorail?
3. Dino Melaye: shows off lavish lifestyle, luxury cars and substandard constituency projects. He said he made money from goat business.
4. Rauf Aregbesola: half salary.
5. David Mark: telephone is not meant for the poor.
6. Bolaji Abdullahi: he lied that ADC supported Accord in Osun. His lie was exposed.
None of these people is anywhere as bad as Tinubu who made Lagos budget grow 100 times to N4.2 trillion from higher tax burden on Lagosians for 27 years but has failed to employ enough workers to make education free for all children and water available to all households.
What is he doing with this money apart from stealing it?
Is this not the same thing he is doing in Abuja?
Who is worse than the balablu bulaba master strategist of propaganda politics?
Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun made this known at the end of the inaugural Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja. Mr. Edun said that the benefit of the subsidy removal will be plough back into various sectors to improve business environment for local and foreign investment. He added that with the increased revenue from subsidy removal, various palliatives have been made available to cushion its effect on a short, medium and long-term basis.
Ofunaofu: Report: Current Govt Added More Debt in Two Years Than Nigeria Accumulated in 55 Years
• Decries Nigeria’s debt service-to-revenue ratio
•Urges FG to declare fiscal emergency
A new policy brief has warned that Nigeria’s worsening debt profile and weak revenue generation have pushed the country into a dangerous fiscal position, with the current administration accumulating more debt in two years than Nigeria recorded during its first 55 years after independence.
The report, released by the Alliance for Economic Research and Ethics LTD/GTE, a Nigerian policy think tank, argued that the country’s debt crisis has evolved into a governance and revenue emergency, as debt servicing obligations now exceed the federal government’s retained earnings. > > According to the think tank, Nigeria’s public debt rose sharply from N87.38 trillion in June 2023 to N159.28 trillion by the end of 2025, with President Bola Tinubu’s administration accounting for about N65.9 trillion of the increase within its first two years in office.
The organisation in the brief titled: “Nigeria Is Borrowing to Breathe—and the Clock Is Ticking”, noted that Nigeria accumulated only about N12.06 trillion in debt from independence in 1960 up to 2015, meaning the current administration added more than five times that amount in just 24 months.
The report stated that while previous governments also contributed significantly to the country’s rising debt burden, the speed of accumulation under the current administration had intensified concerns over fiscal sustainability.
“President Bola Tinubu’s administration has added a further N65.9 trillion in just two years. To put that in perspective: it took Nigeria’s first 55 years of independence to accumulate N12 trillion in debt. The current administration has added more than five times that amount in 24 months,” it argued.
It recalled that Nigeria briefly became almost debt-free externally after the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo secured an $18 billion Paris Club debt relief package in 2005 and paid $12 billion to extinguish about $30 billion in external obligations.

The better politicians in PDP even gave us less corruption than APC extreme poverty and insecurity shege masters.

Abdul05: The ADC can raise questions, but Tinubu should be judged by his policies, achievements, and performance, not just allegations. If anyone has been legally cleared, they should be allowed to move forward. Ultimately, Nigerians will decide in 2027.
Achievements like worsening poverty, unemployment, inflation, insecurity?
Or what other achievement has the amalanomics expert?
KingRabota: Have you heard of the curse of Oil ? Angola Argentina (no oil here but there economic fluctuations are crazy) Romania ( the oil was squandered till it finished, though they have a strong indigenous petroleum engineering services sector) My point being that rarely dyu hear about the nationals of these countries involved in the kind of shii an average n9a man/woman will commit , without hesitation.
Is it your point that people in these countries drink water from shitty boreholes, and that they have less than 5% schools run by government after growing budget 100 times from increased tax burden on people?
helpee: Convince you? I dont care about you. Most Nigerians are not patriotic . They have a wrong impression about the outside world so they dont appreciate what they have. Boy, ive been to more than 80 countries, i have girlfriends from over 30 countries. In context, i work on cruise ships among over 100 nationalities so i am well exposed and ive visited so many countries to visit friends, colleagues and girllfriends from all over the world. I can tell you for free...the only problem of Nigeria are the unpatriotic citizens that run down this country on the internet thinking they are doing something good. When the eyes of Nigerians open and they start projecting the good image of this country, no one will care about your crime infested township.
Do you know better than those who assessed us to have the most extreme poverty paupers in the world
Alabig1000: They went to visit their terror*st uncle , brother etc
There is no bigger terrorist than the amalnomics expert in Aso Rock.
Did he not beg Buhari to make Jonathan a one term president, after APC invited terrorists to destroy Nigeria?
Did he not announce the release of Oyo kidnapped victims after Makinde recounted the timeline?
iwaeda: Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Friday said the abduction of pupils and teachers from Oriire Local Government Area occurred just hours after he declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election.
Makinde made the remark while addressing a meeting with Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed and leaders of the Allied Peoples Movement in Bauchi, recalling that Oyo had not recorded a similar incident during his seven years in office before the May 15 attack.
“For seven years, we didn’t witness anything like this in Oyo State. I declared to run for the presidency of Nigeria at four o’clock, and by 9 a.m. the following morning, the children were abducted,” Makinde said.
Hours after Makinde’s remarks in Bauchi, the Presidency announced that all the victims had been rescued after spending 56 days in captivity.
The Presidency said the victims were freed during a joint operation involving the military, the Department of State Services and the police, with eight suspected kidnappers arrested and others neutralised.
DeepSight: Aside from the ethnic nepotism, BAT really dissapointed in the quality of appointees. He was always expected to produce a constellation of stars.
You mistake balablu bulaba propaganda for intelligence.
What did his constellation of stars achieve in Lagos State in 27 years of increasing budget 100 times from higher tax burden on people? What did the progreThief achieve in free education for all children? What did he achieve in water supply?
What else is more basic in governance than these two things
yarimo: WIKE the tiger of the Niger delta you have spoken well, no any opposition in Nigeria. Scammers pretending to be patriotic opposition leaders everywhere
Can anyone be a worse scammer than the amalanomics expert of balablu bulaba propaganda?
The master strategist who said subsidy is gone in May 2023 but continues to pay under a different name, while increasing debt burden on Nigerian people.
byinks: If fuel subsidy will be the downfall of wicked APC so be it. Who makes such a decision 10 minutes into the job ? It is premeditated cruelty. They should reverse it or someone else will.
If Tinubu has failed to reverse it for four years, then why are you not working hard for the person who said he will reverse the premeditated cruelty of wicked APC?
Someone who was an integral part of the team that made subsidies available for cheap petrol without heavy debt burden?
KingRabota: I seriously disagree we are not the only country where basic infrastructure is a luxury, poverty endemic and money is worshipped. Neither are we the only country that has all the preceeding and still has an inept and incompetent government to boot. But some of the things we do in the name of " huzzle"
As a people we are factory fitted with indiscipline as a gene and have next to zero morality or conscience.. Let me not say more
What other country has so much oil and a super smart people that can’t employ enough well paid workers to make water available to households
The federal government is not responsible for water supply in cities and towns. This is the responsibility of states.
500 gallons of water go for N20k. Multiply by 4 in a month, that's N80k. By extrapolation, that's N960k in a year on water alone. Why? Because the governor believes that clean and accessible water is the least of his worries. Yet they prance around like Enugu is Abuja even though the red muddy soil will have residents looking like they went tomb-raiding at night.
But then, considering where it was before Peter Mba, one can understand the accolades being that he moved the town from 16th Century to 17th Century but not anywhere near 20th Century. 21st Century is a stretch. EEDC? The worst of all.
The Permanent Secretary, Office of Drainage Services and Water Resources in Lagos State, Mahmood Adegbite, has said that people drilling borehole in the Lekki axis of the state is probably drinking ‘’shit water.”
While speaking at a stakeholders meeting in the state recently, Adegbite noted that contaminated boreholes in Lekki pose health risk and added that treatment of waste water would eradicate any form of disease that may arise from it.
He said, “On waste water treatment, I will say that everyone digging borehole within the Lekki axis is probably drinking what I will call ‘shit water.’
