SoNature: While I am not his fan, technocrats who served under Goodluck Jonathan apparently remain some of the best brains that ever came out of this country.
Today, I've yet to pick out one professional whose impact is felt across the nooks and crannies of this country.
If Buhari's definition of governance (settling party loyalists with sensitive positions) is what democracy truly is, then democracy isn't worth it.
Buhari and his goons have taken Nigeria's leadership to an all time low!
Congratulations to Mr. Adesina!
This is an award truly deserved!
Jonathan may not be a great politician and succeeded in our politics by chance but he is no doubt a fine administrator who has the best record in governance since 1999 and maybe after Gowon since independence.
Jonathan could have sacked him when the story of N60 billion mobile phones for farmers was being pushed by detractors of his administration but did not. Just as he did not sack SEC's Arunma Oteh over another fake news pressure.
2Legit2Qui: FG not spending N60bn on mobile phones for farmers —Minister
MINISTER of Agriculture, Dr Akinwumi Adesina, has denied news reports that the Federal Government is to spend N60 billion on purchase of mobile phones for rural farmers, describing the reports as false and a misrepresentation of rural farmers’ mobile empowerment initiative.
Speaking exclusively with the Nigerian Tribune, the minister said N60 billion mentioned in the story was almost the entire budget of the Ministry of Agriculture, adding that “we have not arrived at the budget for the mobile initiative.”
According to him, the total cost, when determined, could not be anywhere near the figure mentioned in the story.
“Even if we are to give mobile phones to 10 million rural farmers at N6,000 per one, the cost would still be around N6 billion. How then did they arrive at N60 billion?
“But we have not even taken any decision. I can, however, tell you six reasons why the rural farmer mobile initiative is being sponsored by the Federal Government.
“The first is to reach farmers so that they can access fertilisers and other farm inputs. The second is to ensure financial inclusion by linking the rural farmers directly to banks for farm subsidies and others.
“The third is to enable farmers to get extension services information which they presently have no access to one.
“Fourth is to create alert channel to farmers in cases of flood and draught and, lastly, we want farmers to have access to market information for better returns on their produce,” the minister said.
He further said “I want to assure Nigerians that we are not spending N60 billion on the project. We are yet to take final decision.”
shogsman: Now they have achieved their aim,no one will come out to protest again, this country is fvcked
The country is not fcvked. The people of the country, 200 million Nigerians have fcvked themselves up and allowed a small group to fcvk them up anally.
The way barawo bubu watched Gandollar video and said no case
okaynigeria: Muhammadu Buhari, the President of Nigeria, has finally spoken on video of Governor of Kano Abdullahi Ganduje allegedly collecting kickbacks in dollars from a contractor.
During a live presidential town hall meeting ‘The Candidates’, Buhari said he is doubting the video showing the Ganduje collecting the bribe in dollars as he smiles and laugh.
OkayNG reported that the live event was held at the Ladi Kwali Conference Centre, Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, on Wednesday.
When asked by the moderator Kadira Ahmed on why he hasn't reacted to the corruption allegation against Ganduje, Buhari said:
“Can Ganduje fail to trust somebody to give the money to him?
“That clip, somebody brought it to me of how the Kano Governor was receiving dollars and smiling and putting it in his pocket. I don’t know the extent of technology used and I can’t answer now because the state assembly has gone to court I decided not to talk about it, and the state assembly constitutionally could have dealt with that but then I heard the matter was taken to court,” the president said.
The moderator then asked Buhari if he believes the video is fake or real but Vice President Osinbajo tried to intervene. At this point, the moderator cuts him short, saying: “he can talk for himself.”
Buhari then replied that: “As I told you, I’ve seen the clip; I don’t know how much technology was used but can Ganduje fail to get somebody to get the money to him [and] he has to take it directly himself, smiling?
“I honestly am completely overwhelmed and the system has given me some relief; it’s in the court, it is in the state assembly so let them as much as possible deal with it. This thing has received a lot of publicity and I hope by the time I go on my campaign for re-election there will be some answers from the court and the state assembly in Kano state about the video.”
Officialgarri: And why did all cases linger for more than 10 years? When you see something good appreciate it instead of finding loopholes that doesn't exist
Ask the judges who are an independent arm of government.
Prophet777: Everyone has a free hand under Jonathan administration...
Not a single person was convicted.
All of these under Buhari's govt.
Were they not continuously prosecuted through different court levels in his five years such that final conviction can happen under barawo bubu
Appeal Court reduces ex-Gov Joshua Dariye’s jail term November 16, 2018
The Court of Appeal in Abuja has reduced the jail term of ex-Governor Joshua Dariye to 10 years.
PREMIUM TIMES reported how Mr Dariye, a former Plateau State governor, was in June sentenced to 14 years in prison by the high court.
However, the appeal court on Friday said while the conviction was right, the former governor should have been jailed for 10 years.
The court reduced the sentence of 14 years to 10 years for criminal breach of trust while a similar conviction for diversion of N1. 62 billion ecological funds was reduced from two years to one year. The sentences are to run concurrently, like the previous judgement in June, meaning Mr Dariye has now been effectively jailed 10 years.
The appeal court ruled that the lower court erred in law when it sentenced Mr Dariye, a first time offender, to the maximum 14 years term contained in the charge against him.
According to the court, the sentence was handed down in the season of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act which does not allow maximum sentence for first time offenders.
It would be recalled that High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Gudu, Abuja, presided by Justice Adebukola Banjoko on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 sentenced Mr Dariye who was a serving senator to 14 years’ imprisonment on charges of criminal breach of trust and criminal appropriation of the state’s funds.
The ex-governor was convicted on 15 out the 23 counts preferred against him in July 2007.
Don't get too excited. Prince Audu, former Kogi governor was handcuffed in 2006 but promised to refund his N11 billion loot and barawo bubu's Alliance of Past/Present Crooks, APC made him their governatorial candidate.
mexzzy47: Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kogi State Chapter Alhaji Hadi Ametuo has appealed to Kogi State citizens to elect his party’s gubernatorial candidate Prince Abubakar Audu promising that the N11 billion allegedly embezzled by the former governor while in office will be returned to the state.
Ametuo made the appeal while addressing newsmen after the Eid el-Kabir 2015 prayers. He rated Prince Audu Abubakar’s first term in the office more than the current government of Capt. Idris Wada. He said that Prince Abubakar Audu deserves the votes of the people of Kogi state due to his experience and achievements in his first time at the Lugard House.
While responding to questions from the press men regarding Audu’s N11 billion naira EFCC case, he said
“Nobody is a saint. No governor can claim he has not done any malpractice or stolen anything during his time in the office, we heard of Saraki case, even Tinubu is being accused of stolen funds but the truth is that Prince Abubakar Audu has pledged to return the money to the Kogi treasury when he gets elected on the November 21st, yes he will return the N11 billion naira or even more than that and that will add to the Kogi economy.”
Prince Abubakar Audu is being prosecuted by the EFCC for misappropriating N11 billion of the states’s funds while he was governor between 1999 and 2003.
The EFCC is prosecuting Prince Audu Abubakar and his co-accused for offences bordering on criminal breach of trust and misappropriation of public funds to tune of N10,965,837,040 (Ten billion, Nine hundred and Sixty Five Million, Eight Hundred and Thirty Seven Thousand and Forty Naira) they were arraigned on March 18, 2013 on a 36-count charge.
Asked if he is aware of the sufferings and deaths the stolen funds has brought to the people of Kogi State, he said, they will not have to suffer any more if they elect Audu on November 21, 2015.
Freeman59: My brother I'm igbo. But a corrupt person is corrupt. If it's a witch hunt for Igbos well that's their business but I hope this same thing extends to every useless politician in that Nigeria
nzeobi: Am so happy, next will be T. A orji, rochas, nnamani, igbinedion, tinubu, akpabio, aregbeshola, and obiano
Was the barawo bubu blind when he selected Akpabio and AreGbese as ministers, something that "corrupt" Obasanjo and Jonathan did not do As for Thiefnuibu, forget him, he will buy the justice as he did before. Even in the US he settled them rather than go to jail for his drug dealer indictment.
Freegift75: Code Of Conduct Tribunal Freed Bola Tinubu In Error – Rotimi Jacobs . . . Rotimi Jacobs, a senior advocate of Nigeria and the Federal Government prosecuting counsel in the 13 count charge of false assets declaration trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki on Thursday said the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) was misled to discharge former Governor of Lagos State Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he was arraigned before it in November 2011.
ur sins are forgiven? hahahaha, buhari doesnt mess around with fools
Is it a function of being part of the 5% or just a show that has been arranged to reduce our NOISE about the comrade chairman's statement and barawo bubu's defence of his esprit de loot fellow coup plotter?

Omooba77: National chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Falalu Bello has raised the alarm that the country’s debt profile has skyrocketed from $10bn when President Buhari took over in 2015 to $84bn. Bello who was at different times the managing director of Unity, Habib and Intercity banks, while speaking during a media dialogue in Abuja, urged the National Assembly not to approve the $29.9bn loan request of President Buhari before it.
Is it our president who has said that we should ignore World Bank and other international statistics about our country who will listen to this "inconsequential" PRP man
Buhari faults World Bank, IMF statistics about Nigeria
He said, “As you develop your baseline study, I would like you to focus on primary data collection. Today, most of the statistics quoted about Nigeria are developed abroad by the World Bank, IMF and other foreign bodies.
“Some of the statistics we get relating to Nigeria are wild estimates and bear little relation to the facts on the ground. This is disturbing as it implies we are not fully aware of what is happening in our own country.
Members of the National Assembly soon shouted down with screams of “nooooo”, “nooooo”, “lieessss” when he started talking about achievements of his administration.
The shout was loudest when Buhari said “the economy has recovered from recession”, and that Boko Haram had been degraded in the northeast, this made the president pause at different intervals.
The president’s supporters however, cheered and clapped in solidarity, as the voice of his opponents resonated within the chamber. However, President Buhari in response to some unruly chants by some members of the National Assembly, said: “Distinguished members, let us conduct ourselves properly. May I remind members of the National Assembly that the world is watching us. We are supposed to be above this."
Crvrider: Painful thing is we can't ascertain if she's married or still single. I have seen situations where ladies would pursue and attain degrees more than you have on a thermometer but throw all that way after marriage leaving their husbands dreams. Painfull

fergie001: Sani Musa, senator representing Niger east, and Sabi Abdullahi, senator representing Niger north, say bandits have overtaken their state.
Musa is the sponsor of the bill seeking to regulate social media while Abdullahi is the sponsor of that which is seeking to curb hate speech.
Raising a matter of urgent national importance on Wednesday, Musa said the security architecture in his constituency “is not working”.
“There are no security agencies intercepting them. You cannot imagine the victims I have seen, they will hardly survive because they are all having injuries from gunshots,” the senator said.
“So I’m bringing this matter of urgency to this hallowed chamber to rise to this occasion because the insecurity is becoming alarming and if we should allow it continue and we feel safe here, we are not safe. I’m putting this motion so that something drastic can be done.
“I will want this house to resolve in calling the security chiefs to order. The security architecture in that area is not working. The bandits from Katsina, Zamfara are all in Niger state.”
Why are these public office holders such terrible liars like their Alliance of Past/Present Crooks, APC president
EmptyCoconutHead: @ anonimi do u always jerk off to Buhari's picture? haven't seen this level of obsession before.. assuming u channel this your level of hatred to something positive by now you would have built a house on ur own and have something meaningful to achieve by the end of 2019.
Anyways not surprised. IPOB and bitterness go hand in hand.
payperpost: then why is the herdsmen not getting the IPOB treatment? you don't go on peoples farm , hold them at gun point and destroy their farms! the one in detention should identify the perpetrators!
Fulani are lazy cowards who think they are brave because their brother is the President who failed to stop them from carrying AK47
They have always been brave, even before their brother was president. If in doubt, have you heard any update on what happened to those who responded to the fatwa to soak dogs and baboons in blood for losing election in 2011.
helinues: Thank God they have been arrested? Why can't they report the case to police instead of storming people's farm.
Let them rot in jail
Definitely not in the jail of barawo bubu. Instead Hell Rufai will settle them with federal allocation received from the oil revenue and alcohol VAT paid by southerners. That is how we roll in the Fulani Republic of Naijeriya, FRN.
