TGM2015: With international recognitions for Electoral reforms and Democracy Hero, he has to accept the outcome. One thing I love about him is, he managed his failure successfully to turn around the failure to a bigger success. As at today, he is more recognised than Obasanjo in Africa politics of electoral and democracy matters. So the Jonathan of today is no more a PDP person (though will never denied being a member) but a person for Election Sportsmanship. I think is high time Jonathan distance himself from any political campaigns and becomes Father for all. God bless him. I am not sure if the bold is correct. |

ornicus: i know you see bola tinubu as a thief. but i have lived in lagos since 1999. take it or leave it, Lagos has progressed. once upon a time, the only way to et to vi on time was to be at cms by 6am. this was before lastma.
watch gangs of new york. that is where nigeria is at this time. it is nice to have lily white corruption free people, but they will get you no where. that is sjw democrat thinking. There are those who lived in Lagos before 1999 and know that things have gotten worse despite more oil money and IGR from the people.Splashme: The first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, on Tuesday, said that the cancellation of the Lagos metroline project in 1985 was a major mistake and disservice to many Nigerians.
Jakande spoke in Lagos during the launch of a book which chronicled his life in politics and journalism.
The book, entitled, ‘Jakande: Leadership in Action’ is written by Dr. Bola Olaosebikan, who told the audience at the event that the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), was not responsible for the cancellation of the project.
Jakande said, “Reflecting on the metroline project, I think it is a major disservice to many Nigerians. Imagine how many people would have benefitted. It would have made life easier and changed the face of transport in Lagos. Whoever cancelled it or gave the advice towards its cancellation didn’t do right.”
The former governor asked Nigerians not to vote for unserious leaders in the coming polls, saying the elections presented Nigerians with a good opportunity that should not be squandered.
Expressing the hope that Nigeria would soon overcome its developmental challenges, Jakande said hope would be actualised faster if credible people emerged as leaders in the next dispensation.
He said, “This book comes at a very auspicious time in Nigeria’s history as we need leaders who can act. We need leaders who would not compromise the standards of good governance. God has blessed this nation the most in Africa, although we have not reached where we should be; with the right leaders, Nigeria would overcome its challenges.”

WHO SAYS 4 YEARS IN OFFICE IS NOT ENOUGH FOR MEANINGFUL ACHIEVEMENTS?
IT'S A FACT THAT 90% OF GOVERNORS IN NIGERIA SINCE 1999 WITH REVENUES AT THEIR DISPOSAL CANNOT BOAST OF A QUARTER OF THESE ACHIEVEMENTS EVEN WITHIN THEIR EIGHT YEARS IN OFFICE. |

badboy92: Giant of Africa still using the manual electoral system.
Nigerians are smart and educated but hardly demonstrate these traits back home We are really not educated, if you understand that education is not copy and paste aka listen & cram.Education is knowledge acquisition to be imaginative and creative through a curious, questioning mind. That happens through many complimentary activities, such as excursions, museum visits, volunteering, community service etc. Most of us are just robots- programmed to thing & act within the codes written into us. Nothing else outside of that. https://www.bestsayingsquotes.com/files/famous-quotes-on-lnowledge-2dd2f90c.jpg |

ornicus: Of course there are opportunists who attached themselves to APC.
Even so, the most egregious of these were still checked. What was atiku? Did Bukky and Dino not show Colours once they were in?
That is what success does.
But if Bola tinubu was not a strong leader, APC would never have survived the onslaught of the obj years. It was built from Lagos state up.
That is what pdp needs today. A real leader who can rally everyone together and strategize for the future. But even their so called statesmen are stabbing the party in the back.
Look at jona and Dickson fighting. They could not put the party over their squabble. Nobody will deny Yeye bellow is the most useless governor in Nigeria. But once he won the primary the party closed ranks around him. See el rufai kneeling down to beg for that fucker. That’s what it is Are you suggesting that Tinubu is not an opportunist? Are you about party winning or about the people winning through good governance? |

ornicus: Pdp wake up and smell the ashes. Your party is dead. You have never been anything more than an amalgamation of opportunists.
You need a leader now more than ever, to salvage what is left, but all you have is wike and maybe tambuwal. Wike cannot even be called a local man , much less a statesman.
Atiku is there for the ticket and nothing else. Please what is APC? Thanks. |

Igboblog: 2019 : I Weep For Abians By Wisdom Nwedene (Must Read)
Written by Wisdom Nwedene
Yesterday, pictures of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu branded Tanker distributing free kerosene to people at Umunkpeyi and other locations circulated the social media space.
Many people were seen struggling to get the free kerosene from the tanker.
I was shocked and wept bitterly when I saw the pictures because this is no longer the Abia State I know before.
From Ikpeazu's moves by sharing free kerosene and money to Abians few days to Governorship election, it is crystal clear that he is aware that he has failed the people who entrusted him with power.
I also heard that Ikpeazu said that the dark days are over for the civil servants in Abia State and donated 10 million naira to them.
My question to the civil servants is, will Ikpeazu 10 million naira solve the pains and problems you have been through in the last three and half years?
Let me quickly recall that in the last three and half years, almost all the civil servants in every sector protested over non payments of their salaries.
Let me do flashback, in 2018, the staff of Abia State owned University teaching hospital, Aba protested and cursed Ikpeazu over non-payment of their 9months salary.
The demonstration was staged Inside the premises of the hospital.
Also, in terms of infrastructure, Ikpeazu has not done well.
Let me also draw your mind to the Osisoma Flyover being constructed by Ikpeazu for over three years now.
Despite his promise that the flyover will be completed in January 2019, the truth is that the project has been abandoned.
When it comes to good road, hospital, empowering the farmers, Ikpeazu has not delivered also.
I don't know any reason a true Abia State born should want Ikpeazu to return to the Government House when he has failed to deliver half of the promises he made in 2015.
If you come to Ebonyi State, you will see what Umahi did in terms of infrastructure . He built many flyovers, good roads and empowered farmers. That's what I expected Ikpeazu to do.
Let me make it clear that I'm not from Abia State and didn't receive a dime to pen down this article but as a journalist, I know it is imperative to speak against evils, injustice, hunger, etc when I see them.
