If Peter Obi becomes president, can he bring out money to develop the East, he will probably be economical in doing his so called "prudent Economists" on us to impress the North. He's stingy to bring out money to take on a substantial gigantic projects as we can't any he executed as a Governor in his state. I would've preferred Dave Umahi as we can see tangible Products scattered everywhere in Ebonyi, but my fear is he's not popular and might not carry APC nominated presidential ticket. Maybe Amaechi will carry the APC presidential ticket. Atiku has stolen POS already. you and who is discussing that rubbish here? U can do ur talking with ur pvc. Awka is a well planned city and fastest developing city in Nigeria aside Abuja. Awka has Awka Millennium city which is the best in igboland. Awka ICC is the best and biggest not just in igboland but Nigeria. It has other new estates like Dubai estate, Efab, Genesis city, Serena city., etc. As far as real estate is concerned in igboland, Awka tops the list.
Enugu is littered with slums from Obiagu to Asata to Emene to Uwani, etc. Enugu is the worst state capital in Nigeria considering that it had been the regional center and benefited so much over the years during regional administration. Ogbete market which is the only market in enugu is a mess where faeces litter everywhere.
Owerri is a glorified village littered with bad roads and filthy environment.
Onitsha is the economic capital of Igbo and most planned igbo city.
Overall, Anambra is the most developed state in igboland.
[s][/s] awka isn't planned i left awka 2019 i lived in ngozika estate road 22 no where i don't know in awka maybe the new millennium city if they can actualize it |

Ofodirinwa: I'm going to share an unpopular but common sense opinion. Mega cities/planned cities are a waste of money and they hurt a place economically, culturally, and governmentally more than they help. They all fail. There is no successful planned mega cities in the world. A city grows naturally into mega-city status because the demand to live there and its economic purpose and positioning. The Dubai everyone is following is currently failing. By the time 'mega cities' reach livability all of the glitz and glam that make them matter is outdated. Once it's outdated, the hype dies soon after. Without the hype you have overpriced empty buildings. Take the money and enhance what you already have and every city will have all of the 'good' of a mega city + a currently existing city has proven that it has it's own lifeblood outside of the hype of being new and shiny.
Even China has realized it's a mistake and is scaling back on mega planned cities. Enhance the cities you already have. Cities become 'mega' when they're supposed to. what do you mean by mega city? The guy was talking about smart city u are saying a different thing, it's only in Nigeria u will see people buying lands and building nonsense that is why our buildings keeps collapsing and poor roads and open drainages everywhere. Look at Egypt and South Africa and other norther African countries this people their cities looks like Europeans why? Because they follow European style of development. U can never compare any nigerian cities to those countries. If govt can not build let them map out lands creat streets construct under ground drainages, pave walkways plant trees maybe underground electric wires then tell people what they can build and how to build it, look at how owerri is developing unplanned apart from ikenegbu other places isn't planned base on streets. South African govt are building more cities and expanding some Egypt is building new capital city and more cities. When you travel u know that our cities is complete sithole even lagos is nothing compare to other African countries |

Amah70: In this situation, let IMSG leave the federal allocations and income generated in Orlu for development of Orlu; instead of putting those allocations and income into urban expansion and infrastructures in Owerri. People like you believe that state governors must build state capital to international standard- Okorocha's style, before building the urban infrastructures of Orlu and other places. That's what half-educated persons believe. mention one or two things that is giving Imo state govt money in orlu, u think agboro money in a month can buy ten trips of sand, What do u have in orlu? Mugu |

Amah70: Land alone does not make up landed properties. Cost of buildings, rent, hotel and hostel accommodation fees, are also in cost of landed properties. They are very high in Owerri area. In Orueast LGA, and indeed, in the other LGAs of Orlu senatorial district, cost of landed properties is ten times lower than cost of landed properties in Irete, Umuguma, Uratta, Naze, not to mention Owerri city centre itself. Governors from Orlu senatorial zone who build infrastructures only in Owerri make indigenous land owners of Owerri to get super rich, but impoverish people in Orlu senatorial district, because they can't build or reconstruct social infrastructures in Orlu area. how much do you think orlu town is generating in a month and compare it to what abia is getting from aba, what do u have in orlu if not that useless open market no company ur useless brothers prefer building whatever they like outside imo State instead of them to bring their investment home to make orlu a busy town somebody like orange drugs mumuly built his company in Onitsha how many nnewi man owns kiosk in onitsha? u are always here making caricature of ur self. Now u want imo State government to build hotels and residential buildings and also increase the value of orlu lands. Zombie |
Politics › Re: Few Pics From Imo State by anselem87(m): 10:56am On Mar 04, 2022 |
Amah70: Bolded
Your LGA is not far from Orlu: Okporo where the hospital is, is nearly halfway between Omuma in Orueast LGA and Orlu LGA. In fact, people from Omuma will get to Okporo hospital earlier than people from Amike and Eziachi in Orlu. The government you represent on NL refuses to rebuild the crumbling urban infrastructures in Orlu. By implication, it's like also arresting modern development in the LGAs near Orlu. If IMSG had refused to provide Owerri with needed devt infrastructures, Naze, Irete, Umuguma, Uratta, Ohi, Orogwe, would remain rural villages with only their indigenous people today. Cost of landed properties in these Owerri areas have hit the roof. Cost of landed properties in an area is indicator to the level of modern development in the area. every time keep on talking about cheap cost of landed properties in orlu and how owerri land is very cost, so without selling your papa land u no fit blow on ur own? common don't be lazy like yoruba people and look for something doing nonsense |

Today, that nonentity wants to contest for president and expects Imo people to support him. That humpty-dumpty has no business being a leader. Rochas media aid abagwaro was boasting that his Master's successor won't have any work to do. But today I am still Wondering where all this roads hope is doing from. Crook that told imolites that those empty hospital he constructed in 27 LGA cost one billion each. Rochas won't have peace until he left this world |

tiegahpor: You are UNINFORMED..
There is NOTHING wrong with a narrow guage..Most of Europe is still being run with .narrow guage trains..till next year..
Rotimi Amaechi advised that since an existing old narrow guage was abandoned,it can be rehabilitated, upgraded to modern day narrow guage with modern stations, switch boards, etc while waiting for money for a BRAND NEW standard guage...
A Brand new standard guage for the Eastern Railway is still also in the works..
The FG has signed the contract and what's delaying the job(3Billiin dollars plus) is money... Amaechi is looking for money..
You must not bring in ethnic silly sentiments here..
After all,the 2nd Niger Bridge and the Bodo/Bonny bridge are the most HUMONGOUS Infrastructure in the South East/South since 1960 being built by this Buhari led FG...
Why are the northerners not wailing about that
Biko, jiri ya nwayo! mumu afonja man is bony port in SE? Buhari is constructing standard gauge railway from kano to niger republic when there's no one connecting south east, u call second niger bridge igbo project but the ones they are building in yorubaland and hausalands are Nigerian projects, no region is greater or more valuable than others why can't you ask your self why there's agitation of biafra |
