Furious1: Of course, Igbos in general build high rise it's just skyscraper that's remaining although I've seen 15 stories in SE. Owerri has to be the next big skyscraper city in Nigeria if you consider the gas project and the hospitality status. This building is in SE and it's nice take this picture out of here if u have nothing to post, small time now it will become anambra vs imo war |

discusant: Lol.
One can even count in one hand how many high rise buildings there are in London, Paris or Barcelona. Very few. And these are cities that started building for over 500 years. What is the obsession in some people with high rise buildings in Owerri, in Imo state where no other place outside Owerri has common drainage systems, good roads or sustainable water supply projects? Pls don't quote me take ur stupidity elsewhere we are not on same page If Rochas Okorocha continued as governor through his son-in-law, he would have bent to pressure and built high rise buildings in Owerri. Next governor will pull them down because of quack work, and they are not necessary for now. |

For now, we are just making unnecessary noise. I'm igbo before you chop my head. I'm posting this to rescue ur mind from perpetual mediocrity. comparing lusaka to owerri is stupidity at the highest level |

As for the building opposite Rockview hotel, I thought it will be office complex or shopping plaza. I spent a lot of time moving around Owerri from Sunday to Monday because of the issue of insecurity in Owerri because there were rumors that people are afraid to move around the city and police officers are no longer staying on their duty post. But those rumors are all lies, in fact is like people are flocking into the city everyday by day and people are building more and more as if they didn't witness convid19. There's new hotel opposite rockview hotel, I think that building must be hotel. I like the fact that it's gonna be a high rise building at six floor already. I would have taken a lot of pictures but due to harsh weather so I couldn't do so. I will keep on lamenting about the poor situation of those inland Bridges that connects old Owerri to new Owerri especially the assumpta avenue to warehouse junction back of Mbari kitchen and the river bank those places is an eyesore, one to two billion can turn those places to something else but rochas and hope will be busy constructing and reconstructing roundabouts, rochas wasted alot of money erecting pillars on the streets, nonsense |

Abagworo: Which infrastructure? I'm yet to see much improvement compared with the past as I stated earlier on this thread and it is nothing personal. I've been watching videos and photos of Owerri all over the net and nothing spectacular has happened not to talk of in the villages. How many new schools, have the hospitals been completed yet?
In terms of infrastructure Uzodinma is better than Ihedioha cause he has destroyed less and built more. He only destroyed one tunnel and Somto Hospital. However Ihedioha shall beat him hands down in any free and fair election because he played better politics by restricting his fight to Okorocha without attacking IPOB so he is in their good book unlike Uzodinma. but ur Oga okorocha said that his successor won't have any work to do but hope is busy since doing roads I don't know if those roads exist in IMO or abia |

Abagworo: Those are institutions . What I want Uzodinma to do that I believe will boost tourism is to build a very beautiful African themed garden park at the Akachi tower and also repair it for visitors to climb and enjoy city view like they used to in the past. That Freedom waterfalls at Warehouse should be completely replaced with a recreational center comprising swimming pool and local Igbo huts. Those 2 alone will attract a lot of people to Owerri especially foreigners who will appreciate a modern display of our traditional architecture. It will compliment the siting of Mbari restaurant in same vicinity.
Many people are misguided about development and economy. To such illiterates building of factories is the only industry they know whereas tourism is a bigger deal and yet leaves your environment free from industrial pollution. how can u build water fall at warehouse roundabout while back of the roundabout is an eyesore. the river front should be develop. that river is the most tourist attraction, I don't know if u ever travel at all |

Abagworo: Only Okorocha understood the importance of recreation parks and sightseeing to development of tourism in Imo State. All his successors are busy trying to prove that those things are not important to the extent of demolishing Freedom Falls and Akachi. Even Heroes Park would have been demolished if not Okorocha's hurried addition of Buhari statue at the end of his tenure. Even the Industrial Park he established as well as the Cargo Airport are laying fallow for sake of visionless successors. Rochas wasted IMO state money for nothing in the name of beautifying owerri the money he wasted erecting pillars on the streets of owerri should have been used to construct underground convert behind mbari kitchen from the first bridge to the second one then construct road on top of the covert the lands by the left and right will become useful and same thing should be done both sides of the river, roads should be constructed both sides of the river linking asumpta road. that place is an eyesore but okorocha leave those things and started roofing owerri with iron and built poor water fountain nearby warehouse roundabout instead of doing what I just said and construct modern water fountain inside the river like three places the water will be going up and landing inside the river that is what tourism is all about not constructing poor structures that can't last up to two years. if I have the opportunity to run IMO u will see what tourism is all about okorocha is an old cargo without brain |

Amah70: So university is not a good thing.
It’s obvious you never attended university, your writings show that.
Universities in Owerri led to development of the area. You want Orlu people to forfeit their federal allocations but contribute money to develop their area. we from ohaji and oguta are more valuable that ur useless Orlu yet we don't rant like u Sitholes, anu mpama |
Politics › Re: Few Pics From Imo State by anselem87(m): 6:41am On Apr 18, 2021 |
Amah70: In bold. No government does “finish development in one zone before moving to the next zone.” My university, in fact, no university, would teach that; because finishing in one zone first means forcing influx of people into the zone you want to finish first.
Chisos of Ndi Orumbe!! only university can bring development to Orlu nothing more, nnewi people are developing their town why can't Orlu do so, u think university is a good thing nonsense |

Amah70: If present governor is Emeka Ihedioha, the teaching hospital MUST be located in Owerri senatorial district.
But see how you tactically excluded Oru East and Orlu/Nkwere/Njaba/Ideato axis.
FYI, it did not start today. Past governors of Imo state had pleaded with the federal government to convert Imo state university teaching hospital Orlu to a federal university teaching hospital. This would have been an ideal time if Minister Nwajiuba and his compatriot at the Federal Health Ministry are on the same page with the people of Imo state. At least, the facilities are already on ground in Orlu. it's seems that u are useless and stupid, before it was why always owerri now u are also against okigwe what u want is ur Orlu, let them move everything to Orlu anu mpama |
