personally, have done recoveries myself. if it's no longer recognized by the Windows PC, I would say you try it on a Linux based PC. Windows based PC often are quick to not show it, but Linux hardly does that.

It doesn't matter if it was used on Winodws OS or not, plug am into a Linux box, it should show up, and from there, you continue what you were doing.

and please don't forget the subtle rule of recovery, limit any more WRITEs onto such disk [even when it starts displaying] for as long as you're still need those data recovered.

reason why I asked your location, was to see if I could be of help.

Don't want to insult you with question of why you didn't make/have backUps, we all at one time or the other, have been there...and sometimes, we need learn the hardWay, to make that change.

PSS: Please I don't want to assume you're a serious PRO and knows what you doing BUT know that, the more futile attempts you make, the less chances of successful recovery.
If you're average enough, and confident, no issue else quit trying, and spend that time looking for that lab or get in touch with me or anyOne in here who's willing to help.
for this nigeria, depending how important those files are, would be weary of trying my luck in any fancy Nigerian owned company who advertises themselves as Data Recovery firm. I'm Nigeria, I'm into IT, but I no trust our people. A lot of us are way way less than HalfBaked, even though most try to win clients with Fancy rich looking offices

I am currently at Asaba, Delta State. Is it possible we meet?

what part of Nigeria do you reside in ?

what sort of Storage media (e.g Hard Disk, SSD, etc) is it ?

On what Operating system was it last used on ?

What is the fileSystem type (e.g btrfs , ext4 , ntfs, FAT32, etc) it was formated in ?

...

It's a hard disk. I'm ready to take it to any part of the country, location isn't a problem. It was last used on Windows.

You know of any lab I can go? Using software to recover it is no longer an option as the hard disk doesn't even get recognized on a computer anymore.

Thanks, I'll try it out

Data analysts in the house, please I need your review on this dashboard.

What I have noticed about Nigerian data analysts (mainly the show-offs) is that they all think data analysis is all about creating dashboards(visuals) as though they are graphic designers. And I can bet it that they didn't really do much of any cleaning and wrangling of data, otherwise they will show that part as well: trust Nigerians.

I don't see Whites post things like dashboards. To them, it's just a normal thing. The 70-80% of an analyst job is spent more on cleaning and preparing the data. This is where the knowledgeable of SQL, DAX, Pandas, Excel Functions comes in.

Simply put, Nigerian Data analysts are more of graphic designers while the white counterpart are much more than that: they are just like the scientists of the data itself. Your dashboards doesn't really tickle their fancy.

Follow them, you will understand that Data analysis has a long way to go in Nigeria.

Ps: I may be wrong, but that's my opinion.

Thanks for sharing.

Think of it like making Jollof

The data cleaning is like identifying the ingredients needed to make jollof

The SQL is to get the exact ingredients needed for the Jollof in the right quantity

The python programming, Excel manipulation, DAX in BI...are all the different methods used in prepping the Jollof to taste based on specific requirements

The dashboard is the final plate of Jollof with Chicken and Juice that is served on the table.

So, yeah, more emphasis is placed on the already prepared Jollof... but that doesn't sidestep the processes involved in turning raw foodstuff to edible Jollof.

I was almost salivating reading this cheesy

Thanks alot for the insight.

Hello everyone. I have some thoughts that have been bothering me.

This thread was the starting point for my Data Analysis journey and I've tried to follow the recommendations listed here. I've been learning Excel, Power BI, SQL, and Python. To be honest, I haven't been paying attention to creating dashboards. My main focus have learning how to manipulate formulas (especially DAX) and other technicalities involved. But recently, I joined some tech communities on Twitter and I see a lot of people creating beautiful dashboards. I hardly see anyone talk about about their SQL or Python projects.

I'm quite confused. Is there something I'm missing? (Note: I'm yet to successfully land a job)

Ennysho:

Good morning, Olarewajub.

I understand you’re looking for an undergraduate student writer to write articles on school hostel accommodation and Post UTME examinations.

I am confident that I’m the precise undergraduate for the job. I am a 300l student of the inimitable University of Lagos currently undergoing a course in Education in English and English Literature. Throughout my educational journey, I have been privileged to stay in four distinct hostel lodgings, all within the campus grounds as everything from a bona fide to a squatter, and once even a bona-squatter.

I have further been a candidate of the POST UTME examinations not once but twice. Hence, I am confident that I can bring my personal experiences to bear and truly educate, inform and entertain your readership.

I’m all geared up to start writing appealing, keyword-optimized knowledgeable articles for you based on my extensive experiences at the University of First Choice.

I’ll be awaiting a favourable response from you soonest. You can reach me on Whatsapp
08106237808

Cheers,

Virtue.

A two or three sentence pitch is okay. Typing this long note makes it look like you're trying so hard to sell yourself.

1) Did you apply as host community or Merit... I wanted to apply as Host community but I don't know how to get my Letter of identification from my Chairman, not even Local Government... I was able to get only State of Origin Certificate from Liason office here in Lagos.
1)Please Did you write the exam. How is it like.... From Jamb pass questions or it's an Aptitude test.

Please answer these questions.

I applied under merit awards. Your state of origin should suffice since it contains your LGA of origin. I suggest you use it as your last resort.

The exam was aptitude test.
