TMA IS OUT

MAKE SURE U ARE READY TO SUBMIT BEFORE U CAN CHECK URS

I think everybody has prepared fully for the TMA that just came out today! If you have not, you need to do that by buying your remaining course materials as from today and start reading for the task. TMA1 is out this Tuesday and it look like exams questions i.e you will only be able to see one question and you will click next before you will see another question. If you don't submit during the period given to you it will score you zero and if you fail to submit any TMA at all then you don't expect any result for that particular course.

Find attached the 2018_1 POP timetable.

note the following:

1. That the courses are arranged faculty-wise

2. That each faculty is allotted one week to commence and finish their exams

3. That scheduling of two or three courses for a day has become inevitable and hence should be adjusted to by mainly students with carryover in lower level courses

4. where there is a verifiable evidence that two or more courses clash at same time and day, kindly compile and forward to us.

5. All inputs, feedback and comments should reach the DEA via email on or before Friday June 8, 2018.

VITAL INFORMATION FOR ALL NOUN STUDENTS


TMA1 will be ready for students for a period between Tuesday 5th June to Tuesday 26th June 2018

It is an offence to circulate printed copies (ALSO SOFTCOPIES) of your personalised questions.

As you are aware, these assignments are designed to ensure you are making full use of your study materials.

Students will always find the tests quite helpful in making them understand the contents of these course materials. No extra time will be allocated to the period of submission of TMA1 which will be immediately followed by TMA2.

We wish you the best of luck as you embark on answering and submission of your TMAs!

TMA LATEST DEVELOPMENT

TMA 1
Opening date: 5th June, 2018
Closing date: 26th June, 2018
12 midnight

TMA 2
Opening date: 27th June, 2018
Closing date: 18th July, 2018

Closing date: 14th August, 2018

BOTTOMLINE:

1) Students can now only read and do their tmas, no printouts

2) Only a TMA will be available for a student at a time, following the timelines provided. This means that no TMA is open-ended.

*You must do your TMA within that period or risk a zero mark for that TMA*

3) You must attempt TMA and exams to receive an end of semester grade for every course registered. This is a standard rule for university.

4) Ideally, a student should pass both TMA and exams to receive a pass mark for the course. Therefore, students shoukd endeavour to do their TMA themselves as TMAs prepare students for their final examinations.

5) A student is expected to study the course materials, do TMAs and assignments in the course materials before attempting the online TMAs. Therefore, one (1) question will pop up at a time for student to attempt before the next question will pop-up. Where the student is not able to attempt for example, question 1, he/she could click *NEXT* to move to question 2 and so on.

6) There are three TMAs per each course registered by a student, a student is expected to attempt all. Each TMA has 10 test items(1-10)

While in the meeting yesterday, Dr Mrs.... Said we should come up with company names which the school will issue letters to concerning our visitation, or they *might* get the names for us, but its the responsibility of the class Governor(if he/she is available) to take it to the companies and get reply from them... She also said our visitation spending and expenses is up to us, the school is not involved..

From our discussion, she said *2 groups* will go together to one company... Which means *13+ 13= 26* to one company with one supervisor... She said those two groups together will be responsible for the transportation fee/ lunch (snacks and small drinks maybe)/ supervisor lunch too/ and a stipend for the supervisor *10k* I suggests... Since its coming from two groups...

Another Rep Daniel have been making calls since concerning the transportation because she said we are going to use a *coaster bus* this bus can convey *30* people at a time and since we are *27* we are good to go...
He have negotiated the price of one coaster bus already and we settled at *40k* for d snacks and drinks also *10k* can take care of that, and we might need small extra cash at hand because *Dr Mrs* will be taken care of cos she is in charge of our matter, thou she is not going out with any group...

After all statistics I think *65,000* will take care of the day. Meaning each student in the (2) groups that are going with a bus will pay 2,500.
I suggest you come with your money to the meeting next week and if you can't, you can chat Daniel (08066943033)up for his account no, and all payment must be done latest a week after the meeting because the company can confirm our coming any time, and we must do presentation before exam which will take place in late July...
Our future is in our hands now...

TMA UPDATE

We noticed a little hitch with the TMA administration which was also confirmed by students from some study centers. We are trying to ensure that all the issues raised are addressed in such a way that integrity is ensured. TMA timeline is been drawn as suggested by some faculties and other stakeholders and will be released before weekends. Students can then continue with their TMAs soon after that.

HOW TO ACCESS YOUR TMA

Step 1. Log in to www.nouonline.net

Step 2. Click *your courses* and then select *your courses*

Step 3. Under *semester* select *first semester 2018* irrespective of your current level or semester, because according to NOUN academic calendar, we are in second semester 2018.

Step 4. Still select *first semester 2018* then click *proceed...* wait for a moment to display.

Step 5. Click *view exams* to access *TMA*

Step 6. Click *take TMA*, any course that its TMA is available will display ...

TMA IS OUT

1. TMA is the acronym of Tutor Marked
Assignment.
2. It is the continuous assessment of Noun.
3. It carries 30 marks while exam carries 70
marks.
4. Before a course, GST101 for instance, has 4
tma. Namely, tma1, tma 2, tma 3 and tma 4.
But now it's just TMA 1-3
5. Before, each TMA has 20 questions (except for
Maths and other calculative courses (recent
changes) which have 10). But now Every TMA's
has 10 questions each.
6. It is done and submitted online.
7. Before, Whatever you score in a tma (tma 1 for
instance) will be divided by two, meaning the over
20 will eventually be over 10.
But now whatever you get over 10 is ur score no
more division
8. Before, your best 3 tma is what will be used for
your assessment.
But now it's just 3 TMAs and that's what will be
used
9. You cannot see your tma again once you
submit it.
10. If what happened last semester is to go by, it
then means that you can’t see tma 2 until you
submit Tma 1. In the same way, until you submit
tma 2, you cant see tma 3
11. A good tma score will go a long way in
boosting your result at the end of the day.
