A colleague who is a lawyer asked me whats my opinion regarding the agitation for biafra. My take. .

Biafra has always been a fight of selfish interests since after the civil war...even during the civil war, many parts of the so-called biafran states refused to fight...if only these boys jumping around with green n red flags witnessed the biafran war, or even asked their fathers the raw truth about the war (dat is if their fathers even fought during the war, cos many of them hid and ran with their mums) then they would have retraced their steps...cos same thing that repeated then, is currently repeating now. Then the states were divided, now the igbos are divided...aside from what u mentioned above, alot of igbos in government would never back the move cos they are comfortable, igbos with good flourishing business would never support war, igbos living comfortable from the fruits of their hard labour would never wish for they they suffered years in actualizing to be bombed to the ground....only those who are looking for opportunity to loot their fellow igbos and opportunity to fight and profit from the dividends of war and the jobless dat will carry this matter on the head like gala. During the biafran war, Ojukwu was smart to get away with it and ran to the neighbouring country on asylum...Nnamdi wasn't lucky enough, war never even start, him don land for net...getting out would never be easy. I would never wish for a repeat of the war that turned my father and his father into poor people...make una use una head for once. Even when GEJ was in seat, biafra was not a discussed issue, now that he is out, protests don start. Na wa oh...hapu nu buhari ka anyi hu ihe ochoro ime tupu akpogideya n'obe. Now is not then...he does not have full authority, but we do...pls lets not abuse freedom of speech nor abuse the freedom of movement nor the freedom.

the name “Biafra” or “Biafara” was picked again because
the former Premiere of Nigeria’s then Eastern region,
Odumegwu Ojukwu had chosen the “Biafra” name for the
territory he wished to preside over; however there is no
evidence that Ojukwu selected that name because he
believed it was the name of his ancestral home.
Rather it was the name of much of Cameroon, Equatorial
Guinea and São Tomé and Príncipe and perhaps a nice
name that tickled Ojukwu’s fancy. Or perhaps Ojukwu was
suggesting an ancestral origin outside Nigeria in the
Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon region.
In the image above, River Camarones can be noticed at the
left border of “Biafra.” This river, now called Wouri river is in
the middle of today’s Cameroon.
The Region Is Benin And Not Biafra
Calabar, Nigeria’s Eastern border is seen well within
territory called Benin; Benin, a large demarcated kingdom
that extends deep into today’s Cameroon, before the region
known as Biafra starts.
Based on these findings, “Benin” would serve as a more
accurate historical fact based sobriquet for the southern
parts of Nigeria in discussion.
Another map from 1644 also puts “Biafara” solidly in
Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and São Tomé and Príncipe
and far from Nigeria’s furthest Eastern border. Apparently
the prior name of the territory now called Biafra by this
group was recognized and mapped as “Benin,” and never
Biafra in all historic maps.

We all know one of the major debates in Nigeria now is the issue of biafra. Which some of our brothers and sisters from the eastern/southern part of the country are clamouring for, from the multiple protests and newspaper N social media activities we can all see that its not an issue that should be joked upon.

As a neutralist on his issue I'll like pro-biafra supporters to enlighthen me on what next for your new state if it is actualised?

Will it not be the same courrpt politicians we have in Nigeria ( eastern and southern parts) now that will still be contesting for Power in biafra.....?? If the state of biafra is realised is there any actually plan on ground to ensure it does not become NIGERIA version 2.0.
Will tribal bigotry be eradicated ( Since allegedly most igbo people from different part of the East to get Along with each other well as well as with their southern neighbours)..?! Will the issue of Marginalisation die with the birth of biafra ( Can the East N South live together as one)?!.And many other Questions..........

The policemen or soldiers who release those live bullets you talk about, are there not lots of Igbos/Biafrans within their ranks?... For you to believe that farce, are you suggesting that the Igbo police officers for example are well behaved unlike the officers from other tribes?....

Why on earth have you allowed yourself to be deceived that the moment we change our name to Biafra, the trigger happy Igbo men we have in the police, army, etc will automatically turn to saints?.... If you have suggestions on what we can do to make our police force more humane when/if we get Biafra, why cant those suggestions be made now to tame the men in the security outfits presently stationed in the SE?

Same goes for Igbo leaders, if you agree with me that Igbo leaders are the biggest problem of Igbos, and you also believe that if we get Biafra, we can install more reasonable leaders, why cant those proposed strategies be used this day to enthrone better Igbo leaders even before we step out into Biafra?

Brother, I like ur reasoning here. But u equally did not realised that the Igbos also had the presidency in this 16 years because GEJ whom they claimed is a Biafran was a President for 6 years. They called GEJ their own. They renamed GEJ's name from Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to Goodluck "Ebere" Jonathan.
