A community in Adikpo town, Kwande Local Government area of Benue state, was thrown into mourning after a thunderstorm unleashed its fury during yesterday’s rainfall on August 29, 2023.

It was gathered that the aftermath of the tragic storm claimed the lives of both a father and his child.

The victim, identified as Mr. Awee Shewe was playing with his child while the mother prepared the evening meal for the family when the incident tragically happened.

In an instant, the thunderstorm struck during the rainfall, proving fatal for both father and child, a source told Trendygists, adding that the thunderstorm’s unexpected and devastating impact took place at the very location where Mr. Awee Shewe and his child were sitting.

The sad incident was also confirmed by the deceased neighbor on his social media page. He wrote on Facebook

“Death occurred of my neighbor just now ( Mr Awee shewe) during the rain by thunder strike killing him along side his baby in his arms while the mother of the baby was preparing akamu for the child in adikpo town kwande LG of benue state.”
