Your comment reminds me of something I read on an editorial sometimes back... Is it true that BH is trying to reestablish the old kanem Bornu empirehuh
They want to establish a caliphate but their real intentions is to scare Chinnese oil firms drilling in North Cameroun, Chad and Niger

Their main task is opposite what ISIS is doing in Syria and Iraq.

ISIS in Syria are there to remove the Russian backed Asaad regime in order to pave way for an oil pipeline from the Gulf states through Syria onwards to Europe via Turkey to check Russians dominance in European gas supplies through Ukraine.

Bokos are there to prevent the construction of a Chinese gas pipeline from the Chad basin down to the southern coast.

I just wonder the kind amala dey are eating in the sw.

How can the ND be worse off than the SW states?

The tax burden will have to go up to meet the downfall and this may result to companies shutting down or relocating to less taxed states in the ND especially does in the oil and gas sector.

Even if the crude crash to a dollar, all the ND states will receive more than Osun.
asorocker:
The case of Osun and their comical character governor is just a story that should be turned into children's movies and story for children's literature like the story of Ali baba and the 40 thieves, the thief of Bhagadad and the great bank robbery , osun state will surely earn the copy right and revenue from such artistic works.

The story of how a state whose acclaimed GDP and yearly budget made states in the eastern states green with envy cannot eve pay its electricity bills. The state should eventually be degraded to a senatorial zone and be merged or amalgamated to another neighboring state like Oyo.

Titles of the would be film could be the thief of Osun , the great state robbery etc

What's the overriding strategic interest in Bight of Biafra?
A naval and air base which is strategically located to access much of West, central and north Africa.

Congo and Angola especially where they hope to check Chinese inroads in Africa.

But most importantly to have access to the biggest and proven oil reserves offshore in the Bight.

You think oil prices are crashing due to natural demand and supply rules? The US and Saudi are manipulating the market in order to crash Russian and Iranian economy.

Aregberascal and Osun nko that depend on oil receipts from the FG nko?
asorocker:
I think Igbos will take a hit from the oil price decline but not much compared to other people in the South like the Niger delta whose budget will fall below redemption as only 830B will be available for budget however i think only N211B will be available for 13% derivation sharing for all the Niger delta stat Can someone confirm.
But on a more serious note , the fall in oil price might really hit yoruba companies below the belt like mad , i see a huge drop in the finances of yoruba owned companies and the corresponding yoruba banks handling their finances like GTB , first bank , skye bank and sterling bank which is already looking for a merging partner to escape the regulators prying eyes, Wema bank is already gone with the wind of oil price fall.

some of the companies already taking the hit include Oando that made a record loss of N140b for the last business year i dont really see how Oando might recover and become more profitable even if buhari gives Tinubu more oil wells , where will he sell the oil wells .

Conoil is virtually written off just waiting for the banks to come with underwriters and debt recovery experts as their revenue has dropped drastically for the second year running triggering a pull out by shareholders from the company stocks Adenuga just relinquished control over his bank to sterling bank which i heard was looking for a merging partner last week in Victoria Island or an outright buy off.

AP made a smart move by investing in power but for how long will the stay afloat since GEJ is no longer there to be influenced by obasanjo to bend the rules for them moreover as power stabilizes nobody will require their diesel anymore .
Folwaiyo group which has received the hammer of DPR with capital oil over subsidy issues is already gone as the subsidy money which they all struggled over is gone i do not foresee future for the energy arm of the group.

Also oil price drops further to the $20 mark more Nigerian Billionaires who made fortune from oil like Mike Adenuga , Mrs Alakija and Otedola will be welcome back to the thousandnaires club which they belonged prior to 1999 , Nigerians should expect sell of private yatches , private jets and estates belonging to these people as the cut their expenditure to size.

Jimoh Ibrahim's case is just a case for another day as the Nairaland servers will not contain the number of pages of analysis of his fall from the billionaire cadre and the ruining of Air Nigeria, Nicon and his oil company.

Let me guess. So they can take control of our oil right? Something they themselves now export so as to crash the price making oil irrelevant!
No. So that they can finally get their AFRICOM base in the Bight of Biafra

you have a point there bro, just that APC set a bad precedence when they were in opposition.
We should not be like them.

Let's hope for the best because if boko capture Maiduguri their sleeper cells in the north will spring up to overwhelm the security forces in cities across Nigeria thereby hindering any chance of a counter offensive to retake Maiduguri

seunmsg:
The budget at present is a proposal made by the executive arm of government. It is still subject to final appropriation and approval by the national assembly. Once the process is completed and the appropriation bill is signed into law, the full details will be published by the budget office. Except the national assembly decides to release the 2016 budget proposal to the public, you may not get it on the website of budget office because it is not a law yet. It is still subject to amendment by the National assembly. Releasing it now will be pre-emptive and misleading as the final approved bill may differ significantly.
Budget hearings are a public affair.

Nobody should celebrate this news rather we should pray for our troops but condemn liar mohammed's attempt at lying on the war.

Now is the time for the FG to come clean.

If they need a draft to fight the insurgency let them call for one.

The army even though not on my good books must not fail because a defeat in the NE will spell doom for every region.
PoliticsRe: Army Currently Repelling Attack By Boko Haram Insurgents In Maiduguri by APCLyingBastard: 7:21pm On Dec 27, 2015
If Maiduguri falls so will the entire NE.

This is terrible to say the least.

The army must not fail or else ISIS will have a territory in Nigeria and a corridor via Niger waste lands to Libya.

The thought of lice ridden jihadists from Egypt and Libya joining them will only make the situation worse and hard to dislodge the group in an urban environment with a sizeable civilian shield.

PoliticsRe: Crude Oil Imminent Fall The End Of Biafra Agitation by APCLyingBastard: 7:00pm On Dec 27, 2015
Low oil price will not get the US to side with Nigeria.

Oil slump will greatly affect the socioeconomic stability of Nigeria especially the north

An economic meltdown down will affect Nigeria's ability to fight on two fronts and will greatly degrade the military's capability and morale.

Think. It is far worse for a mono economy like Nigeria than for the Biafrans who can easily get Russia and China's backing.

It is not the prerogative of the House to make public a budget breakdown from the presidency.

Their only job is to scrutinise it and finally pass it.

Budget drafting and passage are not a secret affair.

The onus lies on th apc govt to release the details and breakdown of the 2016 budget to dispel any rumours.
