Food8 Most Expensive Meal That Will Shock You by apeiron24(op): 7:46pm On Mar 18, 2017
I was just surfing the net when i came across the following insane meal..... after reading, i said to my self, let me inform nairalanders for their opinions....

I present to you 8 most expensive meal that will shock you

1. Taco ($25,000)
One Mexican hotel has given the humble taco a top dollar makeover.

A taco at Grand Velas Los Cabos' comes stuffed with Kobe beef, caviar, gold leaf, chunks of lobster, and black, truffle-infused brie cheese. A salsa infused with tequila and civet coffee (crafted from partly digested coffee cherries eaten by wild civet cats) is added to the mix, bringing the price tag up to $25,000.

Chef Juan Licerio Alcala masterminded the lavish meal, which is currently being served up at the hotel's Frida restaurant. (Source)

2. Sushi ($1,978)
A Filipino chef, Angelito Araneta Jr., took sushi to another level with this five-piece specialty nigiri roll. It starts with premium pink salmon from Norway and Foie gras. Next, instead of wrapping the fish in seaweed, Araneta uses edible 24-karat gold leaf. He then puts three Palawan pearls on each piece, in addition to 20-carats of African diamonds. Add all those ingredients up, and you've got the most expensive sushi in the world. (Source)

3. Hamburger ($5000)
The FleurBurger 5000 (the "5000" in the name refers to the dollar amount) is featured at Fleur, Chef Hubert Keller's restaurant at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

To build the costly gastronomic delight, Keller sears a Wagyu beef patty (pricey in itself, at $100 a pound) and douses it over and over again with butter, sealing in the flavor. He then slices and sears a few slabs of prime Foie gras ($45 a pound), and combines the duck fat with more butter to sautée a mound of sliced black truffles ($1,500 a pound). After that, Keller carefully layers the ingredients onto a freshly baked brioche bun.

Still, that doesn't quite add up to $5k. The main reason for the burger's price is poured rather than cooked—a bottle of 1995 Petrus (which sells for more than $5,000 on its own) comes with the burger as the perfect pairing. So far, Keller has sold 28! (Source)

4. Ramen ($180)
Koa, a Japanese restaurant in Manhattan, is now serving gold-flecked ramen, and claims it's the world's "most expensive."

Customers with cash to splash can expect a rich assortment of ingredients to accompany their noodles—gold flakes, Wagyu beef and shaved truffle, to name a few. You can also take home a souvenir from the experience—€”your very own set of chopsticks. (Source)

5. Hot Dog ($169)
Would you believe this $169 hot dog is not found at a brick and mortar restaurant, but a food truck? Seattle, Washington's Tokyo Dog specializes in “Japanese style" hot dogs, and while most of their menu is made ready to order, the Juuni Ban hot dog has to be requested two weeks in advance.

The dog features nothing but gourmet ingredients. It is served on a brioche bun and comes loaded with smoked cheese bratwurst, Wagyu beef, Foie gras, shaved black truffle, and caviar. It is pricey, but you won't be throwing your money away—all of the proceeds from the Juuni Ban go to the American Red Cross. (Source)

6. Dessert ($25,000)
The Frrrozen Haute Chocolate dessert from Manhattan's Serendipity 3 is served in a Baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet (with an 18 karat gold and white diamond bracelet attached to the neck) and is further laced with 23 karats of edible gold. The recipe for the dish itself contains 14 rare and secret cocoas from Africa and South America, milk, ice cubes, whipped cream, and shavings from the La Madeline au Truffle ($2,500 a pound). Five more grams of 24 karats of edible gold are sprinkled on top, and this rich dessert is served with a £8,800 ($14,000) jewel-encrusted spoon. (The bracelet and the spoon are yours to keep after this haughty indulgence is complete.) (Source)

7. Omelette ($1000)
Big spenders in Manhattan, take note—the Zillion Dollar Frittata, a Spanish omelette with lobster and 10oz (280g) of caviar, is on the menu at Norma's in Le Parker Meridien.

The restaurant has a bell which is rung whenever a customer orders the 3,000-calorie dish, which contains six eggs, the meat of a whole lobster, and a whopping 10 ounces of Sevruga caviar. Bring it down to one ounce, and the omelette becomes more of a bargain at $100.

8. Pizza ($12,000)
You'd think for $12,000 you would at least get a large pizza—but no, at 8-inches, the Louis XIII is more of a personal dish.

Chef Renato Viola brings his pizza-making team to the customer's home and prepares the dish for 72 hours. Its dough comes from certified organic flour and goes through long direct proofing before Australian pink salt, Buffalo mozzarella, four types of caviar (Oscietra, Royal, Classic, & Beluga), red prawns, Palinurus elephas (spiny lobster), and Squilla mantis (shrimps) are added. Louis XIII cognac of Remy Martin and Krug Clos Du Mesnil champagne round out this pricey gastronomical feast

Guys.... what do you think?

CareerHow To Write A CV 'curriculum Vitae' | Format | Example by apeiron24(op): 5:31pm On Mar 02, 2017
When applying for certain positions in the US, as well as jobs internationally, you may be required to submit a curriculum vitae rather than a resume. A curriculum vitae, or CV, includes more information than your typical resume, including details of your education and academic achievements, research, publications, awards, affiliations, and more.

What to Include in a Curriculum Vitae
A curriculum vitae, commonly referred to as CV, is a longer (two or more pages), more detailed synopsis than a resume. Your CV should be clear, concise, complete, and up-to-date with current employment and educational information.

The following are examples of information that can be included in your curriculum vitae. The elements that you include will depend on what you are applying for, so be sure to incorporate the most relevant information to support your candidacy in your CV.

* Personal details and contact information. Most CVs start with contact information and personal data but take care to avoid superfluous details, such as religious affiliation, children's names and so on.
Education and qualifications. Take care to include the names of institutions and dates attended in reverse order; PhD, Masters, Undergraduate.

* Work experience/employment history. The most widely accepted style of employment record is the chronological curriculum vitae. Your career history is presented in reverse date order starting with most recent. Achievements and responsibilities are listed for each role. More emphasis/information should be put on more recent jobs.

* Skills. Include computer skills, foreign language skills, and any other recent training that is relevant to the role applied for.
Brief biography
Scholarships
Training
Study abroad
Dissertations
Theses
Bibliography
Research experience
Graduate fieldwork
Teaching experience
Publications
Presentations and lectures
Exhibitions
Awards and honors
Grants, fellowships, and assistantships
Technical, computer, and language skills
Professional licenses and certifications
Memberships
Hobbies and Interests

What Not to Include
There is no need to include your photo, your salary history, the reason you left your previous position, or references in your CV. References should be listed separately and given to employers upon request.

How Long Should a CV Be?
A good curriculum vitae should ideally cover no more than two pages and never more than three. Aim to ensure the content is clear, structured, concise and relevant. Using bullet points rather than full sentences can help minimize word usage.

Curriculum Vitae Writing Tips
Have Several Versions of Your CV
Don't just write one CV and use it for every position you apply for. Have targeted and focused versions of your curriculum vitae and use them accordingly.

Keep It Short
If possible, try to keep your CV short and concise. Include summaries of your employment and education, rather than lots of details. Use formal (no slang or abbreviations) and well-written language, writing simply and clearly.

Tell the Truth
It can be tempting to over-polish a CV and make our educational qualifications or work history sound a little better than they really are. If you're tempted to stretch the truth about your work history - don't. It will come back to haunt you.

Most employers conduct reference and background checks and if your curriculum vitae doesn't match your actual work history or education, you will most likely get caught at some point and you will either not get the job or will get fired if you have already been hired.

Check the Format
Look at the format of your curriculum vitae, and again, ask someone else to take a look. Is there plenty of white space? Is it cluttered?

Is your formatting consistent (bold, italic, spacing, etc.) and is the overall picture that your CV provides a professional and polished one?

Proof Your Curriculum Vitae
Double-check your curriculum vitae for typos and grammatical errors. Then ask someone else to review it for you - it's often hard to catch our own mistakes.

I Hope this helps many people out there.... Good Luck

Career13 Ways To Improve Your Life by apeiron24(op): 6:08pm On Feb 22, 2017
We can all go from wherever we are to wherever we want to be. You’ve just got to fight for it.
Jim Rohn

How dramatically we can change our results is largely a function of imagination.

In 1960, it was a technological impossibility for man to travel into outer space. However, within 10 years, the first man stepped out onto the surface of the moon. The miraculous process of converting that dream into reality began when one voice challenged the scientific community to do whatever was necessary to see to it that America "places a man on the moon by the end of this decade." That challenge awakened the spirit of a nation by planting the seed of possible future achievement into the fertile soil of imagination.

With that one bold challenge, the impossible became a reality.

The same principle applies to every other area of our life.

Can a poor person become wealthy? Of course! The unique combination of desire, planning, effort and perseverance will always work its magic. The question is not whether the formula for success will work, but rather whether the person will work the formula. That is the unknown variable. That is the challenge that confronts us all.

We can all go from wherever we are to wherever we want to be. No dream is impossible provided we first have the courage to believe in it.

Here is how you can do that—13 ways to improve your life:

1. Face your fears.
That's how you conquer them. Don't dismiss them; face them. Say, Here's what I'm afraid of. I wonder what I could do to change that. Face your fears today.

2. Exercise your willpower to change direction.
You don't have to keep doing what you've been doing the last six years if it's not yielding the benefits you want. Pick a new destination and go that way. Use your willpower to start the process. You don't have to repeat last year. Clean up the errors. Invest it now in the next year. Watch it make the difference.

3. Admit your mistakes.
Sometimes you have to admit them to others. Here's one of the best phrases in the English language: "I'm sorry." Those words could start a whole new relationship. They could start two people going in a whole new direction. Admit your mistakes to yourself. You don't have to babble about them to everyone in the neighborhood. But it doesn't hurt you to sit down and have a conversation with yourself and say, There's no use kidding myself. Here's where I really am. I've got pennies in my pocket and I've got nothing in the bank. That's what I said after a Girl Scout left my door. I had a conversation with myself and I said, I don't want this to happen anymore.

4. Refine your goals.
Start the process. Set some higher goals. Reach for some higher purpose. Go for something beyond what you thought you could do.

5. Believe in yourself.
You've got to believe in the possibilities. You've got to believe that tomorrow can be better than today. Believe in yourself. There isn't a skill you can't learn; there isn't a discipline you can't try; there isn't a class you can't take; there isn't a book you couldn't read.

6. Ask for wisdom.
Ask for wisdom that creates answers. Ask for wisdom to deal with the challenges for today and tomorrow. Don't wish it was easier; wish you were better.

7. Conserve your time.
Sometimes we get faked out. Motivational speaker Bill Bailey says the average person says, "I've got 20 more years." But Bill says you've got 20 more times. If you go fishing once a year, you've only got 20 more times to go fishing, not 20 years. That fakes you out.

8. Invest your profits.
Here's one of the philosophies that my mentor, Earl Shoaff, gave me: Profits are better than wages. Wages make you a living, profits make you a fortune. Could we start earning profits while we make a living? The answer is yes.

9. Live with intensity
You might as well turn it up a notch or two. Invest more of you in whatever you do. Be a little stronger; be a little wiser. Step up your vitality contribution. Put everything you've got into everything you do and then ask for more vitality, more strength and more vigor, more heart and more soul.

10. Find your place.
If you just work at a job, find the best place you can serve well, and sure enough they'll ask you to occupy a better place. Keep doing a job well; do the very best you can. That's your best way out.

11. Demand integrity from yourself.
Integrity is like loyalty. You can't demand it of someone else; you can only demand it of yourself. Be the best example of loyalty and you'll get loyal followers. Be the best example of integrity and you'll have people around you who have integrity. Lead the way.

12. Welcome the disciplines.
I can't give you much better advice than that because disciplines create reality. Disciplines build cities. A well-disciplined activity creates abundance, uniqueness and productivity.

13. Fight for what's right.
It’s extraordinary to be able to say: “I fought for my kids; I fought for what was right; I fought for good health; I fought to protect my company; I fought for a good career that would bless my family. I fought a good fight.” It's good to fight the encroachment. Opposites are in conflict and you're in the middle. If you want something valuable, you've got to fight for it.

Education3 Reasons We Have Not Started Selling Forms - JAMB Registrar by apeiron24(op): 12:32pm On Feb 18, 2017
The JAMB registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede himself explained the reason for the delay which is very unlike that of previous years.

He gave the following reasons:

1. Scratch cards

The registrar explained that one reason for the delay was due to issues the board had with sale of scratch cards.

He said that whereas candidates used to buy scratch cards to access the forms online previously, they planned to cancel that since it had been abused thoroughly.

According to Daily Trust, he said: “What we want to do is for students to pay directly to government coffers and we are working out the process of doing so to avoid the type of abuse that it has been subjected to.

“So, we want to sell directly and to make sure that candidates pay into TSA account. We have cases of students saying their scratch cards got burnt, others saying their scratch cards were swallowed by snakes or lost in an accident.

“I believe my predecessor did his best. Shortly before I came, he dismissed 12 staff on issues relating to the sale of scratch cards or e-facility cards as we called it. I need to build on it by cancelling the whole process."

2. Timetable

The second reason given was the clash of timetables for which JAMB had met other exam bodies.

Prof Oloyede said: “Another reason is that we do not want our students to suffer as a result of clash in timetable. Students have to take NECO, WAEC and NABTEB exams.

"That is why we held meetings with examination bodies and agreed to realign our timetable. There is no time yet for the sale of forms."

3. Fraudsters

The last reason as given by the board, is the proliferation of fraudsters. Prof said: "Fraudsters thought we are going to sell scratch cards and they have started selling fake forms and we are now arresting them. We have to thank the security agencies, particularly the NSCDC.

"Between August last year and now, not less than four people have been convicted by courts and have been sentenced either as students or as fake business men. So that is the kind of signal we want to send.”

NYSCNYSC Wasting Our Youth by apeiron24(op): 8:06am On Feb 14, 2017
Nigeria is persistently unfair to its young people. While my generation can reel off countless things we enjoyed during our school days and when we entered the labour market, today’s young people have nothing but lamentations whether they look back or project forward. Having survived the lion’s den that our mismanaged educational institutions have become, they graduate and roam about because the authorities have not made adequate preparations to enable them proceed on National Service on schedule.

Now, our young graduates finish school and wait for many months for the

National Youth Service Corps to log them into a batch to serve their fatherland. You hear tags like Batch A, Stream B…. It is such a bleeding shame. National service used to be automatic. As soon as you finished your final papers, well before convocation, the list of eligible corpers would be out and you simply made arrangements to proceed to your designated orientation camp.

Today, because of pervasive corruption in the land, we simply stopped planning. It does not take rocket science to calculate how many graduates we would be producing over a ten-year period. We knew that the facilities needed to be expanded to cope with the rising number of graduates. But what did we do? Nothing. We simply waited for the problem to overwhelm us and then we transferred the agony to the fresh graduates who are now trapped in limbo as they are no longer students and at the same time are not eligible for employment because the NYSC scheme is mandatory.

This nonsense must stop now. We have dehumanised the younger generation enough. During our own university days, our facilities were in top shape; we enjoyed bursaries from state governments; we had subsidised meals (Breakfast - 10 kobo; Lunch - 20 kobo; Supper - 20 kobo). With 15 Naira, you were sure of feeding for one month. When the military later increased feeding to 75 kobo per day (a 50% increase) Nigerian students hit the streets in massive protests. The cafeterias have since disappeared and most of the other facilities that made our student days relatively blissful have since fallen into disrepair.

Nigeria is cheating its younger generation. We are breeding a generation that doesn’t have many good things to say about the land of their birth.

That is why they laugh in our faces when we preach patriotism to them. Patriotism - what is the spelling? What kind of animal is so called? Can a person perpetually brutalised by his country be expected to be ‘patriotic’, more so when he is daily confronted with news of billions of local and foreign currencies stolen by government officials - money that could have transformed the educational sector?

In many cases, university calendars have been rubbished by labour strikes.

Many of our graduates spend two or three extra sessions than they originally planned. Then, they graduate and have to stay at home because their country is not yet ready to enrol them into the national service scheme. If this isn’t a scandal then I truly don’t know what it is.

The situation is made more scandalous by the fact that the National

Assembly has always looked the other way while the younger generation is dealt a raw deal. Why has the legislature not intervened by tweaking the

NYSC Act to allow excess graduates to be given exemption certificates? If the system can only accommodate 50% of the graduates we produce annually,

GIVE THE OTHERS CERTIFICATES OF EXEMPTION so that they can get on with their lives! It isn’t as if there are jobs waiting for them, but at least the system ought not to be an obstacle to their progress in life.

HOW TIMES CHANGE!

Talking about how we have lost our compass and our family values as a nation, sample this reminiscence from renowned economist, Professor Sam Aluko, on corruption and national development at the 2008 Bala Usman memorial lecture at the Centre for Democratic Development, Research and Training (CEDDERT) Zaria:

“Shortly after I returned from Britain in 1959, with a PhD in Economics, I went home to visit my parents. My wife and I were driven to the village in our new car which we purchased with money provided by the Nigerian College of Arts, Science and Technology, Ibadan, which was then my employer.

“After being well received by my family and the entire village community and we retired into our bedroom, my father and my mother came quietly into the room, called me and inquired very calmly but firmly how, so soon after my arrival from England, I was able to possess a car.

“They were worried that I should not soil the family by possessing a vehicle beyond my financial capacity. When I told them that it was the Federal Government that bought the car for me, to repay the cost over time, and that even my wife was also entitled to a similar facility so that we could have two cars if we so desired, but for modesty we decided to have one, they were greatly relieved.

“They didn’t want any corruption allegations against me and against the family that gave me birth. And it was one of the smallest cars of that era.

Now, in the same village, some of my family members pooh-pooh me for coming to the village in a Peugeot station wagon car when even junior public officers and minor political office holders ride the latest Jeeps, Mercedes Benz and other cars out of the ordinary.

“Few Nigerians today, bother about the source of wealth or affluence of fellow Nigerians. The honored and the honorable are those with money and property. Honesty is no longer the best policy.”

NYSCShun Nepotism, Corruption, Obaseki Tells NYSC Members by apeiron24(op): 7:16am On Feb 14, 2017
Obaseki gave the advice in Benin, at the closing ceremony of the 2017 NYSC Batch “B” Stream II orientation course.

The governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Mr Philip Shuaibu, charged the corps members to be hardworking, dedicated, patriotic and committed in improving the lives of people they come across.

He urged them to integrate themselves with the people in the rural areas and respect the culture of their host communities.
Obaseki said Edo people are hospitable and very accommodating, assuring the corps members that they would enjoy their stay in the state.

The governor urged them to contribute their quota through Community Development Services (CDS), which at the end of their service year could qualify them for state honours.

He appealed to employees not to turn down corps members posted to serve with them.

The State Coordinator of NYSC, Mr Abdulahi Yusuf, while presenting the 2230 members, said 75 per cent of them had been posted to various educational institutions.

He said that others, such as doctors, paramedics and lawyers, were posted to rural areas.

Yusuf urged the corps members to be good ambassadors of the scheme in their places of primary assignment.

Health10 Habits That Can Ruin Your Health by apeiron24(op): 1:23am On Jan 29, 2017
There are things we all do that secretly ruin our health. Our bodies are a work in progress, and if we want to live healthier and happier lives, we need to do more than just adopt a few good habits. Besides practicing physical activities regularly and removing junk foods from our menus, we need to pay attention to some of our bad habits and minor mistakes that can ruin our health. Here is a list of 10 bad habits to break -

1. Poor posture: Even a perfect body can look slouchy when posture is bad. A poor back posture can accentuate the spinal curvature causing spine deformities. An altered spine structure affects the body’s stability and balance, reduces the back’s flexibility and increases the risk of muscle imbalances.

2. Poor position of the hand while working on the computer: While we’re well aware that spending too much time in front of the computer is not healthy for our eyes, we tend to neglect the other harmful effects. Pain and numbness of hands and fingers is a common symptom among people working on the computer for long hours. This increases the risk of developing carpal tunnel syndrome. This syndrome manifests through numbness, tingling and pain in the hand, a sensation of discomfort that travels up the arm toward the shoulder and an electric shock-like feeling in the fingers. Although these manifestations aren’t threatening, they can affect one’s precision when performing delicate motions, such as writing, buttoning the shirt or holding the phone.

3. Excessive snacking on junk: Losing touch with your body's natural hunger and satisfaction signals can lead to chronic overeating and unhealthy extra weight that can lead to diabetes, heart disease, and other serious conditions. If you snack on too much junk food, you are also flooding your body with unhealthy ingredients. By paying attention to your hunger signals and switching to healthy snacks, you can boost nutrition, control cravings, lose weight and avoid energy slumps.

4. Stress: An unhappy lifestyle releases stress hormones that increase your blood pressure and blood sugar, lower immunity, slow digestion and make you overweight. Modern life can lead to chronic stress and to far-reaching impacts on health such as sleep problems, change in sex drive and irritability and anger. If you have stress symptoms, taking steps to manage your stress can have numerous health benefits. Explore stress management strategies, such as regular physical activity, relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, yoga. Keep a sense of humor, socialize with family and friends and set aside time for hobbies, such as reading a book or listening to music.

5. Drinking too much alcohol: Alcohol consumption causes physical and emotional changes that can do great harm to your body. The long-term effects of alcohol abuse are many, putting your health in serious jeopardy and endangering your life. It's no secret that alcohol consumption can cause major health problems, including cirrhosis of the liver and injuries sustained in automobile accidents. Besides this excessive alcohol consumption is also linked to heart disease, depression, gout, cancer and nerve damage.

6. Smoking: Smoking causes 30 percent of heart disease deaths, 30 percent of cancer deaths, and a massive 80 to 90 percent of all lung cancers while increasing the risk of developing mouth, throat, and, bladder cancer. Once you quit, the health benefits are almost immediate, because your lungs and cardiovascular system begin repairing themselves within minutes of your last cigarette. Within a month, your lungs will work better and you should be coughing less, feel more energetic, and have less shortness of breath. Quitting smoking significantly reduces threat of cancer or heart disease, improves your sense of taste and smell, and gives you better endurance.

7. Overusing pain killers and sedatives: When painkillers and sedatives are not taken properly, long-term habitual use can cause more problems than it solves. Using drugs like ibuprofen or aspirin for arthritis or muscle pain can over time increase the risk for ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, high blood pressure and heart attacks. Calming drugs and sleeping pills can leave you feeling confused and prone to stumbling and falling if you take them in higher-than-prescribed doses. Since such medication makes you feel good, you may want to keep on taking them, turning them into a habit or addiction before you know it. Hence, only take medications prescribed by your treating physician and do not self-medicate.

8. Skipping breakfast: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day as it gives you the boost to take on your day. The side effects of not eating breakfast negatively impact weight, hormonal health, memory, cognition and mood. When you skip meals, your metabolism begins to slow which can lead to weight gain and sluggishness.

9. Poor quality of sleep:
Constantly skipping rest hours leads to fatigue and lack of focus, short temper and a higher risk of depression. Poor quality of sleep can interfere with the immune function, disrupting the body’s ability to fight pathogens, can lead to high blood pressure and cause excessive production of cortisol, which increases stress and favors weight gain.

10. Not drinking enough water: If we constantly keep our bodies in a state of dehydration by not drinking enough water it can have a major impact on our overall health. Not only it causes fatigue, dry skin, irritation, affects our ability to focus and our productivity, but the lack of water can also alter the functioning of kidneys and lead to an impaired immune function due to the accumulation of toxins.
RomanceThe Right Way To Sit At Your Desk, According To Science (INSTRUCTIONAL) by apeiron24(op): 1:11am On Jan 29, 2017
If you work on a computer all day, there are a few things you can do to mitigate the effect of a position that is not normally very good for strong posture.

You really want to do this, because according to Steven Weiniger, author of Stand Taller, Live Longer: An Anti-Aging Strategy, the health risks are great.

"Studies have shown that people with weak posture are more likely to have incidents of cardiovascular and pulmonary issues," he says. Part of the issue is that "when your head is pulled forward, your torso is rolling forward and your chest caves in.... You can't take a deep breath."

In fact, a study of women found that those whose heads were pushed forward (instead of correctly aligned over their torsos) were 1.4-times more likely to die than those with strong posture.

This is probably because the heart is pumping harder to get blood out of a collapsed chest, Weiniger says. Remember that heart disease is the No. 1 killer in the United States alone.

So the risks are great, and so are the rewards. Here are a few tips to help you improve and maintain good posture at work:

1. Position your monitor correctly
Keep it higher than "normal." This angle compels you to sit up tall in order to see the screen. This is a quick win that actually does impact the position of your neck in a positive way.

2. Avoid reaching or leaning forward
If there's one cardinal rule of desk posture, it's to never reach or lean forward. For every inch your head tilts forward, your spine takes on the equivalent of an extra 10 pounds. This strains your muscles in a big way and can lead to headaches, back pain, and more.

If you use a mouse, bring it towards you so you never have to strain forward to use it. Same goes for your laptop.

3. Keep both feet on the ground
Sitting at our desks, most of us spend a lot of our time with our feet crossed without even realizing it. This leaves you misaligned, and can (again) strain your neck and back. Switch to both feet down for proper placement.

4. Take frequent standing breaks
Even if you have excellent posture while sitting in the most ergonomic chair ever, your body simply wasn't made to be sedentary. Get up, stretch, walk around, go up and down the stairs--do whatever you can to keep moving for as much of the day as possible.

5. Consider a wearable
Because good posture is so critical to your overall health and well-being, it makes sense to do whatever you can to support it.

Consider wearable technology like posture vests to give you a boost. They gently pull your shoulders back, aligning your spine, and because they can go under clothes, you can have them on all day without anyone noticing.

The Royal Posture Copper vest costs only around $15 and even comes with copper-infused dots at key focal points to relax muscles, easing aches and pains as you go along (instead of letting them build up).

Also consider Lumo Lift, a small device that attaches to your shirt with a magnet. When you slouch, it vibrates, alerting you to adjust your posture. This is particularly helpful if you tend to get caught up with work and forget to sit up straight.

6. Sleep in the right position
While not technically something you can do at your desk (unless your boss is extremely cool), how you sleep affects your waking posture, so you want to practice correct alignment here, too.

A firmer mattress is better for back support, and the ideal position is sleeping on either your back, because it helps keep your shoulders straight, or your side. If you do sleep on your side, place a small pillow between your knees to properly align your spine.

The worst sleep position is on your stomach. If this is you, try hard to graduate to at least sleeping on your side.

If at first these kinds of corrections feel uncomfortable, just do them for a few minutes at a time while your body adjusts. When it comes to your posture, little changes make a big difference.

And keep your eyes on the prize: setting yourself up for a healthy, long-lasting spine, nervous system, brain, and life.

8TH JUNE, 1972

Dear Titi,

Time and ability plus double capacity has forced my pen to dance automatically on this benedicted sheet of paper. I hope you're swimming in the wonderful pool of Mr. Health there. I am also palambulating in the cool breeze of wellness here.

Sweetie pie, the reason why this miraculous thing is happening is because, honey, I love you spontaneously, and as I stand horizontally parallel to the wall and vertically perpendicular to the ground now, I only think of you, since you are a fantastic and fabulous girl put together as fantabulous. I implore you to decipher this my anthem of love oozing out from the innermost pendulum of my thoraxial cavity.

Darling, please stop haranguing with the feelings in my heart because I love you more than a snake loves rat.

To me each day I start by dreaming of you. Each time I see you my metabolism suddenly halts and my peristalsis goes in reverse gear. My medula oblangata also ceases functioning.

Crazy, crazy, crazy you may say but this is verily veritable. If only you knew what is going on in my encephalon you would prostrate. That's why I need to see you vis a vis soon for a better elucidation through tete a tete. No hyperbole & onomatopoeia, simple candidness.

Only u and me are protagonists in this subtle affair. As I cogitate and ruminate over the last episode, I genuflex before the Omnipotent and implore him to let this affair emulsify.

By the way, I was bamboozled, scintilated, exhilarated, and left in a state of prolonged euphoria by the contents of your missive which was quite edifying and exhalting. It left my bio-chemistry in a paradise-like equilibrium.

Empirically speaking, I love u chemically... I don't ever want to see gloom and doom looming over your angelic live portrait. Let my appellation be scribbled across your heart, with indelible ink. If any boy tries to ask for your companionship, tell him that u are leased and caveated.

I think I have to pen off here, because I still haven't finished studying electrolysis polymerization. But before I evaporate, I like to revitalize your memory with those encapsulating lyrics which proclaim that catarrh is my butter, your piss is my mimbo, the world's greatest lover is me.

Catch you later. Sleep tight and don't let those bed bugs bite you because you are too sweet for them. Goodbye for now.

Your slave in love, your pillow, your cushion.

To the intellectuals..... lets do what we do best...for intellectual masturbation!!... lets go there

PoliticsFG Orders Immediate Payment Of N150bn To Petroleum Marketers by apeiron24(op): 6:19am On Jan 26, 2017
By Levinus Nwabughiogu ABUJA—In a bid to avert the looming scarcity of petroleum products, especially the Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, popularly called petrol, the Federal Government last night ordered the payment of the N150 billion Petroleum Equalisation Fund owed petroleum marketers.

The order followed a meeting between the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr Abba Kyari, and the stakeholders in the petroleum sector. The money is understood to be subsidy on the cost of delivery of petroleum products across the country.

Yesterday’s meeting which held behind closed doors at the Conference Room of the Chief of Staff at the Presidential Villa, Abuja was the second and concluding part of the meeting that started on Tuesday on the issue. Briefing newsmen, National Secretary of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Zarma Mustapha, said the approval was with immediate effect.

He said: “The meeting had nothing to do with increase in petroleum pump prices. We looked into the issue of diesel and kerosene and as a matter of fact government is tackling the issues. “The other issue is franchise, which is the petroleum equalisation fund which marketers are owed to the tune of about N150 billion and now the issue has been resolved.

The government has directed that our mony must be paid and I am assuring you that with the payment of this money, there is no cause for alarm.” “We are assuring our marketers that they should go back to their normal business as their outstanding will be paid in some few days.”

“Many a times when I request for sex or during argument, she brings the knife out threatening to stab me.

“She is just aggressive and violent in nature; she may kill me if I continue with the marriage. “Because of her violent nature, I ran away from the house to avoid untimely death,
