KanwuliaJara:Seriously though, you shouldn't wish evil for someone. Davido can't go broke. The dude works really hard for his money and he is a trust fund baby. There is so much money in the guys lineage and he is making more. Personally, I am determined to be richer than my father and my father isn't poor either, so I work hard and that should be your aim too, not wishing someone else fails. |
In other news Abba Moro is still the Minister of Interior of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and he killed over 20 young Nigerians in broad daylight. Buhari can argue his case really well but what explanation does Abba Moro have and the fact that he is still in this government, and hasn't refunded the money collected is an indictment on this regime. |
AreaFada2:You guys never get tired of falsehood. How do you even sleep at night? |
poxibility:You won't post this if you just click the link and view it. |
gratiaeo:While I doubted that figure too, it wasn't APC that put out the number it was the foreign media since our own media houses are so cowardly to go to those places to report actuals. But does it really matter that it is just 150, capture 1 American in Uganda and see whether it is just 1 person. And while I respect the military for all they are doing to protect the sovereignty of this nation, even you know deeply that this cooked up number is false, judging by the antecedence of our military heads. |
Just called a friend in the area and he confirmed the bomb blast. No reports of casualty though. He said he isn't sure! Whoever is responsible, we deserve violence free elections. Election no be war. |
That is not Linda's Blog, that is some mischief maker. The link is dodgy and will eventually be reported to Google for phishing. |
Just got this from a campaign Facebook page of Hon. Dakuku Adol Peterside (APC Governorship candidate, Rivers State) APC Secretariat in Okrika LGA, bombed: "It is very sad and rather unfortunate that our main opposition has resorted to this unthinkable level of violent attack just because they want to prove their dissatisfaction over our already forseen victory in the February 2015 elections. I advice all APC supporters here in Okrika, to always remain on the part of peace, there shall be no reprisal; as you all know, I am a Man of peace, I have a commitment with God to pursue this elections without violating HIS commandments." I do not have issues with celebrating success but we are now so callous in Nigeria. 2000 of our fellow compatriots were killed in the last 3days and it doesn't even make front page yet some MOD decided that this deserves front page? Nigeria as we know it has ended. No Empathy Anymore. |
daben1:When they come knocking at your door the world will be silent too. We won't even acknowledge that you are gone because you contributed nothing to our national development. Anuofia |
Wow, so the US that wouldn't sell us weapons to defeat our domestic enemy can hand twist us into abstaining. According to your source, "12:37 A.M. Nigeria was the country that determined the result of the UNSC vote; it moved from supporting the Palestinian resolution to abstaining. (Barak Ravid)" "Palestinian sources told Haaretz that the U.S. put heavy pressure on several states to abstain from the vote. According to estimations, countries like South Korea and Nigeria decided against supporting the bid due to U.S. pressure. (Jack Khoury)" Well I am observing too. |
dplordx:Hmm, waiting for them o, because these are mind boggling questions that every well meaning, non-bigoted Nigerian should be asking. |
Adminisher:Thanks for the answers... quite insightful, meaning that guy those that paid 1k and almost got killed for non-existent job will never get their money back and worse still the person who collected the money will still continue rule over them. Very interesting.. |
searchcorp:Bros, make we go ask the policy makers now? |
1. How is Abba Moro still a free man let alone a Minister? 2. Why hasn't the pump price of fuel gone down even though in neighbouring Benin Republic it has been reviewed downwards? 3. Since AGO (Diesel) isn't subsidized why do we still pay the same amount (N150) for it? 4. If true, why is 2015 budget 91% recurrent and 9% capital expenditure? 5. What are we doing with 11 jets in the Presidency? 6. In the face of austerity, why wasn't the salaries of National Assembly members slashed? 7. What happened to Farouk Lawani and Stella Oduah? 8. When will the Immigration Services refund the 1k and would it be with interest since the money should have accrued some by now? While these questions might seem to antagonise the party in power, that isn't the aim. These are just critical questions I think we need answers to. Anyone who can answer should please do, and if you have yours especially for the opposition please add it. |
idumuose:While I don't support this no probe stand, you actually think if Jonathan is probed he won't be sent firsthand to Prison along with DAM and others. This by far has been the most corruption friendly government Nigeria has ever had. How is Abba Moro still a free man in this country let alone a minister? |
nieema:Hi Nieema, you seem like a really nice person and that you love your boyfriend. A compromise in a relationship is not getting out of it because things have now become inconvenient. The major issue in this relationship as I see it is that you are giving more than you are getting (You said so yourself). The fact that you focus more on his needs more than yours affirms that you love him. I hope you are a Christian because you need deep understanding of 1 Corinthians 13 (read it from either Message or NIV). You cannot continue solving problems the way you have always done, as others have said, what if you were married what would you do. If you actually had plans to marry this guy someday then you shouldn't end this relationship to sort yourself out - it is a very selfish act, but if you guys don't have an actual future planned out, by all means jet off. I once delayed my relocation out of Nigeria for several years because the person I was dating didn't want long distance relationship and she was in school, we still broke up in her service year but I never regretted my decision for one day, I truly loved her and I wanted to marry her. A quick note though, friendships after relationship rarely works even if that was the basis for the relationship. You will still have feelings for each other and moving on will be so difficult. My ex wanted same and I kindly objected. The decision ultimately is yours and from what you have written since I think you mind is made up already. I wish you all the best. |
frosbel:You see the question has been answered but you still won't understand because you have an answer you want and that answer you won't get because it doesn't appeal to the mind. You will spend the whole day here waiting. Your mindset needs to change if you truly deserve the truth rather than facts. (there is a difference) |
One of the major characteristics freethinkers, atheists and their likes is that they are logical beings. They consider things from the empirical perspective. This is not bad as God himself gave them the mind. Albeit, to actually understand God, you have to do away with logic. The foolish things of this world he uses to confound the wise. We are talking about God Almighty here, he doesn't exist in time neither is he bounded by it, he is TIME. He exists in the realms of eternity. Your question is like asking "Why didn't God send Jesus Christ the moment Adam sinned since he knew that is the solution to Adam's sin" or "Why did it take forty years to walk from Egypt to Israel when we all know today that through Gaza Strip it is maximum of 2 weeks journey". The reason is because in God's calendar everything is pre-purposed, that isn't to say humans do not have a say in this, as seen in the case of Daniel, Moses and Hezekiah when they changed the mind of God. There are dispensations determined by God and he has no reason to answer to anyone of his creations. The clay cannot say to the potter why did you make me like this. For all those who died before they received Christ, they will be judged by their conscience. Yes, every man since Adam was created with one. My forefathers will be thus judged as well as all those who even die today without having heard of the gospel of Christ. If you have been privileged enough to hear the liberating message of the Gospel of Christ and you decided otherwise, then nothing more I can say. The gospel is not supposed to just help you get to heaven, this is where a lot of people miss it. It brings salvation (soteria in greek). Truth be told, you will not understand spiritual things no matter the argument I put forth unless your eyes of understanding is enlightened, so I pray this prayer for you; "That the eyes of your understanding be enlightened and that in seeing , you would see and understand in the name of Jesus" Thank you |
May Karma catch up with the thief soon, but these I just got backs (IJGBs), what makes them contemplate taking the long journey to the east by road. It is dangerous and flight is not that expensive. |
ideology:Dude did you read his comment at all or you already had this typed somewhere and you just pasted. What is with the comparison between FG and State Governments. He also didn't say he should tour the whole country he was specific as to the locations he should visit. The dude didn't even really criticize the FG neither did he compare Nigeria to China he only mentioned an act by the China Premier, except if there is another post I am not aware of. He only highlighted how he feels things could have been done better which actually makes a whole lot of sense. Try not to get worked up over constructive criticism. No one has absolute monopoly to knowledge. |
There are more important threads like this https://www.nairaland.com/2057321/nigerias-foreign-reserves-drop-500m that affect all of us and this made frontpage? I tried to buy Euro this morning and I saw it was going to cost me more than N240 and you think we should be bothered about things like this? Okay o God bless Nigeria |
Okay please I am trying to understand something here, you are not defending the Naira anymore but the reserves still gets depleted in the same week I bought Euros for almost N240 by a whooping $0.5billion. All these economics just doesn't make sense to me. Dear MOD, please move to front page so economists on the forum can explain this for all of us. |
BlackTechnology:This is the most contradictory statement I have heard in years. It defies logic and economic laws, if cost of production reduces, cost of commodity should reduce too in a free market economy. I don't need a degree in economics to know that. If you tell me that the cost savings is basically transmuted to reduction on subsidy paid, rather than reduction in pump price, it means that the Government should tell us how much that is what is happening to that savings. In all, the insincerity of our Government to make our refineries work and the fact that we still pay subsidy on even products refined here is what never ceases to baffle me. Where does all these money go? The answer to that question is very glary to you and I, if we are sincere. |
Faraidi:So also should Mimiko and every APGA member in Anambra state elected into the house and the House of Assembly members in Ekiti State and Ogun State and every other political officer who have ever decamped without division in their respective parties. are you not making noise about those? Or is the law effective only for those who left PDP and not those who joined? If no double standards are in place that should be the case. But I guess you won't agree, would you? |
No you don't need to speak in tongues to get to heaven, the only requirement necessary according to Jesus Christ in getting to heaven is that "You must be born again - that is all that is needed" However, Jesus Christ himself said this in Mark 16:17-18 "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." From the above you see that you should speak in tongues. The question now is how then do you know what speaking in tongues is? On the day of Pentecost it was noted that the disciples spoke in the language of ordinary men but inspired of the Holy Spirit. Most people focus more on the fact that on that particular day they spoke in the language of ordinary men rather than the other fact that it was inspired of the Holy Ghost. This singular reason is why several Christians don't speak in tongues. Because when they speak, they expect that it should be in a natural language they've not learnt. Paul the Apostle clarified this in 1 Corinthians 14:2 (For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.) Verse 4 says "Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church." While majority part of this chapter tries to tell you that in desiring spiritual gift, Prophecy is more important than speaking in tongues, it did make some really strong points for speaking in tongues. Verse 14-15 says "For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding." Paul said Tongues are signs for unbelievers. In all, speaking in tongues is good for you. If you don't believe in it then don't worry about it, it isn't a gift for all but I just implore you "DO NOT CRITICIZE WHAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND". If someone believes something and you don't it doesn't mean something is wrong with the person's doctrine or even yours. The Christian walk is personal and totally based on revelation. Maybe God hasn't revealed it to you yet or maybe the person needs better revelation. Leave that to the one who reveals himself. Thank you all. |
Purity1:It might not be selfish but it is myopic to deny your daughter marriage based on financial capability. If the person has potential and is driven, making money is easy. |
kristina1:There is no such thing as a bad tribe only bad people. Individuals differ in traits. Tribalism/racism is a disease. You should be able to marry from anywhere you so desire and your parents shouldn't determine that by tribal sentiments. If they give you a good reason you shouldn't marry the person, don't be blinded by love consider it but never on tribal grounds. |
Having read through the posts here, I believe where it seems that all who believe tithing has been done away with, has it founded on the belief that tithing came with the law. Tithing didn't come with the law, it was instituted before the law. There was a dispensation on earth before the law came. Abraham was the first to pay tithes as revealed to him by God and he paid the tithe to Melchizedek who is likened to Christ. Abraham was not under the law, Abraham lived before the law. The law came by Moses. He lived by faith and as Christians we live by faith too. So if tithing was only ratified by the law how come it is then done away with the nullification of the law. All that said, if you choose not to pay your tithe, it is your decision and I would have loved to say it is your money but it isn't. At least you are the one in custody of the money. I "PAY" my tithe with revelation and I have been mightily blessed for doing so. I'd rather pay it with the belief that I am giving it to God and since it is a form of giving and God enjoins us to give rather than argue with whether it is right or not. But of course you are thinking that you are enriching a man which is where all these arguments stems from. Well, I am giving to God, what the man I believe God puts in charge does with the money is between him and God. |

Mandiddo:I was beginning to wonder if anyone actually read the story. These MODs and the need to pull traffic is beginning to tick me off and people just comment without even reading the post just the topic. Pretty sure the 2 of them know each other well and they both know their status with Flavour. Shikena. |
Father, thank you for the life of this General he made an impact in this generation. Please grant his family the fortitude to bear this loss. In Jesus' name. Amen. As for those passing judgmental comments, feel so sorry for you. You have made no impact in your generation yet you criticise those who do. Those who defy the odds to make something out of their lives while glorifying God. I have since given up on mortal men judging immortal beings. |
