The electronic voice of the news broadcaster sounded from her 3D image on the holo screen. Her face appears very slimly oval with the cheeks and lower jaw forming almost a sharp point. Her hair was colored green made in the shape of concentric circles that continued till at a point in the middle where the tip is made to splash and display several colors that change every minutes. The hair style is a recent rave among celebrities and popular entertainment figures. Her dress is elegantly crafted to fit tightly with her skin. Also green to match the color of her hair, lips, eye lashes and finger nails. The dress is made from a glittering plyo-lene material which runs down to just one third of the length of her laps then a long shinny black neo-leather boot on her feet meet the hem of her dress at the point on her thighs. “Furthermore, Senator Nathan Goodwill, a member of the legislative arm of the Federated States of Earth had this to say about the court’s action. “ The image of the news broadcaster was replaced by that of a man that appeared to be in his mid fifties. With silver colored hair putting on a gray colored corporate suit. “I think the decision of the Global Civil Court is the best thing to do at the moment in order to reduce the tensions that had been mounting between the people of the colonies and the earth government. Several riots and protests have broken out in some parts of the colonies and here on earth too. So the court’s action will help douse the tensions and let the people of the colonies know that the earth government is working for their benefits. The Federated States of Earth will defend their rights to freedom, autonomy and self determination. “ “In a related development, one of our correspondent, at the Nuterra Global Network, caught up with the president of Iris System Securities coming out of the court two days ago. “ The broadcaster’s image came back on the holo display. “And this is what we have to say. “ “This is the systematic oppression we the corporations on the colonies fight against. We being subjected to undue harassment just because we do business in the colonies. “ the image of Dalmar walking down the steps of a huge white domed building with several colonnades all of polished marble was speaking. “We the mega corporations will resist this arbitrary action. We will sue the Colonial Security and Control for illegal detention, harassment and blackmail. They will pay for… “ |
“Now that’s how you complete a bounty job. “ Marvel said loudly. He turned as he heard the high whined of a unique back pack and a heavy thud sound behind him. Before turning he knew what it was. Standing behind him was a man who seems to be almost entirely made of black dull gleaming metal. The only parts that still have human flesh is parts of the head. The skull and one part of the eye was covered in the same black metal. Just one eye, nose and the mouth are the only part not covered in metal. The man made of metal spoke and his words sounded like the ringing of bells with dense iron with an electronic whining under it. “Hi Marvel hope am not too late? “ “You are, Cyborg. What kept you so long? I pushed the panic button some minutes ago. “ Marvel replied angrily. “No, that was actually just eighty seven seconds ago. “ The Cyborg corrected. “Really? “ Just eighty seven seconds and yet it felt like he has been fighting for hours. Well that figures. “Still you were late. I was almost killed because of your late arrival. Any way you missed most of the action. You can still carry the two Gecko brothers still alive, they have a long sleep ahead of them. “ CHAPTER THREE “… ongoing investigations into the case of complaisance against two mega corporations, Iris System Securities and SynTech Industries, in a case against Trans Terra International and its late owner Lamont Ludwig Nicolas, of terrorism, illegal possession of military grade weapons and conspiracy to commit treason, has been put on an indefinite hold due to an injunction filed at the Global Civil Court on Geneva, Earth. The injunction was to stop the Colonial Security and Control, the prosecutor, from further investigating of the two corporations. Filing the suit, Mr. Patah Andrew, the defense attorney for Mr. Dalmar Reinhart, president of the Iris System Securities, said this act became necessary when agents of the CSC continued to harass and intimidate his client and threatening to detain him in the absence of evidence directly or indirectly tying him to the activities of late Mr. Lamont Ludwig Nicolas. Since no direct evidence has been found against his client, he had filed that the investigation against him be stopped. The presiding judge at the case hearing had granted the attorney’s request and ordered that all investigations into the two corporations be dropped until the CSC can come up with very convincing evidence to restart their trials. “ |
Marvel tried bringing the rifle up but discovered he must hast dropped it after the rocket struck. He reached for the NAX gauge 4, but knew he maybe too late to pull the gun out of its holster before Khano fires another rocket. The Gecko bros spokesman took his time to slowly align the muzzle of the rocket launcher when a massive explosion rocked the building. Debris of duracrete and body parts rained down on them. Marvel took the distraction to rolled out of the part of the heavier debris as the NAX gauge 4 exited the holster. He sighted on Khano, he is the greatest threat been the one with the TEC1. Marvel angle the shot for his head. Khano is wearing body armor, so the head is the only option. He pulled the trigger and saw the bright amber light of the lazer bolt leave the muzzle of the hand gun and drill a hole through Khano’s head. The hole immediately blackened as the high concentrated heat of the lazer cauterize the wound. Instead of the gray matter of the brains been spew out as it would have been if it was a bullet shot, they got roasted and turned to ash in his skull. Khano’s lifeless body dropped straight down. He quickly changed the settings on the NAX gauge from kill to stun recalling that they need at least one of the Gecko bros alive. He shot Lucas on the head too. This time the color of the shot out of the gun was green. It hit the target and a kind of greenish electric spark sprayed round his body as he twirl and dropped down unconscious. Madrid tried running when he saw both of his brother down but too late. Two green bolts from the NAX gauge gun knocked him off his feet. |
“St’p shuttn’ y’u ma’gots, I have the sol’tion to tha’ bastard right ‘ere. “ Khano voice sounded harshly from behind Marvel. Oh no that doesn’t sound good, he thought weakly. He turned facing the back as he noticed those attacking him running back to take cover. What he saw was Khano with a triumphant smile on his lips pointing the barrel of the TEC1 rocket launcher at him. Marvel quickly fired at the Gecko bros spokesman to try at least derail him from an accurate shot. Khano refuse to budge as he pulled the trigger of the rocket launcher. Marvel was on his feet, two steps running when the rocket slammed the floor behind him. The explosion hit him like the fiery fist of an angry god. He felt himself lifted about eight feet into the air. He crashed painfully to the floor. His clothes char to ashes leaving only the black combat armored undergarments he was putting on. Little pieces of fire where scattered round him. The parts of his body not covered by the body armor received serious burns. Damn he was fortunate that the rocket that was shot was just an ordinary High Explosive round. If it had been the ones with shrapnel, his face and arms would have been severely lacerated. Still he felt as if his bones have grinded to ash, his joints aches as if mini volcanoes were erupting within them. The smoke from the explosion was slowly clearing, the ringing in his ears began to subside when he heard slow but loud steps coming towards him. “Seems you got him bro. “ another of the Gecko bros said. “Sure, but tha’ bloomin’ b’stard ‘e ain’t dead yet. “ As he moved closer to Marvel, he pulled out another grenade round and fed it to the empty chamber of the TEC1. “Now I’d jus’ mak’ sur’ I kill y’u sl’w n’ enjoy evr’y m’ment o’ it. “ |
That’s a relief because that means the way forward should be clear. Something struck him then. The Gecko bros didn’t fall when his shots hit them. If they hadn’t jerked he would have believed he missed. But the motions they made showed they were hit and didn’t die, they must be wearing high impact body armor. Well time to go ahead, he moved forward and saw where the grenade had exploded and two bodies were on the ground. Two bodies? Where are th- the question he was about ask was answered as several bolts of lazer fire struck him on his chest. The heat from the fire was intense and the kinetic force behind the hits knocked Marvel back. He landed on his back. The heat sink of his body armor sucked in the heat from the lazer bolts and dissipate them. The suit he was putting on became tethers. The wire mesh under his body armor protected his body from being badly bruised. He felt all his joints aches as he tried to get up. Luckily the MAC150 was still clenched to his fist. He pulled the trigger as he heard hurried footsteps coming at him from the front. It should be those people who shot him coming to check if he was dead. Two of the runner dropped dead as the bullets perforate their bodies. He rolled quickly to his stomach still firing. Another one of the coming guards took three high impact bullets on the chest creating tiny spurts of red liquid. The body dropped suddenly on the floor. The shots others directed at him only passed over his head as he remained lying prone on the floor. Another short chatter from his rifle took out another one. |
Hi guys, sorry for the long break, MEMOIRS OF BLOOD AND STEEL caused that. If you are reading this and haven't seen that story, I'd really suggest you do. So updates will continue, hope you will enjoy this story too. |
tunjilomo:May continue with that one today or tomorrow but updates will be coming in much later. I have ti reorient myself with the story again before continuing from where I stopped |
joshuaboss9:The whole thing started in GHEMARIA CANTICLES., this story was just a sideline stuff I did for just one of the characters in the one. So the real story with all the plots is in GC. |
So I will be returning to MARVEL CHRONICLES 2 : EXECUTIVE SANCTION. Please you all should join me over there. Oh and before I forget please lets watch for Nairaland end of the year best novel awards and vote. So let's all talk about the overall of this story. |
And so a great adventure comes to an end. At a time it was like the story shouldn't end, I was really tempted to continue to expand the plots but it has to end here, that is how the story is. For those asking if there is a part two for this story, the answer is No. Like I said at the beginning of this story, MEMOIRS OF BLOOD AND STEEL is a spin over novel from GHEMARIA CANTICLES. That is why lots of the plots are opened and not ended. The run of this story was just an experiment for me, I just wanted to run a story for one of the protagonist in the GHEMARIA CANTICLES. And it really turned out great |
“I’m sorry master for holding you against your will. It is to stop you from killing my master Ruel. “ Gamba said sadly as he finally released Jarrael from the bear hug after Ruel was gone far enough with his caravan from the well. “I now submit myself for you to kill me. I no longer fear death, my honor is now restored. “ “No Gamba, you don’t deserve to die, you have been faithful, you should live with your honor. “ Jarrael said as he flexed his muscles that the holding by Gamba has compressed. “I think it was stupid of me to want to kill Ruel, my sister’s death wasn’t his fault. I just wanted to vent my anger on something and he was the logical choice. “ “Well it’s been nice knowing you. “ Thrace said already mounted on one of the horse. “I have a letter to deliver to the magus. Farewell. “ With that Thrace rode his horse at a fast counter from them. “Master, will you allow me go with you? “Gamba asked as he helped Jarrael open the chest on the sling around the park horse and go through the coins in it. “Why do you want to go with me? I thought your honor is now restored and you can return back home. “ Jarrael said looking at the giant Hokunian. “It is so master, but I want to ride more so I will bring home tales of adventures taller than the tower of warriors at Hokun. “ Gamba secured the chest and other traveling supplies on the park horse. “You are a man of adventures, so if I go with you, more tales will I have to tell. “ After a long silence, looking at the expectant Gamba, Jarrael said. “Well I have no particular place in mind to go but if you crave adventures and someone to ride with, well you are welcome to join me. You are handy for menial duties and in a fight. So let’s go. “ So saying Jarrael and Gamba mounted their horses, riding into the sandy desert as the sun continued on its circuit through the sky. THE END |
“Well that’s the beauty of it, even in death, she will still get her payment. And that payment will be for your benefit. “ He resumed his walk towards the well as the others followed him, leaving Jarrael, Gamba and Thrace with the horses. “Farewell Jarrael till we meet again. “ “You should fear that day because you won’t live beyond it. I will make sure of it. “ “Oh Jarrael we will definitely meet again but I doubt you will be in any position to do me harm. “ The merchant said without turning back. As Ruel walked on, he was troubled. Two of those behind him struggled to hold the bags containing the relics Gamba had single handedly carried, dragging it and following the merchant. What bothered him was that Mibazar still didn’t seem to have been stopped. All the effort Ruel had put into place to to foil the high priest’s plans, yet he has been able to succeed with other means. Could there be a secret to Mibazar that he is not aware of? A certain advantage that the high priest possesses, that makes all failed plans of his to still work? Mibazar has been very busy putting things into place and most of them Ruel is sure he doesn’t know. He has done his best to hide his identity and activities from the high priest, making it looks like Mibazar’s failed plans were accidents. Still none of that has worked enough to stop the high priest. Ruel had gambled a lot even risking his exposure by taking away these relics from the high priest, believing that it will put a permanent stop to Mibazar’s goals. But it now seem that Mibazar wasn’t totally depending on using these relics, as if he has other means too to get what he wants. This has now put Ruel at a serious disadvantage, now he can no longer tell what the high priest's next plans will be. He will have to take more dangerous and daring steps which might expose him and bring him in a direct confrontation with Mibazar. That is not good, Mibazar is way too powerful for Ruel to think he can survive a face off with the high priest. And the Nemphis priesthood is so tight that he can’t infiltrate it. He is being forced to move his hand too soon. He doesn’t like it but he has no choice. More aggressive and proactive approach will now be followed. He feared greatly that he may not survive it in the end. |
Ruel came forward and put his hands on the shoulders of the angry Jarrael still being held tight by Gamba. “The alliances among the kingdoms in the north had brought peace in that region for decades, this act most of the southern nation had copied. So there have not been wars between nations, this had led to increase in trade, development and security of live. If the machinations of Mibazar are not thwarted, it will shatter the peace and plunge the world into a repeated cycle of wars. That is just a tiny part of the big picture I showed Meera. “ “I don’t care about all that. All I know is your ambition lead to my sister’s death. “ Jarrael spoke with bitter venom encasing all his words. “You should stop speaking her names. “ With a sad sigh, Ruel turned away from the angry man. “Like I said before, she knew she will die if she joined you in the quest but accepted it because of what is at stake. She asked for just two things as payment for accepting the offer. One was the Runebane sword. I told her that is the only way you can defeat Mibazar’s servant if you ever faced him. “ “And what is the second thing? “. The question made the merchant paused for a while. “Sorry that will remain a secret. Your sister specifically asked me not to reveal that to you. “ “A whole lot of good that will do her now she is dead. “ Jarrael sneered angrily. |
“Here is the other part of your payment, five thousand royal gold and five thousand eagle silvers coins. “ Ruel said looking at Jarrael as Gamba continued to hold him fast in the bear hug. He pointed at the horses “The horses, you should please accept with my complement. They are well breed stock for desert trips and also very fast to convey you to your destinations. You won’t survive for long in this Amirian desert on foot. “ He turned his eyes to Gamba and said. “You are free from your obligation of service to me. I will inform your family and kin that you have served faithfully and regained your honor. “ The Hokunian face broke into a rapture of joy. “Thank you very much my master. “ “Before I leave, I think I should make you know this, “ the merchant turned back to face Jarrael. “I may be a greedy selfish merchant to you, which of course is correct, but I fight for life to exist in freedom that guarantees my trade will flourish and prosper. My goals may be self centered but that doesn’t mean people won’t benefit from it. They will. I fight in my own way to keep the world the way it is. “ |
“You seem so sure of Khen’s demise. “ Ruel said looking at the acolyte quizzically. “I’m sure Khen is dead. I saw him been surrounded by the giant scorpions. Even if not that, the tunnel he was caved in, I saw him go under. “ Thrace said after a little more sip of water. “Even if he had survived all that which I doubt, the magical defense around the black tower will be up now, there is no way Khen will escape that. “ “You shouldn’t sell the Kyaki that short, he is more resourceful than you know. Besides with some of the experiences you would have had during this journey, should have make you know that being dead have a lot of other meaning. Anyway I can’t count anyone truly dead unless I see the rotten corpse, even at that death is not still conclusive. “ Ruel stopped speaking suddenly as if forcing him to halt in other not to say more than he should. Just then the one leading the horses from the well got to him. One of the horses was a pack animal, carrying a trunk and some other traveling gears on a sling affixed to its back. As the one leading the horses stopped, he was putting on the usual all black garb of a desert herdsman, whose face blanched with fear on seeing Jarrael’s clothing. Ruel spoke some words in a particular rare dialect of the herdsmen language, assuring him and instructing him to leave. |
Looking back at the caravan still at the well, he indicated with his hand calling the attention of someone, who started leading some horses to him. “Look Jarrael, let’s be honest, you accepted this job willingly and was paid, at least I offered you half of the payment up front. The second part of it is here since I can see you have completed the job and brought the relics to me. So also did every single one of you. “ Pointing at the acolyte who was busy drinking water from a leather jug given to him by the third person with Ruel, the merchant said. “Thrace already have part of his payment. The rare book of forbidden spell was given to him as advance payment. “ Taking the leather jug from his mouth Thrace added . “The other payment is that Ruel will give me a letter to pass out to the Magus of the league of mages, recommending that I should be promoted to a full mage. I just can’t wait to get back to the scarlet hill and be declared a full mage. This is the fulfillment of all my dreams. It was worth all the sacrifice, dangers and tribulations of this journey. “ “Hope the lives of my sister and Khen were worth it too? “ Jarrael said angrily glaring at Thrace. “Believe me Jarrael I will give up everything I have if it will bring back Meera and Khen.“ the acolyte admitted sadly. |
With a troubled and exasperated look, Ruel said. “I shouldn’t tell you this, your sister won’t approve if she was still alive, it was her decision to come on this venture on her own. “ “That is not true, Ruel. You manipulated her, using the knowledge of who I really am and her feelings for me to persuade her. “ “See, the truth was I showed her a bit of the big picture of all that have been happening. Then from it all she realized that if she didn’t come along with you on this quest, you will not succeed. She knew that her death is the only way for you to live and succeed to finish this assignment. She felt if she didn’t die in your place, you would have failed and died. She knew she will die and made peace with it. “ Ruel tried to walk a bit closer to the restrained Jarrael, the look on his face made Ruel to stop. “What is the big picture? “ Jarrael asked the merchant. “I’m sorry Jarrael, but I can’t tell you now because you can’t bear it, at least at the moment. “ “But you told my sister. So she is the one that can bear it right? “ Jarrael asked angrily. “Yes and she knew what was really at stake. She wouldn’t have sacrificed her life for something very trivial. You should have trusted her, she has a strong will that none can really deceive her. “ |
Noticing the physical strain maintaining the binding spell keeping Jarrael at a distance was having on the cripple Sumair, Ruel looked at the Hokunian giant. “Gamba please restrain Jarrael. “ Gamba dropped the bag containing the relics then held Jarrael in a strong bear hug holding him immobile and with a slight nod from Ruel, Sumair dropped the magical hold. Jarrael’s face turned livid with rage as he noticed the magic hold was off and his limbs could move, he tried all he can to squirm out of the hold of Gamba but it didn’t budge. “Gamba let me go now.” “I’m sorry master, as Ruel is here now, Ruel is the real master, I have to obey him. “ the Hokunian said with sadness in his voice. After struggling for a while, hitting the Hokunian several times with his legs and still Gamba didn’t let him go, he stopped, facing Ruel with eyes blazing. “I’m holding you personally responsible for the death of my sister. Were I not restrained, your head would be on this sand. “ Jarrael spoke his voice steady but dangerous. “I’m really sorry you are seeing it that way, “ Ruel sighed sadly. “ I was never in anyway involved in her death. Her coming on this venture was entirely her decision. I hardly influenced her to make that choice. “ “You lie “ screamed Jarrael. “Your greed has made lying so natural to you. “ |
“You” screamed Jarrael and launched at the one in the middle who was putting on a long brown robe. His tiredness and weakened muscles seem to be a thing of the past as he headed for the man with blinding swiftness. “Sumair stop him. “ the man suddenly said. The cripple hobbled quickly standing before the man and performing an intricate hand movement. Jarrael’s move seem to stop all of a sudden as if he had hit a wall, his arms and legs grabbed by an invisible force. Try as he may, not a single muscle of his body could budge. “Jarrael, I never knew we had any previous disagreement that would lead to this level of aggression. “ the subject of Jarrael’s attack said calmly. “It’s all your fault, Ruel. Everything that happened is your fault. “Jarrael raged impotently as the spell cast by the cripple called Sumair held him with invisible coil of power. Ruel kept his distance, some feet away from the angry Jarrael. “I’m at a disadvantage here because I have no idea what your accusation is about. “ “You deceived her into a dangerous venture that took her life, just to satisfy your personal and selfish need. “ Jarrael’s body jerked and strained on the magical force holding him, this time his body moved slightly which shows the power holding him was weakening. “My sister died just so you could get what you want. “ |
Indicating without really been able to say anything because of his dry throat, Thrace pointed at the direction of the well. The well already had several horses and humped backs oont beasts of burden been fed and given water from it, Few tall gingerly trees that offered very few precious shades from the high sun swayed in the wind. Some of the men who led the apparent trade caravan milled around, others well armed with spears stand in a defensive position round the resting caravan. They didn’t show any sign of surprise at the sudden appearance of the three desert travelers. Three men broke away from the group attending to the caravan animals. One of the men looked like a cripple from the distance, leaning on a long staff to help him walk. The one in the middle was much more familiar to the weary group of Jarrael, Thrace and Gamba. |

“Who this enemy is, I don’t know for his has refused to show himself or act directly but had used others like puppets to drive his own goals and seeks to stop me. Of course you are aware of the strangers that came in unlawfully into this temple to steal the magical items I secretly brought in. Well with time the identity of this person will be known to me, nothing stays hidden from me for too long. Have I allowed my self to use my divine power, I would have discovered his identity immediately, but that will be counter productive. So I will seek that knowledge as a man, using other means. “Besides my plans have already reached fruition, so my enemy’s interference is of little consequence. “ Walking ahead out of the shattered council chamber, Mibazar indicated that the Arc priest should follow. “It’s time to start acting, I’m bringing down the shield soon, you have a lot to do. Ghemmaria is seeing it’s last free days, for the days of the conquest and the kingdom of Nemphis are near at hand. “ Epilogue The sink hole they had come out of lay long behind them, the sun was already high up in the sky, buffeting them with torturing light and already warming the desert air into a heat blasting wind. Their strength were really sapped, they had become so dehydrated, that even the harsh heat was no longer drawing out any sweat from their dust caked skin. Soon their bodies will begin to burn out and their tongue will swell because of prolonged thirst. Thrace was leading them at a North westerly direction, stumbling with each new step, claiming that it connects to a little used trade route that still have a functioning well. Jarrael was behind the acolyte, accepting the discomfort stoically as if it is just a nudge behind his back. Despite the difficulty of moving, Gamba still carried the bag containing the retrieved relics. |
Standing before the Arc priest, he indicated Achron should rise to his feet. “Here are your orders. Soon the shield covering the tower will be removed, make sure no one knows of my true nature, for it’s not time for me to be revealed yet. You will carry on your duties as Arc priest as if nothing has changed. But you will gather the other high priests and priests, teaching them all you know, every secret and power you posses must be shown to them. Tell them the time of the rise of the sons of Nemphis is now. Prepare them all for the conquest of Ghemmaria, for the time is soon upon us. “ “Yes my lord, your will will be carried out and done. “ Achron bowed but still something bothered him. “What about the council of five, my lord? “ With amusing derision characterizing his sudden mirth, Mibazar replied. “Those self proclaimed guardians of the world? Do not bother about them, for I have weakened them without their knowledge and soon they shall be broken. “The powerful and enigmatic grey sisters will soon become extinct, the tool of my accomplishing that is already in place. As for the mages of the scarlet hill, I have my agent in their midst, already slowly destroying them from within. The white hand and the society of the eyes, are not really powerful, while our priestly power is already a danger to those of healing of the white hand, the society of eye are just scribes, chroniclers and seers, no threat at all. The only one that will be a threat, if at all anyone will be, is the snake queen. Her I will deal with personally. She and Nemphis already had an uneasy history. “ The smile quickly faded from Mibazar’s face as a new thought crawled upon his mind. “The successes of my plans will hold me back from admitting this but it’s there nevertheless. It seems at every point of my plans, I have an enemy. There is a hidden person that is opposing me and wants to thwart my plans always. |
Wow can you imagine the mind-boggling level of destruction that will be wrought when 10,000 Muk-Anolis are unleashed on the world. ![]() |
Climbing down back through the dais steps, he smiled contentedly. “Right now as I speak, I have already ten thousand Muk-Anolis at my command ready for the conquer of all Ghemmaria. Besides that I am creating alliances in the southern kingdoms to join my campaign of world domination. In the north, I will support the baron Tarikh to start a civil war that will destabilize that region, weakening them enough as easy pickings for my Muk-Anolis. As for the valiant Gondolians, I am preparing a surprise that will strike at them from the west from across the troubled sea. “My plans were all well set. All would have been destroyed because you killed my human self forcing my divine part to come out. If I had not stopped my self growing in size and power, this tower would have crumbled, the shield holding it broken and my divine power made manifest and the decree of Arl would have caught me and snatch me out of this world into the blessed realm. But fortunately my human mind came to the rescue reminding my divine self the purpose of staying hidden and continuing the plan. “ In my godhood, my human mind reminded myself of the little use I still have of you, that is why I brought you back from the dead “ |
“ Only one god noticeably escaped the decree. The snake queen, goddess of the Gondolians, because of how much she loved her worshippers, devolved, emptying herself and putting off all her divine essence and power, then becoming a demigod. So Arl’s decree could not hold her. “ Taking a while to stand from the throne, he walked behind it and ran his hand over the smooth feet of the giant image of Nemphis. He turned back looking at the Arc priest before continuing. “The only other god who escaped the decree of Arl was me and that was a secret I closely guarded. Before the effects of the decree could take hold of me, I became a human, created the god stone storing my divine essence and power in it, cleverly locking it in there and keeping it hidden. I already have a false form of myself in the blessed realm of the gods to hide the fact that I am missing from there. Anyway most of the gods are too proud and private, keeping so much to themselves that any of them wouldn’t have noticed that I’m not fully there. “I had to do that because I knew there is going to be a time in the future when Dali-Ma’Siva will have to be freed from his prison and me with him will rule over this world with or without Arl’s approval. So for thousands of years, I have remained hidden as a man, had searched, investigated, inquired for secret knowledge. All my efforts were rewarded. Now I know the hidden places of the Muk-Anolis, the Dali-Ma’Siva himself and the Ana’Ra-siva, sons of fire, the immortal servants of the Lord of fire. “ |
“It has to be that way if my plans had to succeed. “ Mibazar turned his eyes glaring at Achron. “Plans I’m disappointed to say were almost ruined because of your bumbling stupidity. “ Bowing down lower and feeling truly contrite. “Forgive my blindness, my lord, I was too engrossed in my personal ambition to see. “ Waving his hand as if it’s of little consequence, Mibazar closed his eyes as he recounted. “It was fortunate that in my god hood I remembered there is a reason you should remain as the Arc priest. If not you would have remained dead. “After the pantheon war, when Dali-Ma’Siva, Lord of fire, was defeated, his body consumed and essence imprisoned , I was not noticed by Arl, the all father, that I actively supported the Lord of fire, having let my support been somewhat secret and behind the scenes. So I was spared Arl’s judgment. Though when he made the decree of gods leaving the world, all gods were forcefully pulled out of the earth suddenly, leaving uncountable numbers of worshippers without their gods and religions crumbled. |
Still standing in reverential awe at the sudden display, even as Mibazar stood before him, his eyes still retained a bit of the godlike power glowing with the residue, he stood aside as the high priest walked past him. Mibazar walked on the steps of the dais before the throne, sat down on the power throne, joining both palms before his face as he rested his elbows on the armrest he looked at the Arc priest. “My lord divine, forgive my ignorance, there was no way I could have known. “ Achron genuflected trembling. “I’m back to being Mibazar now, “ replied the high priest slowly. “You can do away with all divine appellations. “ “How is this possible, my lord, that you have dwelled in the midst of your worshippers for years and none had suspected? “ “That is my will, Achron. “ closing his eyes as if in deep thought, recalling images of long ago. “I have been a human much longer than you can imagine. I have lived thousands of years, changing my appearance and names, but I have always been among the priesthood. “ “And there was no single sign in all historical records that would have suggested something like that was ever possible, my lord. “ |
Hi guys, before I post today's updates, I just saw someone mention and voted my name and this story for the best fantasy /magical novel award. Though I don't really know how the voting process is, just like to ask you guys that feel this story deserves the award to try and vote. Thanks you all. This even came at the right time because the story will be coming to an end in the next few updates. |

Divepen1:This is a nice development. Hope you don't mind if I suggest that science fiction too should have a place. Maybe beside Fantasy or listed on its own. |
Darkhors3:Thanks for the mention. |
