Dear all, I'm really sorry to derail the thread but i just thought to ask for your prayers for a friend who told me about this thread, since we are a family here. Her moniker here is chrissybaybee. She had an operation for appendicitis shortly after she received her TRV. I never even knew until I saw a mutual friend of ours today who told me about it. I kept on wondering where she was because she wasn't picking her calls & replying to her whatsapp & text msgs & then her phone was switched off completely. I thought she had travelled. The last time I saw her was at coldstone creamery, ikeja and we got talking. I told her about my visa stuff & she told me to go on nairaland 'traveling to Canada' & also watch out for michV, mikymiko, thesoj & all. She said she just got her TRV through the help she received here & above all God & was planning to book her flight. Please I ask that you all pray for speedy recovery for her so she can go live her Canadian dream. I think her school resumes in January. Thank you.

It means you can monitor the progress of your application realtime (as it happens).. Ok.
Regards.

I get it. Thank you. Meaning it'll still be reviewed by them in Ghana...arrrrgh!!! When i thought doing that will give the opportunity for other VO's with better understanding to review our applications other than those ones there angry

Good day House!
I have a question pls. Having submitted via paper route & now linking online, does it mean your application can now be viewed online by any VO anywhere we have a Canadian embassy or it'll still be reviewed by them in Ghana?

Haba.... Fear not jooor!! Who says they don't refuse MSCs too?
Except there are other considerations that we do not know of (eg employment, sponsorship etc).... Your proposed program is well in line with your UG!
One striking thing that seems to be an issue with a lot of applications...... and people continue to fall prey for is.... "Career path progression"
We should have it at the back of our minds while putting up an application that;
1. VO wants to be convinced that you will return after your studies and that you are not using the study path as an opportunity to migrate.
2. In relation to 1. above, deviation from career path or employment line in future studies is quickly picked.... And then earns 'purpose of refusal' reason!
Aside of every other requirements.... 1 & 2 above should form the basis or background or foundation of study permit applications all through!!! Even before sponsorship.
Problem identification:.... Because majority of us have 2:2 and below in our UG and we believe Masters admission would be tight... The next available option is PGD/C... Which is never a problem.... But then we're never patient to pick those that fall in line with either our employment or UG.... Yu see!! Please take note... as this accounts for a higher % of the purpose of visit issue.

Thank you. My sponsor is my dad, im currently working at a Law firm but in their IT department, I also attend weekend classes on some IT courses..,I included my employment letter & a letter from my IT course instructor. Hello House. I'm really scared & getting depressed with what I'm witnessing here regarding pgc/d.

This is my profile: UG- Computer information systems. I'm going for PGC in information systems security at Durham college, Oshawa. I applied for my visa late in September for January intake.

Do you guys think I stand a chance?

You just have to wait, we still have 4 weeks in Dec, you would get a reply from CIC this month

Worrying doesn't change anything

Thanks for the encouragement. Indeed, worrying doesn't change anything.

Bro/Sis.. I can understand how you feel but trust me, a lot of people here too are also in same situation. As it is right now, you can only hope that you get called for medicals and your TRV is approved just in time for you to begin studies in january .Nothing is impossible! Well, for the new offer letter, your hope and prayer now also should be that they don't request for a new one but should they request for another, I believe if you can convince your school enough that your application is at d edge of being approved if you get a new start date and showing them d request letter, they should find away around it. After all, these schools use international students to boost their profile and also make money off them. I will encourage you to only hope and see everything that will go right with your application while being positive about the outcome . There is no decision made by CIC that is not summountable or welcomed.
Time has a way to make us forget all we've been through. So still hold in there and hope for the best about your app and just maybe, You won't have to get a new offer letter. Best regards

Thank you Austinpee4, your reply is highly appreciated. BTW, I'm a lady grin. You guys are really helpful on this forum. I'm glad to belong. I shall remain hopeful and keep praying. Nothing is impossible for God to do.

Hi Nairalanders. Happy New Month & Compliments of the season. I've been referred here by a friend who recently got her TRV. Great work everyone. My friend told me to read previous posts to see if I could get some answers to my qtns but unfortunately i have not gotten any. Please can anyone help me with this: I got an admission to study in a college in Canada & I have already applied for my study permit visa. The school resumes on d 9th of jan. I got this admission for sept but deferred to January becos of the long processing time. The issue I have now is I don't know if my TRV would be approved before the resumption date, I have not yet been called for medicals since I applied late in sept & we are already in December. Actually I'm scared because if my TRV is yet to be approved by next month & the embassy requests for a new offer letter with a new resumption date, I won't have any to send to them since I have already deferred and I was told I can only defer once. This is the only offer I have now. I know there's still a bit of time but if that happens, what can I do pls?

I would really appreciate feedbacks.
